Super friendly staff loaded my semi quickly was in and out with my load in 15 minutes. Would gladly pick up here again.

These guys entered the wrong mileage on the truck I rented and when I asked them to correct it, the owner said not to worry about it and they will fix it. Not being the fool he must have thought I was, I insisted they correct it before I left with the truck. They changed it but it was wrong again! Finally, they corrected it a third time, or so I thought, so I left. As it turn out, it was wrong again, and if I didn’t have a picture of the odometer when I left, I would’ve been stuck paying the extra mileage - like about a thousand miles extra! 3 times they entered the mileage and all 3 times, it was under reported, which would have left me with a huge mileage bill. I believe they’re scammers so beware!

They got us what we needed to get home

We went in on Sunday afternoon to get our propane tank refilled. There were two guys inside and not a customer in sight. We told the men that we wanted to get our tank refilled and he immediately got an attitude wanting to check the date on our propane tank. It was brand new when we bought it three months ago. The man instructed us to pull to the propane filling area and stated he would be right out. We sat at the propane area for 10 minutes and the man didn’t come. We rang the bell for service and waited another 10 minutes. Still nothing. We finally decided to leave. If you don’t want to fill propane tanks don’t offer the service. This was our first time trying U-Haul for propane and it will be our last. We are moving in January and will need a moving truck...we will not be renting one from U-Haul. Complete lack of customer service!

I have been in customer service for 30 yrs & never would I treat another human being the way Raymond Larrison treated me when I was there. He humiliated me & made me feel like an idiot when I had questions this person should never deal with other people just a rude nasty person other than that the truck was great

I am going to come back and write a detailed review, but for now Im just going to say that the U-Box moving system is the worst moving system I could ever possibly imagine. In the end it is going to have taken me 12 hours to move out of my 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 2,400 square foot house.

Vehicle in good shape. The EMPLOYEES are the reason we will all be replaced by machines soon. You have lots of choices in the Alcoa / Maryville area. Use someone who actually wants your business. These guys don’t.

Over the top service! Very informative and helpful staff. Moving truck was in great shape and to top it off they had odds and ends available at checkout which were needed during the move I mistakenly forgot. I will use again and reccomend highly!

We made a reservation but, when we called to confirm they said that it had not been working properly. No worries they had plenty of what we needed and they would be there til 5PM. We show up at around 3:30PM and NO-ONE is there. I call the phone # and the gentleman said he was at lunch and could not get back to the office til around 4:40. We could not wait so we went to another U HAUL. This U HAUL the gentleman looked at us like we was ignorant. Never smiled,said thank you or anything. We told him that we wanted it one-way and would drop off in Memphis. He gave us a drop off destination and my daughter called to see if they had storage there. She canceled her other storage unit so we could unload the U HAUL and drop off in the same place. We get there and they dont do U HAUL and havent for over a month. It begins to storm and rain, we are in a town we know NOTHING about trying to figure out where to drop this U Haul off. Needless to say I called customer service and the young lady that answered sounded as if she was still asleep. Needless to say, I believe we are done with U HAUL.

Prompt, courteous service; knowledgeable staff. The mechanic even repaired a loose wire on my factory wiring harness that he noticed when installing trailer wiring and hitch! I decided to add a plug mount while they did the install, and was only charged for part, no extra installation fee. Recommended by our car dealer (they send vehicles there for hitches, also). Will use again to hitch other vehicle.

These people are the best! I rented 2 large storage area years ago, have rented trucks from them and yesterday called to have harness on my Forester repaired/replaced. They booked me today for 11 AM. The young guy Dillon who spoke with me was courteous and professional. Do not go anywhere else!

Wow! The best word to describe the service here! John Webber and his team saved us from a disastrous vacation. Our transmission burned up on the way to our campground while towing our camper. We had to leave it in a shop to be repaired and we were able to rent a pick-up from this U-Haul location to pull our camper the rest of the way and enjoy our vacation. John had us on the road again in about 10 minutes max! And when we returned the truck several days later, we were in and out in the same time, about 10 minutes! Awsome service. Thanks John and the U-Haul team.

Prior to this year we hadnt rented from U-Haul since the early 90s, and based on our experience it will probably be another 25 years before we rent from them again. The cost, when factoring in the added insurance (be warned: most consumer insurance plans wont cover trucks!) was substantially cheaper than competitors, though this was pretty much the only good thing I can say about our rental experience.First, if their vehicles seem more attractive because they are a few feet longer, keep in mind that U-Haul counts the small nook above the cab in their extra length. If youre thinking is there really such thing as a 17 foot truck? then youre correct... its actually a 16-footer when measuring floor space.Okay, so we dont get that that extra foot after all, its just a marketing ploy. Their 17 foot was still cheaper than the 16 foot truck we almost rented elsewhere, so I didnt mind. Well, U-Hauls business model relies on them making a bunch of money on add-on extras such as boxes, dolly rental, and similar items. Thats handy if you need, and if your moving budget can accommodate, but if you dont... I requested no dollys or furniture pads when I made the reservation, but when I picked up the truck I found that a big package of both (two cubic yards in total) was strapped to the wall of the truck just beside the rear door using security tabs that, if broken, would incur a fairly hefty rental charge. Employees told me that it was part of the truck and had to stay on it, and that I was welcome to break the seal and move it if it got in the way, but that if I did so I would be charged even if I didnt use the items. So, there it had to stay, strapped to the sidewall, making it difficult to load and unload our furniture around.Speaking of the truck itself, sure they have pretty graphics, but ours was in the worst shape of any box truck Ive ever rented. And the cab smelled like it had been freshly smoked in, to boot. It was almost comical watching the staff member who checked us in while they made two slow passes around the entire vehicle checking over every one of the many dents, dings, scratches, scrapes, busted fixtures, and rust spots to make sure that every single one had already been documented and accounted for. Heaven forbid that they find a new one without a little X sticker plastered over it, because as a pamphlet explains theyll charge you for each... $20 for this, $50 for that... not that it appears based on the condition of the truck that they ever actually perform the repairs. Fortunately we didnt have any new damage and didnt have to worry about this.Remember those extra add-ons? We picked up a bunch of cardboard boxes because theyre actually very good boxes, and because they say theyll buy back the unused extras. When we went to return ours, though, I found that the employees were extremely reluctant to actually honor this policy, and made it such a hassle that Ive sworn never to purchase another box from this company again. There was some issue with the way the boxes were rung up in the first place (some on one receipt, some on the one with the truck rental charges) and one of the managers even went so far as to accuse me of stealing some extra ones to sell back fraudulently. Finally another employee stepped in and did issue me a refund, but he made sure to let me know what a huge hassle I had caused by trying to return them.
