I used to frequent the Roswell location years ago and loved it. This was my first time to the Halcyon location and although the space is nice, theyre insanely overpriced and the quality has gone way downhill. I had to do a double take at the receipt - $15 for a latte and a pastry? The pastry was awful too. Youd get better quality at a Starbucks. I didnt take more than a couple bites. Not to mention how totally uncomfortable it was ordering in their space where not one soul was wearing a mask. That alone made me want to walk out and spend my money elsewhere prior to ordering - wish I did and definitely will not return.
The place is amazing! I like the area a lot! I wasnt too impressed with my coffee the first time here. I ordered the Caramanilla Latte and it just didnt taste that good to me. It was pretty pricey for the size too which was unfortunate. My wife liked her Hazelnut Latte though. Well definitely be back to try something else again next time.
Place is great!! I loved the ambiance of this place. But I feel like it’s way overpriced for what you get. I paid $11 for a drink that was half way filled and was mostly ice. They didn’t have all ingredients that were mentioned in the drink and when asked the staff was like we didn’t have that today. They should have told me that they were missing few ingredients for that drink when I was ordering my drink. Also, when I asked about it the staff was bunch of young adult who did not give a flying s* .Maybe they can hire some experienced staff. Basically I paid $11 for half glass of ice water.. BE CAREFUL!!
I would take most of the two and three star reviews seriously. I, like many people, want to like this place but they make it so hard. The staff is unprofessional; they spend more trying to make new drinks when they can’t even make the drinks they already have on the menu. They are constantly low or out of something, I can not tell you how many times I have been in this week and they don’t have chai. Also, if you are not buddy buddy with certain members of the staff, prepare to pay full price. Most of the staff makes you feel unwelcome. The ones that do welcome you are never there. You are over paying for cheap quality coffee from this place. $8 for a beer on their “beer wall” that you can’t pour yourself. There are plenty of coffee shops in the area that have better quality of food, a staff that cares about the coffee they give you, and will not cost you an arm and a leg. Halcyon should just find a new coffer shop to replace LTH. This place is bringing down halcyon as a whole
Terribly average, but the good news is their uninvested employees dont police their supposedly private tables, so when the other tables for the food court area are full, go help yourself to their empty tables where certainly no employee is available to come tell you to move. They cant even process the volume of people at their counters let alone come outside to make sure youre actually a customer if you park yourself at their tables. Halcyon needs to right of domain half their seating and let the public food court have back half of the coffe shops empty tables.
We absolutely loved this place. 5/5. The best coffee shop that we found in Georgia(So Far). I must admit LTH is the Jewel in CROWN of Haylcon…awesomeeeee coffee, good atmosphere and Great collection of craft Beer on BEER Wall.Totally recommend this place.NOTE: Great & Amazing very well-behaved STAFF.
I want to love this place. When they first opened up they had great food options like quiche and their drinks weren’t overpriced. I feel they have less options now and prices are high for very small sized drinks. Paying $6 for 6oz of a tea or coffee anything is insane. The chai and matcha mixes are quite horrible as well & both are sweetened. Love the space, the staff are nice as well, but in the end the product matters.
Not only can I ALWAYS count on delicious beverages (either coffee-based OR non) and a classic coffeehouse atmosphere–– but our household is also hooked on their custom roasts, too! L.O.T.H. is like family now. If you want genuine banter with baristas, a refreshing environment, and delicious fair trade coffee that you can really feel good about drinking, then make Land of a Thousand Hills your very first stop!
Delicious coffee, friendly staff, lots of seating. Love the beer wall.
If I could give more stars I would. Espresso drinks are fantastic. The service is quick and also friendly. Plenty of seating aligning with social distancing regulations. The WiFi Im using the Halcyon Public Wifi, but I have not had any connection issues with the few times Ive been here. Most importantly, plenty of outlets. Im definitely looking forward to spending my virtual collegiate semester here.
I really do like Land of a Thousands Hills but I’m just going to have to start going somewhere else now. I’m just beyond frustrated. About 75% of the time I go they are out of matcha, at first it was every once in awhile but now it’s most of the time. It’s frustrating because I drive out of my way to go there. It’s like I need to call ahead of time just to make sure but I’m not doing that cause that’s ridiculous.
Great staff, Great coffee, but they were out of pastries, eggs, stevia etc etc lol
My experience at land of a thousand hills has been exceptional each visit. From the quality of the drinks, the variety of artisan pastries and a friendly smile. The only draw back is I wish that some of the beverages would come in larger sizes so that I can continue to savor the hand crafted drinks longer.
Some items would be more expensive than some Starbucks items, but it is a local coffee shop vs a corporate one, and the ambience here is always so lovely. Theres free wifi and plentiful outlets. In addition, lots of outdoor seating. Its good to come hear earlier to snatch one of their delicious croissants and their seasonal drinks always taste good (although they look like regular iced coffee.)The people here are always super friendly with me and are more than happy to explain or recommend a menu item.Theres some nice background art and a great stair case seating area. Please wear a facemask when you can and treat these workers with kindness, sometimes people are very rude to them for no good reason.
This is my favorite coffee shop in the area. It is a perfect setting for in-person meetings and getting out of the work at home environment for a little while. However, I would really like to see the ability to get coffee served in real mugs, and pastries served on real plates. Maybe they have this and I just have not asked for it, but each time I have been there, everything is served in disposables.
Great coffee, great service, great outdoor seating. However...each morning I’ve been there the music is way too loud and just bad music. And I’m not old : ) not a reason to not come here, just hoping they get something different going
I love this place! Delicious drinks, a cozy space to chat with a friend or study, and profits go to a great cause!
One word. Amazing
I love the fact that they partner with the farmers that grow the beans to ensure fair trade. The have sanitizer at the register and those serving you wear mask. I didnt say mask are required though. The coffee and service at this quaint coffee house are my favs!!! They have outside seating and the tastes range from rich and bold to mild and smooth. They even let you create flavors to mix and match to your coffee palate . If youve never tried them do.Drink coffee. Do good~land of a thousand hillsHappy Eats
Underwhelmed by the experience & the product. The online ordering system was not functional. We had to order in person (pandemic conditions) & it was not a speedy process.Unfortunately, the drinks were flavored incorrectly & one had a soured milk.Would highly recommend a better location of the franchise such as Atlantic Station or Peachtree Street in Midtown.
My go to coffee shop to hang out with friends. I go here regularly for social gatherings.
Delicious iced coffee from friendly staff. Great outdoor atmosphere. Rating 5 with a suggestion - given the pandemic, the outdoor tables should be wiped down on a regular basis and it does not appear that they are.
We have regularly gone to LTH for coffee and beer but last night we had the Charcuterie plate. It was great and the staff was as excited to be serving as we were to share it with friends. Great Experience. You do need to pre order it though.
Very relaxing and welcoming place to hang out and get work done.
The pandemic must be over at Land of a Thousand Hills at Halcyon. Stopped by today for a first time visit. Not a mask in site...including the employees...two had masks not worn properly, while one didnt even have a mask. This made us feel very uncomfortable and we left without even ordering a coffee. Hope to visit again...some day
My husband and I got their “signature lattes” at the Halcyon location. Both tasted burnt and bitter with little flavor. $5 for a latte, and we make better ones at home.
The lofty ceilings and warm tones of the furniture combine for a lively space that is suitable for studying or meeting up with friends and family. The option of having a beer is also a nice amenity.
Nice location, good amenities for hanging out to read, do homework etc. Coffee...not impressed. Asked for a large decaf, received maybe 9 oz. of coffee in a cup that was 4 1/2 inches tall. Taste- had better, weak roast, didnt grab me for the money paid. Wont go back, not even for the beer wall. LOL.
Just went there for the first time today. Wasn’t expecting it to be super crowded but it’s a cute place to do work. I thought the stair/seating was cool and I was so excited to find out that the pumpkin chai latte can be made vegan!! I will go again but not when there are too many people though.
Great staff. Really unique and laid back environment. Perfect place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and talk with friends.
Its beautiful, but Im a weakling when it comes to coffee. I like lots of milk and sugar and flavor. I got a cold brew with a pump of mocha and a splash of milk, and I needed to add much more sugar than I wanted to in order to enjoy it. Id love to go back to try a different drink, though, because it may just not have been a great choice for me!
Absolutely gorgeous space with incredibly nice baristas
Weve been to 1000 Hills Coffee a few times and we love it more every single time. The service is exceptional! All are friendly and will make recommendations upon request. Coffee itself is great. Different taste than other coffee shops, but very very good. Great setting and feel to the place!
Heard so much at this place and decided to come here to get some work done. First mistake was coming on a Saturday afternoon. They have live music which is cool just not when I’m trying to work. I didn’t even get a chance to ask about the menu before they came up to me to take my order. I got a latte. They only have one size. It was ok. I’ve had much better. There’s plenty of seating and outlets. They have stadium style seats as well. WiFi password didn’t work but I connected to the Halcyons WiFi. I ended up going to the food hall. It was much quieter.
I feel like it is too expensive for the poor quality of coffee they serve. The place and the location is great, though. I feel people come there for the location, not the coffee at all.
Beers my wife and I had from there local tap selection were very good! The guy helping us was knowledgeable and friendly. Ill be back sometime to try the coffee (too late in the day but it smelled great!). If you like local brewery beers its worth a stop to see what they have on tap for the day.
What a great coffee shop! We loved the atmosphere and the coffee was fantastic. Hope to visit it again soon.
Ordered Cappuccino and Vanilla latte. Both were good. Portions were small for the price.
I LOVE this coffee shop. I go here EVERY morning, thats how great it is. The people are great, the coffee is great and the atmosphere is welcoming. Its been a great addition to the area!
Wonderful atmosphere, very nice location, good place to relax, great coffee
Great local coffee shop that is very clean with friendly staff.
Great drinks better service. I stopped going to Starbucks.
Excellent place, very kind ownership, respectable mission.
Love this coffee place. good ambience.
The best cup of coffee in town. The Cappuccino was seriously one of the best Ive ever had. Great staff as well! Highly recommend
Great beer on tap, coffee, and wine a wonderful atmosphere. They have music bingo on Thursdays!
Arrived at 7:43 and was told they stopped offering expresso and hot coffee. They were already cleaning their machines. If you close at 8, you should continue to provide full service until 8.
Hosts hxcellent locally grown coffee and a selection of craft beers. The space has a chill atmosphere with gorillaz and new funk playing in the background. Board games are available and there is outdoor seating. Very cool place to study or just enjoy a cup of coffee.
First time at Halcyon and just came from a walk on the Greenway, thought it would be nice to try a drink here..asked what frozen drinks they had, was referred to the menu in response, ok fine ..placed order..asked for a cup of water, was told I could only have one of the tiny cups as he had to have enough for customers that ordered beers, etc..OK...offered to pay for the freaking cup .Carlos would not let me even purchase a cup of water...Thanks Carlos. For a place that boasts the do good initiative I am really surprised at the lack of customer service that was provided.
If you have never heard of Land of A Thousand Hills before, then you are in for a real treat! LOATH crafts one of a kind specialty coffee grown in Rwanda. What I love most about this organization is their heart to do good in Rwanda. Their slogan is literally Drink coffee. Do good. For every cup of coffee or product that is purchased you help to create sustainable work for coffee farmers and families in Rwanda as well as provide clean water, education and much needed healthcare for the communities that Land of a Thousand Hills supports in Rwanda. You are literally helping aid other people dealing with poverty, sickness, disease, hunger and so much more JUST BY DRINKING COFFEE! This is why they are my favorite coffee shop. Oh, and did I mention that their coffee is freaking delicious?!My favorite coffee drinks on their menu include the Caramanilla latte, Honey Bunny latte, White Mocha latte and the Rwandan Chill! I also love their Do Good blend coffee bags to brew at home.I promise you will not be disappointed, but if you are know that you are still helping someone else out that is in need!
Cute space inside with stairs and plenty of outdoor seating
Halycon is the next Avalon with the green way close by and fun exceptional living experience!!Great area with growth opportunities:)
Great atmosphere, coffee and pastries.Nice place to sit and read/work.
This is a great new spot. I have always loved the Roswell location, chill vibe, great coffee and friendly staff. This new location has all that and for a great cause. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Nice looking place coffee taste not my style. I like more bold espresso.
I got a cup of Matcha latte at the LTHHalcyon, and I was not impressed with its taste. Besides, one of the male employees was not wearing a mask while preparing for my order. It made me feel uncomfortable. I think staff members at this location need better training.
Great coffee shop. Wonderful customer service and excellent coffee!! Highly recommend!!
Fantastic coffee, great vibe, and wonderful people! Definitely going back!
Love the people, the vibes, the coffee, you name it.
Absolutely delicious coffee, service and friendliness outstanding and a super chill and comfy feel for the environment! Highly recommended!
