Visiting the area for the weekend and found this charming place on a whim. The owner/cook is wonderful and friendly and so funny. Very talkative but we don’t mind as it made it even better. There is no menu, food list is on paper all over the restaurant which makes it different but in a good way. All food is made to order (except the desserts of course) and portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable. Will be going back again when we are in the area and it’s nice to go to a place and not feel like another customer but apart of the community.BTW: we are from FL and have yet to find a place here in NY that does biscuits and gravy the correct southern way, until now. The Biscuits and Gravy was on point, just like my parents use to make and the sausage is made there which is even better!!! 👍
Went to meet a friend for breakfast and decided to check this place out. I was in love from the minute I walked in. Anita seated us, took our orders and was cooking too. I went with the sausage gravy and biscuit with eggs and my date got the Sicilian omelette at Anitas suggestion. The food was fantastic and you could tell Anita loves cooking for people and what she does. She sang us a song to go along with the Sicilian omelette but told us wed have to come back for the second verse. This place is a gem and worth the drive. We had an amazing experience at The Route 30 Diner! First of all the owners are so personable and go out of their way to make you feel as though you are in their home and they are cooking just for you! I had the Sicilian Omlete which had ricotta cheese, spinach, tomato, mozzarella. I had the home made sausage and home fries. My boyfriend had eggs over easy, home fries, sausage. It was a great experience and we shall return again when in the area. I highly recommend!!!!! #Route30Diner
Charming diner with good food and reasonable prices. Service was slow which was surprising since there.were only three parties there. Definitely worth a stop but call ahead during peak times as there is not a lot of seating.
Absolutely a must go to! Food is amazing, the personal service and heart this place offers is surpassed by none. Stopped here while traveling for work and felt like I was at home with friends and will dream of the delicious food for days!
My wife and I stopped while out on a Saturday morning motorcycle ride. We loved this place! The owner / chef was great. Very friendly, witty. Made us feel right at home. Breakfast was really good! We will be back for breakfast the next time we are near.
The food was excellent. The owner is one in a million. Where can you go and talk for an hour with the owner after your meal. We had a great time and will be stopping back.
What a great place to get breakfast. We visit once every 3 months when we’re in Amsterdam. The staff is always friendly, know our faces, and what we want to drink before were even seated. Food is always delicious. Our family always feel like they are at home. They always check up on you asking if your meal was good and to expectation, a few times they have made good on things that wasn’t as expected. Food is always delicious. Daily specials keep the mix interesting. The owner and her staff make this place an awesome small town experience.

What a surprise! Found this place mostly by accident. Just a delightful place. The food is fine, in fact it was all pretty good. But Anita and Joe were just fabulous. Im not sure I ever felt better giving a merchant my money.
Food was ok despite all the reviews. Service was slow. Waitress even forgot to put my order in. Had the sausage gravy an biscuit. Well the gravy tasted like chicken gravy from the can. Like 3 pieces of sausage. The biscuit was just a little sliver of a buscuit. Maybe 1.5 x 1.5 an dry. Homefries were cold even though theyre sitting on the grill staying warm...🤷🏻♂️

Doesnt look like much, but great food and accommodating to allergies and special requests! Excellent value for the price. A bit off the highway, but not far at all. Especially nice since to get a non chain location. We got our meals to go since we wanted to continue on our drive so cant comment on wait service, but they were very pleasant for our take out experience, even coming out to the car to ask what type of bread I wanted my turkey club to come on. Id stop at this quirky little place again for sure!

If you’re staying at the Super 8 in Amsterdam where the complementary breakfast sucks, drive a few minutes down the road to this charming place where you’ll get good coffee, giant toast, perfect eggs, impressive pancakes, and home made sausage patties that were so good I want to learn how they are made. My daughter proclaimed that the French Toast with Fluff and PB was the “best breakfast she has ever had”. We all left full and satisfied, ready to continue our trek down the I-90.
Maybe an off time Sunday afternoon? No menus??- food not hot- rye toast was stale!No crackers for soup.Lots of flies inside. Should have listened to the people in the parking lot who said wont eat here again before entering. Mea culpa.

Love this little place. Coming inside it sort of felt like leaving the whole hustle and bustle of daily life behind. The owner was in a great mood and you could tell she was happy to be there and loves what she does . That makes all the difference. Food was just like home cooked.Only thing that would have made it better was fresh oj!.

A cute little dinner, in Amsterdam N. Y., run by two sweet women who will make your order to your specifications. Breakfast is available all day. The place is small but very popular and very busy when we were there. I had something called egg-in-nest which was one egg placed in the middle of a piece of toast, with fried potatoes and bacon. It was very good. If you liked your meal there is a bell by the door that you can ring to show your appreciation. I rang it!

Went there with my sister and niece. I had the Dickie Doo (eggs over mashed potatoes with garlic, onion, and mushrooms), sister had sausage gravy and home fries, niece 2 pancakes. Food was AMAZING. Great price for a lot of food ( none of us could finish our plates). Staff were awesome. Especially understanding of niece (child with autism, she got a little loud). No one, staff or customers, got upset or said something. Definitely recommend this place. Its a little out of the way, but well worth the travel!
What a find! A classic home-cooking diner just 1 mile off highway I-90. Had a delicious breakfast with homemade sausages. Italian bread French toast with strawberries and whipped cream was delicious. Very friendly staff makes you feel like family. Impressed with fresh ingredients including local vegetables.
I go here every week for breakfast with my parents. Tammy does everything she can to give us anything we want. I have gotten food for lunch and dinner and have had great food. Burgers are big. Home made mac-n-cheese is great. Homemade sausage is great.

Wow! Best bacon tomato grilled cheese and homemade chicken soup ever! The menu is mostly breakfast and burgers, but dont let that stop you. Its all good, including the homemade carrot cake that easily serves 2.Best 4 minute detour off of I-90 youll ever take!

The location is 1.5 miles south from the Thurway bridge going south. Careful, it comes up real quick. Friendly, handicap accessible. Enjoyed the big portion of meals. We were able to split the meal between us.
This place is everything you want out of a town diner. The owner is always there working tables, happy to talk about her work. You can tell shes there for the love of cooking food for people. The food itself is delicious, Ive never gotten the same thing twice and nothing has ever beenjust okay. Highly recommend trying it out.

A small restaurant outside of the city of Amsterdam with friendly staff. The food is very good with the help of fresh eggs that are produced on property and the homemade sausage is some of the best around. I took away a star because their coffee is pretty bad.

We stopped here kind of by accident. It was a small place on the side of the road not really near anything. We took a chance since there was no one in the parking lot when we arrived. It turned out to be a very friendly place with good lunch and very friendly down to earth staff. The service was very quick and the food was good. The price is also very good. My friends and I stopped here unexpectedly this winter after an impromptu trip to Niagra Falls. I am so glad we did stop here because the environment was very cozy and welcoming. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Not sure why anyone is in a hurry to eat great food. Its a small Diner, with one short order cook. If its busy, you wait a bit. If it isnt busy, your order is fast. Pretty simple.
