Had my tail light smashed and bumper brackets destroyed. They fit me in on a full day, did a bit of work whenever they had the chance, and got it back to me in half the time than they anticipated. The cost was reasonable and the staff members were all friendly and helpful.

I took my car to Don & Sons after a delivery truck backed into my car while it was sitting in the parking lot at work. They were able to schedule my repairs within a week and the repair and paint job was done in 5 days. My car looks as good as it did when it was brand new! The staff was very courteous and professional and they even did an auto detailing job on my car. I highly recommend Don & Sons for any type of auto paint repair work.

My repair of my 2016 Chrysler Town & Country back door & glass replacement looks great. Todd & Carrie were patient & kind as my insurance was slow approving repairs via e-mails back & forth not in person. I took my vehicle to them to get an assessment on the repair of a (very) minor rock chip. Johnny told me that he did not think it was worth having it repaired by them and recommended that I try to redo the touchup myself. He did not try to convince me to have them fix unnecessary things and even gave me a couple of tips on how to fix it myself. Should I need a major repair sometime, I will definitely return. Thanks for the honesty!

Everyone did a great job. I was able to quickly get a quote for insurance needs, dropping the car off at the appointment date was easy and I was given a loaner car without any difficulty, and when it was done I was able to get my car back in minutes. I enjoyed the speed and quality of service I received. Will definitely go back for any body work needed in the future.

I have used Don and Sons 3+ times. I live in DesMoines and choose to drive 40 minutes out of my way to get their services. Why? Because they communicate with me, they do the repairs like I am a family member meaning they want to do it right the first time, they offer a loaner car, and my car comes back detailed. I called and asked if they would have time to help my daughter out with her car. She tried to get her oil changed at another business in Ames. The service techs could not get the hood of her car open. I called Don & Sons. I spoke with Todd & he said to send her over. Within minutes they had the problem solved and sent her on her way. We had some major hail damage on our truck. My father had taken great care of the truck and it looked great until the hail hit. We never figured it would look quite right again- but after Don and Sons did their work, the truck looks absolutely perfect! It came fully clean and washed on the outside and the inside was vacuumed and clean as well. They took care of the insurance claim and we were totally hands off other than dropping it off. 100% would recommend.

I had some minor derecho damage to my Explorer that needed fixing. They did a fantastic job and the detailing was excellent. They did all of the paperwork with my insurance agency and all I had to do was pay the deductible when I showed up! Very happy with the results!

Excellent service from start to finish. After my accident, I called the insurance company, and told them that Don and Sons had been recommended to me. They sent the info to Don and Sons and the rental car place. Don and Sons called me to find out when I could bring the car in to have the estimate done. When the estimator looked it over, he wrote up the estimate and let me know that it would take about a week and that there would likely be more costs once they got the hood and bumper off so they could see the inner damage.When I took the car in for the repair, I was able to pick up the rental at Don and Sons! When it became apparent that the repairs would take a few days longer than originally planned, Don and Sons called to let me know exactly how long it would be. I was able to pick up my car and drop off the rental at Don and Sons.The repair work was completed in a timely manner, the crew was very friendly and efficient, and the car is just beautiful! I think they must have had to paint the whole car to match the color. And the inside looked and smelled brand new! Fantastic job Don and Sons! If anyone asks me for a body shop, you guys will be my recommendation. Thank you all so much!

Our vehical was damaged in the derecho, along with our house, etc. Don & Sons were great to work with. I honestly cant think of anything that could be improved. Their process and professionalism were greatly appreciated; basically they took one thing off my task list and just took care of everything related to the vehical. Great customer service and quality workmanship! Took our Mazda 3 to have the front bumper replaced, after we struck an object on the highway. We were given an estimate that stayed very close to the actual repair costs, and the work took only a few days. Most importantly, to us, Don & Sons matched the paint on the new bumper perfectly to the rest of the car. That Mazda Soul Red is a tricky color, and they took the time in the shop to match it perfectly. We are very satisfied, and glad we chose Don & Sons.

Dropped off my car on a Monday and received my car on that Thursday (was a rub against scuff that needed to be repainted)! Super fast turnaround and I even got daily updates sent to me without even needing to ask! Cant even tell that only parts of my bumper and quaterpanel got repainted! Top quality work, they keep you informed with the progress of your car during service, loaner car was really nice to have while my car was being repaired. There was a couple things that I noticed after the repairs (nothing that was their fault) which they looked into right away and corrected the problem. Nick was very informative and made sure to explain things in a way that was easily understood by someone that isnt familiar with cars. To top everything off, they fully detail the exterior of your car so it comes back nice and clean, even when I just needed them to look at something.If you are looking for a body shop, look no further! I went to the body shop to get a repair done on my bumper. Once they were done, the one side they did the repairs on looked better than the rest of the car! They did such a great job! They give excellent service and all of the staff I worked with is really friendly!

They did more than what was expected and the car looked so new from the inside as well as the outside. I had what I would call a crack in my bumper. I thought i would get a new bumper for my 4 runner. Im glad I was informed that after stop bumper dont fit correctly. Im not sure how they fixed it, but it looks like a new bumper. I cant even tell where the crack was at. They also took the time to get a few scratches out around my tail gate.I am super thrilled with the work and will only come here for my repairs. They get it right the first time. Plus it was done earlier than anticipated.I have since had to have my 4 runners rear bumper fixed again. Don and Sons does excellent work! I never have to worry about the work or paint not being exact. This time when I picked up my 4 runner, I got out and checked the licence plate number to make sure I was getting in the right vehicle. They had completely detailed the inside and it looked and smelled like a new vehicle. AMAZING! I am completely excited that it was fixed and ready to go before a major vacation road trip. Looks amazing, and small rock chips in the front bumper were fixed also. I have recommended this auto body shop to all my friends. I cannot recommend Don &Sons highly enough. They recently fixed my truck on the week before Easter. The work they did was great and professional, but what stunned me was their customer service. I am a college student in the area and of course wanted to go home for Easter. When they decided they wouldnt have my truck done before the weekend they called me and rented me a car from Enterprise for the weekend. I was absolutely thrilled with both the work and the customer service from this company.

Someone ran into my practically brand new Mazda 6 in a parking lot and did quite a bit of damage. I got their insurance info, took the car to Don & Sons, and they took care of the rest. Carrie kept me informed throughout the entire process, and the car came back looking like the day I bought it. The detailing was a very nice touch. I will definitely be returning if I need auto body work done in the future.

Ann Martin sure has a crack crew of expert body dudes that can handle any and all body work on everything from cars to trucks to boats and jet skis. We were especially impressed with her dad the estimator, Todd. He got us the best replacement parts for our dented car and didnt let those pushy insurance claims adjusters try and get away with cheap non-OEM parts. Way to go Don and Sons. Youre the best!

A taxi backed into my parked car at 2:00am one night, breaking the bumper cover and tail light of my Trailblazer.I took it to Don & Sons to get it fixed with the taxi companys insurance information. It was great! Didnt have to worry about the cost at all, it was all taken care of without needing anything from me. Back of my car now looks brand new. The best part was getting my car back completely cleaned! Outside was waxed, inside was vacuumed, shampooed. I fell off the road and needed some major work done on the front bumper of my civic. I tried Don and Sons Body Shop because of all their great reviews and lack of reviews from other body shops in ames. I am glad I did! I took my car into their shop and was given a complete detailed estimate of everything that needed to be done. This was surprising since most shops would probably just give a rough estimate and then figure out later the exact costs. They even gave me a heads up of an additional repair that might need to be done depending on how things looked after taking off the bumper. My insurance adjuster said their estimate was probably well below anything he would have given so I was happy about that. The company handled all the insurance paperwork and even gave me a free loaner car while I waited a week for the repair job to be complete. Throughout the repairs they updated me letting me know where they were in the repairs. I was impressed that the work that totaled more than $5,000 only took about 8 business days to complete. When the repairs were done, my car looked brand new. Couldnt believe it. They even cleaned the insides, including removing the glue I had stuck on my windshield from an old sticker!The only problem was that when I got the car back I later realized that the horn wasnt working anymore. However, I just called them and notified them of the problem and without hassle they had me bring back the car, gave me another loaner car, and then fixed the problem by the end of the day. It was great seeing a company back up their work like that. Very impressed by their business and will be recommending them to anyone that ever needs auto body repair work done! I dont see why youd want to go anywhere else!

My insurance company had given me an estimate for the damages to my car (2013 Ford Focus) in pdf electronic format. I gave Don & Sons a call (1st time choosing them) and after emailing my estimate, I got an appointment, parked my car at their shop, and picked out the loner car of my choice. 2 Days later I have a car that looks as good as the day I bought it. (its probably cleaner now to be completely honest) I highly recommend them, by far the lowest hassle ive ever had working with a body shop.

Had a weird accident happen where a guy was pulling a truck behind his farm equipment and the hitch broke causing the truck to roll back down a hill in to the front of my car. When it came time to pick a place to do the body work I decided to stop by this place just to see what they had to say and man did Nick sell this place. I ended up leaving that day with a loaner car while the insurance stuff got figured out. Carrie (I hope I spelled that right) at the front desk kept me up to date the whole way through the process. When it came time to get my car back man did that thing look brand new and they took the time to even clean the inside of the car out.If this is the only part you read this place is the best in Ames when work is needed to be done. I would recommend this place to anyone I know if the occasion arrises. Terrible service. I was in a car accident awhile back, they told the insurance company not to total out my car and ever since Ive had issues with the electrical, starter, radaitor, you name it, Ive had the problem. Even had the same part go out in the car that they replaced earlier and now Im getting the run around (Im sure they just dont want to eat the cost). Now that Tom and Chad both are not there I wouldnt even send my worst enemy there. Trying to get service now is like pulling teeth!
