Ken did an excellent job on my boat. 2002 Yamaha vmax hpdi. Took it to Ken and he diagnosed the problem correctly the first time. He let me know exactly what was needed and the cost. It was a fair price for the work performed. The boat now runs better than it ever has. Thanks Ken I’ll be back in the future and I highly recommend this place for boat repair.

Took my boat to Alvin Marine after waiting for 6 weeks at another shop for service. They got on it in 2 weeks and did a professional job of repairs. Back on the water and boat has been running great for 6 months now. Motor repairs are expensive, if someone is going to do it cheaper, it probably wont be done correctly. Ill take my boat back to Alvin Marine next time to have it done right.

Updated from a previous review I had left.I would have loved to give them a 5 star review but i believe Im being fair. It took over 150 days from the time I dropped off the boat until it was ready for pickup. If the wait is that long the customer really needs to know these things beforehand and not be surprised by the long wait. That being said, the boat appears to be in working order. Ken is knowledgeable and knows what needs to be done. Id be willing to take my boat back in the future if I knew the wait wouldnt be so long because I do believe in Kens ability to get it done. Good mechanics are hard to find and I believe hes one of them.

DO NOT GO HEREWorst experience of my life!!!I paid for carburetor to be cleaned at another marina and I saw them do it. Super clean. Jets were clean. But I needed it tuned.I bring it to these jokers and they clean my carburetors when I asked them not to.Didn’t tune it.Told me they replaced the fuel pump but my initials are still on the fuel pump on it.Charged me $780.00 and won’t let me come get the boat.I prepaid them to tune the carbs.I finally paid it and it doesn’t even start !!I took it to ZnZ Boat Repair where 3 of my other friends went after Alvin marine screwed them over.Their boats run. And now does mine. Do not go here.

I took my Skeeter bass boat with a Yamaha 150 VMax to Alvin Marine for the first time after hitting a submerged stump. All of the other shops I called had 7 to 10 week waiting list and Mr. Ken at Alvin Marine took my boat right in. My lower unit was leaking oil and my prop shaft was obviously bent. It took about two weeks to get my boat back, as I expected. While replacing the prop shaft, all new seals and the water pump Mr. Ken found some issues with my carbs and resolved those issues as well for a reasonable additional cost. Once home and after a couple of days, I noticed oil dripping from my lower unit again. Called Mr. Ken, he took the boat right back in and found a small seal was the problem, boat was again turned around pretty quick and the issue was resolved at no charge.My experience overall with Alvin Marine was pleasant, they were timely considering the time of year (just before summer break), they did a good job with the work even with a factory seal issue and were reasonably priced. Kim was also very pleasant and helpful, I would recommend them to my friends and family.
