I guess I was expecting more, but I am very disappointed. Start off with The hours are horrible, not convenient what so ever!The physical location of the band connection is hard to find. The office itself is very small, you can barely fit 4-5 people inside. It is cluttered inside with paperwork, no physical instruments or materials on display, at all. When you first walk in you think to yourself, am I at the right place?The cleaning kit (which is cheaper on amazon and get more oil) the music book, and a collapsible stand it was almost $55. When I signed up I was told they would deliver it to his school, thought sweet! Also he would come out for cleaning and maintenance for an additional $5, I thought okay this is cool let’s do it.Well a few weeks went by and Mr. Walker called letting me know his instrument is ready for pick up and This is 4 days before the first day of school....uhm what, excuse me? Very inconvenient for me to go up north to pick this up, especially with his 3 hour work shift! I literally had to leave work early to go pick up his instrument. THEN when I get there, I had to wait 35 minutes before getting his instrument.I guess I assumed we’d be getting a new instrument and a new case. But NOPE, scratches on both the case and instrument, and dents on the instrument!!! DENTS! The inside looks filthy, the slide has rust on it! Are you kidding me?!?!? This is what I’m paying for??? $1300+ instrument!!HIGHLY unsatisfied!!

Great service and speedy service. Got our sons instrument in less than 24 hrs from ordering. We also got a good service plan were they will go to our son’s school every so often. Wonderful on their part because of our busy schedule. Will definitely recommend to our friends.

This place has been very helpful when Ive needed anything for my sons clarinets. They have been a life saver doing repairs before a marching contest or addressing any concerns I have had (on both the student rental and the R-13 we later purchased). I dont know anything about instruments, so Im thankful they take the time to show me how things can be prevented or maintained.

Mr. Walker is a very friendly guy but after renting my trombone with the f attachment for 3 years(36 payments) he calls and says I still owe him $500 to keep the trombone. I am very confused and will take down this bad interview if Mr. Walker changes this and I can keep the trombone without the extra payment because on the website, it says $25 a month and 36 payments to own and not 36 payments to own and an extra $500. I have been a good customer of Mr. Walker and have been renting two trombone with f attachments and am very disappointed in this.

Super helpful with everything you need!! The owner is a former band parent and director and understands everything you may need. They also do repairs for fair prices and know exactly what they’re doing.

The business hours are NOT convenient if you are coming from any place other than Allen, are working parents, and/or have children involved in band and sports after school and on the weekends: 3-6p on Monday-Friday and 10a-2p on Saturdays. Mr. Walker will try to convince you that he will travel to your school district and that he is very service-oriented, but we found the communication and customer service to be poor when he did travel to our school district to try to resolve an issue. Please be aware of what the optional monthly insurance fee on your instrument ACTUALLY covers.

Worst experience ever, I couldnt return the instrument because my kid has a test but they charged me full price just because its month to month and its been 5 days. What a ripe off?? Will never use them.

Easy to rent an instrument from. Friendly staff. Office hours are limited 3-6 pm and office is inside gates of storage unit.

The Band Connection helped us make a huge decision for our 6th grader in Allen. Billy - the owner is very knowledgeable and spent many years as a Band Instructor. He knows his instruments and he knows how to guide the parent and student either a) into the right instrument or b) help them make the decision that maybe choir is better for them. Small place but great customer service. Thinking of returning everything I bought from Music and Arts just to repurchase here. Would save a lot of money doing it.

The traveling maintenance plan is not worth the $7 extra a month unless you feel your child will simply not take care of their instrument. They only visit each school twice a year! They seem very unwilling to work with you on anything. I would not receommend the band connection to anyone.

The owner of seems to really care about making sure the kids get a good instrument at an affordable rate. Our daughters school provided fliers from The Band Connection, Music & Arts and Williamson Music, all of which were companies who would provide instrument rentals for her band class.I could not believe how much more affordable The Band Connection was way ess than the other two companies, in fact, the price was less than half the cost.The owner knows most of the local band directors and from what I understand, he used to me one himself,Rent your kiddos band instrument here and save your money for their cell phone bill. lol

Mr. Walker and his staff handle every musician with personal care and interest. I get a better understanding about instruments and their care every time I go in, even if its just for supplies and books.

I am extremely disappointed and couldnt believe how the staff treated us. We just got back from Arkansas today (note thats a 5 hour drive) and we called this music store earlier today and were told if we got there by 6pm we could come pick my little sisters band equipment. So we drove and we couldnt find the store so we called the store as we drove around and finally when we find the store, Some guy answered the phone and was completely rude to us and told us we were not allowed to come in even through the lady we just spoke to said we could. Who ever that guy was, i hope he gets fired. i will not be coming back to this store ever again!!!
