As a continuous coin collector, I do not recommend this store! I’m not even sure where to start. First off, it’s almost never open. Do not trust the stores times because that have never been correct. Second off, the employees are not very kind. There have been many awkward conversations between me and the manager over the phone. If I could tell you about any of the products or store information, I would, but I have never had a chance to get in.
I had amazing service from the owner John! I brought in a stamp collection that I had no idea what the value was. He could have totally ripped me off but was very honest and informative. He gets straight to the point so don’t take it personal. Very kind soul and respectful. He buys and sells so many different things it’s incredible. Don’t listen to any of those negative reviews. John has been in this business for a long time in Albuquerque and I don’t blame him for being cautious with people. Thank you John, I will always do business with you.
This business is very unprofessional and unpleasant. The person on the phone makes you feel like you are wasting his time by asking if he has silver or silver certificates(he never does)! When I went down to the store, he acted rude as well and didnt seem to want to do business with me at all. He made the excuse that he had a doctor appointment to go to as he had done with other Google reviewers. I would never do any sort of business with this person especially since Albuquerque Coins is right down the street. It is night and day with how these two businesses operate.
Hello i recently had my granddaughter and greatgrandaughter coin collection stolen is there way i can post pictures of what was taken in hope they might show up
Dont even bother going here. He wont even let you in the front door if he doesnt deem you worthy of his wares. You are more likely to have your car broken into in the parking lot than to get in the front door here. I went to Albuquerque Coins right down the road and the dealer there was awesome.
I was left a huge stamp collection in a will and didnt know where to look or call to appraise.and possibly sell some or all of them. First when I called the man was very rude. And told me he wouldnt waste his time umless i had 2000 or more. The next say i loaded up a 3rd of what i have and took them im he quickly glanced threw them said 250 i said no that i had a good idea what they should be worth he then looked again this timenstopping at quite a few and raising his eyebrows (clearly not a poker player) then looked up said 300 i stated that i was thinking more like a grand. He asked me if he coud hold on to them over night i said ok. So went back today alomg with some very rare and old ones he looked threw them and gave me a awkward number at 440. He knows that its worth alot more then he offerrd. He just wamts to rip.peopl off
This store is selective about its clientele. This can be off putting at first but this is Albuquerque. Crime is rappant and I feel this shop owner doing their best to prevent it. Worth the wait to gain admission,
Called to ask about silver, was told they only sell to repeat customers.. how do you become a repeat customer if your not allowed to purchase in the first place ? Seems like a joke. Save your time and go somewhere that appreciates your business.
The people who work here are amazing! They always treat me with respect everytime I go in. Although I havent engaged in conversation with all of them, they are knowledgeable in answering any questions that I may have. Mark is genuine & was able to offer me more for my silver than any other gold/silver shop in Albuquerque. I will continue doing business with them & recommend them to my friends & family. Great Job All Who Work There! Thank You, Maxine Abeyta
Showed up asking about bullion, doors were locked as expected, however when the owner answered the door he told me his prices saying that he sells at 79 cent over spot while the other guys charge a higher premium. He seemed like a nice person however my experience was tarnished by his poor marketing strategy. He told me that he only sells to customers that have showed him business in the past. He turned me away at the door and refused sale to me, because I hadnt shopped there before... Whatever.Anyone selling a provident white horse of conquest?
Called the listed number and it went straight to a voice message that said Im sorry but the person you have called has a voice message that is not set up yet, goodbye.I dont think I am going to even waste my time with these guys.
Dont know what These people are saying. This is the nicest people I have met. I have my wife going through surgery and i didnt get the info I was wanting but he was nice
Wouldnt let us in the door. Asked what we were looking for so I said silver U.S. Coins said they are not taking new customers because they sell $0.50 over spot. I said ok we will pay $2.50 over spot and he/she said no thats not fair to their other customers. I was like what? Sign says stop in today but pretty sure its a front and not an actual business.
While my husband and I were running errands, we came across this store. Since we were using the bus as our mode of transportation, we wete using backpacks. Before attempting to go in, I pulled out my wallet that had the coins I wanted looked at. As ee approached the door, someone showed up on the other side immediately and asked what we wanted. I could not see who I was speaking to or hear very clearly. When I stated what coins I had, I was quickly turned down and told to go away. All this without being let into the store or even seeing the coins. Very rude and disrespectful!
I called ahead to see if their hours were accurate, and at 4:15, the guy tells me hes closing up right now and then says, What do you want? I said I wanted to shop for coins. He literally says, Yeah, not today. Seriously, who is open until 5? A store that is trying to go out of business. No wonder people shop online. I guess thats what Ill do.
I will just ad that I was about to go here today. After readin these reviews, there is no way in Hell I will even bother. Geeze, how are you making money? Laundering through the shop? I cant imagine you get much business.
The person was rude, wouldnt allow my husband and I to look at anything and was a waste of time. We were approached by someone we couldnt tell if it was a male or female with nails and voice of an undertaker and made us stand by the door and looked at our stuff but we couldnt look around and open by appointment only. Waste of my time
Oh my goodness! I have never been treated in such a disrespectful way by a actual place claiming to be a business! First when you walk up, the doors are locked and the place is dark so even though hours of operation are posted you arent even sure if its even open .then you try the door and all of a sudsud a voice quite and mumbled askes you rudely what do you want I had never been treated so ridiculously I had a $1,500 coin I wanted to sell but Im sorry I dont do buisnebu of any kind through a door being yelled at and having to yell my personal business out to everyone on the street! He is a joke . seriously,NEVER GO THERE!
Place looks clean from the outside, but it is very dirty. The place has regular hours posted but, when you show up the doors are locked. If you call them they will say something like I can be there in 15 minutes. When I was able to make an appointment he was not there, and was very rude about leaving to come to the store to meet me. Very unprofessional, treated like I was hard up. Went to another dealer and got more than what I was expecting for my stuff.
Good selection of coins, albums, and supplies.
This place is a joke, dont waist your time.
Had a question for him and he said he only does business with his customers. What.?
Not always open, but great prices. Very fair and honest.
Closed both days they said they were open. I called the owner both days, (apparently its his personal phone) answered the call very unbusiness like..He said call before I want to show up, and said bye.Just strange, very bad business strategy.
Got ripped off really badly but I was desperate to pay my mortgage
Dude is impossible to do business with maybe its because his drugged up daughter keeps begging for 50 bucks but besides that dont come here I had a well good enough 500 dollar pawn and got offered 20 bucks fml
Says open but locked tight!
Place is not a good place. Bad customer service. Just not good.
Disgusting service I will never go back there again
Its not even open.
Guy is rude and not friendly .. would never go back .. guy is a loser
Would not sell me silver because I am not a regular customer. Im buying coins not heroin.
The person we dealt with was very rude
Treated fair every time.
