Stopped in on a whim, there isnt much of a shop, but there is a couple shelves of stuff that came out that week. Friendly staff! I know nothing about comics but she explained how the store works. I picked up a complication full series that came out that week! Took it over to bottle logic and it was a great day! Recommend highly! Though its really for the comic connoisseur.
If you go here make sure you know exactly what you want before you go in because you cant go past the reception area. You can browse this weeks new comics but nothing else in the store. The staff was nice its just not worth the trip if your looking for anything other than this weeks comics.
Always on point. Phone orders on point too. She even called me back 20 min before close to remind me. No DC comics tho which is ok I guess lol.
Great little shop with all the current titles.
I love this place, the environment here is very welcoming, and what i specifically love about this place is the presentation it gives, instead of being a huge building filled up with extra space thats problably not going to be used, its a really small and cozy feeling building spot with just enough room for comic books and a TON of collectables and statues to look at, the staff is really polite when you walk in and are always ready to help you out when you need something, i remember one time me and my friends were chilling outside of the shop and one of the employees got off his shift and instead of just leaving he decided to sit next to us and we ended up talking for hours and hours of multiple stuff such as comics school and music. For this place i feel it was a great placement to be right into city hall, while everything is being filled up with food shops and restaurants it was a perfect addition to add a comic book shop that stands out from the rest and blends in with all the shops around it, i love this place not only because its my closest comic book shop but because compared to some of the comic book shops (which are all fantastic by the way) this one is really special to me by how it presents itself and how it likes to interact with the people coming inside, wether your super into comics or not, everyone has a good time in here and is welcomed, love this place, im happy to support it as much i can.
Great selection of newer comics and collectibles. The staff is really nice too. Also have big dollar bin for some past comics.
Was always a great place, every location they’ve had was wonderful. Hopefully they come back strong in the future
Nice and neat little collectible shop. Literally - very small.
Doors lock. Online it says indoor shopping but the man inside would not open the door nor acknowledge me. Would give zero stars based on that alone if I could.
Great place for newer comics, the staff is knowledgeable, and their prices are great.
This place has very poor customer service. I placed an order for four books, upon arrival tells me that they only have three of the four that I have already purchased. This women tells me shell call me back about a refund and never did. I had to call them back to see what was going on two weeks later, then tells me she found the book and I already ordered one from Amazon. And I live in Riverside so I wasnt going to drive out there for one book. I asked if she could just ship it to me and was going to charge me an additional shipping fee even after they had messed up my order and I still havent heard back from them to see if they were going to compensate me free shipping for the inconvenience or if they were going to refund my money for that issue. Its been over a month now. So I personally had a very bad customer service experience with this shop. So I wont be buying from them since they dont take responsibility for their mistakes or the mistakes of their employees.
Great space, good mix of new comics and old favorites, very friendly and helpful staff, great location. I highly recommend picking up a trade paperback and taking it over to Requiem across the way to read. Awesome way to spend an afternoon.
Its not there any more 😥
The location is closed for 3 months, yet it shows open, I drove there for nothing
Very cool comic store. Staff was super friendly. I felt like a kid in the store. They had a variety of comics. I bought some Batman comics since Im a DC fan. Store is a bit small though. I still think its worth a visit. There is street parking and a parking garage around the corner.
I love this place. I don’t live in the area anymore, but whenever I’m in OC I make sure to stop in and get something. Beautiful layout, nice people.
This is a much better spot than the stores previous incarnation on Beach and Ball. Here, The Promenade, unlike at Beach and Ball is a clean, safe area. Park your car with confidence! The entire staff is friendly and approachable. They have a nice selection of comics and graphic novels. They also get in some awesome action figures now and again - worth checking in several times a month to check them out. The more rare figures go quickly. There is an art gallery-like area inside the store. This fits with the minimalist feel of the store and with the high-end feel of The Promenade. My only gripe is that this is a retail store who sells at resell prices. They have a nice selection of Funko Pops - all with prices governed by online resell prices. Same with the action figures I mentioned. If I buy something from a retail shop, i expect to pay retail for it. If I want to pay reseller/collector prices, well, there are different outlets for that.
This is like a hole in the wall comic store/collectors gear. My son spotted it while we were headed to the ice rink. We decided to look around before heading home and its really awesome. They have affordable comic books, collectible comic/super heroes items, and small jewelry. The men who work are extremely nice, right away asked if I needed help, and held conversations with my 12yr old son. We are totally returning to this store.
Excellent, well educated staff on comics and other merchandise sold there. The entire staff is excellent when it comes to pulling books for pull list customers. They usually are adequate in regards to ordering from diamond. Clean store, that new book smell (so to speak), decent music contributes a positive culture to the ambience. Books are really close to mint if not mint. Great store!
Let me start by saying that my wife and I live in San Francisco and we have comic stores here but yet Pop Comics is where I have my saver box. Best staff and products and every time I go there there are new wonders to behold. My wife enjoys coming here and she doesnt do comic book stores.
This place seemed nice until the workers there started making fun of a certain group of people. Disgusting. I thought the comic community was about being inclusive? I guess not at Pop. Avoid if you have an open mind.
Great shop...All the reviews rate 4 or 5 stars except for a single 1 (if you check his reviews he rates almost all of his 111 reviews at 1 star so I would tend to doubt this rating). The shop is in great area, people working there are friendly and the store is clean and fun.
Pop Comics is serving their audience really well. Theyve got a perfect mix of trades, collectibles, and weeklies. Easy place to get your weekly comic book fix but also a nice and neat space to lure in the newbies. You wont feel intimidating by stacks of unsorted comic arcana.
Super friendly staff that put up with my daughter asking them all kinds of questions and generally chatting at them. They also have a rack of kid appropriate comics my daughter loves to look at and buy stuff from. Its a small store, but they have a decent selection of new releases and will hold stuff for you. They have several bookshelves of graphic novels as well. They have recommended several good ones for my daughter and I.They also have a variety Disney and comic collectables for sale.
The once beach ball comics now moved here and downsized quite a bit. Still they offer all the latest and greatest as well as a nice pull system with email notifications. Seems to be less staffed than it once was but they are always friendly and helpful. The distance from the original location is a bit much though and not as convenient to drive to for me personally. If you are nearby though you cant go wrong with Pop Comics!
I love Pop Comics. Friendly and helpful staff with no minimum on my pull list! They will even order comics for you they do not normally stock. Join their mailing list and they will give you backings and bags for you comics! I cant say enough good things about them really.
Store is closed down or they moved.
Really pleasant little store with good selection. Found three Squirrel Girl variant cover back issues just sitting on the shelf. Cashier was nice & helpful. Will definitely be visiting again
Excellent staff with a comprehensive database knowledge, typically well ordered, great personalized pull subscriptions, minimal mark ups for hot issues, and something most shops in the oc dont use to check for stock or any useful info on back issues etc.... Etc.... A COMPUTER! Thats right folks, a comic book shop that has broken away from the dark ages and joined the 21st century! Well played pop.... Well played.
Lots of cool stuff if youre into that sort of stuff.
First time in this shop. The gentleman behind the counter was both knowledgeable and friendly. Im definitely planning on returning soon.
Not only do they have the comics your looking for, they also have more then enough knowledge of comics and their characters. Its clear they enjoy working there. 👍
Great comic shop.I love this place. They have an impressive inventory of new comics and a wide variety of trades. They also have some cool collectibles and toys.
Need to update their hours of operation on Google Maps. The were listed as open on Sunday but were closed when I got there around 2:30pmMaybe closed on Sundays now?.
I have had a pull of comics set up at this place for over a year and am very happy with the service. The employees are very knowledgeable and familiar with all the comics they sell. They are very helpful and nice as well.
Small but quaint comic book shop that specializes in more recent comic books and trades. Of course they also sell collectibles and even wearable merchandise. They have a kid section right up front at kid height. Friendly staff, clean and organized store, great place for comics.
Great little comic shop. Wonderful variety and a friendly staff!
Local comic shop great place to stop by and check out comics and they also carry funko pop.
Lovely store. Great customer service
Neat stuff on display! They have comic books, but I love the oddities and knickknacks for sale. My son goes here for the comics, I go for curiosity.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Worth a look just to see the art they host here on a regular basis. Solid selection of comic books as well.
Great comic book store in downtown historic Anaheim. Good selection of comics along with some great collectables. Love when they do art shows!
Love their sales!
This place is awesome they had everything I wanted and more! The people there are great and friendly and its a great experience all around
Its an ok shop they only problems I have with it is pricing for variants instead of selling them for cover price in release day they bump those prices up which is not cool and eliminates users from getting them on release day went in for one if the xfirce variants 25 bucks on release day yesterday.all other stores had they exact same copy for cover price 5.99. If your just looking for an extra copy of a comic its a great place but as for release days stick to your local comic shop!
Good selection of weekly comics and recent back issues. Older back issues are not shelved. They also have collectables and trade editions of graphic novels. Parking can sometimes be problematic, but there is a parking structure nearby.
Staff is always willing to help. Ive been visiting here since they opened and would only change if I HAD to for some reason. Local Comic shops are vanishing so cherish yours like I do this one.
Nice location lots of comic books and other things related
Nice place friendly staff. The guy at the desk was very nice and answered all are questions my son who is 7 loves this place its his new favorite comic book shop.
One of our favorite comic book stores. The friendliest staff and awesome atmosphere!
Used to be Beach Ball Comics, now in a more trendy area. Friendly staff and great selection of comics.
If youre looking for new comics, this is the place to go. Old issues, not so much. But lots of stuff for a small spot!
Great knowledgeable staff that goes above and beyond. Does pulls for your fav comics and awesome guest artists.
Nice clean shop, not too cluttered.
Well-appointed store with helpful staff that will guide you the books and collectibles that will pique your interest.
Cool place! Friendly dude behind the counter and a nice selection of merchandise.
Cool comic shop that offers a good selection of trade as well.
Always has the comic we need. Well stocked. Very clean & validates parking!
Great comic store, great location. Evan is the man, always friendly and knowledgeable
Weve been going to this comic book store since the old days out at Beach and Ball. The staff are wonderful. If youll be coming a lot, set up a pull list with all the comics you want and theyll set them aside for you each week.
Good store for the recent stuff. Not much of a classic comics section though.
Clean place and has a good selection.
Great selection, Kevin and Jody part was really cool.
Best place to get a pull on anything Marvel and DC
I love comics and their place has em along with more cool stuff.
Workers are always super friendly here. plenty of comics to choose from.
Great, nice clean shop! Friendly staff. Hosts pop culture art exhibits too!
Good collections.. but over priced.
Great comic book store with a vast selection, cool products, and amazing artwork.
Prices are about 15-20% too high, especially for such a small store, but the staff is nice and friendly
I can always find the comic Im looking for here. Every time!
Going here for many years, loads of books to choose from. Helpful & courteous owner. Extremely low prices.
Typical run of the mill comic book store. Collectable, comics, graphic novels, mystery packs for $10. The lady working the desk might of been having a bad day when I went. Wasnt friendly or hospitable, no upbeat attitude at all.
Really cool comic shop with a small gallery space for art shows.
Friendly staff with a good selection of current comics.
This new location is downsized from a larger store, so they dont have as many back issues, but they do have a lot of collectibles along with a varied selection of newer books.
I love comics and they always have neat collectables.
Nice looking little comic shop, with a decent selection. Staff come across as comic elitist which might unerve casual fans.
Great selection despite small shop size.
Friendly environment. They are very helpful with all of your questions and have a great amount of selections for your comic pleasures
Great little comic shop, with some unique events!
Pretty neat place I liked it
Its cozy and the staff is nice and helpful highly recommend
A pretty cool store. =]
Nice place found what i was looking for!!!
Did not feel welcomed at all walked in with my husband and baby all of us wearing batman and just felt like if they were criticizing really bad atmosphere
Great Place Friendly Helpful Staff! Thanks
Cool stuff. Expensive. =^..^=
Best comic shop, best people hands down
Manager needs to be more enlightening when spoken to.
Has a lot of recent comics on the left of the store and a lot of collectible figurines and statues on the right.
Great place.
Friendly staff, nice variety
Friendly staff and offered to keep a look out for issues in my list.
This place is super Cool!
More like western comics, instead of manga
