I purchased my laser from OMTech so I decided to also download Lightburn from them as well. It was a very easy transaction and within an hour or two, the product key was ready for use. If your using a laser from OMTech and didnt bundle this software when you purchased your machine then DEFINITELY get this software from them ASAP. Im being truthful here so theres a learning curve if your new like me but this software is a must for using your machine efficiently. Ive said this before but OMTech is an awesome company to deal with. Thanks OMTech for allowing everyone the opportunity to become part of the laser world.

Poor support via email only. Had support and sales via phone when we bought a month ago, now phone is disconnected and they haven’t been accessible by phone since then. Would not buy from them again.Since we posted this review, a few folks have reached out to us and explained reasonable reasons for the contact issues (which were out of their control) so we bumped their rating to reflect a better response protocol. We are assured that support will be handled much better now. As for the system we purchased, we are very happy with the C02 laser system itselfand look forward to making lots of projects.

I was surprised at the strength of the machine. The only drawback is the lack of info and what else you really should buy to get the most out of your laser. Look at the videos and forum info. The community facebook is a wealth of info. I do suggest a C5000 chiller and a good quiet air compressor. Well worth the money so far! .

I ordered a 2440-100W from OMTech Laser and within a week it was here! Their customer support regarding ordering and delivery was fine.It came in a big wooden crate on a metal pallet- this setup got our laser here in one piece. After a few hours of setup and double checking a lot, I have the laser engraving and cutting wood.PLEASE NOTE: Ive never used a laser before this, but this has been one of the most encouraging first impressions from a piece of technology, and OMTechs product definitely exceeded my expectations right out of the crate. I will most definitely purchase from them again in the future!

I purchased my 80 watts double Laser head, Laser Engraving in October 2020, and just now getting around to setting it up at my business. I called the OMTech Laser phone number I had to save in my phone from when I purchased it last year for help and I didnt realize I was calling one of the service reps Matthew, personal number until many calls later. After I realized it, I kept apologizing about calling his personal phone and his attitude on all occasions I called was professional and he went over and beyond to assist me and told me it was ok, he didnt mind. That made me feel really special. When he said he would follow up with me either by email or phone, he kept his word. That has been my experience with OMTech Laser, over the top,1st class, and professional with everyone I spoke with. If someone else dropped the ball with an issue or concern, someone else was there to pick up and resolved my problem with little to no downtime. Im very happy that I made my investment with OMTECH Laser.

The laser is great! One complaint I do have is the built in fan is too small for engraving wood; the fan doesnt expell the fumes fast enough so the room starts to fill up with smoke and burnt smell. I had to purchase another exhaust fan and it works great! Definitely look into building a new fan port for the machine.

Seriously disappointed in the lack of customer support I have received. I ordered the machine before Memorial Day. It was supposed to include a CW-5200 refrigerated chiller. It came with a CW-3000 non-refrigerated chiller. I contacted them immediately and they wanted me to ship the chiller back to them before they would send the correct one. I told them no as I didnt want wait for another week or more to be able to use the cutter. They then made me pay for the incorrect chiller so I could keep it while they sent the correct one and then return it. I did so and have not been able to get a response since then. Out the almost $200 for the wrong chiller and still havent gotten the correct one either. I have called and left numerous messages on their customer support line over the last month without a response.I am happy with the machine so far, but have gotten extremely frustrated by the lack of resolution and response.UPDATEShortly after posting this review and sending OMTech another email, I was contacted by their support team and they did ship the correct chiller to me. I have it installed and I am very happy with the machine in its final configuration. In the end they did come through and make it right and while I appreciate that, I wish it hadnt taken so long to get it done.

Bought a AF Series - CO2 Laser Engraver Cutting Machine with AutoFocus - AF2028-60 (60W 20x28). It is overall a quality machine, quick shipment, and shipping container was excellent. Bought this model in order to remove base and get it through a small door and into the basement.Previously owned a top end machine, and this machine is great for the amount of money I spend compared to my previous machine. Had a problem with setup (my fault) and tech support quickly provided the info necessary to correct the problem. This engraver will pay for itself in a few months. I recommended this engraver to my brother-in-law and he bought the exact machine. One recommendation, buy the Lightburn software. It is a great product and works well with the machine.

I am really enjoying the laser but sort of upset about customer service. I choose omtech because they were us based and spent the extra money for that.It came with cuts in both coolant tubes and the solder un welded on led light. Then the test fire button didn’t work because a wire was not connected. And all the mirrors are glued? The laser is out of alignment and I can’t adjust because of the glue on all the adjustment screws. They gave me $40 for new tubes and led light. I appreciated that. But no answers to other inquiries but only sent a 3 min video from the Chinese manufacturer, with no sound on how to adjust Mirrors. After countless hours on YouTube I was able to solve some problems and got my engraver adjusted only for half the engraving area.I will buy my upgrade unit direct from China next time since I have to make adjustments anyways and save some money. I was hoping for a machine ready to go but that was not the case for me.

Beware of buying from this company. I ordered a machine from them in May, received it July, damaged. Wheels were broken, chiller was placed on top of machine when packaging so walls are dented, table isn’t level, door doesn’t shut, etc. We immediately called OmTech expecting them to resolve this issue as we paid $7,000 and this just was not the case. They asked for pictures which we provided, and basically told us to see if the machine worked and if it didn’t they would send parts for us to replace ourselves. This is after waiting around 9-10 weeks for the machine in the first place. Then they proceeded to tell us it was basically cosmetic damage and that we are SOL. Such a headache. I would have rather purchased from somewhere more reliable and with better value for their customers.

I purchased a 60W CO2 Laser Engraver in June to replace the K40 I had been using for about 2 years. My only regret is that I didnt upgrade sooner. Everything about the Omtech laser is better, Power, size, controller, software etc. I absolutely love it. I also added Lightburn sofware and a camera system. Both are great additions to what is already a nice laser, but the camera is a game changer for me. I engrave a lot of odd shaped live edge plaques, and the camera makes it so much easier than what I had been doing. You cant beat the value of this system. I would highly recommend it.

I have the OMtech 1624 55W laser. The laser was shipped fast and I had a good experience with the shipping. I had to run a network cable to my garage and build stand to raise the engraver to good working height. When I fried it up it would not fire the laser because the lid is slightly out of alignment. I was able disable that from Lightburn. I did call tech support about it but I never did get a response (very disappointing.) So far I have had no problems with some simple projects I have tried. I sent an email asking about freeze protection using Polyethylene glycol to prevent freezing or using a fish tank heater keeping the pump running 24/7 the answer I got back was just to use anti-freeze, no direct reply about Polyethylene glycol or keeping the pump running 24/7 with a heater. It seemed like tech support does not return calls and spends the least amount of time possible replying to email questions. The machine itself so far is running way better than support from OMtech.

I really wanted to love this laser..I bought the Af2435 80w. It came quickly and appeared to be in good shape when delivered. I knew it would need some tweaking and set up and I was prepared for that. What I wasn’t prepared for was for the autofocus to be broken right out of the box, the bed to be so unlevel I had to learn to drop the motor, remove the chain and upon adjusting the set screws found not one, but 2 of them to be stripped and just resting in the holes. They sent a replacement and it’s the wrong size. After that (my bed is still not level), the mirror alignment was off (expected) however, the 3rd mirror had a gouge in it…ordered new ones, wrong size sent. So…I have a 24x35 laser bed in which I can now only use the right half of the bed and had to adjust the mirrors up to get around the going until the new parts come!

At the end of last year I ordered a 100 watt laser. Then I ordered the piece for the engraving bottles and a later a motor for the bed of the machine. They all arrived fairly quickly and in good shape, I think, since I havent even turned it on yet. On June 1st I purchased the Lightburn course for $250. The website says it may take 24 hours to receive an email with the license code. That came and went. I have emailed and or called everyday. The phone was answered 1 time and she was unable to update me, but said the guy was on vacation and he would send it that day which was last Thursday. I have yet to have a single email reply and still havent received it 8 days later. Supposedly I got tech support with the class, which does no good when they dont ever answer. I am self-employed and I dont like it when people leave me bad reviews but this appears to be the only way I might get in touch with these people to get what I ordered. Ordered a k40 from here. It came functional to work for a while. What broke or came out of whack was my fault. The classic upgrades like a quality tube (actually 40 watts), power supply, and such are included in the price which from 300 dollars on Ebay to 480 through OmTech at time of purchase made a lot of sense to me. The American based support and warranty was also something I considered to be worth the price difference easily. The barebones machinery is still victim to classic k40 gantry welded to the frame problems which some paper shims helped. The x axis gantry came out of whack at some point to which was a slight nightmare. It didn’t help I didn’t remember there were two y axis pulleys to tighten so a month and a half of lopsided tension didn’t help at all. All that said this puppy cuts through quarter inch solid wood at ~15% for poplar and 35% for hardwoods like oak and maple in one pass at 10 mm/s.As a company I think OmTech should make its mark by providing comprehensive and more robust customer service regarding the pitfalls of the k40 machine and how to fix them, particularly gantry issues and belt tension advice that comes with the machine as well as cleaning advice for regular use. It took me a minute to realize I should be cleaning the x axis gantry for smoke buildup which will eventually strain the motor. All of the info is available on YouTube and beyond but if OmTech could collate that information and slap its logo on an instruction manual of some sort then they would shine and be a mark ahead of Ebay retailers and draw more customers in through that alone as they did me.What help I did need from them came quickly. The laser was in my home within a week after ordering. Probably less. OmTech is great so five stars. K40 sucks so for that it’s no fault of theirs. I haven’t upgraded to a higher wattage machine but I would say k40 is fantastic for learning and above would be great for doing real work if you already know the ins and outs. This is THE company for entry level hobbyists.

I bought the MF2028-80 from OMTech. Setup and operation takes a bit of research and practice, but the trade off is a very affordable laser that competes with name brand lasers. The only issue I had was a burnt out lens (again due to my own user error), but I called OMTech and let them know the situation. They promptly replaced my lens with TWO lenses from a local supplier. Most issues that I see from other users relate to LTL shipping issues outside OMTechs control, are user error because they didnt properly research their lasers functionality. For example running their laser tube at 100% power when you shouldnt be running more than 65-70% (Again, research).Folks needs to understand that these arent plug and play. You need to setup the chiller, setup the exhaust, align the mirrors, level the bed, and download the software.....THEN you can play. Its the same process for any tool. Even the big names require this from time to time.

Love my 60w OMTech laser! Purchasing it has been a life changing decision for me and I could not be happier with my machine and the customer service I received. My first laser actually arrived crushed and damaged from the LTL carrier and the team at OMTech was amazing at getting it sorted and swapping it out for a new machine. I asked to go with a different LTL carrier for the second time around and what a difference it made!As far as my 60w goes- it is my first machine and it is a great starter machine for those looking to get into lasers. Set up wasnt bad at all with all the resources available. I feel like my machine was pretty well aligned off the truck which was awesome- just some minor testing and adjustments to tune it all in. Since purchasing my machine back in March ive already been adding upgrades to it (inline fan+double wall tubing, chiller, rotary and working on air assist now) and I really like how you can upgrade as you go and fix it yourself. I do recommend the upgraded inline fan with the double wall tubing right off the bat as it really helps with the fumes; especially if you vent out the wall/ window. That was all I needed when I started out- everything else im just adding as I go.In all- im very happy with my machine and the service that I received.

This company is absolutely horrible. We ordered a 50w with passthrough machine. They gave us the wrong 50w, decided for us without consulting us that it was a good replacement for our needs and didnt offer a refund for the difference. Then when telling them it was wrong, they didnt believe us and after a heated discussion, they agreed it was incorrect. They then promised it would be picked up a certain day and that was never scheduled which delayed the shipment of the correct unit. Eventually the one we had was picked up and after calling them for a few days they confirmed the replacment was shipped out. A few days later, this replacement machine was delivered, YET AGAIN it was the wrong machine. We refused delivery and they again didnt believe us it was the wrong one. They then claimed the third unit would ship out on a friday before the holiday. They even swore it would be correct after even sending us photos of the correct crate and part number. That didnt happen again and they didnt think to tell us about an update or anything after ensuring they would call and provide an update. After calling for days to get a hold of Matthew without any information, we got a hold of him on Thursday last week. He didnt know what was going on and said they didnt know which freight carrier picked up our machine.Today, just now, the third machine was delivered. But guess what? It was wrong again!!!! I dont know how this company stays in business if they cannot even confirm part numbers on their crates. Their customer service is absolutely horrible and they now have our $2K and still three weeks after we were supposed to have our machine we are out of a laser engraver. The COO kept saying how much fun we would have using it and how beneficial it would be for our business, but one would actually need a laser to be able to do any of that.

When the unit arrived missing parts and and with a broken laser tube I was referred to email exchanges with China based supplier. After days of waiting 24 hrs between emails, they claim they dont have a tube available to replace the broken merchandise and offered a $280 refund to find my own tube somewhere for a part the website has listed as in stock and available for $399 plus shipping. Phone calls to the California based location go to voice-mail and unanswered. Actual customer service has been nonexistent and more like dealing with aliexoress or eBay. Either go with an actual us based company or save yourself some money and dont pay the premium for us based sales since its not any better than dealing with a Chinese supplier.
