New to the area and was looking for a place to get a re-string and set-up. Jeff took really good care of me and my guitar. He was quick to respond to my initial inquiry and during my in-store visit, took the time to understand what and how I play in order to give recommendations on set-up, what kind of strings we should go with, etc. The turnaround was very quick too - only a matter of a couple days. Enjoyed working with Jeff and will be back again for any future needs!

I love this place! Jeff replaced the nut on my Les Paul. He did an excellent job! It turned out better than I thought it would! My guitar feels like a million bucks! Thanks again Jeff for doing such a great job!

Have stopped by there 2 or 3 times when they were supposedly open only to find the store closed and abandoned. Response to owners response... Ive stopped by 3 or 4 times over the course of several months, it really doesnt matter when I stop by, I DIDNT stop by during the holiday season because Ive stopped trying to catch you open months ago, as I stated Ive dropped by 3 or 4 times, and each time, youre advertised open, but when I get there, theres a closed sign, no sign saying when someone will be back. Dont really know how you stay in business when youre NEVER open. Ive long since just started ordering things on Amazon because theres no place around here that sells what Im looking for. Supposedly you are, but after 3 or 4 random times, when youre advertised as open, and its not a holiday season, Ive just given up on trying to do business with you.

I took my daughter in after school today because we wanted to check on lessons and getting a guitar repaired(strings). We saw someone behind a glass window who I recognized as the man in most of their videos online. We decided to look around the store until we could be helped. The man didnt greet us, but came out of the room and promptly asked if we had an an appointment or lesson. We didnt and I explained why we were there. He stated he didnt have time (to help us) and asked me to come back later... A bit shocked, I explained I couldnt as I had other commitments later, so he went back in to his little glass room and continued to what appeared to be stringing a guitar. I offered to leave my guitar there, but he didnt answer. I looked at my 7-year-old daughter who had picked out a guitar strap we were planning to buy and I asked her if she thought he was coming back... she said, I dont think so... After a minute or so of awkwardly standing there, he didnt return to the showroom, so we put the strap back and left. On the way out, I checked the sign in the front window that was lit up brightly displaying open... I guess not for us today. Worst experience in customer service I have ever experienced. My daughter and I are sorry (not sorry)for inconveniencing you and are taking our business elsewhere.

I thought the action on my acoustic guitar was a bit high so I took it in to Jeff at Ron Zehel to see about getting it lowered. He told me that it was at a level that was acceptable, but said hed lower it a little bit if I wanted him too. I asked him to go ahead and do it and it came out great. I got it back quickly and he charged a very reasonable price. Ill be bringing it back any time I need work done.

When I walked into Ron Zehel Guitar Center I felt amazed. I bought an electric guitar and accoustic from there and if I need repairs they would promptly and professionally be taken care of. The owner doesnt sell junk. They have quality guitars and products in the store. I have always been treated with respect and fairness.

We have purchased instruments from RZ Guitar Center as well as have had our children take music lessons there, and it was well worth it. Our kids have done performances in school, and they continue to play and enjoy years later. Friendly staff/teachers who have lots of experience and knowledge to pass on, and have a real passion for music. Highly recommended!

I take my guitars to Jeff when I need a set up. When I get the guitars back they are always on point. Ive never had an issue. If your guitar needs an intonation adjustment, take it to him. Every time he does an intonation adjustment on my guitars, the intonation is perfect all the way up the neck with no fret buzz or cutting out. He gets the action right where it needs to be. You also have some of the best guitar teachers in lorain county here. These guys know what they are doing.

Ron Zehel has been providing my son with guitar lessons for six years. My son has learned to play the guitar thanks to his instructor and now owner Jeff Nickoloff. All of our guitar services and needs have been satisfied and fulfilled thanks to Jeff. Ron Zehel is a wonderful addition to our community. All of your hard work is appreciated. Hats off to Jeff!

And of course the only guitar shop in Lorain county that actually exist (despite what Google says) is closed again when I get there when its supposed to be open. This place was my normal go to spot when I want to buy a guitar or gear but not anymore. Was going there today to look at guitars and most likely buy one and it was closed as usual. Ill just instead drive to North Olmsted which was what I wanted to avoid.

People working there freak out if you want to touch or hold an instrument even if you just spent $40 on some gear. Was interested in a couple of guitars but they wig out when you begin to pick it up and say It hasnt been set up yet, were doing lessons, its vintage...wah. No wonder they have such a limited generic selection. How do you expect people to want to buy from you if you bar them from trying stuff out? Even when I just spent money? Oh yeah, they dont do refunds either. Dont go here. Drive the extra distance and go to a real Guitar Center

Ron Zehels Guitar Center has been part of my life since I was 13, and I was so happy when my good friend Jeff Nickoloff bought the store and revitalized it. There is a great thread of continuity in music education that Jeff and Ron Renick carry on, after all these years. Im honored to know those fine musicians, and I continue to be inspired by them.Keep the faith, brothers!

Just stopped in at Ron Zehels in Amherst today. First time Ive been there since Ive been an adult (we are talking YEARS people). I wanted to support local business, plus I wanted my guitar strings immediately! Hours are SUPPOSED to be 11am - 4pm.It was 11:50am. Big neon sign flashing O P E N. Door is locked. Note on the door says back at noon. Sit in car till about 12:05pm.Guy pulls up next to me yakking on Iphone. 5 more minutes pass. There is another customer waiting at the door, and a kid, looks to be a student that was dropped off in the cold, waiting too. Person yakking on phone finally gets out of car and turns out to be the back at noon person. (Online research after the fact lets me know that this person is Jeff Nickoloff)He lets everyone in - still talking on phone. I start looking for what I wanted on the walls, and apparently I went behind the counter...(I really couldnt tell it was a counter)...so the guy says excuse me! you cant go back there and I apologized. Guy still yakking on phone (about flooring and insulation R ratings). I put my hands in my pockets and wait a few more seconds...and then I kinda got pissed and walked out. What kind of customer service is that? Seriously - I can get EVERYTHING cheaper on the internet, why would I come to your store? Its closed when its advertised as open, and then I get treated like Im going to steal stuff, and this guy ignores me. I read the other google reviews and see that Im not the only person who went to the store only to find it closed. Jeff may be a great guitar teacher/player, but he sucks at customer service. Not sure if he also is the owner or not.Now Im on Guitar Centers website ordering strings & a cheap capo. Sad.
