Great Furniture Store and Cheryl was amazing to work with. We had her all over the place, from designing our own Dining room set to actually finding one in their clearance section, to home office furniture and back to chairs. Will definitely go back in the future with any other furniture needs!

This used to be a great company but that is no longer true. Metropolitan Furniture took advantage of my elderly mother and they refuse to make things right. She spent thousands of dollars and waited months to get her furniture and now they are messing with her all the while she has no bed to sleep in. Do not give your money to this company. They have to stoop very low to mess with elderly people and take advantage of their inability to fight back. If you give your money to them, you are only asking for problems. I hope you are able to find what you need someplace else.

Great service at affordable prices!We bought a Flexsteel leather reclining sofa from them 12 years ago and it’s still in perfect condition.We decided upgrade to a power Flexsteel recliner.They were able to order us exactly what we want.Looking forward to delivery when it comes in.

Metropolitan furniture has been in business for 98 years according to a conversation with the owner. His grandfather started selling furniture from his truck. Recently they’ve updated the store in Allen Park. If you haven’t been in 2019, stop by. Their displays have been updated. They continue to carry high quality products like FlexSteel and have expanded into Amish tables, chairs and bedroom sets. There’s a lot you can easily special order, like a certain size of table or shape. They can alter a many aspects with this handmade line. A picture below shows many of the colors and wood grains available. If you don’t find what you’re looking for ask to see the catalog or talk to one of the salespeople. MF is not a high pressure furniture place where people follow you around, however, they are always nearby to answer questions. Great local business!

They do not return calls and it took 7 months to get our couch while we have been paying on it for 4 months (with supposed zero interest for a year). We got the run around for a month on where it was at. So disppointed in them as we held off buying a bedroom set, living room chair and ottoman, and the last piece to the office desk we bought. We spent 10K and would have happily spent another 5K on the new things if they had a clue and knew how to take care of a customer. We will never shop there again.

My mom saw an ad in the local paper advertising a super sale. I never heard of metropolitan furniture. I entered the location and was not impressed. After walking around the location and visiting the clearance upstairs, I had a change of heart. All the furniture is solid wood, well made and beautiful. They have designs for all ages. You must check out the clearance. If my house was bigger, I’ll fill it with furniture from here.

The store has changed dramatically over the past several years. The sales team is knowledgeable and very helpful. I just bought my second bedroom set from there. The quality and price was great. The selection is also very good. If they dont have it, they will find it. Thats how I bought my first set (only saw a picture of it.) Its still beautiful.

The store dose not stand behind ther furniture I bought a couch from day 1was not right had to 6 times to fix the couch and never did wait on owner will not talk to me

The customer service was phenomenal! Cheryl was great!! Was very detailed in her explanations. She was able to convince my mother the best fit for the sectional she was interested in!! No one in my family had been able to do so! Great experience! Would recommend to others!

Great store with great selection. Frank is the best. No pressure to buy but we did. Family owned for almost one hundred years. Really big and well done showroom. Worth the drive to buy furniture. They will haggle the prices.

The salesMEN at Metropolitan are the rudest in the furniture industry. We love to support small business and have spent thousands of dollars at this store. The BUCK stops now as under your breathe comments are not acceptable. Great customer service is the only way to keep customers. Your furniture is very pretty but your rudest is ugly. You have lost our future business.

I recently purchased 2 sofas and a dining room set from Metropolitan. I loved the store but its the people who really make a difference . Frank, Jill and Dave (delivery) all care about the customer and show a lot of pride in what they do. I hope I have the chance to work with them again.

Disappointing experience. Was told furniture would be in in 6-8 weeks it arrived in week 13 with 2 of the 3 pieces damaged. They said they had given me the best price so no adjustments were offered. I had to pay in full and hope the furniture would be repaired to new quality or return the furniture. It was returned. I will say they were very prompt in cutting me a check for a full refund for my 50% deposit.

We ordered an amish coffee table from them and it just arrived today. It looks incredible and frank was very helpful in the color selection process. The prices are fair for the quality. Im glad I was able to shop local for this item.Edit update 3/28/19: just bought a second custom made table and turned out just as good as the first, Frank even personally delivered it with his wife after hours. Customer service is clearly their number 1 priority

Truly great store with great selection of furniture - especially Amish furniture. Compared to Gormans, Hillside, Art Van, Costco and Gardener White, this is the best place to order real hardwood furniture or other furniture.

The sales personnel were very honest, helpful and nice to work with. They gave us a very good price on our Flexsteel couch, loveseat and matching chair. The order came in when promised. We traveled over an hour to Allen Park to purchase these items as no one else in the area even had this model on their floor. The set I bought is extremely comfortable and fits beautifully in my living room. The delivery people were professional as well, put the furniture where it needed to be placed and handled the furniture with great care. I would not hesitate to purchase from them in the future.

Horrible business practices! I bought an item and paid in full. They called me twice in the next few weeks to ask for more money for an order I already paid and had a receipt for. They were very rude and extremely unprofessional. With the high prices, I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere!
