I live far from the South Valley, but because Brakes Unlimited was so highly rated on Google, I took a chance and made the long drive to have my front brakes done. I was super impressed with Dave and his work. We dropped my car off around 9am and by noon I had a quote for the job. By 2:30p my car was ready to go. This is not a fancy shop, so if you need a pretty check-in desk with gourmet coffee and comfy chairs, then this isnt the place for you. BUT, if you want an honest, mechanic with great experience and fair prices, then Brakes Unlimited is for you! Dave showed me the brakes and roters that were replaced, recommended work for my rear brakes and gave me a time frame he felt they should have attention so I can budget for the job. Believe the great reviews. Dave is a great mechanic, and I highly recommend his shop. Thanks!

Honest mechanic! Heard the breaks squeaking. Was prepared to replace all 4 pads. Looked at pads and saw there was 50% life left on each pad. Could not figure out where the squeak was coming from when the breaks were applied. Big Daddy Dave discovered that the squeak was caused by my tire cleaner. If the tire cleaner gets on the pads or disc it can cause a squeak. Dave saved me money for another 5-8k miles and didnt charge me. Ill be back to see Dave in 5-8k.

I was in town on business when I heard noise in my brakes and found Brakes Unlimited and its reviews. Dave was able to get me in right away. I needed brakes on the front of my truck, Dave went over several options on how we could make the repairs needed along with the different prices. He let me decide not pushing any one option. I was able to watch part of the repairs and saw how detail oriented he was. I have worked as a journeyman mechanic in the past so I can say he did excellent work. If I ever needed work while in Albuquerque I would not hesitate to go back.

Dave is like one of those mythical creatures that you claim to have seen but no one ever believes you. Daves shop is a mom and pop, one-man business who is affordable, does quality work and most importantly... is bluntly honest. After my brakes started to squeak, I dropped of my 97 Expedition to see what was going on. After looking it all over he told me what needed to be replaced and what was still in good shape. After the work was completed, he also showed me the parts he replaced and explained to me visually where they were bad. Ive since had him weld on a new muffler for me as well and will definitely keep him in mind for future repairs. I highly recommend big daddy Dave!

Does all his own work gives a good warranty and gets the job done w only what you need not tried to sell stuff you dont need hes great totally recommend him! Will be going back hell always be my go to break guy wont let anyone else touch my brakes.
