This is a nice place for an after work snack, first time meet up, or a get away. Nicely tucked in to the neighborhood itβs almost reminiscent of a Parisian cafe. If you have time to kill of just want a slow enjoyable meal this is a good selection. They are limited with staff but the employees that are there are VERY hospitable and hardworking. Go easy on them after all they did show up even during a pandemic. π·
The perfect small cafe on corner. Itβs so cute, youβd definitely want to visit. I went there on a Sunday afternoon to work alone, and the place is very nice and comfortable. The music is great, and it gives you a feel of those small Italian street cafes which you see in the movies. Waitress were very welcoming and the food was delicious too! Would definitely take my friends there!
Fourth time here. Have enjoyed the experience every time. Food and drinks are great, good variety, balance of both savory and sweet. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor better in the winter. Tonight was a warm summer evening so we sat outside. Only downside to outdoor seating is it is smoking friendly so can be a challenge when not wanting to be around that as there are usually at least one or two table of people smoking. But otherwise great place to hang out and relax and spend a few hours enjoying drinks (whether you want coffee or tea or alcohol or both).
This place is great! Its romantic, modern, feels unique. The NY cheesecake, the brownies, and the Espresso Martini were absolutely delicious! 10/10 this place is dope.
So we came over this afternoon. Also one thing I wanted to clarify is that this is a Bulgarian cafe. European cafes arenβt really the type of cafes where you eat fast and then go, they like for you to take your time. So itβs not like the waiter is going to come in like 15 seconds he will more likely come in 15 min or so. Just clarification, I actually got this gentleman with a tattoo on his wrist and he had short dreads(heβs on the photo). He was very respectful, professional, and made us feel very comfortable. So if you want the nice one then come at like 5ish-5:30. The only reason for 4 stars is because when I say itβs pricyβ¦ its pricy. We ordered 2 pieces of cake, and it came out to a whopping 20 dollars. Okay I grew up around cafes, because my family is from Europe and this is something else really. Besides that very chill atmosphere! CAUTION: i donβt like smoking so much, be careful because everyone there smokes like crazy. Like I even saw the thick cigars like they have in James Bond movies. So if you want to go with family, I wouldnβt recommend for small children.
This place was incredible! Loved the atmosphere, its right across the street from a small park, all kinds of alcohol (if youre into that), adorable prices, and their blueberry cobbler cheesecake is THE BOMB! I got their whiskey lemon tea and was not quite as impressed. But maybe I just didnt care for the whiskey. π€·ββοΈ Still a 10/10
I didnt expect my experience to be so horrible. I wanted to write a positive review, however the overall experience was so deflating. Astoria is in a perfect location. When you sit down outside, you have a feeling of being in Paris. That feel is in short the best it gets. We waited for at least 14 minutes just to get someone to ask us what we wanted to drink. We ordered a meat and cheese plate for the appetizer and it came out after the meal. I ordered the Astoria breakfast plate and it looked like a 5 year old made it. No presentation, no flavor and over priced. On a positive note, the meat and cheese plate was excellentI strongly suggest they get rid of everything on the menu and only serve wine and the meat and cheese plate. Unfortunately my experience was such a let down, I will never return:(
They are so short-handed right now that the service is slow but everything is served with a smile. I love stopping by for a cup of spiked coffee and a stroll through the park. One of my favorite places to go when I visit Addison.
Was going to make this me and my gfs go to coffee shop as we are in walkable distance. We sat outside waited about 10 minutes (not a biggie) but instead of the waitress apologizing for the wait the first thing she says is βThis section is closed off for a reasonβ making a spectacle. The βclosed off sectionβ was 3 feet from another table that had water all over it as did the other tables which is why we chose that place. Never going back again due to the rudeness of the waitress.
This place was absolutely wonderful. The location is beautiful, the staff is incredibly friendly and polite, and the food was *amazing*. Iβm not a big coffee person but good LORD do they have other things to offer. You have to try their cakes - literally any one of the cakes on the display. Theyβre all delightful. I have to make it a mission to go back and try every flavor.
European-style cafe in a charming neighborhood. If you want to take your time and enjoy the atmosphere, this is the place for you. I donβt know another place like this in DFW. Paninis, salads, and breakfast are all wonderful, and they have a fun, inexpensive wine selection. Great for a date night, or a long lunch.
Itβs a cool spot, coffee and menu are good. The service is just absolutely tragic here. Theyβre just not very efficient with the way they do things. Expect to wait a minimum of 20 minutes before someone takes down your order.
Loved the Almond Roca coffee, the sandwich was really good too. I am going back for their amazing deserts. The woman who brought out our food was a little rude, overwhelmed due to lack of staff maybe that why taking that one star off.
Nice n quiet. Great food and drinks. Perfect atmosphere..
What a great, cute little place for coffee, breakfast and meeting with friends. The hazelnut latte is by the best Ive ever had. Go check it out.
Amazing and delicious breakfast in such a relaxing and scenic sidewalk cafee setting...I loved it and highly recommend it!!
I have shared reviews on this place many times and somehow I think they keep on getting deleted. It is a great option to grab a cup of coffee to either work or study. I love coming here for a moment to myself. My husband and I like to meet up with friends and often bring clients for casual meetings. I love their patio and often bring our dog.
As some of the reviews mention they are extremely short handed. It took us 20 minutes to be greeted and get water. The attitude of the server was extremely rude and off putting. They were unwilling to make even the smallest accommodations to our order. We wanted to add 2 meats to the 5 cheese plate or even the 3 cheese plate. They told us the only thing they could do was 2 meats and 2 cheeses and we could not add to it even for an extra charge.
Had dragon kiss martini and Oreo cheesecake my friend had the rocky rod one and a dos Equis and coca cola came out to 43.01 but other than that it was good
Wonderful coffee! The atmosphere feels like your in the Southeastern part of Europe!! Love the energy from this place will come again.
Beautiful, unique spot with amazing ambiance, desserts and coffee. Love this place β€
Awesome little place, had an excellent smoothie and enjoyed the numerous dogs around. Prices were pretty high but I understand its an expensive location to do business
Kind staff, but our table was largely ignored and requests forgotten. Food was generally above par, but the side salads were slimy, and salmon portions were far from generous. Likely wouldnβt come back for more than coffee.
Love the atmosphere. Perfect morning coffee or late night drinks. Meat and cheese boards are excellent.
Best place formlate night hangout with friends and have beers and coffee. Must try beerymasu desert
Beautiful little restaurant. The outside seating has a cosmopolitan feel. Also great for a late-night snack or drink.
Iβve met a really rude cashier, Iβm not comfortable with any coffee shop cups ( Just a precaution against epidemics π· ), I ordered a coffee and I requested him to serve it in (to go cup β)and they said if you take a to go you can not sit at the coffee??????Nice place but the service is not worth the place
So so food. Great patio and bar atmosphere. I had the chicken panini. It was just a toasted sandwich with stripes. You need to brush it with olive oil so it gets crispy
I plan on coming back because I like the food, drinks, and location. But the service speed and organization can be improved.
Amazing place and nice neighborhood. One of the best places to go in Adison.
Get the cheese board. Quality cheese. Wonderful atmosphere too.
Nice euro-style cafe. Friendly staff and good prices. Enjoyed hanging out and working for an afternoon.
Very nice place, with a variety of drinks and eats. Right next to Bosque Park, which is really quiet and relaxing.
First and last time to visit. The drinks arent overpriced they are a days pay. I maybe exaggerating but not by much. When a drink that would be over priced at five bucks (for what it was) is more than double you dont become a return customer.
I used to go there all the time, I really donβt understand why customer service is so slow when the place is not that big but I kept returning for them outside patio with my friends great area to hang out and staff is nice but I donβt think Iβll be returning after I went the other day with a friend and we ordered a Panini to start and that apparently wasnβt enough as we were quickly informed everyone HAS to buy something and you canβt just order water if you buy one item. Excuse-me? We were basically forced to buy a bottle of water we didnβt want just to fit a weird policy and the bottle of water took forever to come to the table. A bottle we didnβt want and then took so long it was frustrating. My friend and I both work in the restaurant business so we are pretty understanding and let a lot of things slide when we go out... And understand that this rule isnβt the waitressβ fault. But come on. I hope you change this approach on your sales as a restaurant because mandatory number of items is not appealing, it comes off really forced and rude. And made it feel like imposing we were being cheap when actually weβre just starting. We ordered dessert later but honestly, we were both pretty turned off to coming back. So unexpected and unnecessary. I think the hospitality could use improvement, itβs such a great place and area to go...
Service was so bad we left before we even ordered. Short staffed and not accommodating at all.
Cozy little spot for coffee and drinks with a very intimate atmosphere.
Best place to hangout late at night. The astoria dip and tiramisu is my all time favourite.
The food was horrible. The service was good, but wouldnt recommend or go again. I ordered the Matzello Breakfast. The eggs were wierd looking and tasting. Wouldnβt recommend.
Really like the atmosphere, its cozy and european style.
Great food/drink, excellent service, and incredible ambiance -- truly made me feel like I was in Europe!
I didnt actually dine here but stopped on my way to a location where I got lost and the server was so kind to not only give me directions but walked all the way to the end of the block down from here to show me where I was headed to. Thanks for being so gracious π€π
One of my favorite places to go in the Metroplex. Love the vibe.
Look liked a nice place but once we were seated we were told to move a table in the back and then was ignored while another 2 tables were sat after us and served before us, no one took our order all combined after being relocated we were there for about 20 minutes and no interaction
This little neighborhood bar is so disappointing. The fact that you can still smoke in Addison in such a small confined space is criminal. Sitting on their patio is like sitting in the middle of an ash tray. Never again, Ive made this mistake for the last time. Plus they are ALWAYS understaffed. Ive never waited so long for a drink....so disappointing.
The coffee was delicious, I would really like to return to try different things. I had a beautiful date thanks to your place. 5 β
Professional servers. Service might be slow depending on the time/day, but the food and drinks (excluding their bacon) is amazing. Come here often and itβs one of the best coffee shops/wine cafes in north dallas. Very cozy environment. Great for dates, to work/study, or visit with a friend.
Cool vibe. Cute place. I guess my only complaint would be the lack of heaters for the outdoor dining experience. It would have been nice to to have a heater or two outdoors since people prefer outdoor dining with COVID.
Stopped in for a matcha to go. Elena (if my receipt is correct) was very kind, friendly & professional. I watched her juggle multiple responsibilities with grace and she still took the time to write βthank youβ on my receipt. When a business relies mostly on customer service, it is of great value to have someone who carries it! I hope you are truly appreciated and respected as an employee!
Came here for the first time with some friends. The server was extremely rude (middle aged woman). I donβt know if sheβs the owner, but she had a very nasty attitude. Never going back.
Perhaps I need to go back for something else. My sister ordered the small Caesar salad. We asked the guy about the size. He recommended the smaller as it was big. It was about 6 bites. It was sad because she wanted a salad all day. She said the lettuce was not very fresh, and the croutons tasted like those tiny $0.89 croutons from the grocery store. It was most disappointing. They did have a pretty nice selection of cheesecake and cakes and the person behind the counter was nice.
Great coffee shop and bar. It has a very unique European coffee shop vibe. Plus there are some great desserts to boot.
Worst customer service ever!I have been going there for years and every time, you will literally have to wait for 50 min to get your order. I tried to look past that because of the location but you are better off with sitting at the part close to it with your own coffee than at Astoria. The owner is the rudest person ever! The tipping point was when I was told I canβt drink water from my own water bottle but when asked for water, was never brought a glass. When I pointed that out the owner said youβll have to leave if you pull out your own water again and did not apologize for asking for water twice. I was never even asked what I wanted to order. Also, everything is too expensive and they will literally charge you more if you ask for extra hot water for your tea.We were a group of people going to Astoria but the rudeness of the owner lady made us never step there anymore.
My friends and I have been customers of Astoria for over 3 years. Most of them already had given up on this place because of a bad customer service and this was the last time I gave them another try after going there at least 3 times a week because it was a nice location. My best friend and I went for a coffee and of course as always something disappointing happens.I ordered my coffee and when my friend arrived, she had a water bottle with her. The owner came running rudely enough, didnβt even ask but ordered her to put her water away. She put the water down and nicely asked for a cup of water. The owner didnβt even ask if she was going to order anything else and walked away. After few Minutes she came back, yelling at her to put the water away and told her she doesnβt serve water if you donβt order something, which she would if she was asked her of course. The owner yelled at her face and and said leave, do you need me to hold the door for you. What kind of service are you providing to your customers?, especially if theyβve been coming for years? There were several occasions that she was rude not only to us but several other people and that shouldnβt be acceptable. You canβt tell me you appreciate my business when youβre rude to people on my table yelling and asking them to fix their attitude when your attitude isnβt fixable.Learn how to speak to your customers and to serve them in timely manners. I came back to your place even when you have made me move from my table before, even when I wasnβt asked what I want to drink for more than 30 minutes, even when you didnβt serve my drinks and food for more than an hour, when youβve charged my friends for a frozen pizza before that wasnβt even defrosted properly. Iβve seen you make your waitress cry in front of customers. I still came back, but treating people on my table as you did that days was the last thing Iβm going to allow when there are several good places in town. NEVER BACK AGAIN.
Really nice people there and a very good selection. The prices are pretty reasonable also. I was very surprised by there stock selection.
Had a carrot cake and chocolate pastry. Loved the taste and was definitely nostalgic. This cafe is beautiful, literally walking into a place for the first time where everything from coffee to booze and deserts
The best caffe & wine bar in town! The staff is super nice, professional and the selection of bar food, coffee, wine and other various drinks is very unique. Luka, Elena, Dennis and other staff members will make sure you are taken care of in timely manner, making you the best coffee ever! The best part is that the owner warmly welcomes the guests and tries to accommodate their needs during the pandemic. The other important thing is that it is pets friendly restaurant and most dogs have manners. Both inside and outside you can find a little corner and lots of privacy for any occasion you seek. Its a breath of fresh air blowing straight from Eastern Europe with tradition, courtesy and relaxation. I highly recommend this place!
Paige was an amazing server. Wonderful atmosphere with beautiful view and great for dog and people watching.
I guess tbey deleted my review so I went there, coffee tastes like water, I got double charged and..since when they started to charge you gratitude without letting you know? This used to be my fav place, not anymore (the waitress in blonde hair was also rude when I wanted to know how I got double charged!!)
I highly recommend this place for an evening outing to pregame for the night. You can sit outside or inside. The paninis are not what Im used to but the selection of wine compensates for that. The one thing that I would not recommend is to eat outside on a hot day since it sits across the street from a dog park where the owners do not pick up from the dogs so you will for sure smell constant whiffs of dog poop. People bring their pets to the eating area a lot so there are things left over like dog bowls under some of the tables which is a little gross if Im out with a guest trying to enjoy a bottle of wine and eat. Im a big dog lover but I know when to keep my pet at home. Other than that Astoria is a very charming place to be and I recommend it
Nice homey coffee to chat with friends. Feels intimate. Food is ok but nothing super remarkable. Thing to highlight is the environment
I used to go to Astoria often due to their exelent coffee. I had a rough week at work completely hectic and first thing I thought was to go get me a good coffee relax and review all my pending work, I asked what time they close and if they had wifi because I hve never used it before, her answer was: mmm aaa the wifi is in only for costumers and this is notreally a study cafe; why would she answer that?! Promptly assuming Im just going to use their wifi as if I dont have wifi at home, I just wanted to go and find a time to relax while drinking my favorite beverage, thank you for adding to my week! I wont even try to go back !
Great location. Outside area is wonderful. Holiday drinks are great. Wine selection is really, really poor. Coffee is good.
Good pizza and pastries at great price
I arrived at 2 pm and was seated promptly. 30 minutes into being at my table I finally get my latte after I ask for it to come ahead of my panini (hint). Then it took 50 minutes for my panini. This is of course after I asked for the bill. Disappointing.
Great service Value on panini a negative Wine okay
I gave this place more than a chance and almost every single time i have been disappointed! my first time going there i went with almost 7 other people, everyone order and when it was time to leave we asked for separate checks....the server said we should have mentioned that from the beginning and that its gonna take her some time to do that. The server should be the person asking if its gonna be together or separate checks not the customer. she brought the checks but some were messed up and when we told her she got all mad and raised her voice saying that we are giving her a hard time when we werent even being mean or rude, we gave her her time to bring them even after blaming us that we should mentioned it from the beginning.Second time around i went it was raining i walked in and there were a very few empty seats and i asked if we can sit; she said the seats are reserved and we can sit outside (mind you IT IS RAINING) i told her i can sit till the reservation shows up and she said she cant do that! like what kind of customer courtesy is that!! i had no choice but to leave.Third time going there was IT for me. this is during Covid-19 and i completely understand Limited capacity during this pandemic. First of the place was packed and it was not following the 6 ft social social distancing. me and a friend of mine were seated at the bar (mind you there were 2 other tables that were empty) but they were right next to a table of two so i thought maybe she is trying to keep people away from each other because of the pandemic EVEN THOUGH OTHER TABLES WERENT SEATED THAT WAY AT ALL. A guy walked in and she sits him one chair behind my friend and i. later 2 people get up and leave; me and my friend waited for the table to be cleaned and moved over to that table. Now we are as far apart from anyone in the very corner. The owner comes rushing towards us and say You cant just move from one seat to another without asking and Im not forced to keep cleaning your seats from here to there during this pandemici told her i moved because we were seated at the bar next to someone that was only one seat away and i wanted to be safe, you are going to clean after anyone no matter what and thats why we even waited for your waitress to clean after people left! Then she processed to say that the table we are sitting on is reserved and that all the tables have a sign saying wait to be seated so people dont move as they please. I told her nicely there are two other tables that are empty additional to the bar where we were sitting so if THE RESERVATION shows up they can sit anywhere else its not like i took the last seat in the damn place! and its not like this is a huge restaurant where you need to make reservations and sit in the same spot! she started to raise her voice on me saying I DONT NEED TO EXPLAIN MY RULES FOR YOU AND WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS PLACE IS, WHAT? A LIBRARY? IF RESERVATION COME IMMA HAVE TO KICK PEOPLE OUT like what kind of customer service is this!!!!! and how do you even yell at your customers like that with this bad attitude!!! i was so disappointed i literally asked her to get my check and i left and IM NEVER GOING BACK
This place was nice even though the staff was chilly and could use some warmth when engaging with customers.
Not sure why my review wasnt showing so I had to re write this.I went there because it seemed like a good location and a nice little place, but dont let that fool you. It took forever for someone to come by and take my order. However, this is not the reason I decided to write a review for this place. As I was sitting there, two ladies came and set on their table and at first everything seemed ok, until one of the ladies which later I realized it was the owner came by and and started yelling at one of the ladies why she had a water bottle with her and ordered her to put the bottle away. She did put the water on her chair and asked if she could have a glass of water from them. After a while, the owner came back and started yelling at her why she still had the water on her and was yelling at her face. I was so uncomfortable being at a place where people where being treated that way. If you are nice and bring your customer water, also, ask her what she wants to order, then she wouldnt have to drink from her own bottle. If the owner was acting like that, what else can you expect from others who work there? After seeing what happen to them, I will never want to go to that place again. Please learn how to treat people and provide a good customer service. I am disappointed that I had to witness such thing.
Best bread and kabob
Great little neighborhood wine bar. Loved the outdoor seating. Enjoyed the service and gentle breeze in the fall afternoon. Will definitely be back for more.
Loved it Beck was funny, friendly and excellent. Great seats on the sidewalk patio. Delicious salads. Easy location.
What I particularly like about the place is itβs decour and itβs setting. It occupies a very unique location which lends itself to a quality and ambience that I canβt quite define (All very good though). It is not only a cafΓ©, although it has very good coffee, it is also a place to wine and eat and the food is very complementary. From drinks to desserts, and everything in between, you can find the perfect taste for an appetite. Furthermore it is a rather nice place to work from, the internet is very fast approaching 50 - 60 mbps, very calm and conducive towards that end.
My favorite place for excellent breakfast choices and meeting people for business or socially.
Do not have enough people working here people just stared at me waiting for 10 minutes before helping me and even then the service wasnβt great.
