Wow! What a great place to find! The only way I can describe it is unexpected. Ive been in a lot of antique and thrift stores, but Western Montana Fur adds a whole new level of experience. There are amazing added items that just arent found in most stores. I could easily have spent half a day browsing.

I LOVE this place!! Ive been going to this shop since I was 15 im 26 now, and every time I always find new treasures and always a smiling face! Now I bring my daughter when I make the trip and all the employees have been so so nice to her shes always so excited to see them! Whether I buy fur, bones, or antiques I always find the items in absolute amazing condition and always for a great price! I look forward to many more years worth of visits!!

It was interesting to look through everything packed into this store, but a bit claustrophobic. Lots of neat furniture, especially. Im not really a fur person, so cant speak to that.

If you travel to Anaconda for this treasure, it is certainly worth it. We went there to look at the furs that were offered. There are tons of beautiful pelts and also wonderfully made clothing items made of beautiful fur. This place is also like a flea market. Many antiques and unusual items were for sale scattered around the store. It is pretty crowded with items. We really enjoyed looking through the furs. One customer bought some of the most beautiful red fox furs we had ever seen. I got a really nice coyote pelt to make a nice fur hat for my husband. They actually have 2 locations, full of items for sale. Its fun to explore and see what treasures lie within. The furs are outstanding!!! The lighting could be better and it was a challenge to have room to examine the furs. The furs were beautiful!

Do not go to Anaconda without stopping in this store....or his second store just a few blocks away. Treasures upon Treasures.

It is extremely overpriced for sure because I trap so I know what furs are worth so you cant buy much at all, but the store is actually super cool.

I got to have the privilege of working here as store manager from May to December 2015. George Kortum was a very good owner and manager and taught me almost everything I needed to know about running the shop and had plenty of books on antiques that I took the time to read in between customers. I had also rented a way cute apartment from him while I was working here. He had also helped me gather what I needed to start my life over after I had left an ex boyfriend I was on the run from in Butte. I really enjoyed working here and enjoyed the things I bought here. After I had gone back to Butte, I had brought my mom in here with me one day a couple of years later to show her this place and she liked it too.

A wonderland of furs and oddities a magical doorway into another time. Friendly staff, knowledgeable about anything you could wonder about in store. I had a custom hat made that was both affordable and beautiful

Loved it here. It was very cool seeing the antiques and furs. Bought good stuff for souvenirs.

This place was the BEST! So many furs to choose from at great prices! We stumbled across it on our way north through Montana and it was better than anything we could have ever imagined. Staff were fantastic. If you can go here - do it, you will not regret it

I love fur so Im not going to give them only one star, but these people need to get their heads out of wherever theyre stuck! Walked in to A VERY loud buzzer that lets them know when a customer walks in. To bad they could care less if they get a customer. There was at least 4or 5 employees standing around the counter, talking/arguing amongst each other. Probably 8 people walked in after me, the buzzer going off each time. At no time did any of the employees acknowledge any of the customers or even make eye contact. I walked by and said hello, no response whatsoever. Not sure, maybe they were all deaf? Seems to me a little friendliness goes a long way. At one point I walked over to the counter as I wanted to ask how much a throw was, but once again, I was ignored and they were so intent on their own conversation that I couldnt get a word in edgewise. (I assure you they were not talking about anything that riveting or even business related.) Dont think Ill be returning anytime soon.

Unique shopping experience. Bought a pair of deerskin unlined gloves for $21! Bought an elk and bison skull here two years ago for home decor project too. Great browsing. Bear traps priced too high.

I go there every once in a while and you can always can find high quality furs there if its blankets to just a pelt they have it all with many options to pick from as well as many animals, i would recommend anyone who would like furs to go there or just to look or maybe to sell your furs
