Backyard Shades (Juan and Amber and crew) built a carport for us at our home an hour outside of Amarillo. The quality and sturdiness of the carport far exceeded our expectations, and was much superior to others we had considered. They were always here when they said they would be, they left the work site clean, and they did a fantastic job. We cannot recommend them highly enough, and will use them again for other work that we have planned.Update: We had Backyard Shades come back last month and build us a livestock shed. They did a fabulous job with it, too! And for less money than other businesses we checked with. These folks will do a great job for you and they are a joy to work with.

We found Backyard Shades at the Home and Garden Show in Lubbock. I was ecstatic!! This was exactly what we wanted. We had played around with the thought of a wood pergola - even thought about a kit and eventually got several estimates. I could just never get past the idea with wood that we would have to continually stain it. Yuck!!! And the expense!!! So... Jordan was sweet enough to come to Lubbock one Saturday and give us an estimate on their product. His estimate was in line with those that had been given to us for a wood pergola. After really grilling Jordan about the stability of his pergola, we ordered it. We couldn’t be more pleased. It actually came in a little bit early and he and his family came down to Lubbock on a cold Saturday and put it up. It took them about 6 hours. They were so professional and it looks absolutely gorgeous. We worked the rest of the evening putting out furniture and lights. We absolutely love it. It looks awesome - and as soon as this quarantine ends, we can’t wait to have people over on our brand new porch!!! We love it!!!

Had a scheduled appointment for them to quote a job, planned my day around the appointment and then no one showed up. Can’t comment on quality of work but customer service is terrible.

They were very professional and knowledgeable about my carport design . They were able to explain the the design of my carport and the loads it would be under .then engineered to to far exceed those numbers so much so that 80+ Mph winds didn’t move my carport at all. I will definitely return to them again for my next project

We wanted the flexibility of screening in the back porch and also being able to open things back up so they used sliding screen doors that look and work great. They had some delays because of the manufacturer of the doors but worked hard to get the job done. They seemed reasonably priced and honest.
