They supply tomatoes and cucumbers to local grocers, but it is always great to go over and pick from the freshest harvest. Beyond being one of the premier greenhouses in Alaska, with a history that is worth knowing about, they also have a pretty incredible gift shop tucked in with a coffee shop nestled in as well. You could seriously spend hours there. Everyone is super helpful and what they don’t know they know who does. Go in there on a gloomy day and you will forget the sun is missing.

Thank you Bells for your hanging basket sale over Memorial Day! Costcos selection was poor this year and you had a wonderful selection to choose from and I bought 2 of them to hang on either side of my garage door.

Lovely greenhouse with very high quality plants. Both my mom and I make annual trips to here and their other locations to stock up for the growing season. Coffee and soup served in the summer makes a lovely afternoon cafe.At Christmas time they have all of these little diorama miniatures in one section thats tradition to go and see when its time to get a Christmas tree.

First time here and I was surprised with how big the place was and how much cool stuff there was. The staff is super nice which might of even been the best part.

My wifes favorite nursery to visit. Huge selection, flowers are always healthy. The winter storage for hanging baskets is a great service as well. Bells is always our first stop on mothers day and will be for years to come

Plants are plentiful and healthy and staff friendly and helpful. Keep in mind this is a popular place so lots of people and may have to park away from the front.

A large selection of plants and gift items along with a small selection of garden supplies. Unfortunately the prices were excessive on most items. On the other hand it is the best place to get cheap, locally grown, vine ripened tomatoes. Note that all selections and the quality of plants are best at the start of the season.

I have been coming here for years. All things considered it has been a positive experience. I enjoy the cafe, especially in winter. The staff has been friendly and helpful through the years.

Empty, not that theres much to do about that during this time. The business seems more focused on their food and gift shop than plants, which makes sense, since they didnt have much as far as the plants go. In my opinion it came off as stuffy and boring as far as the atmosphere goes and the staff seemed dazed and confused when we were asking questions. I dont think Id go back. But if you are into fancy jewelry, yuppy kitchenware and expensive candy, then this might be the place for you. 😉

For specialty cookware and serving ware, plants, fine candies, and other choices, Bells remains a top tier go to for a reason - even when it isnt running an indoor season extension for the absolutely killer South Anchorage Farmers Market.

Fun place to walk around for some local veggies, seafood, jam, beer and other local food along with the shops inside.

I had a wonderful time in touring the whole nursery what gorgeous items you have for all seasons it was truly a great time exploring this nursery and their gift shop I highly recommend this place to all my fellow servicemembers veterans and families and community members you will not be disappointed you will love this place. If you were military just ask for a 10%, andd they will give it to you

Every Saturday after Thanksgiving we head here for huge choice of Christmas 🎄. Staff is awesome.

Very friendly staff and plenty of beautiful plants, which you expect from a nursery, but then they have a fantastic gift shop with homewares, fine china & glassware, local artists creations, and a kids section. It was a great shopping trip. Too bad the cafe is closed because of Covid.

I really appreciate that they require both employees and customers to wear masks. Always beautiful plants. Today they had $20 off all of their hanging baskets which is a fabulous value.

Bells Nursery is not just a nursery. Yes their nursery is exceptional. They also gave fine purses, jewelry, crystal, perfumes, lotions, cards, oh and Sees Candy. Coffee sold with a nice area to sit and visit 😊. Too many things to list. Associates are very friendly and helpful. Hope you go! We will when we return to Alaska 😊👍

I love this place. Every time I come here the staff is helpful and there are so many amazing products. Not just plants.

Bell’s has a great selection at its Cranberry Road greenhouses in April. But the main nursery off of D’armoun Rd is superb with cafe and gift store deluxe. Their hanging baskets are positively outstanding whether you choose the largest ($60) size or smaller square pots. I get lost in the gorgeous plants every time I take myself there. The personnel are always helpful with botanical questions and strong backs to help with carrying.

Expensive, but great service.

Pointed me in the right direction to get my plants ready to bounce back in spring.

They have a good variety of plants that are able to grow and survive in Alaska. They have good specials, just be on the lookout for them, some of the popular items can go fast. Fun to walk around and find that new thing you want to grow this year. Read the labels, all the information you need is on there.

What a fun place, just like all other nurseries they have a wide variety of plants. I was there over the holidays and their Christmas trees looked healthy and beautiful. Is a great place to find unique gifts and other fun collectible items. You might grab a friend and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while youre there.

Bells is awesome. What can I say? Im a mid twenties male and I go there for quality flowers. Normally I get bulbs in the fall, fresh grown tomatoes and cucumbers in the summer, poinsettias in the winter. Im not so into it but there is also a bit of decorative pottery, a coffee shop, and Sees candy/ chocolates whatever. I always see some people enjoying scones and coffee and taking it slow. Its whatever your into but the flowers and plants are amazing and well tended.

Love this nursery for hanging baskets and garden starters. Employees could work on their customer service try to be more friendly and helpful with questions instead of acting annoyed....

I do not know why I took so long to come to Bells, but I dont think Ill ever go back to buying my plants at a hardware store again. The plants are healthy and the prices are great! I was shopping for a business that wanted to decorate their entrances, and thanks to Bells, I came in under the budget.

I like this place but could do without the polital signs at the greenhouse entry. Cant we even go shopping without politics?

Such a lovely place! At Christmas, the green house full of fresh trees smells incredible. Seeing tables full of Poinsettias cheers my heart. The gift shop has everything youd expect at Christmas, including specialty China, glassware, linens, Christmas Village collections, and Sees Candy. They have their usual gift merchandise, including new items like hand made purses from CO, organic cotton baby close, condiments, soaps and many other unique products. The Expresso bar is open. Relax with an Eggnog Steamer or cup of tea, with a favorite pastry and enjoy the inviting sitting area.

Bells Nursery is by far the best in anchorage! Not only can you get plants, but you can grab a coffee, but a gift for someone, whether it be jewelry, pottery, tableware, fine soaps or delicious See’s candies! The plants are very well tended and there is a large variety as well. It has such a lovely and welcoming atmosphere there and I look forward to my frequent visits there! Thank you bells!

Bell’s has a gorgeous selection of gifts, plants, seasonal decorations, and dishes. It has such a pleasant atmosphere, especially around the holidays. I’ve bought several trees here and the staff are knowledgeable and pleasant. The coffee shop is very pleasant as well and has flowers on all the tables. If you’re ever having a dreary day, Bell’s will cheer you up!

Came looking for Halloween pumpkins that might be a little better quality than the grocery store ones... expected prices to be high, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were on the beautiful pumpkins that we bought! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and all the pumpkins had stickers clearly marking the price of each, making it easy to decide.

Love, LOVE this place! Everything about Bells is a wonderful eclectic mix that runs the gamut from practical and fun to cool and classy.

We go each year to get a wreath and chocolates. They have a nice selection of gifts of all kinds and price points. Lots of friendly people work here and provide above average service. They also serve coffee and snacks, but I have not ever ordered anything. Maybe next year.

Great local nursery to buy flowers for the summer as well as shrubs and fruit bearing plants. They have a great gift shop as well. At Christmas-time they have fresh trees to purchase. All in all a wonderful place!

If you havent been, dont wait any longer. This is alot more than a nursery, thou they have hundreds of incredible hanging baskets. Bells has all kinds of seasonal merchandise, this would be a great place to find a gift for someone special. The have great radio commercials telling you what is in season down a Bells, so when you hear the messages you have to make a stop.

Unique nursery. MUCH larger and nicer than I was expecting on the inside. Definitely worth a visit for unique plants/gifts. The little coffee shop was great too!

Such a great store. Wonderful gifts. My time looking at everything was awesome. I live on muldoon and bus ride over and i dont regret the travel time 😊 definitely want to go when i have spending money.

I brought a person with sevier disabilities to the coffee shop (so pretty). And they let us sit at a table for nearly three hours, while I read to my individual. Very peaceful place.

Great place for gardening supplies

Ive been to the one on Cranberry, and the folks there were very helpful. The location on Specking has more staff, but they arent as friendly. I have had the unfortunate opportunity to speak with the owner off-site at an RC event and I have to say I was extremely disappointed in his chauvinistic attitude. As a married woman with kids present, being offered a private tour of his tomato greenhouse if I was able to rid myself of my baggage is totally unnecessary and unwanted. Due to that, I will never shop at Bells again.

Great products, friendly staff

Excellent greenhouse and household shopping. They have one of the only places in Alaska to buy Sees Candy, and they have several Christmas and other holiday decorations. They also serve coffee and soup.

Not the nicest employees. I found the staff at Dimond green house much more friendly & a lot more helpful. Also, theyre prices are really high for hanging baskets, unless theyre on sale. P & M Garden in Eagle River is my favorite, but if you dont mind the drive, its worth the trip.

Called ahead to check that an item was in stock. Customer service answers yes. Drove across town to find out that they ran out a while ago. Irritating.

Always love coming here to buy all my flowers, herbs, and veggies for my gardens every year. There is always a wide variety of plants. Only problem is you need to get your squash plants pretty early or there wont be any left and you will have to do some running around to find some.

I actually enjoy going for hot chocolate or steamers in the winter nearly as much as for flowers in spring.

Fantastic, large nursery! They have just about anything you could be looking for.... Then plus some.

Service was pretty good. I bought some tomato plants and the caterpillars that came with them invaded my greenhouse. They dont raise all their plants. These were imported.

They did a fantastic job of taking care of my plants for this past winter. I was overwhelmed by the size and the health of the plants. Just remember to be kind enough to show up no later than 5:30 during the week to pick them up!!
