Once you put your earnest money deposit down, prepare to wait months without any communication from the sales office. In our case this lack of communication occurred before we were even able to receive final numbers to being financing. We decided to back out of the deal after being told multiple times by the General Manager that they “we’re going to be able to work with us”.Buyer Beware.
Clayton Homes has been a great group of people to work with to get my new home. It was an awesome experience to go through with them. Tosha Gannon is super sweet and very through at her job!
Matt was awesome to work with - attentive, detail oriented, sincere and kind. He responded right away all the time and worked hard to work on what we wanted…even with all my crazy questions and unusual requests. Beautiful homes sold by good people. Way to go Matt and Clayton Alcoa!!!
I was moving to Dandridge so I needed to purchase a mobile home so I went to a local Clayton homes near Dandridge but I then decided to go to Clayton homes in acola hwy and they we the best and most kindest people I had ever meet. First off they showed me several homes I told them what I could pay down what I could afford to pay a month because of being on disability and they helped me pick out a home got my payment what I could afford them keep in contact with me until and after the home was delivered I just love their whole staff not one bad experience with them Cecilia was the sweetest and most pleasant person to speak with I am so happy I drove a little out of the way to purchase my home I promise you won’t be disappointed if you give them a try they are the GREATEST 5 stars and above for me
Highly recommend looking elsewhere.. They’ll tell you 4-8 months but looking at 1-2 years. Once they get your $1k deposit communication dies off almost entirely. Not an easy process at all.
Matt was great! Answered any and all questions I threw at him. Due to some unexpected circumstances we were not able to complete the purchase. However when we do, we will return.
The staff was so very nice. The homes are absolutely gorgeous.
Very disappointed in setting of the home. Plumbing had to be replaced. Cost of $2000.00 to be replaced. Screen still missing, storm door not set right, Very Very disappointed.
My folks bought a house there and Jose took such good care of them! Ive been out there a few times myself. Kind, caring folks and very knowledgeable about the house-buying experience. Highly recommend.
Rude manager and uninformed staff. Do yourself a favor and try a different location.
I inquired about purchasing a home and have been pre-approved through one of their lenders but can’t get anyone to contact me back.
Great homes selection & customer experience
Max is great!! We were walk around million times in and out every houses. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He answered every questions we asked (we asked a lots!) I would recommend Max to anyone who’s looking to buy a home here.
We would NOT RECOMMEND CLAYTON HOMES IN ALCOA. Edgardo and his wife Cecelia are LIARS. Our house was made half fast. Emailing Cecelia and getting a reply was like pulling teeth. This office has the WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Edgardo and Cecelia should be fired. They should go back to Texas or Mexico. Go to another office, Knoxville was SO much better. We are SO disappointed with the Alcoa office.
We met with Daphne Hill at the Alcoa location to take a look at the Super 68. Daphne was phenomenal! She knew her product and answered all of our questions. The home was beautiful. Much more than we expected. We chose to purchase another home that was already built but it was an extremely hard decision to make.
Daphne Hill is an wonderful professional. She has been a pleasure to work with. She is knowledgeable, kind, and is genuine in helping folks find a home and at the best value. Thank you for the great service!
When moving a over size load they have no clue what they are doing block us in for another a hr then the guy in last over size truck got out like he was going to fight someone because everyone was saying how they are not doing right job cops had to come and give them a ticket so for a business they need lots of help
CLAYTON homes offers a spacious 5 bedroom double wide for the clearance price of around 90.000, I hope it is still available when I receive my tax refund. If not, there are so many affordable choices. The salesman took the time to show me three homes that were within my familys needs. I had a great experience.
Couldn’t be more unhappy with the people building of my new home. They said they would have the house finished in a month and it’s been 4 mouths and still haven’t moved in. Would recommend this company for anyone trying to move in soon or fast anytime soon.
A waste of time!
Very friendly, helpful people
Was impressed about space and high quality interior finishes in the exhibit houses.Customer service is a remarkable signature from Max and team!
Cameron Smyth was very helpful and did not push nor vulture us. He listened to what we are looking for, made some great suggestions, and showed us some options. Though he told us we were welcome to look around it was just too cold!! We look forward to working with him! Thanks!
Affordable housing must be a right for all. Thank you, Clayton Homes, for providing high quality housing options that are budget friendly.
Not to bad if your look to buy dont seem like they really want to sell but I think that the banks lol jk
I enjoyed being able to explore each model at my own pace.
Great people
Found the new home we were looking for.
Fantastic service!! Ryan was great!! Love my home and experience! Treated like family before and after I purchased the home! Very Happy!
The salesman called me begging me to change his one star review so Ill explain. He said he had two models to show me. But when I got there he didnt have what I was looking for. While were looking at there closest example he said The factory builds ten a day. The salesman totally lost interest in talking about the home I was interested in when I told him that I wanted to think about it. Then he says hell need me to place an order six month in advance to received it when I need it. 3600 units a year and it will take 6 months. Cheap plastic phausets, the salesman said those would have to be replaced. Cheap carpeting and a tiny, inadequate furnace. Like a car once you pull it off the lot it looses value. Meantime your paying lot rent, making mortgage payments, replacing phausets and cheap carpeting and listening to the tiny furnace run all day to keep you warm or cool. Mobile homes from the factory are made very cheaply. I lived in mobile homes for 20 years. Take it from me, Buy used and let someone else take the hit.
Nicely kept area, friendly staff but the person I was working with said text me its best. I did and its been over a week with no answer. I can take my business elsewhere.
After Jack and Malia Doane left things changed. Our home came in 120 days agofrom today. We are finally close to getting into it by the end of the month. But every-thing has been a fight to get things done. They still havent installed the chimney stackfor the fireplace, left broken block and hitches on our lot. They did respond back aboutchimney stack, well see if we can get someone to install it. You shouldnt have to fightto get everything done.
New Management, We will wait and see if they are any better.
Didnt like the fact that I was talked to the entire time I was there.alittle time to look at future investments would be great and better financial capability would great as well.
The Doanes know how to get you into the home of your dreams.Been doing business with this office for 20 years. Ryan and Jack were awesome!
Have closed on our property Feb. 20th and still waiting to get in our house. Didnt start on land improvement until the middle/end of March. Was told June 28th they would be done on house and closing would be up to our mortgage company. Went to the house and saw alot still needed done. We are now in hotel until its done. Gave up our apartment to early! This will be the last house we buy EVER!!!
We were told by our Mortgage lender that this was the best location to use. We were told to ask for Lindsey. So, we called three or four times for her and eventually left a message. She never called back. So, we wasted our Saturday morning and drove down hoping to find her or help in general. I was told by another employee that she wasnt there and we could take some keys all look at a few on our own. As we came back from looking, the employee we spoke to claimed he didnt want to step on another employees toes, so he took our information again and said hed have her call us. A week later, nothing. No calls from anyone and I guess I wont be expecting one. Seriously dissapointed. I guess we will try another company.
Great homes but not a good place to work if you are a contractor with the new owners..go to the Strawberry Plains location
Went to look into a home and just wanted to see what we could get approved for. Neither me or my girlfriend wanted a hard credit inquiry on our credit reports. We asked the salesman three times if we would get a hard credit inquiry if we filled out an application and was told all three times that it would only be a soft credit pull. One week later we both got hard credit inquiries on our credit reports. When we went to confront them on it, the employee explained to us that the salesman probably didn’t know the difference between a soft and hard credit inquiry. Longer into the conversation, the person we talked to actually asked my girlfriend to explain the differece between a soft and hard credit inquiry. If the salesman didn’t know the difference, he should have told us instead of pretending to know what he was talking about. Vanderbilt needs do a better job of training salesmen into knowing basic questions about credit and inquiries. We will not do business with Clayton Homes or and Vanderbilt Morgage affiliate, and encourage others to be very cautious.
I went to clayton for a rent to own property. They seemed to be informative and helpful but in the end everything they said to me was false. They do run your background call references and deny your loans. They said that they told me all of these things but they never did. I specifically asked them these things and they said as long as I made my payments and put down the $1000 that I would get the place. It was all a lie to get me to apply. I will not deal with them in the future. Wasted a month waiting for them to call me back when I could have found something else.
Really not happy we closed May 16 of this year. Going on making 2nd mortgage payment and still not in our home. I feel Im doing follow up work and verifying work orders and such are done. I feel that the saleman says what i want to hear to blow me off. Some things were blamed on weather but after verifying orders and things to be done. Found out that I was lied to by salesperson. I feel for the length of time its taken I should be somehow compensated. Truth homes there are beautiful but I would not recommend Clayton.
Done right.... display homes are layed out like a tight neighborhood..... Good variety and varied prices....mm
Nice people will work with you on the price of the homes and the movers are nice as will
Amazing Service! Ask for Ryan! Couldn’t be Happier or more pleased with my experience!!!
Awesome homes, great prices and friendly staff.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
The workers here are rude and judgemental. Although they have nice mobile homes.
Nice friendly staff. Great homes.
Great customer service! Ryan was always available to answer questions and solve problems.
I just went there for an inquiry. Most of the sales people were not there. Neither was the realtor. I went ahead and looked online for my answers.I have nothing against them, just that there was no one there that could help me.
Worst place to buy a home they want do anything they say they will and take forever to give you the keys to your home I would never buy another home here again
Best mobile and manufactured home retail center in Maryville and Alcoa! Jack and the team are fantastic!
