My husband used to eat here when he worked in the area and missed the deep dish pizza. Because it takes so long to bake, we were able to place our order at home and I was ready just a few minutes after we arrived. There was even a table reserved for us when we arrived. My husband and son shared a small deep dish that was 1/2 Supreme and 1/2 Meat Lovers. Neither was able to finish their half. I got a small cheese thin crust. The crust was thicker than I was expecting but it tasted yummy. They were perhaps short-handed as many places are now, but it did take a bit to get drink refills. The boys also got canollis for dessert and really enjoyed them. We will go back Im sure and I do recommend it if you are looking for a deep, deep dish pizza.
Absolutely not a taste of Chicago. We ordered a small supreme pizza, toasted raviolis and the chicken philly sandwich. The crust feels like a cardboard, has no flavor, the Marinera sauce has no seasoning or flavor and none of the toppings weren’t even hot. NO FLAVOR!!! The raviolis were plain and you get 6 with the flavorless marinera. Finally the chicken philly sandwich was burnt! I picked up what I thought was a mushroom… nope all burnt!!! I returned it and they removed it from the tab (didn’t even bite it). Lastly…. We arrived at 8pm and it’s 9:55pm. Yup!!! 45mins-1:15mins for a frozen tasting pizza. This was a joke!!!! Ruined my date night! Lol my bf said racetrac pizza is better.
This place is always good. Lately the service has been bad. Definitely one of the worst servers I’ve had is crystal. So rude it shocked me. But the food is always good. Personally love the flat pizza and the pasta off the chain! The owner is the nicest, and I know during the pandemic hard workers are hard to find. Definitely come here. Such awesome food. Don’t recommend the wings.
Ive always lived in the Chicagoland area and I was visiting a friend in Dallas, so naturally, the deep dish pizza cravings led me here. The appetizer platter was great! Service wasnt too bad either. However, as shown in the photo, the deep dish pizza we ordered had so much cheese that it literally melted within 30 seconds after it was dropped off. Even the crust fell off on one side. The sauce, crust, and pepperoni were pretty good, but overall, it was pretty disgusting and otherwise overpriced. When we complained, the server just said thats how we do it. I guess he didnt see my University of Chicago hat and simply didnt know his audience. Definitely not coming back and wont recommend.
I ordered a pizza. Their system gave me time of 1.5 hours to arrive at restaurant to pick it up. I arrived after 1.5 hours. Was told it would be another 15 minutes. I could hear people in the restaurant changing their order to something faster due to the continued delays. You lost me. Not worth the hassle. This is good pizza. Order at least 2 hrs ahead and be prepared to wait.
Being from Chicago I thought I would give it a try since I heard so many good things. Well the AC went out so it was kind of warm in there the day I came so we really didnt get to enjoy it like I wanted. So I kept it quick and ordered a Italian beef which tasted like the real thing. Maybe next time the AC will be working and I will get to enjoy a deep dish pizza.
Be prepared for your taste buds to ignite in perfect harmony as you enjoy this excellent meal. We ordered the deep dish pizza. Waited 45 minutes but the wait was well worth it. Staff made sure we were comfortable as we waited and continued to check on us. Extremely friendly and helpful. I was blown away by the pizza. The flavors I have never experienced before and I lived in Chicago for 7 years. Highly recommend...but you will be addicted.
They couldnt care less about the customer. We ordered a deep-dish pizza for delivery (Taste of Chicago uses Door Dash for deliveries) and after waiting an hour we got a notification that the pizza was delivered, which it was not. When we called the restaurant, the employee informed us that the Door Dash guy picked it up and probably took it.When we asked for an explanation, she told us that the Door Dash drivers have been stealing orders lately and that we wouldnt be getting our food or a refund from Taste of Chicago, as we would have to work that out with Door Dash.Taste of Chicago got their money and didnt care whether the customer got their food or even their money back.
Taste Of Chicago Is Awesome! I have been to Giordanos in Chicago numerous times and loved it! Every Chicago pizza I have had outside of Chicago was terrible, until I visited Taste Of Chicago! They blew me away! It is highly recommended!
We have been on the hunt for a Chicago style deep-dish pizza and we couldnt be any more pleased. Everything tasted great and very authentic, one could tell the dough and ingredients were fresh. We got a medium which was more than enough for the 2 of us. Went with pepperoni, Canadian bacon and mushrooms. Highly recommend it!
Great 2nd trip. I had forgotten I had been here before. Efficient friendly staff. The menu choices were good and service great. Food was excellent. Prices great too. By the time we were finishing people were coming inside awaiting to get a table. Great food would visit again.
I cannot say enough good things about this place or their people. Firstly, the food is SPECTACULAR! Chicago pizza hits the soul different and this place absolutely nails it! The people, every single person, was SO nice! They made us feel welcomed and appreciated and just at ease. I absolutely love this place and I will come back each and every chance I get! Oh! Also put their fresh garlic on everything! Its devine!
This place is a hidden gem in Addsion, Texas. Its located in a shopping center, but out of site from the main road. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone wanting quality made Fettuccine Alfredo and Chicago deep dish pizza. Shout-out to our waiter... Hes a charming young man and was very attentive. Mr. Slick Hair hats off to you man!
Ive been to Taste of Chicago several times and each visit has been superb. The thin crust pizzas are so flavorful and the Deep Dish is hardy. Ive never had a bad encounter with the wait staff and I always leave happy and full. My one complaint is Im not a Dallas native so I cant enjoy the restaurant regularly. Whenever I find myself in Dallas, I try to visit Taste of Chicago for dinner. I highly recommend.
After trying deep dish pizzas all over the United States from Texas to Massachusetts I have to say this is the absolute best deep dish Chicago style pizza I have ever had. The staff was incredibly helpful and provided excellent service thank you very much. The next time I am in Texas I will definitely drop back by taste of Chicago for another deep dish pizza experience
I truly wish I could give a better review. The hostess and waiter were so kind, we even received a free piece of cheesecake. However, it took us over 2 hours to get our deep dish pizza. 40 minutes to get cheesesticks. 15 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. A family next to us got up and left. Im not sure if they are limited to one cook or limited ovens, but there are many opportunities to learn here.
Best Chicago pizza 🍕 Ive tasted in Dallas! Good chicken wings and absolutely the best Italian beef sandwich Ive had ever! It will not disappoint the service is great just make sure you order ahead the pizza takes about an hour to cook! It will not disappoint
This was my first time here and it was definitely worth it. Great customer service and the pizza is amazing!
Food was good but everything came out at different times. Wait times were pretty long. Two of us were completely done before one received his lunch. We got Cheese sticks as an appetizer and they were good but it took 15 min. 2 Main courses came 10 later, 1 was 5 minutes after that and one was 15 minutes after that. None of them were the super deep dish that can take up to an hour.
Service is god awful.I ordered the toasted ravioli which was great with a order of fries. The French fries were really salty, more salty than McDonald’s fries lol.The service isn’t the best, it took roughly 8-10 minutes for service to take my first order. After trying to get the server’s attention twice, I finally got it.Got the appetizers and again the ravioli was great, the fries were way too salty.I ordered a small deep dish and a small thin crust. I know there’s a disclaimer saying they take about 45 minutes to finish up. But a table next to me who ordered roughly around the same time got their deep dish pizza 15 minutes earlier. And not just that, they sent out the wrong order to us.
Delicious pizza, decent price, polite staff. I love how the cheese is folded into the crust. Not sure if its proper Chicago style if you do this, but it feels like the pepperoni should be on top, or maybe charred a little before being put in the pizza as you cant really taste it once its under the cheese.
Just like ChicagoFrom Chicago. Hard to find Stuffed Pizza (what others call Chicago Style Deep dish). You can find a deep dish in a lot of places, but this has the true thing - sauce, dough, cheese / toppings, / and a deep dish crust in that order!Staff was awesome. Call ahead if you want to order a true experience. Takes 45 minutes (typical time) for the true Chicago Deep Dish.
Came down from SA to visit for a few days. Had a really great time. Long wait bc deep dish takes about 45 frm time of order but well worth the wait. Glad i didnt get any appetizers cuz then no room for pizza.
I had really been looking forward to their pizza since I have several friends who love this place. However, when I got home, about 15 miutes later, I got overcooked, perhaps reheated, cheeseless pizza. The 2 stars are for a friendly waitstaff and fresh mushrooms on the pizza. Thirty bucks down the drain.
Wheat flour and sometimes semolina flour, giving the crust a noticeably yellowish hue. This place is lacking in the crust along with cornmeal to give it that lightly cornbread taste. If they fix this problem, then they would have many followers. After the first slice I felt robed with a filler crust that tasted like another pizza. Very disappointed! Good for kids with no taste Buds but not going back.
Supreme Thin CrustWe were there the first time. The pizza was delicious and the crust was really good. The prices are very reasonable comparing to other fancy pizza restaurants. Youll never be disappointed. We will definitely come back for a deep pizza when we have time since this takes about 45minutes to make.
It was great. Food was good, service was good. The only negative is the night club in the same parking lot.
The service was good, but I didn’t really like the food here. The deep fried raviolis tasted similar to Tostinos pizza rolls. The wings (Buffalo & bbq) weren’t anything special. The cheesy garlic bread was good, but there really wasn’t any garlic flavoring. The deep dish pizzas are huge - we ordered 2 mediums & that was way too much for 5 people. I tried the Chicago classic & a meats lover one. Overall flavor was just okay. One was over cooked & the crust had a burnt taste. The crust on the other one wasn’t flavored anyways.
Chicago style pie was decent but not the best we have had. For us it was the dough/crust, would have been great if it was a lil flakier but that is a personal opinion/liking however it did satisfied the craving.
Wonderful staff. The service was great and the food was delicious, just expect large portions. In my opinion its absolutely worth making a stop for.
A total disaster! I had a 45 minute wait for the worst food ever! The pasta was the lunch special not worth your time. The best part of the meal was the mozzarella stick. I want a refund. Super disappointed....10/20/21Thanks for reaching out.I was contacted by the establishment, they still have failed to to the right thing. No, I will not patronize this business again until I get the refund I was promised. Please spend some resources on training. Thanks
Been here many times always very good. This time not so much. Something changed. Food only ok. Had a thin crust and a beef sandwich. Not the same??
The absolute worst deep dish pizza I have ever eaten. If you can even call it a pizza. It presented like cheese soup on top of bread. The appetizer sampler was great and Juan our server and the young man that sat us were very friendly. So we were excited for our meal. We ordered a large deep dish pizza, half supreme and have pepperoni. Mind you, the prices here are crazy high for pizza. He told us it would take 45 minutes to cook and we were ok with that since we had the sampler. When it arrived at the table, it looked like one huge wet mess. Even one piece of crust fell over as he placed the pie on the table and the cheese and sauce started oozing onto the table. Juan said nothing about it and told us to enjoy. We tried cutting a slice and the cheese and oil just dropped everywhere. And the open space left by the slice on the pie was quickly covered by all the greasy cheese. I have NEVER seen a deep dish behave like this. My dinner guest is from Chicago and I’m from NY so we have eaten our fair share and we were disgusted. Juan came back to ask if we liked the food and we honestly said no we don’t. And I explained that there’s way too much cheese and sauce and it’s not even a solid pie. What insulted me the most was when he responded, “oh, but that’s how it’s supposed to be.” I quickly informed him that my friend was visiting me from Chicago and he knows damned well that’s not how a deep dish is supposed to be. Even a chain like UNO’s never makes a deep dish like that. We didn’t eat the pizza and didn’t take it to go. We still paid the high bill and just left with our ruined appetites. The good reviews on here must be put by the business because there is absolutely no way anyone would think this place was good with that kind of food. Advice to owners: stop making deep dish and stop using the name Chicago in your name. It’s fall advertising. And please please please learn better customer service. We weren’t happy and we expressed it, you should’ve have tried to make us happy.
Poor customer service. Incorrect product received. To initially correct order, customer service guy recommended that the cooks just add missing item (sausage) and throw back in oven (this is a Chicago pizza, not New York). Sausage is under or cooked within the cheese, not on top. Order was corrected, but negative experience and wait time made it less enjoyable. Waste of money on this visit.
I’m from Chicago and couldn’t help but feel at home. I was staring at their skyline photo forever and the chef knew I was at home. Deep dish pizza is sooo good, the crust is amazing. Highly recommend.
If you want deep dish pizza or wings definitely give this place a try. We had both and they were amazing! Theyre serious when they say the small pizza feeds two, its a filling pizza.
Pie was outstanding. Easily fed 4 adults. Very friendly staff. Dont expect fast Pizza, this is a 45 minute cook time. Good job guys.
My family and I are from Chicago and we have been here twice because it is a bit of a drive for us, but it is worth it. Gives a good reminder of Portillos. Tory was a great server, on top of things, giving us extra Italian beef juice, and making sure we are satisfied. Definetly recommend.
Brought the family here for the first time for my sons birthday. We had a wonderful dining experience our server, Suzanna made us feel welcome, very friendly and causal atmosphere, tv screens and music to keep you entertained and the pizza was so good the cheese & supreme deep dish was a winner! And the garlic cheesy bread 😋Good times and good eats! Make sure you come with an empty stomach & bring a friend to help you finish the food!
Absolutely delicious!!!We had such a great time at Taste of Chicago. We ordered the deep dish supreme and it was awesome. We also ordered the sampler appetizer plate and a salad. My kids and husband ate the sampler and they thoroughly enjoyed it. This pizza was so good. The crust was quite unique. It was crispy and thin but not greasy. We ordered a medium that says it feeds 3-4, but we had enough to have this again for dinner the next night. We made sure to save room for dessert. My son requested the red velvet cake and my husband ordered the Italian cream cake. I preferred the red velvet. These desserts were huge. I would highly recommend this place. The staff was so friendly and the restaurant was very clean. We made reservations on the website since it was a Saturday night and we were seated right away. Check out the pics from our dinner.
Were from the Chicago area. Grew up with the best pizzas ever. Been in Texas for almost 30 years and found pizza like home. Nice service. A nice place to go get Chicago style pizza. Would we go again. Heck yes
Had the deep dish pizza, I wont order it from anywhere else. Loved the pizza and the service. Great place all around.
Best pizza Ive had in my entire life. Their deep dish is absolutely incredible. Stay tuned for my detailed review.
I had the deep dish pizza it was sooooo delicious made just the way I like it. It had the perfect amount of sauce and my favorite toppings. I never really liked to eat deep dish pizza until I ate at this place.😋😋😋😋😋
We are from the Chicago area and had given up finding a good deep dish. Tastes like home! Highly recommend.
I came here last night as my family wanted to try a chicago deep dish pizza. We absolutely loved it! Was one of the tastiest pizzas we have had in ages... However the price point was a bit high. $40 for a large is the only reason I rated it a 4 star. Still a pretty hefty pizza, but it would cost around $15 to make.
The shrimp scampi tasted like pasta in water. The canoli was good.
Order the deep dish unlimited toppings (I pick 5- sausage, pepperoni, black olive, garlic, and spinach) and a house salad with ranch. This is my regular order, and a medium feeds 2-3 sometimes with leftover. Its a savory pie with layers and layers of favor. I keep coming back for this deep dish. Theyre always busy and well with the takeout wait.
My family and I have eaten take out here a couple times but decided to dine in for the first time. Great atmosphere and service. Food is great; I highly recommend the sampler and garlic bread. They were short staffed but the waiter who waited on us was more than fantastic. He was waiting on the entire dining room floor, managing take-out orders, and answering the phones. I didnt get his name otherwise I would say ask for him specifically. If the owners see this post, ask your wait staff if a customer stopped on their way out to say thank you for the service. Hes the type of employee you grow a business around. Will definitely be back.
Great food & service, clean space. I advise making a reservation & placing your order ahead of time if possible. There are times it can take an hour for pizza to come out. Therere not slow, just busy
Closest thing Ive had to chicago since moving here. The Italian Beef is a little dry HOWEVER the pizza is definitely on point. Closest to Giodarnos in Dallas and this isnt a fake reveiw. Will be back!
I am critical of good Chicago Pizza, but Suzanna( The Gm) and staff were awesome!!! The pizza was spectacular and the price was great! They all made me feel at home.
I give this place 3 stars because the Italian beef was close to the way they make it in Chicago but the pasta was horrible, runny.... for a good pasta chedders any day.And Im leaving a review because Google ask me to.
This place keeps getting better and better! Best pizza Ive had in the Dallas area, hands down. Great place to bring a date or a group of friends. You must try this out if youre in the area.Quick tip: If youre ordering a deep dish pizza, make sure you call ahead and place an order before you get there because its takes 45min to make.
Food was good well worth the wait. Our server Tory was very helpful and recommended so delicious items.
This is easily the best Chicago restaurant in DFW (that Ive had so far, and Ive had a few you can see in my history). The deep dish (extra cheese, sausage) I got was almost as good as their deep dish style Chicago counter-part, Giordanos. At first when I got it, I saw them put the sausage on top, which my gut reaction was this aint right..., as only a few deep dish places in Chicago, like Pequods, put the actual topping on top instead of inside.HOWEVER! I was pleasantly surprised to see that they put the sausage on top, AND INSIDE! I was like wow!!! Really fantastic stuff.Their thin crust pizza really has their own style to it. It was extremely good. Not much to say about this one, as most Chicago places have their own tavern style flair. As this one did. They got the square cut, thats for sure! Now the KING of this place is their Italian Beef. I havent had Italian Beef this good since living in Chicago from places like Johnnies, Romas, Jays, or Lukes. And even then, Id put this Italian Beef easily in my top 5 Ive ever had, even including Chicago. Probably would stick this place at #5, and if Im feeling generous, #4, knocking Lukes down a peg. And Ive had somewhere around 75 different Italian Beefs! Absolutely fantastic.Best Chicago place in DFW so far, easily.PS: To the owners, if you read this, one SMALL change Id make is on your menu. I saw something on there saying something like Chicago Classic: Pepperoni, Green Pepper, Onion, Mushroom. Now, 3/4 of those are right. No one in Chicago would call it a Chicago Classic and expect Pepperoni. A true Chicago Classic is ALWAYS Sausage. Sausage + Onions + Green Pepper (Or spinach, either one) + Mushroom.Theres a reason Pepperoni is Americas favorite topping... except for Chicago! The only place in the US where sausage is preferred! Keep true to that tradition :)!
Well this is pizza at its finest. Thick cheesy deep dish Chicago style pizza that is hard to beat. They serve a full menu of what looks to be great Italian food but for me its the pizza i show up for every tine. Their deserts are delicious but the portions you get for what you pay should be adjusted accordingly. The food is too good here to overcharge for such small portions when it comes to the deserts.
Definitely best place in the area for deep dish pizza. As close to Chicago as you are gonna get in Texas. You will not be disappointed. Sauce and cheese are on point. The dough is thick. It’s a very heavy and hearty pizza. Enjoy!
The food was very good and the waiter was great with the 12 people we had
Susanna was extremely nice and very gracious. The food is delicious and its our favorite pizza place in Texas thank you for the great hospitality!
Great customer service and the food is delicious! Nothing can beat Giordanos but this is a good place to tide you over until your next visit to Chicago. They accidentally messed up our order, and insisted on returning the money for the wrong order while we got to keep all the pizzas. Will definitely be returning again.
Horrible customer service and clearly can’t take directions. I asked for my order to be placed for pick up instead of delivery IMMEDIATELY after placing because I realized they use door dash as their delivery service. They assured me they would change it but never did. Got there and after talking to 3 people and waiting 20 minutes they tell me the order was already picked up. Never received the order from door dash either so thanks for nothing
Omg! I was waiting for this pizza to NOT taste god but I was so surprised. It was so freaking good y’all. My husband is picky and he said this place was amazing. We ordered the food in the pictures. At 7 months pregnancy I couldn’t down a lot because I’m already feeling full but other that I give this place a A+. We will definitely be back!
I never write reviews but I figured this one warranted one. I ordered a thin crust pizza and was told it would 30 minutes before it was ready. I was ok with that because I’ve ordered from here several times before and it took that long at the longest. This time I have about 40 minutes and got there knowing that I was going to walk out with my pizza. I walked in and gave them my name. I think what really happened was someone dropped the ball and miss the order altogether. Someone who I’m guessing was a manager came out telling me that pizzas typically take 45 minutes and that it was going to take 45 minutes for my pizza. I know deep dish pizzas take that long but either way I ordered way in advance over the phone. I was highly disappointed. I drove all the way from Frisco which is quite a ways to drive for a pizza. With that experience alone I don’t think I’ll ever go back there or refer anyone anymore as I have in the past.
Im from the NW burbs of Chicago.I drive over 30 minutes at least once a month for their Italian Beef sandwich. Still havent tried the pizza because ITALIAN BEEF BRUHHHHH. Chicagoan tip: Get it dipped.
Not real Chicago food but I guess ok enough since it’s Texas. The place was very hot inside and made it uncomfortable. I ordered a deep dish pizza (wouldn’t do that again) and a Italian beef sandwhich which was very oily and bland. They actually forgot to bring my beef so I got to watch everyone else eat and by the time I reminded them and they brought it out everyone was finished. Server was very nice and helpful besides that bad experience.
Waited for 30 min. To see a waiter had to ask for one. Then waited another 20 min to be told order was going to take another 55 min for a thin crust pizza. Canceled order and left.
The wait for the pizza wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt so mediocre. The puddle of grease was a bit much, but pepperoni can have that problem. The pizza is also much better cold. Id recommend ordering ahead or getting take out. Itll make a great lunch the next day.The service was abysmal. The restaurant wasnt packed, but our server came by twice in an hour leaving her coworkers to bring our drinks, take our order, and bring our salad. The check she did bring. I get that things get busy, but having our server chat with the table right next to us and ignore us was a bit much for me.The atmosphere is mid level dining. No need to dress up, but still clean and nice.
This is my go-to pizza place in DFW. The deep dish is as good as any youll find in Chicago. I normally eat an entire small when going out (or what the chains call a medium), but here I can only handle half of one. The side salad is nothing special and the appetizers are unnecessary since the pizzas are so filling. Pro tip: even if dining in, call ahead because it takes over half an hour for the pizzas to bake. This aint no thin crust in a 1000° oven. Also, the wines by the glass are a surprisingly good deal.
We found this restaurant looking for Chicago style restaurants. Coming from Chicago, the deep-dish pizza was amazing. We will be back!
This is the second time we have Taste of Chicago. We come from Denton. The first time was 1 month ago and everything was GREAT! (shouldve written a 5 star review) On Saturday we decided to make the drive figuring it was so worth it, only to be completely disappointed. Our deep dish looked super thin, the crust was cracked in 2, and our mozzarella sticks were really salty. Maybe the bar was set too high the first time. Im not sure why the quality was bad this time but sadly it was. They were super busy but please dont compromise quality.
This place was AMAZING. While my two toddlers refused to eat it because it didnt look like normal pizza to them...oh my gosh it was great! They put the sauce on TOP of the pizza, then a thin layer of soft crust, underneath is your cheese and all your toppings. Mouth watering just thinking about it. Very nice employees as well. Will deff be back!
Really really good pizza. Our server in training Morgan was great! Will be coming back for sure
