This is a great spot in Anaheim with other great restaurants near by. For 2 ice creams it was 18$ about, a little pricey but they are very delicious! Each tasty dessert is made with care and tastes great. If you’re in the mood for some good dessert and ice cream, this is a spot to check out. Many options to choose from and can create your own. Staff is kind and overall a great first experience.
While these are very instagram friendly deserts, the actual execution left something to be desired. The “chimney cake” cone doesn’t do a great job preventing drips like a normal cone so it is insanely messy to eat. The cone also doesn’t have much flavor… but neither does the ice cream we tried. Service was also a bit messy with about 3 seconds given to figure out what you wanted. It was fine and interesting to try - but I wouldn’t come back.
The ice cream is really good.Love that you have so much add ons.4 stars because after trying it, I didn’t like the concept of pastry cone. It looks super cool but I understand now why usually it’s inside a strong and thin waffle. You can’t really enjoy the soft-warm pastry when it’s cold with an ice cream in it…
As Hungarians we thoroughly enjoyed House of Chimney cakes because it brought back memories of our summers in Hungary. Unfortunately, the menu has grown to include a lot of non -Hungarian items to please those that want something different and not the origin chimney cake. Our last visit was so disappointing because the girls behind the counter wanted us to wait 40 minutes for an original, simple chimney cake after they announced they were 25 minutes behind with the ice-cream filled and decorated cones! I don’t understand how the original chimney cake takes longer to make than the ice cream filled ones with extra decorations!! It was obvious the young girl did not know what she was talking about. 😔
Delicious!!! What an amazing place. The cones alone are out of this world and you know what I really like about them? Theyre thick so they soak up the ice cream as it melts and doesnt really get all over your hands. And the ice cream creations there are out of this world. They have perfected the ice cream cone here and everyone should go and try it at least once. 10/10 would go again.
I’ve been wanting to try this for years and finally got the chance it did not disappoint. I ordered the strawberry bomb. The ice cream was very rich and flavorful. The cone is what you come here for, it is made fresh when you order. The cone is like a sugary pastry but the sugar is only on the outside. It was something different to try and i really enjoyed it. For being a Friday Afernoon there was no line
This is an adaptation of a Hungarian pastry called kurtoskalacs. While I dont mind the marshmallows, sprinkles and excessive use of toppings, the pastry itself is just too thick compared to the authentic version. The whole thing is just too...heavy. Youll feel bloated before your post uploads to Instagram. It also doesnt help that theres a 30 minute wait to get your order.
Ok so despite being around 97 degrees and very humid on 6he day I went to this place and not getting my ice cream the way it looked on the menu with a delicious cinnamon pastry cone it was still very good. The pineapple 🍍 flavored ice 🍦 mixed with 🍓 ice cream flavor it really hit the spot. you can really create your ice cream how ever you want it. from flavors to cones etc. i will be coming back to try other flavors for sure. we had to make line but didnt wait very long. My ice cream started to melt in seconds thats why it looks sad and falling apart.
This is only my second time trying a chimney cake. This first place I went to in Temecula they were very light, warm, fluffy and flavorful. The chimney cakes here were decorated very beautifully and had good toppings, but the cones themselves were hard and stale and not very flavorful. All I tasted was the cinnamon and sugar coating. The girls working there were very nice and polite and helpful and they are truly desert artisans. Each cone is handmade and looks beautiful. If they cones tasted as good as they looked, Id never leave the place!
I love this place! Ice cream come out really nice 😊 my friend love here different will come back soon
Great options but ran out of my preferred order. That too after a really long wait. The place was super busy and seemed to be a local favorite.
Went here on a Saturday afternoon and was lucky enough to see it was slow. Ordered the birthday cake cone. The workers were nice and took time to make each order just right. It was fast and really good. If you park in a parking structure they can validate for you also Ill be returning with friends and family.
If you are ever in the area please go here and get a chimney cake. The owners are Bulgarian and they have a special recipe from Bulgarian that they use to make these chimney cones. No they are not churros. They are similar to a hot cinnamon sugar pastry. The warmth of the pastry with the cold temperature of the icecream is just amazing. There are also a different icecream flavor profile for each taste bud out there! Cookies and cream, hazelnut, vanilla, chocolate, etc. Plus they have really yummy toppings and Instagram worthy signature cones you can order! Please try House if Chimney Cakes and share your experience with me!
A unique soft serve treat, but not one to repeat. The staff was comically slow - we were the only people in line and waited 15+ minutes for a single item. It was like watching an ultra slow motion replay on a controversial call in the Super Bowl. The lady who made our order looked like she was wading through quicksand. This was problematic not only for the wait, but more so because the cakes are baked fresh upon order. Sounds great, right? Well, whats happening to that soft serve sitting in a hot cone while the staff pretends theyre stuck in a time warp? You guessed it - melting. So instead of a crispy cake cone full of cold ice cream, you get soggy cold cone dripping with lukewarm milk. If executed properly, this could be really really good (better quality ice cream instead of McDonalds soft serve, and staff working at a reasonable pace). We went twice, thinking the lady who served us the first time was a fluke; unfortunately we found that the management only hires people who work like they are walking up a mountain into the Santa Ana winds.Brain surgeons move faster when doing lobotomies than the House of Chimney Cakes staff moves while your soft serve is melting.
Beautiful creations, and a rare treat. Checkout the menu to get a feel for this unique ice-cream cone like confection. Price is a little steep, but understandable and reasonable given the labor time and effort going into the chimney cakes. Be prepared: they are messy.
Magnificent place, the pastry is incredibly delicious! The pastry with the soft serve is insanely delicious! The staff was among the friendliest Ive experienced anywhere. The ones doing the decorating are laser focused until theyve completed their masterpiece and then, all smiles and laughter. Theyre actually excited to serve it to you! Passionate people here, one of my moat favorite attributes of a food place. They wished my daughter a happy birthday after hearing it was her last treat at this age. They all sang Happy Birthday to her when they served us our Birthday themed dessert. Surprised and my daughter loved it! They even lit the candle!!Okay so, I ordered 3 different versions1 cookie(something, cannot remember): pieces of cookie, and cookie dough placed on the soft serve inside of the delicious bread. Covered in chocolate sauce. This was a real winner between all the delicious flavors as well as the textures. Absolutely must tryOreo overload: chocolate soft serve covered in oreo crumbles, the bread is also covered in crumbles. Then its topped with a giant oreo looking cookie and chocolate sauce. The oreo cookie tasted a little funny but everything else was amazingly delicious. The birthday cake one tonight had a red velvet cupcake on top rather than the advertised vanilla cupcake but that wasnt a bad thing in my personal opinion haha, I could see how someone could be let down by that though, so fair warning. We were able to customize it a bit changing the vanilla pit for chocolate which was awesome! Everything else youd expect, sprinkles, sauce etc. It was absolutely delicious. To sum it up, these Hungarian pastry breads are the best knees, very very delicious if you love pastries. It isnt quite a croissant, its much more dense. Its slightly crisp on the outside but deliciously chewy on the inside. Top them with ice cream and youve got a home run delicious dessert! Lastly, they have a large water serving station, nice needed touch.I personally recommend sharing these things but you do you. This place is an ultra rare 10 out of 10.Idea: 10Service 10Ingredients 10Flavor combos 10Portion: 10Ice cream, seriously... 10Instragramability (presentation) 11 (yep) rock n roll levelOverall experience 10This is a must experience dessert venue. SEE YA THERE!
Saw this place on tiktok so my partner and I wanted to check it out. I mentioned wanting to support a small business instead of Disney, and both of us had ordered an oreo funnel cakes. I got served a Mickey one after a short wait and was told by my partner to accept it. Way too sweet for me, but was still cute and good. I was making a video of it so I plan on checking to be absolutely sure of the order. If I had gotten an Oreo funnel cake, the store would have earned 5 stars. We do plan on going back.
I ordered their Dole Whip ice cream with strawberry guava sauce. This time the dole whip also had mango. It was a very tasty combination. The cashier was very friendly and helpful and provided great recommendations on what goes good together. The ice cream comes out of a soft serve machine but it’s not soft serve. I wouldn’t really call it ice cream either, almost more of a frozen yogurt maybe.
Not sure where to begin because everything was great about this place. First off, I cant remember her name, but the lady at the register was so awesome and nice. Yes, as some have said, you do wait a little bit for your chimney cake, but good lord its worth it. You have to understand, they make it fresh right in house for every single order. This isnt just an ice cream cone they pour out of a machine at McDonalds. You have to be patient for good food! So delicious and worth every penny. I wanted another one but I was full to the brim.
Worth it!Yeah, its about $8 a treat and the fresh and hot cone will melt down your ice cream a bit, but it tastes so dang good that youd WANT to inhale it anyway! Im usually one for real dairy ice cream, but my lactose intolerance has been getting the best of me lately. Ordered their vegan pineapple ice cream and I was pleasantly surprised. Now Im not a huge fan of the Disney Dole Whip... Its a bit too sweet. But THIS, I like. The light, soft served pineapple ice cream was topped with fruit and strawberry syrup inside a coconut croissant cone. Delicious! Id be back.
A super cute place with the most delicious dessert creations I’ve tried in SoCal. First of all they not only look amazing and 100% Instagram worthy but they are delicious too. I loved the chimney cake and the flavor of my strawberry-vanilla ice cream. It is not too sweet and the strawberry does taste like real strawberry. Extra point for that! The attention to detail on their creations is beyond, the photos speak for themselves. We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with the owners too, they are very friendly and have poured lots of love and work into their business. We will definitely be back to try more items from the menu!
Yum! This place is amazing.Years ago I went to a Miami festival and got introduced to my first chimney cake, and ever since then I have been trying to find one here in LA. And I found one closer to me but it wasnt the same. And then this place came up for my suggestion. I then needed to head here to try it out, definitely on point. The chimney cakes are made fresh to order for either with the ice cream or without. I also love this place because they dont treat it as a drumstick cone (sauce in the cone) unlike the other place I visited.Their service was great. It was not to busy on Sunday night, maybe if it was summer. There is a variety of ways to choose from but I got a build your own and made it simple. And there are about 10ish of flavors to choose from without ice cream. The place and tables were clean. Now I just wish you closer to me. I guess the only way to visit is when I go to Disney or Im in a neighboring city.
Delicious cake! Ice cream was just okay, and the dessert itself was just too messy for me. My coworker also complained of the messiness. Even though it’s contained within a cup, the ice cream still leaks out of it. And the cake gets soggy. But it looks beautiful. Next time I would skip the ice cream.
The line was long and the service was lacking, but the ice cream was great (and pretty)
Having chimney cakes has become a family favorite when were in Anaheim. They have exciting flavors. The special cone of the chimney cake is crisp & crunchy, sweet (not too much), & is enough to hold the soft ice cream. Watch out -- theres a hole on the bottom. You need to devour this as soon as its served bcuz it starts to melt right away!#oreooverload #strawberrybomb # fashionista
A great treat to end our night. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
The cones are scrumptiously soft. The cinnamon cones with vanilla ice cream and apple pie are wonderfully warm and delightfully cool. Beautiful, fun arrangements for the whole family!
Super yummy!! Will definitely go back
Good experience here, its great for those instagram shots that you want to show people. However theres a downside and the ice cream does melt really fast in the day time if you dont hurry and eat it then it will turn into a huge mess really quick since it drips out of their container as well. Though its no fault of theirs, its just the way their ice cream is. I would definitely come back again.
Best cake shop. I go here almost every week to grab a treat for my home!!
A little expensive for soft serve and you need to eat it quickly or else you will have a melty mess. the cake itself is sweet and flakey but beware the chocolate malt ball at the bottom!! Wasn’t expecting it and bit down too hard. I got the cookielicious and my boyfriend got so hungry delicious. I wish it can with a bowl or something to put it in.
Staff is friendly and ice cream is delicious. I always love to take people from out of town here.
If you are looking to go here purely for the Gram, then this is your place. The ice cream is wayyy over priced for just being soft serve. The cone was good, however, and the ice cream is nice too look at.
Love their blueberry lemon chimney cake with ice cream and blueberry sauce and lemon cookie crumble
Very very very delicious. The ice cream was very creamy and the flavor was all so good. The only problem was that it was a bit messy. Dont let that steer you away though. Ill definitely be back.
Great place for something sweet!
Amazing ice cream creations
Very very delicious my second time here strawberry cheesecake is the bom, I come from Ontario CA just to eat them...
Lovely yummy idea.P.s. The web menu price need to be changed 😅 I thought Matcha Monster was $8.95 but it’s $9.30
The Chimney cakes are cooked to order, then topped with your choice of ice cream. During peak hours (evenings and weekends), anticipate a 20+ minute wait. After your confection is meticulously prepared, theyll call your #, and then its time to enjoy. I dare you to try one bite and not get hooked! My favorite Ive tried so far is the organic chocolate ice cream on a chimney cake. I ordered it with crushed Oreos and Nutella, and personally I dont think it needed the Oreos, but I was wanting more Nutella.
I wish there was more seating available. Besides thats the I intial greeting was great! Very inviting and helpful. Thank you for letting me try out the special flavor for the day. Walking in alongside the nicest cashier EVER is the smell of chimney cakes which is joined by sweetness. So worth the 20 minute drive, for me. The ice cream is so fresh! And creamy! Ill be back for sure.
Omg amazing 😍
My favorite chimney ice cream place in the area! Fresh made every time and the ice cream is perfectly swirled and not too sweet but also super cute design. Love how the owner’s creativity and makes is more than just some regular dessert.
Presentation is fantastic! Perfect textures, flavors, and size.
It was not bad, but I would not go out of my way to come here. The chimney cake did not taste fresh and strawberry ice cream was more of a sherbert. Not bad, just not what I wss expecting. I will give it another shot when I am in Anaheim again.
Delicious. Friendly staff. Following social distancing protocols. Not fast, but worth the wait!
Delicious Hungarian dessert!! Will definitely make a new tradition when in the OC!!!
Good not great. I need to try again
Their signature cakes are bomb. The Oreo overload, cookie luscious and tiramisu are a must have. Plus, the staff is so friendly.
Friendly staff, clean building, elegant, delicious, fresh ingredients, the BEST dessert in Orange County! I highly recommend House of Chimney Cakes!!
I come here all the time, and it is absolutely delicious!
So I saw this place on Instagram on bring me. Since I live in the area I had to go, Im a huge dessert person. I get there when it was actually not busy, it was a little awkwardly quiet with staff but they do what they do perfectly. They make the cone fresh right in front of you and its like perfect amount of crunch on the outside with perfect softness in the inside. I had the strawberry cheesecake and it was delicious. Its a little pricey but Id definitely go again.
Freshly baked cake and great flavor! Loved the ice cream as well. Also they have great service. Totally recommended
Love this bakery. The custard cream pan was so soft and yummy! Cutest pan I ever had.
If you go here, plan on waiting. Its worth it because everything is truly made to order while you watch. From rolling out the dough for the chimney cakes to the painstaking detail of hand decorating every order. So delicious! I also love how they have paper products and wooden spoons instead of plastic!!
This place is superb. Omar and his wife Sandra opened this very original funnel cakes eatery a few months ago... Sandra comes from Hungary, the origins of their idea to make funnel cakes filled with ice cream...Super friendly, excellent staff serving very tasty and moist cakes filled with super ice cream... The Travel Channel heard of them and visited them last month...Lines are very long as their reputation is growing...Definitely an awesome place...
Sooooo good. It melts fast, though. So dont wait to eat it.
Really good soft serve ice cream in a unique and delicious cone with tons of toppings to choose from. A fun and unique ice cream experience from a family owned small business.
This place took forever to make our orders. What came out looked good and tasted good too. On a couple items we thought we would have gotten more based on the cost, but no. This may be a one time place. Not sure yet. It is different to say the least.
So yummy and creative with the ice cream treats. And not only is the ice cream amazing but also the customer service! The lady who usually takes our order is super sweet and goes beyond for the customer!!! Love this place!
The ice cream base is like a soft serve ice cream but a little harder. A great treat but not for every day since they average $9 a pop.
Trdelnik on steroids! If youve been to Prague or Budapest youve seen these sweet pastries roasting over an open fire. This place has taken that Eastern European delicacy to new heights by adding ice cream and a boatload of toppings. Try the fashionista. You wont regret it!
Went for the first time today and was very impressed. The lady was very nice and explained the menu to us very well. Flavors are great and prices are very fair. Will definitely return and recommend to others.
Why is this place so good. Friendly staff that help explain stuff to which is helpful because the menu for a first time customer can be a little confusing. They made my cone fresh so it took a little while for me to get but I didnt mind that at all. The strawberry ice cream is delicious. Will definitely be back to try other flavors
Whoa...so good! I tried the cookies and cream and the apple pie ones. Shared both with my family. They were awesome!
Average taste. Good looking.
