It was obvious from the first minute that Karen and Richard really know their business. We had emailed information regarding our old, broken Hunter Douglas pleated shade. These folks are organized! We walked into their beautiful store and Karen showed products, explained functions, discussed options, and wrote the invoice -- all at the same time. When the replacement product arrived, Richard did careful, organized, impeccable, installation work and passed along useful knowledge all the while. We will use only 505 Interiors for all our future window shade products and work.
Weve been very happy with 505 Interiors. Several beautiful Hunter Douglas shades were installed in our home six years ago, by a different company that has gone out of business. After years of daily use, the shades needed a tuneup and a few repairs. I found 505 Interiors online and made an appointment and should have done it sooner. Richard came to the house and took the shades that needed to be sent in for repair. The repairs were complete about a week later, and Karen called me to schedule a time for Richard to come back and install them and do a tuneup of all our shades in the house. He made adjustments and small repairs to several of them but, more importantly, gave me a terrific tutorial of how to care for them myself. Life is busy and we were neglecting our shades, but having them work perfectly again is much appreciated!
I was stuck with a new remote that chose not to work at a bad time. Called 505 and was fortunate to connect with Richard who knows Hunter Douglas products by heart. He guided me to a solution by phone and even sent instructions to my phone so I could press on to a solution. He is an expert and a gentleman worthy of both titles. From the moment we walked in we could feel that we were not welcomed. I dont know if it was our casual attire or something else entirely but being part of a minority you know when you are being judged.Not offering your business because you think someone cant afford it is not a great way to run a business. Missed out on great paying customers.

The service rep was able to come out and service out blinds quickly and for a very reasonable price, especially since they no longer make our model of blinds.
Did an excellent job throughout the entire process of selecting and installing drapes for my entire house. I was pleased that they volunteered suggestions to help reduce costs and did not attempt to push unnecessarily expensive fabrics or accessories. The installation was very professional and well done, and the equipment for operating the drapes is high quality resulting in very smooth movement for opening and closing. Overall I highly recommend them...I cannot imagine living without drapes now!
A couple of years ago we had Hunter Douglas blinds by a dealer that is no longer in business. Two of them started malfunctioning. We called 505 Interiors to see if they could service them. Their repair person Richard arrived on time and very well prepared. He was able to repair one blind with no problems. But the other was stubborn. Richard suggested the local Hunter Douglas repair center, and that he could take it or we could. We decided for Richard to take it. It took a couple of trips for the repair Warranty Repair Center to replace all the non-working parts, but Richard took care of everything, keeping us well informed and always showing up on time (a big plus for us!) and very friendly.
Where do I even start. Such incredibly unprofessional customer service. I received a call back from 505 interiors after the place that installed our blinds went out of business and they took up that businesses customers. We were having a problem with our blind and Richard came out and diagnosed that The batteries were dead and needed to be replaced. He did not have a ladder with him to replace the batteries so did not follow through on that. We then talked about having somebody come out and give us an estimate to electrify the blinds so we no longer had to deal with the batteries. I was feeling hesitant about the cost of electrifying the blinds but decided to follow through and get a quote anyways. The date they set up for me did not work as we were going to be out of town. I talked to his wife Karen who said she would call me back with a different date to have someone come out and give an estimate. One month later still no call back so I called and left a message inquiring about when we could get the estimate. One week after leaving that message I receive an incredibly aggressive and hostile call from Richard yelling at me telling me he cannot come and replace my batteries, which I already knew. I let him know we’re just looking to get an estimate to electrify our blinds. When I told him he was being aggressive he admitted it and just kept communicating in the same hostile and aggressive manner. When I tried to explain to him about the last conversation I had with his wife Karen and how her and I had discussed figuring out a different date for a quote he refused to listen to me, talked over me and then hung up on me. Completely unprofessional and confused in their communication with each other. I don’t care what kind of day you’re having, it is completely unacceptable for a professional to call a potential customer and be hostile and aggressive and yell at them on the phone. If you want consistency and competency in communication as well as common courtesy and respect this IS NOT the place for you.

Richard came out to my house to reprogram and put batteries in my shades that use a remote. He was very professional and took the time to show me how to do everything. Great service and price was very reasonable. Thank you!
From start to finish this has been one of the best experiences ever! I had called our previous blind service number only to find they were out of business. Karen called me back and explained that her company was picking up these “lost”calls. She scheduled my service call with ease and quickly. Her husband Richard came out and provided the needed service to our shades. Furthermore Richard showed me some tips and tricks for using our “pebble” to activate the blinds. We discussed types of batteries and he explained why some perform longer and better than others when placed where extreme temperature changes occur. He even showed me how to recalibrate the action of the blinds should they begin not working correctly.I highly recommend 505 Interiors! They are friendly, prompt, helpful, and reasonably priced. I had warranty work done on blinds that were installed by another dealer (who is no longer in business). 505 Interiors was great to deal with. If I need more window coverings I will definitely go to them first.
Rich did a great job installing electrical supply to our blinds motors. He also re-programmed our blinds remote control and corrected for a signal strength problem. Service appointment was actually met earlier than scheduled, professional, and efficient.

Richard and Karen of 505 Interiors are very knowledgeable and informative. Most of all their customer service is excellent. I purchased HunterDouglas blinds 20 yrs ago and just had an issue with a couple blinds after all these yrs. After calling and speaking with Karen and explaining my issues she had me come in and bring my blind to their office and had it fixed in 3 days. I was considering purchasing new blinds, after she saw the shape they were in she suggested of just repairing instead of purchasing, which saved me money. Richard took time to give me some pointers on how to maintain the blinds since they were 20 years old and that style that we purchased wasnt available anymore. Bottom line great customer service and theyre not just looking to take you for a purchase but help you in any way whether its with their technician or purchasing new!
Online searches for blinds and shades present challenges. However, 505 Interiors provide an informative setting in their storefront with Karen guiding selections and offering extraordinary knowledge in doing so. Richard comes on site and brings that same knowledge to measuring and helping the client visualize their choices. Custom shades are manufactured and delivered in just a few weeks and installation is clean and efficient. In our case, the result was transformative to the space receiving the window coverings. Richard and Karen are both terrific to work with. Once again Richard saved us from purchasing a replacement custom shade. Instead he unexpectedly made a repair and charged us only a very reasonable service charge fee. We are continually impressed with 505 Interiors. They have always treated us really well. I have actually never written an online review before for a business, but I had such an excellent experience w/ Karen and Rich that I am so pleased to write a review on their behalf. From the start, it has been a pleasure. Their customer service is first rate - from the initial phone call, to the complementary visit for fitting (we did interior shutters as well as blinds), to the installation - all was so smooth. They matched their schedule to mine. We have a very old home w/ extremely uneven window frames - I still have no idea exactly how he made it work, but Rich took over 8 hours installing 5 shutters, troubleshooting and woodworking to make them look PERFECT. He has true attention to detail - you will not be disappointed at the efforts he goes to and the finished product. Id also like to say how appreciative I was of Karen in the purchasing process - shutters are costly by nature and she never made me feel pressured to buy. In fact, she encouraged me to think about it before moving forward or doing it in steps - which companies/owners focused on a quick sale would never do. They are a true family-owned business who put customers first. And of course, the Hunter Douglass shutter quality is fantastic.
If youre like me, then customer service is a very important aspect of any purchase I make. I needed parts for my blinds that were very hard to find. I contacted Karen at 505 Interiors and she took her time to find me a vendor that was able to get me the parts I needed. Karen was very knowledgeable in what I was looking for. The total order was slightly over $15.00, but the time and effort that Karen went through to find me what I needed was Customer Service at its finest. Last year I was looking to change the look of my living and dining rooms and get rid of my tired window coverings. I went blind shopping. I went to several small shops and a few department stores looking for ideas. 505 Interiors was on my list of small shops. I THINK Karen and Rich have MORE and do it BETTER than any of the stores I visited.This year I added a master suite to the first floor of my home, and 505 Interiors did the window treatments. I have a 4x6 window that looks to the west. Before I get out of bed, I can use the REMOTE and open the blinds to welcome the beautiful morning. What a great idea that was!!!

You diagnosed my shades problem, took it back to the shop, and returned it to me, repaired, in 2 hours!You reinstalled the shade and even fixed the crank that opens the window! Terrible Service! The owners seemed very nice at first, however provided very bad service. The chose not to explain that I would need a new rod in order for my boys custom curtains to work properly. At the time of installation, I realized they were not working well. I was told that I needed a new rod, and that would be more money. I had already spent thousands of dollars on childrens curtains. I think this business focused too much on a quick sale. I wish they would have focused on establishing a good relationship with their customers for repeat business. I own three homes, and am currently building a new home. They have now lost out on my future business.
Karen and Rich were so pleasant to work with! I knew as soon as they started to explain their business and how they worked that I didnt need to look any further. My husband and I had a pretty good idea what we wanted and they made the process so easy, and it was only a few weeks and they were installing my new shades, and they are just beautiful! I have high windows on a 14 foot wall, which give me a view of the mountains, but also let in a lot of heat during summer mornings. They suggested cordless blinds with a remote since the windows are so far out of reach, and cords dangling would not be a good look for my house. I can open or close any or all of them at once with the touch of a button and the house is much more comfortable. Richard and Karen do a great job.

The plastic cord pull for my custom blinds cracked & broke so I went to my store to get a replacement, only to discover they had gone out of business. So I Googled Hunter Douglas and found 505 Interiors. Today I stopped in, and even though I hadnt purchased the blinds from them, Karen & Richard gave me VIP customer service. I left with a replacement cord pull, plus a spare, free of charge. I can only imagine the excellent service an actual customer would get.

Rich and Karen fail at customer service. They were helpful at first. I have had continuous problems with one of the blinds I bought from them and now they just ignore me when I call. Spent a lot of $ at their store and feel they should be more responsive. They actually told me they felt as though I was being deceitful and taking advantage of them. Both of them were rude, condescending and they made it perfectly clear they didn’t like me. They lacked professional, business like behavior. I would never buy from them again!! I Bought my Hunter Douglas Blinds several years ago and have been very happy with them. However, service has been less than expected until now. I was referred to 505 Interiors by All About Blinds, who have ceased doing service. When I talked to Rich Hauter he was able to schedule a service call in the next two days, even though he had to come from Albuquerque to my home up on top of a mountain in Santa Fe. Rich arrived on time and was able to diagnose my problem and fix it. Afterwards he walked me through the diagnosis and repair so that I can avoid this problem in the future. Rich was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend him and 505 Interiors.
My wife Barbara and I contacted Richard and Karen on the recommendation of good friends. I trusted their assessment of the work that was done for them, but had no idea what to expect when Richard came to our home, and may I add exactly on time, to measure and discuss with us the options for window coverings. Richard painstakingly answered all our novice questions since all the window coverings came from a well known retail source, or were well over twenty years old. My husband and I bought a new home that had no window coverings at all. We left a message with 505 Interiors, and in no time they got back to us. Rich came with some samples, and in under 30 minutes my husband and I were able to make a color and shade selection that has turned out to be perfect.After we got the color selection made, Rich then took the time necessary to accurately measure the windows and asked questions that allowed us to make good decisions about how to move forward.The installation itself was very quick. The only problem I encountered were issues with the installation of the app on my phone for the shades. It did seem that our internet service was having small glitches that day that ended up causing delays, but none of them were in the 505 Interiors end of things.I cant recommend them highly enough. Love the new shades.
Karen and Rich were impeccable. I have had a problem with the fabric on my blinds and on both occasions they cheerfully insisted that the factory replace the blinds. Then Rich arrived, and installed. We bought our blinds from another vendor who has since closed. 505 services the Hunter Douglas shades so we called them for repairs just by using their reviews on-line. What a good move on our part. They are so very responsive and professional. We havent had the experience of using them for new blinds but when we need them, they will be our choice. Lovely people.
Last summer another company had completely FORGOTTEN to order my blinds which by the way did finally come in. They were installed with errors in the installation. I was also told it couldnt be fixed. I called Karen and Richard describing my very expensive experience and with their reassurance and Richards expertise it was corrected on the first visit with one large screw and a minor adjustment. Richard was here within a couple of days of contacting them and no changes to the schedule. Simply put its a pleasure to do business with a company that does what they say will do and when they say they will. Karen and Richard are the best.

I was wanting to use a local business and was trying to get quotes/ schedule an appointment for two homes we currently have for sale. Update: Got a phone call asking what my last name was to report me to google for a bad review. Apparently this is what they do; report bad reviews to google and have them taken down to keep their 5 star rating. WOW. Take the constructive criticism and do better.
