Nice little museum in a historical old building. Loved the big game hunting display. Staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions. Being a communications person, I also enjoyed the phone and lineman history associated with the buildings past. I think I need to stop by again as I did not take any pictures of the big game exhibit 🙂

Nice local museum. Took us about 1.5 hrs to go through it. Free, but they do accept donations.

Im probably prejudiced since I grew up near Aberdeen, but I love this museum that gives the history of the area. Its not extravagant, but the docents are very nice, and the exhibits are well kept. The building itself is historical.I will go there every time I get home, which is every few years.

Very educational and informative. They always have something new going on here. The staff are friendly and quick to answer any questions.

What fun this free museum is! We took our four young kids here for a Saturday afternoon and had a blast! We stayed until they closed and our kid still didnt want to leave! They have a room full of taxidermied animals with colorful realistic background that makes them look alive! There is a lot of interesting historical facts in exhibits. They have hands on kids rooms where kids can pretend they were living on the frontier. They have travelling exhibits that are a lot of fun as well and very kid-friendly. We have seen one on dinosaurs and one on castles. I habe taken classes here for tours and those are always well done.

Great gift shop! Found several Christmas gifts. Wonderful exhibits! Enjoyed the cross-stitch, handmade lace and quilt exhibit. A jewel on Aberdeens downtown Main Street.

I have to visit every time I come back to Aberdeen, about once a year. Always interesting. Friendly staff

Very good museum that gives a look at this area of South Dakota from prehistory to present day.

A friend of mine from Indianapolis joined me on a self-guided tour of the museum. His Summed up our visit by stating “ This is not a museum to display antiques, this is about people! Local people making history and keeping that history alive!” He went on to say “...and the gallery of local artists and their paintings is amazing!” I couldn’t agree more.

We love the childrens interactive rooms! Very fun to walk through the room of taxidermy animals from across the globe! We can easily spend 1 to 2 hours there. Children are 10, 8, and 4, and they all love it!

Oh man! Did I wish to stay a little bit longer to see everything in this nice small-town museum. It is a must for those who like to view history about the Dakotas when they were the Wild West! I will return!

My kids have a awesome time, every time they go. They really enjoyed digging for the dinosaur eggs. But there favorite part is as my daughter calls it the toy room on the 2nd floor. They also enjoy coloring. Everytime we go in my son pets the buffalo like its our dog at home its very cute.

Very neat and interesting. Liked that there was stuff for kids to interact and play with.

Wonderfull Museum they have a special display to honor the lunch of the Apollo 11 with the astronauts videos talking from the moon to Earth thanking the earth crew team that help them to get there, very touching after so many years.

If you have an interest in South Dakota history so good place you get some basic knowledge not a big Museum the museum itself its quite a relic not updated very often
