It is so wonderful there, especially at night time I didnt get to see the and brightest and most colorful Christmas lights there. I know anyone who has kids please take them there and your kids will enjoy it.

Always a good time. Lines are going to be dependent on when you go. Price is fair and you can even save a couple bucks by ordering online. The line was actually slower on the prepaid then non prepaid line. Enjoyable for everyone. Sometimes even the natural wildlife will come visit and enjoy some of the lighting setups.

I wish it was back at Cedar Beach so everyone can enjoy it on foot and get to socialize with their neighbors and make friends with all who come to celebrate the season.

Growing up in Allentown, this became a family tradition when it started when I was a kid. I recently went after having not gone since I was a child, and because of which, had very high expectations for the lights as I so fondly remembered them. My expectations were met and definitely exceeded. I didnt expect to feel anything close to as awestruck as I was as a kid, but there I was, wowing, smiling, and laughing just as much as I had when I was one. I could never resist driving through without tuning in to (and singing along with) their provided holiday music station, of course. The display has obviously grown throughout the year, and it looks simply fantastic. The hard work of the volunteers definitely shows. Though it was a pretty extensive wait to actually drive through as I didnt purchase advance tickets, thankfully the people driving in front of and behind me understood the unspoken LITP rule of hanging a car length or more behind. It allows each car to experience the full experience of the lights without being diluted by others braking. Definitely worth the wait to see if it still held up as an adult. The Christmas Barn at the end of the parkway was a cute little stop that I dont quite remember them having in the 90s, but I made sure to stop in to check it out. Plenty of handmade crafts and perfect little gifts for last minute Christmas shopping of the more personalized and heartfelt variety. The chocolate chip cookies I purchased at the counter were literally the best I think Ive ever had, an obvious work of a seasoned local home baker. A wonderful way to support the community, and kick off Christmas.

Of course, the best time to see the Lights in the Parkway* is during Christmas but it is nice to see the stream and people fishing, calmly enjoying themselves in May.

Review №8

What a mistake. Way overrated. Don’t waste your time on this event. They have an extremely poor system for moving cars along. If you want to pay $15-30 to lose the joy of the season and your Christmas spirit in a matter of minutes, definitely attend this horribly run event. Otherwise, don’t bother with the aggravation. You’ll wait hours upon hours to see a few lights. By the time you get in everyone is so angry, all you want to do is get home. But, you’ll wait hours more for that as well. Weeding through the mess of cars that are backed up for miles because of how badly they coordinate everything. It’s not worth it at all. We’ll never attend again. There are much better Christmas events that are managed much more efficiently in the Valley that won’t destroy your night. Absolute waste of a night. They won’t refund you either.

I wish I couldve given this 0 stars. We purchased tickets ahead of time online thinking we were assured admission. Granted we went on the last Saturday before Christmas, so the setting was bound to be hectic, but the Allentown Fire Police were totally incompetent and inconsiderate in their set up. We waited in line for an hour, were directed into the wrong line, forced away from the correct line and had to turn around. When we turned around we were not allowed by AFP to get back into line, upon return to the end of the line we were informed that they were closing the event, however upon telling one of the people directing traffic (only competent worker, the guy had a Vikings mask on if that helps someone commend his efforts), he told us we could enter the line. At the following intersection other members of the department had the road blocked, and thus we did not see the attraction. I cannot speak for the lights themselves as we werent allowed to see them but the people who run and organize this attraction need to figure it out. The headache wasnt worth the $16 we paid, and this sort of incompetency only further cements my pinion of Allentown. I wouldnt go back tomorrow if they gave me a free ticket. Find somewhere else that has their act together.

Was the worst! Drove from Northern NJ bout a 2 hour drive with the family. It was the WORST ever! 2 hours waiting and didn’t get in. The line had to be over a mile long. Traffic management was a joke. Used to come here for years but whoever is in charge of this should really get it together. We drove back with disappointment and had to drive all the way back to NJ just to see how a real light show was CORRECTLY organized. The line management was amazing and even with over 300+ cars, they moved everyone.

This was terrible. I drove 45 minutes to see the lights and we waited for 2 hours in line. At 8pm they shut it down and told everyone that was in line that they were done for the night. They are advertised to be open until 10. If you want to get in and see the lights you have to be there earlier than when you want to go. I was not impressed and the traffic directing was terrible.

$15 at the gate, $12 if you purchase your tickets online. Takes between 15-20 minutes to drive through going 5 mph. Kids love the lights. Great way to get into the seasonal mood! Definitely suggest this be an event that you take your kids to. My favorite light show is the Toy Soldier firing the cannon. Make sure to post your favorite light show!!!

Worst run event ever. Traffic was a nightmare. They split the line and detoured and took us 45 min to get back to the same spot. Not enough traffic police. Intersections were jammed and saw multiple cars almost get in accidents. They need to limit the number of cars or set designated times. Never coming back!

Have not been here in years. Lights were nice. You want a better experience for the people who paid 12-15$? Don’t have Work Release Inmates standing at the entrance NOT directing the traffic and or acting like degenerates. I do want to give a shout out to the one Latino brother who gave a cheerful Happy Holiday.

Absolute trash. Showed up 4 hours before close and was still about 300 cars from being let in.Most pathetic attempt at traffic management Ive ever seen. Tried to get a refund since I was unable to go and I got this message, Message from Christy:Lights in the Parkway 2017 season ended December 31, 2017. Since the program is offered for a five week time span, we do not offer refunds due to weather, as there are multiple evenings to accommodate people’s schedules. We hope to see you back in the 2018 season! Well I ordered the tickets at the end of the month on a Saturday since I work third shift and my elderly neighbors cannot go on the other days since they were gonna be out of town. So how can I go during the other 5 weeks if I only had a couple days left and had to cancel the trip due to snow at the end of the month? What do you expect from Allentown, greedy as usual!

Dont understand how these people can advertise certain hrs. on their own website, and then not keep even close to them.Shameful.
