Radar did a fabulous job with color and size. However the anchors pulled loose from the wall pulling a hunk of plaster after it when we looked at it we could see the screws were too short and did not connect into the wood. We finally got them out to reattach the anchor. They said yes the screws were too short and did not offer to repair the stucco. I figured that but was surprised they never apologized. Now after having the awning up for only a few months, the sun screen is developing tear. When I called the first thing I was asked what did you do to it. I was told to take it down and bring it in. I will do so but need them to put it back up. I’ll let you know if they follow through. Too bad as I wanted another large sun sail.
Several years ago I went through Rader Awning to get my shade sails installed in my backyard through their installer, and also purchased the shades from Rader Awning. From start to finish the entire process was filled with rude incompetent people, and the final install was completely different than discussed; but I was fine with the shade just being up so I could be rid of my interactions with them. Years later, the shades started to come apart, and knowing that they used to make these specific sizes for premade sails, I decided it would be worth contacting them to see if I could purchase the sails from them (maybe the rude asinine people had left?) and give Rader Awning a second shot. The lady I talked to couldnt have been more irritated by the fact that the phone let alone rang, but that I was asking her to do something. I was told that they have never made sails you could just pick up here, I dont know what you think youre talking about and that they ONLY do custom shades. I then was so bold as to ask her for a price quote to which she gave a loud sign and said yeah... sure... in a very condescending tone - maybe thats her only way of speaking. Each sail would cost $650 to replace. While I was waiting for her to stab the numbers out on her computer I found the same size sails from several online suppliers with the same dimensions ranging from $100-$150; meaning Rader Awing was 6 times more expensive just to have the pleasure of whatever product they throw out at you - which I am assuming you better like it or theyll treat you even worse.I can say now having come into contact with this company twice, and being stupid enough to give them money once, you could do MUCH MUCH better somewhere else, and be treated decently. How they stay in business is certainly a mystery to me, but I know I wont be making the mistake again of giving them any money let alone the time of day. A little research for shades online, and using a general contractor for installation is the way I should have gone in the first place - I hope this saves other people the headache and insult of daring the dial their number; because to them, youre just wasting their time by existing.
I had my awnings installed about 2 weeks ago. The installer could not complete the installation due to not having the parts needed. According to him, he had never installed an awning with a cutout prior to mine. He then took photos to show his supervisor, and assured me that someone would contact me right way to finish the job.I have called the office 3 TIMES after having received my second bill to pay the due balance.Interesting enough, my sales person was pleasant to deal with and so was the installerThe company internally seem to have a big communication challenge that makes me wonder how much they really care for their customers.I’m very disappointed with their customer services and do not recommend them.
Best awning company in southwest, by far.
This is the second time Ive dealt with Rader Awning. Their product and installers are great, but their administrative side is horrible.Case in point... First time I had them install a shade curtain in our patio was a big surprise when the shade I desired to BLOCK OUT the West setting sun actually let the sunset in. Apparently, even after being told the function of the shade, they put a fabric which was said to block out 95% of ????. In this case I was told that I should have told them I wanted a completely opaque shade - which I thought I had communicated. Strike One. They changed up the fabric to something satisfactory - for a fee - and installed it. One evening we were sitting down having dinner on the patio and had the shade down. The wind was brisk. A gust game along and guess what?... The shade comes crashing down. Apparently they had put in drywall screws to mount the brackets instead of lag bolts. Now this is no small shade as its 17 across. Strike Two.Today I was expecting them to come at 9:00 am to install a second shade to match the other (in another patio opening). I waited 30 minutes before calling to see what the holdup was. The gal on the other end of the phone stated that we were not on the schedule. Huh?! I talked to Rocky a few weeks ago who stated that they had not done the pre-set (which should have been done weeks ago) and that it was to have been done following our conversation. Well, apparently it never got done. Now begins the cluster. After expecting a 2 hour install from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, I finally sit her composing this review at 4:54 pm! They left only 30 minutes ago and did install the shade. Armando, one of the installers, was cordial and apologetic. Strike Three.I called following the install and talked to Jill and I essentially gave her a piece of my mind, albeit I did hold back a bit. To her credit she gave me a $75.00 discount. While it doesnt cover what time I lost waiting for them, at least it was an effort at damage control.A word of warning to all. If you decide to do business with them, make sure that you call and then call again, to ensure that production and scheduled install are proceeding as planned. Theyve got a serious internal communication issue.
Radar Awning just installed a retractable awning at our home. Noel came out and wrote an estimate while he was there. We choose a fabric that day and placed our order. It took about 30 days to be fabricated and was installed with no problems at all. I recommend them highly for any awnings or coverings.
Wow! What great people and service. The awning for our pop-up camper got ripped away from the plastic piece that slides into the track on the camper. I called Rader and they said to bing it by so they could look at it. I took it over yesterday. The woman up front, Jarelle, called to the back and one of their workers came up front, looked at the awning and said they would have in finished in about 30 minutes! I went back a little later and he was finished and it only cost $45. Highly recommend these guys.
The absolute best place to get awnings for our home and business. Great staff, workmanship and price.
Not happy they got my hopes up saying they could do something turns out they cant
