This store blows my mind! I want to go back already! They had everything you could think of regarding the hobby. Tons of antennas of different styles on hand. They also had a large selection of radios. The employees there were great and super informative with all my questions. Definitely worth a visit if your into ham radio.

Amateur radio folk cant get enough of these folks.Its kinda like walking into a friends house, no rush no fuss and everybody is relaxed and helpful. They have plenty of gear and more knowledge!

First visit in 25 years. Getting back into radio finally. Great selection of books, gear and antennas. Nice to have several experts to talk to directly instead of ordering on line. I try to patronize small independent specialty stores/sellers instead Amazon when I can.

I had a very good experience at this location. After traveling in from out of town things went very smooth, and I was welcomed by them. Bob was my salesperson, and he did a terrific job assisting me with my purchase. I most definitely will return, and do look forward to it.

If youre into amateur radio and youve never heard of HRO, then youre not into amateur radio. The folks over here are, hands down, the best in the business. They know everything there is to know about playing radios and are willing to drop the knowledge on you, so long as youre ready to listen. Its also one of the very few places left in this world with prices BETTER than Amazon.com. If thats doesnt get you in the door, good! Save those smoking deals for me.

Initially I was a little disappointed at how small the store was when I walked in, but these guys pack an incredible selection into a small space.They had everything I was looking for to get my base, mobile, and HT outfitted the way I wanted it, and the pricing was at OR BELOW what I could get it on Amazon for. (I saved $15 on my Yaesu mic alone!)In-store, face-to-face transactions with a big selection and unbeatable pricing make this shop a must-visit before you make your next online purchase and think youre getting a deal!

They are fairly well stocked and it is nice to see the items you are purchasing. Unfortunately they are in a low margin electronics business of ham radio. I wish theyd offer more help, but I dont think they have been shown how. Take someone knowledgeable with you and you will do well.

They were so helpful and professional. I told them my tech license test is in about two weeks and I just wanted to check some things out and see if they had any suggestions. I was shocked by how helpful they all were.Billy Bob even showed us how easy it was to make contact with someone on the other side of the world. It took him seconds to get in touch with someone in Northern Italy. It was amazing!They walked me through different radio options and the differences in the licenses. I couldnt imagine a better way to start off my Ham journey. Ill be going back for sure.

Bought an open box Xiegu G90 radio over the phone. Talked to Billybob KB6CIA and he was extraordinarily helpful and friendly. He talked me through the radio and why it was openbox, and even directed me to a YouTube video he made of that specific radio that he put on his personal QRZ page. Great place to go if you need anything ham radio related. They dont just sell radios. I just bought some pieces to build my own antenna out of a coat hanger. Also the saff are kind and knowledgeable and new exactly what i was looking for when I asked.

In my experience, this is, by far, the best Ham Radio store Ive ever visited!! Their personnel work as a team to help a Ham realize his or her Amateur Radio desires. They bend over backwards to help you afford that which you desire. I consider it a kind of second home!

The only place to go for hams. I walked in and met a guy who I wish I could remember his name but was heavier older gentleman wearing a Hawaiian shirt. He showed me all the 2 meter transreceiver and gave honest advice regarding pros and cons. I had to wait for pay check but went back and got the transreceiver. Have had it installed now for a few weeks and love it. It is the best for what I want and need at this time. I will be going back when I get my extra.Edit: 2 weeks later I now remember the gentlemans name is Bob. I will have to call ahead to make sure he is working when I start my HF build.

As a new Ham, I visited this store to find out what hardware did what. The help I received was genuine, more like friends wanting to help you succeed at this new endeavor. The hardware options were large, and the wall of operating radios impressive. Each person that works their wore their call sign on their badge and to demonstrate the equipment, one pulled up a fellow ham in New Zealand to demonstrate some of the radio features.

I went here because I have emerged myself in this frequency hobby I enjoy so much. I explained I did not own a HAM Radio, but that I owned a police scanner and was interested in a better antenna for reception. They were not rude (dont get me wrong) but were very dismissive and un-interested with helping me once I told them what I was there for. They handed me an antenna and walked away. When I asked if I could look around a bit, they gave me the yea, yea, go ahead. This sucks cause I would of gladly returned to spend my hard earned money there when my time came to invest in HAM equipment. Hopefully its just this store, because reviews say otherwise! The cashier was the only guy who seemed helpful and so polite so thank you sir!In response to your reply:I wasnt trying to be rude or negative about your store or your service. Only place around...I think that they get so many lookie Lous that it is easy to overlook some customers who might be more serious in buying big ticket. Most Everytime I visit I have a pocket stuffed full of hundred dollar bills. I pretty much self serve myself. I probably dont look like the part. But all my purchases are usually cash and fairly big ticket. You would think sales staff would kinda spot me by now. I almost always come in before closing. Last couple of times I left with wallet not getting too thin because nobody had anything neat to sell me. You should give me discounts to be your secret mystery shopper. Sheesh I even drop hints saying I got a bunch of cash what do ya wanna sell me? Last few times I got out with only dropping about a hundred on some smalls. I would think that there would have been some good profit on selling more smalls. Not unusual for me to drop a couple hundred on books, Dont suppose as good a markup there.Its ok Guitar Center sales people have blown some big ticket sales too and let me walk out of the store with ten large in my pocket when I was looking at top shelf Lesters!

Bad shop where I will never set foot again.I went there with novice questions and got contempt in return because my radio was too cheap.Eventually I will buy higher end hardware, but not from this store.
