We came to Alvin Equipment on a Saturday morning, ready to purchase a tractor and several implements for our new property. Jamie met us in the lot and we started chatting about what we were looking for. After a few minutes, we went inside to sort out a deal. The tractor and finishing mower we wanted were not in stock. However, Jamie assured us that he could get us everything we needed by our deadline (the next weekend) and he did! We were up and running by Friday morning. We had an awesome experience at Alvin Equipment. Jamie was never pushy, he just helped guide us to the right equipment and gave his input on what would work best for what we wanted to do on our property. It was a very friendly and welcoming environment! We will definitely be going back for all our future equipment needs and referring our friends here as well. To be honest I usually dont do reviews but wow Im amazed with these guys Caleb was very helpful I rented a tractor and and my expectations went above and beyond. I defiantly am coming back for more business this place is amazing.

I bought my first tractor and implements - a MX5400 in November 2020, Caleb was my sales rep. I started the process with him in August. I told him that I was looking at all dealerships for the best deal and the best on going service. Caleb told me that was fine. He was always friendly, respectful and helpful. He was never pushy nor tried to lead me in a direction one way or the other.Long story shortened, I talked to better than 10 dealerships all over Texas from Corpus to Ft Worth to Lufkin to Beaumont on into Louisiana. He was not the most knowledgeable of the reps I spoke to but he was in the top 3 in terms of willingness to work for me to help me get what I wanted ... and that mattered a whole lot to me. In addition, I liked that he was young fella with that kind of a work ethic, something you dont see too much these days.I have had nothing but good experiences with the staff here, even just killing time waiting on someone - they have all been nothing but friendly and willing to help - they make you feel ok (I dont know if anybody ever feels good) about spending your money LOL, but these folks sure make it easy.

Being a first time tractor shopper, I shopped every Kubota dealer within a 50 mile radius, getting a plethora of quotes to see what was the expected price range for a tractor. After reading the other phenomenal reviews about Mr. Caleb, I decided to give him a call, to experience the great experiences that others had with Mr. Caleb. Mr. Caleb took the time to answer all of my questions and to walk me through the process of owning a tractor. What I really enjoyed about this young man was that he was extremely respectful, well spoken, had great phone etiquettes, and did not take advantage of me, being a first time tractor owner (unlike other dealers whom I will not mention). WARNING: I took my diesel Kubota utility vehicle with less than 100 hours so its basically new, here to get a diagnostic because it was dying on me, after a couple of weeks they call me and said that the fuel filter housing needed to be replaced and the fuel filter and the total for the repairs was gonna be 440.00 I said okay no problem go ahead and fix it, knowing that It’s a Kubota dealer that we’re supposed to trust, big mistake. After they called me and told me it had been repaired I went and picked it up and brought it back to my ranch. As soon as I unloaded it from my trailer the UTV it started having the same exact problem, it was dying again. I took it back to the dealer the next day and I didn’t hear from them for 3 weeks until I started calling them to ask about my UTV. They took a few more days to get another diagnostic and they said that the fuel tank had debris and was gonna cost me 475.00 to drop the fuel tank, clean it and get it reinstalled and I told them that I was not going to pay twice for the same problem that they had told me was already fixed. Their mechanics are not professional they’re just guessing, so they told me they were not gonna fix it for free even after I had already paid them 440.00 and I told an old man named Ricky, the general manager that I was not gonna pay twice for the same problem, that it was not my fault that his mechanics are giving wrong diagnostics and making me pay extra. So after 6 weeks now I went to pick up my vehicle still not running and when they loaded it on my trailer it had a big dent on the floor from when they jacked it up so I told the manager about it and she told me I need to speak to Ricky and he came out and told me he was not going to fix it, so after all of this my UTV is still not running and now has a dent on the floor that wasn’t there before. So that same day I took it to my auto mechanic who is not a diesel mechanic and it took him 30 minutes to figure out what the problem really was. It was a loose fuel line that was sucking air, it had nothing to do with the fuel filter housing or the tank. Once he fixed the line the UTV is running good. Very bad experience with this dealership, and with the manager that tried to convince me that the vehicle had multiple problems when it’s pretty much new. Thank god I got it out of there and didn’t spend the extra 475.00 that they were trying to charge me for the wrong problem again. Be aware, they are not professional!

Worse customer service experience.Ten days ago, stopped by Alivin Equipment company needed a set of keys for a small size Kubota tractor. Talk to the parts manager, Lloyd. I told him that I did not have the proper identification of the tractor. He suggested to buy a set of keys of a small to mid size tractor and if it did not fit he would refund the purchase price. The keys did not fit. So on October 24, I took my receipt and the bags of keys back to the service counter for a refund. A uninterested employee at the counter whose name was probably Michael, waited on me. After a series of questions he went into a 10 minutes discussion with the parts manager, Lloyd who would not come out of his office. After 10 minutes, the Sales clerk told me that he could refund the item after a 35% restock fee. I tried to talk to Lloyd who refuse to come out and talk to me. Getting angry and frustrated, I spotted a salesman in his office. I told him what the issue was. He said he could not do anything. In 2012, I spent almost 50,000 dollars with this company when I bought a new M9540 tractor. I was in discussion with the above mentioned salesman for the purchase of new M6 series tractor. In addition to that on yearly basis I spent close to 1000.00 in parts and oil at this place. 35%of 6.37 is not the issue. This company has shown it to me that they have poor business practice and horrible customer service. I now have that set of keys and the receipt dangling from my rear view mirror to remind me of all the time how sorry Chad Beaver crew is. Every friend of mine who rides with me in my truck is being told of the magnificent group of people that work at Alvin Equipment Company. I have a lots of friends who bale hay and deal with dirt work. They will all find out about this experience. I am giving it 1 star because it would not let me post without it.

Parts here are a ripoff and service is bad for the price you pay for them. Needed replacement fuel filter assembly for LS J series tractor that I purchased at the dealership. So I called them up and gave them the part number. They said it would cost $149.38 and I had to pay it in cash before they could order it (they would not take my credit card over the phone.) Fine I say. So the next day I spend 30 minutes driving there. They lost my ticket and the computers were down. They wanted me to come back later. I pointed out that this would be a 1 hour round trip drive for me. They made no effort to accommodate me. So I left and did some poking round to find the part on the internet. Found a picture of a Kubota 6A320-58862 fuel filter assembly that looked suspiciously like the LS part. Since it was only $30, I ordered it. Turns out it exactly the same part. So basically, Alvin Equipment wanted 5 times the amount what the part actually ended up costing me. And I should also mention that this $149.38 filter assembly is plastic including the tube inputs for the hoses.This is how I broke the original, by tightening a hose clamp.

I just bought an LS tractor from Alvin Equipment. I went there to look at Kubotas and had never heard of LS. Comparing the LS to the Kubota, the LS seems to be of equal quality, and the design of the front end loader (the main thing I cared about) seems to be vastly superior to Kubota. And this is reflected in the near-double lift capacity rating in the LS. Comparing to Mahindra, well there is not much comparison. I left feeling good about my purchase, confident that I purchased a good quality machine.The salesman (Jamie) was very personable and followed up on all my questions. He did everything he could to make sure that I had all the information I wanted, and only tried to sell me what I was there to buy. He was not pushy, and he didnt try to stand in my way when I left to look at the Mahindra tractors in town. I needed a fork attachment for the front end loader, they didnt have one on the lot, and I didnt have time to wait for one to come in, so he took it up the chain of command and got approval to sell me a fork attachment off of one of their skid steer rentals.Chuck took the time to walk me through the functions of the tractor and answer all my technical questions. The owner (Chad) checked in a couple times while I was there to make sure I was being taken care of.The sale is only part of the equation though; the more important aspect is post-sale support and the service department, of which I havent much experience yet. I will come back and revise my review once Ive had the tractor in for service a few times.

Our experience here was such an insulting slap in the face that weve waited over a year to reflect and see if hindsight would add some clarity to the matter. With that said, we have never seen the fundamentals of customer service so blatantly ignored and neglected. Our equipment was serviced and was presented at pick up with noted issues unaddressed, and vandalism damage that happened on their watch. After returning a second time, noted issues were still unaddressed, major parts were missing, and the bill included repairs for the vandalism. Service management rudely and vehemently defended the bill, so we went to the owner with hat in hand to see if we could resolve the matter. He didnt have the time or interest to look into it and dismissed us as an annoyance. So we reluctantly paid the bill, so we could just leave with our equipment. That bill is the last money AEC will ever receive from our family. We had great relations with AEC for 15+ years but these past 5-6 years, things have gone down hill. We are upgrading our entire fleet of farm equipment this year. As loyal customers we wish we could count on AEC to serve us. However, their blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and service, and their terribly mismanaged service department has extinguished 15+ years of trust and loyalty. We will be doing business elsewhere.

This goes to show you that even after having been a loyal customer for over 30 years, the purchase of two tractors and multiple Echo equipment parts, these people are only interested in lining their pockets and do not care about being fair. My 90 year old father had a leak in the steering wheel on his Kubota and took it here to be repaired. At their discretion they supposedly replaced the leaking seals and charged him $1100 to do so. The tractor was returned to my dad but was still leaking. The tractor was sent back to Alvin Equip. to try once again to fix the leak. All they did at this point was put RTV on it and called it good. This substandard repair happened a total of four times. Who charges someone $1100 to slap RTV on a steering leak?? Alvin Equipment obviously does. Then to make matters worse, my Dad needed his tractor for all of the pre winter work, but had to take it back yet again for the same leak and this time they replaced the entire steering column for an additional $1800. I wish I was there to have stopped my Dad from being ripped off but I was not in the area to do so. So one leak in the steering column ended up costing almost $3000. We made numerous calls requesting that the first payment of $1100 be refunded due to the fact that my Dad was never given any options from the very beginning. They never advised him that it would cost $1100 to replace seals compared to $1800 for an entirely new steering column. They just wanted to charge him for both jobs in order to make more money off of him. This was all very deceitful. They just strung him along week after week to keep charging him more and more money. Had he been advised of the options from the beginning he would have most definitely chose to spend the additional $700. for a complete new steering column. We personally spoke to Megan Lilly (service manager) and Chad Beaver (owner) and they were both very content to have charged my Dad $3000. to fix a steering wheel leak. They couldnt have cared less that the tractor came back multiple times for the same issue and were happy to continue to take advantage of an elderly man who unfortunately trusted in this company and their employees. The initial $1100 work to stop it from leaking should have been warrantied and Alvin Equipment should have honored their warranty, fixed the problem and not charged my Dad another $1800 or at a minimum, credited him for the $1100 repair that didn’t fix the problem and apply it toward replacing the entire column. Either of these options would have been fair. They chose neither and kept the entire $3000 for one steering leak. What a scam!!

Excellent service from AEC. Very knowledgeable parts and service department. AEC will be my Kubota dealer for now on.
