PCH turned our curiosity and groupon purchase into a life long hobby! My husband (back then bf) and I got our open water and advance training from Kim and Tom and weve been diving every chance we get. Purchased my Open Water Certification and Catalina Trip for myself and my boyfriend on Groupon and was extremely, extremely glad I purchased. Brett, Kim, Karl, Peter and everyone else we met associated with PCH were awesome, extremely welcoming, helpful, persistent, understanding, etc.We spent the first weekend in the classroom where we were given comprehensive, but to-the-point education about diving, and then practical application the following day at the pool (which was very personal since we were in small group of 4 students per 1 instructor). I was at first not a natural in the pool (nor was my boyfriend), but the instructors and assistants worked with us until we were comfortable and got us up to speed quickly. They are extremely thorough and focus on you mastering the skill, all while keeping your safety considerations a first concern.The following weekend on Catalina was absolutely amazing and the experience was one of a kind. Karl was great and we would highly recommend working with him! We got to perform 6 dives over the course of Saturday and Sunday (we also did Peak Performance/Enriched air), and it was extremely fun as well as helped us to really master our skills. Being at the Dive Park and looking around at the 100 other students there with different dive instructors, I was proud to be with PCH as we were diving responsibility, on top of our sh*t/not damaging the environment, and not ruining the visibility conditions for everyone else, and it showed.If you are looking for a shop that will give you an extremely strong foundation of skills with a focus on patience and safety, not suck you dry for every dollar, and constantly provide you with insight into the bigger picture of diving and conserving the oceans and acting as an advocate toward caring for our environment, Id definitely recommend PCH. My fiancé and I both attended training for our Open Water Scuba Certification. The entire staff has been amazing. Brett always communicates and really helped us absorb all the material. The book work as well as the pool dives and eventually the open water portion at Catalina Island. The accommodations were great and we felt safe and prepared. We both earned our open water very and felt prepared. Since then we also dove in Oahu and our guide said how prepared and great divers we were. That’s because of PCH Scuba. 8 months later we went back for our Advanced Certification and once again had an amazing time. Felt prepared and once again had an amazing time! PCH is awesome!! I surprised my girl with the Catalina Island Open Water Diver package for 2 and we were both very pleased. The instructors were talented, thorough, efficient, and fun to be around. They were able to squeeze in a ton of information and get all of the book work and tests finished in one day. The next day we did our pool diving to get acclimated with our gear and learn the necessary skills to be comfortable in and under the water. We spent the next weekend in Catalina Island and the PCH staff handled everything from ferry tickets and accommodations to making sure we brought the right gear and they even had dinner reservations for the entire group both nights. The Casino Point Dive park is a great spot to learn to dive and we had a really fantastic time diving and hanging with the group after. I highly recommend PCH. Brett and his entire team are top notch people.

I got my open water certification through this shop a little over a month ago and, ever since, have been eager to begin what I hope will be a lifelong hobby.The certification process was phenomenal! The staff were knowledgeable and patient and there was an average 1:4 instructor-student ratio during the water sessions. At no point did I feel unprepared or unsafe. And yet, the quality products and services offered at this shop are very fairly priced!Throughout the time spent with him during certification, the owner Brett often insisted that, above all else, hes in the business to spread a passion for scuba and, ultimately, the preservation of our oceans, and it shows.If youre looking to get started in scuba diving or advance you knowledge and skills further, this is the place to go!

You will not regret getting your Scuba, Open Diver, Rescue, ANY SCUBA diving certificate at PCH Scuba. The instructors are all amazing! If you want to learn to dive or continue to dive with people that care about your safety and genuinely care about you as a person, this is the place to be. My friends and I had a great time taking the open water course at PCH Scuba. Brett and Kim are very helpful to answer your questions and help you throughout the course. Catalina is one of the great places to dive because of the kelp forest and the area is marine protected. I am glad that I get to experience that on my first open water. Two days of diving at Catalina also give us the opportunity to spend two nights on the island to explore different activities. Our instructor Karl was very patience with us and give us many advice, much appreciated! We will be coming back for the advance course Brett! Cant wait.

These people are wonderful, fun, kind and devoted to your safety. The overnight trip to Catalina is a mini-vacation and the dive site is classic California offshore. They even accommodated our schedule with a private lesson day in our own pool. My son and I will be back for the next level of classes. Oh and did I mention the gear at the shop? Check THAT out.

Just got open water diver certified. This company is amazing and I strongly recommend it to anyone looking to get certified. They offer many certifications and what they don’t advertise is that while at Catalina you get a chance to kick back with them and just have a lot of fun after your dives.I could type on forever about the amazing weekend I had with them, but I’ll just leave it at this. All of the instructors were amazing, but mine was Carlos and I’d ask for him again every time.

You would be hard pressed to find a better place to learn, share, and grow. This team is one in a million. Not only are they incredibly well educated, themselves, but they are patient, kind, funny, and deeply experienced divers, all. I was once a relatively experienced recreation diver, myself, which puts me in a good position to judge the quality of instruction. Having returned to diving after a more than twenty year hiatus, I found PCH Scubas team of instructors to be extraordinary. Count yourself as lucky if you are trained to dive with these folks.

All around PERFECT experience. Already less expensive than all of the other dive centers PLUS you get a weekend in Catalina instead of boating back and forth. I had Nikki for an instructor and I definitely lucked out! (No offense to Amy and Chad, you guys are amazing too!) Nikki is incredibly knowledgeable and had that great positive reinforcement style thats perfect for teaching. The gear they were selling was at a great price too! When I am ready to buy my own gear, I know Ill be doing it here. Everyone I met on the PCH team is passionate about diving and very knowledgeable and personable. All around great company deserving of your business.

PCH scuba was an amazing experience! Brett and his instructors were informative, sweet and fun. My friend and I travelled from Texas. We have our certifications but are still very new to the sport. Brett and his crew made sure we were well taken care of. The Catalina getaway weekend offered by this scuba group was exceptional! An amazing, magical experience. We saw so many amazing creatures including a sea turtle! Brett was hilarious and made us feel so welcomed and cared for. We Had to change our plans due to a plane cancellation. He went with the flow and made sure we had zero problems with the ferry over to the Island. I cannot say enough good things about PCH scuba. The best scuba shop and deals around. The instructors are top knotch. Very friendly they make it seem like youve been friends forever. The price of the open water certification is unbeatable. The ferry, hotel, and gear (except mask and snorkel) all included for $464.00 good luck finding better deals and instructors. Brett the owner takes care of his people. He is honest and straight forward. Its a great shop and a great place to do your diving education through. They do local and exotic dive trips. I went to another dive shop and they charged $18.00 for a double end brass clip? 800 almost 900 for open water? No thanks Ill go to PCH Scuba because there the best there is plain and simple!

The whole experience with PCH was great! They run the training with military precision, but dont let that intimidate you. They are extremely friendly and very patient with each diver as everyone is learning at their own pace! The owner is really funny and very helpful throughout the whole process, and the same goes for the staff, you really get comfortable and make friends with everyone including other divers in training. That is their goal, to teach you how to dive safely and have a blast while doing it. I definitely had fun and it made me want to dive with them more. (Check out their awesome dive trips) I also got an awesome deal on a dive gear package. I tallied everything up online to see the cost and by going through PCH I saved a bunch of money. Even though I now live in Arizona, when I needed a new wet suit for the club fall trip (weight loss is terrific, but can be expensive), all I had to do was call Brett and he delivered my brand new 7mm Bare wet suit to me at the Catalina Casino Point at a terrific price and a perfect fit. You dont find that kind of customer service throughout the dive industry. All of my dealings with PCH Scuba have been that way. They make becoming a certified diver as easy as possible without compromising standards and safety. I have been diving for over 50 years and have not seen the level of professionalism and customer service I get from PCH Scuba anywhere.

PCH Scuba is hands down the best place to do your Open Water Diving Course. My instructors were top notch/super passionate about what they were teaching and the student to instructor ratio was only 4:1! This course is an amazing value as well, the price includes ferry tickets and hotel for a weekend of diving in Catalina! Brett (owner) was super involved in the entire course and 100% focused on making sure we had the best possible experience (not on making money/trying to sell extra stuff). Even if you have to drive a ways to Agoura Hills its for sure worth it to take diving lessons from PCH!!

Steve was exceptional instructor for my 13 year old daughter. He was kind, considerate, and explained everything throughly. Safety was first and for most. The team/group dinner approach brought the different folks together for a shared experience which was appreciated.

I was certified with PCH SCUBA almost 3 years ago. I never used my certification to Dive for almost 2 and a half years due to schedule, funds, etc. I re-started diving with PCH about 6 months ago, opting to invest in the Master SUBA Diver certification. I was welcomed back with open arms. I did the refresher course in the pool and proceeded to design my own schedule for when I wanted to do my training dives. For my specialization courses, I have now had various instructors. With all of them, I feel completely safe. On top of that, I feel that none of them judge any students/divers who may need extra time to learn skills, who move slower in the water, or who use air faster than the others. Instead, they notice these areas for growth with their individual students and constantly help them to work on improving their skills. PCH makes you feel like a part of their family and they show their excitement when they get to share their experiences of the underwater world with people. Continuing my dive education with PCH was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I highly recommend PCH SCUBA-they are safe, patient, encouraging, and respectful of their students.

I began my basic open water certification on a whim because of the Groupon deal, I continued my diver education through a Master Diver program, I purchased all of my gear from the shop, I have been on a handfull of local dive trips, and I have been on 2 international trips, with a 3rd one already booked. Every aspect of the dive experience through PCH SCUBA has been exceptional. The shop owner, Brett, and all of his instructors continually work hard to build a strong community and make everyone feel welcome. Whether on your first dive or your 100th dive, they continue push you to get better and develop more skills. For anyone who wants to check out life under water and who has ever dreamed of swimming within reaching distance from sharks, sea lions, octopuses, and anything else you can imagine where you can be at ease as your safety is their first concern, I highly recommend checking out PCH SCUBA!

Pch is the best! Everyone is super friendly. I feel like we joined a diving fam more than took classes from a scuba shop... Their prices too on gear cant be beat! So knowledge too, we came in as total noobs and left feeling confident diving even on our own. They also always organize local Dives so theres always a group to dive with too

My girlfriend and I had such an amazing and wonderful time getting our certifications with PCH Scuba and we could not be more happy.The classroom section was taught largely by shop owner Brett was fun and informative. While very much a classroom style course, there was time to socialize with the other students, check out the cool scuba equipment, and grab a quick lunch. After passing our written quizzes we packed up our loaner gear and headed home excited for the pool session the very next day.The pool session was great, you practice each skill underwater moving from the shallow end to the deep end over the course of the day. It really gets good the next weekend when you start your open water dives in Catalina. The diving in Catalina was gorgeous. There is tons of wildlife including starfish, bat rays, octopi (octopuses?), eels, urchin, and of course tons of fish including garibaldi.The level of excellence displayed during the trip by our diving instructor Mike was outstanding. His instruction was thorough, he communicated clearly and concisely, and he worked with each student until we were all comfortable with each skill we were learning. Under the water Mike had total confidence and I trusted him completely. We ended up taking to additional certs with Mike, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Enriched Air / Nitrox. Both were fantastic, but I consider Peak Performance Buoyancy a necessity to be able to say that you know how to scuba dive. Understanding how to control your buoyancy when you are under water will prevent you from bumping into all sorts of things and will make you more graceful overall under water.My girlfriend and I insist that all of our future certifications are done with PCH Scuba - we love these guys. Weve already booked a boat dive with them in two months, I cant wait to come over the side of a boat! You cant go wrong with PCH.
