Menards is a fantastic store to purchase tools and home improvement materials. They often have good deals and their prices are usually better than the other big hardware stores.I recommend Menards for items that they sell.

I frequent this location a lot and have ordered online for pickup in stores as well. Great store but customer service needs some work.

If youre responsible and keep your receipts then its their 11% off everything sale right now. I love the sale prices that they have its comparable to other homr improvement companies but it isnt my number one place to go because they dont carry a specific brand of tools that Im quite fond of. So if I do a big project (which one is coming up) I will either have to go to that other store or go to both regardless. So save a few bucks on some material and go right down the road to get some tools. This is my life because Im a thrifty fella.

Best place to buy 2% milk, its Hiland Dairy, tastes just like AE!! Only $2.79 per gallon, we get 2 gallons at a time. Great help to cut costs for home or daycare!

It does not matter when or which Menards for that matter even that I go to and there will be more employess on the floor than customers and not one of them will offer any help, when asked where an item is they have no clue or dont even know what it is that I ask for and when one see me heading in their direction they take off. I NEVER am able to get help especially out in the yard with like outdoor items.

Always the place to find the things that you cant at other stores. So much so, that it has become our go to now over home Depot or Amazon. Recently I was looking for the worx gt weed trimmer and after being unable to find it at either Amazon or home Depot(both out of stock for months now), I found it at Menards! And that is just one of the many things that Ive found here over the other two. I like these guys and definitely going to be visiting more often for my needs over the others

Harbor freight always has them beat on tool and storage prices, but they obviously have a larger selection. The proximity and selection are why I typically go here. If Im looking at a higher dollar item, Ill price shop similar items at harbor freight.This store does beat home depot pricing, but I do feel HD has better quality wood selection.

Great service from employees. Plenty of extension cords to select fromand easy to follow signs. Bathrooms were very clean as well. My only issue was how you cant leave the store without going through the checkout line.

Conveniently located right off I35 this store has it all. To say the neighborhood is congested would be an understatement, so take care in the undersized parking lot. I was impressed with the selection of usual and unusual items they carry. Excellent help from the department staff. Check-out staff were cordial but sadly could not sing the Save Big Money jingle.

Went late. Store was pretty empty so the service was extraordinary. They wanted to go home.This store is huge.

Nick, Kyle, frank and another gentleman who seemed to be the manager but I did not catch his name (brown hair/glasses.)were amazing! I had originally placed an online order with Home Depot and after waiting on the phone for 10 minutes while I contacted customer service to get some help from them and waiting on the phone for 10 minutes with the pick up department (while I was sitting there I placed my order through Menards online and I returned my items from Home Depot) because even when stepping into Home Depot recently no one ever asked do you need any help with anything. then after trying to contact them through phone while sitting in their parking lot and no one was able to pick up the phone at all. I came into Menards originally needing to pick up a curbside order and realize that I forgot one item so I came in and I actually went to the curbside pick up on foot where all of these gentlemen either helped me in one way shape or form from by offering to carry my items up to the front, (because I did have quite a few items) or just asked if I had already been helped. I haven’t had customer service like that at a Home Depot or a Lowe’s in a very long time. So thank you so much for showing me what Menards is all about. I will definitely be back!

I so love Menards. Its almost as good as shopping at WalMart. Most times the service is really helpful and friendly.

Nicest most friendly employees have become friends with many of the frontline checkers, managers, and Dept specialists. Happy people reflective of a positive work environment and Menard’s “culture”! Much of the reason I choose to shop there. Trickle down positive work environment started at the top with Tim GM all the way down.

Didnt have the walnut wood I was looking for but everyone that helped me was very nice and professional. Shopping for bathroom vanities, I have done a lot of comparison shopping and I must say that Menards seemed to have the least amount of selection and what they did have appeared higher priced for lesser quality. I did take advantage of their 11 percent rebate for a different purchase I was making.

Its great that Menards has the face mask policy. Now if the rednecks would wear them over their mouth and nose, that would be even better! The Menards usually has everything I need in stock and their prices are good. I do wish they would a few self-checkout lanes.

Hi. I went into the Ankeny store to exchange tote lids because they were the wrong size for the totes I bought. I was told I just needed to bring the lids. When I got to the store I was tips that wasnt correct and I needed to bring the entire tote. No apology no anything just that was wrong. The fork that was helping me with my other returns also acted like it was a huge inconvenience for her to help me. I tried to make small talk and friendly conversation with her and she just gave me nasty looks and scanned the returns. I had other things I needed to purchase while I was there but after the horrible customer service I went to home depot too buy them instead.

I found everything I was looking for. Except.... blades for a Black and Decker jig saw. Evidently, when they switch brands, they stop stocking the original brands consumables.

I consider Menards like a combination of Walmart and Home Depot. Sort of a dept store with lots of home and building supplies with some groceries thrown in to boot. Very large stores, usually well stocked and an 11% rebate on everything. Priced are generally reasonable but as with any large store of this type it can be difficult to find someone to help you. All things considered it gets 4 1/2 stars rounded up to 5!

Pretty much like any Menards. Doesnt seem to have much for lawn furniture though.

Over sold me by almost 50% on flooring and underlayment I didn’t need, did not call me as promised when my flooring would be available for pickup… installed the floor and realized I’d been played, but was past my 90 day window for a refund (because I waited almost two months to just go to the store because they didn’t call). That was my first purchase at Menard’s on their card. Now I am stuck with $880 left to pay on my Menard’s card and an $880 gift card. Lying is not a good sales tactic

If you want to go on a wild goose chase come here!Horrible customer service .Had to ask multiple people how to find things... each one acted as though we were bugging them.One guy actually just kept walking and said go back to the cabinets when looking for a tool kit...What a joke, going to Home Depot from now on!

Today I got a class in Menards Math. A vanity they claimed was originally priced at $249 was marked down to $125. I pointed out that it wasnt a $249 vanity, it was a $199 vanity. So they adjusted the price - to $139.Id called about this unit a few days earlier and the agent swore he had searched up and down and it wasnt there.Nothing left to say except... Why bother?

I went in to pick up a screening tool. I had checked inventory ahead of time and it said they had 9 pieces of that tool. After looking around and getting some associate assistance, we determined they didnt have any of those tools. Great inventory system! I ended up going to Home Depot to get the device. They had numerous on hand.

Always am able to find anything I might need from here. The lines moved quickly, and there wasnt any crowding at all.

Low inventory levels. Had to go to Ankeny where there was ample supply. Inferior quality product had to be exchange. No stock.

Menards in Ankeny, is always hit or miss with employee assistance, but they typically have what is needed in stock. However, this last visit the help was there with my questions for what I needed to install barn doors in my home.

Found what I wanted easily and check out was quick & friendly.

I was in a hurry and every employee who helped me was able to respond with courtesy and adequate speed. I only needed 1 item, but it required a trip to the yard. I was still able to get in and out in 10 minutes.

My trip to Menards was great. I got everything I needed. The customer service was friendly and helpful. Way to go. I hope your visit goes as well as mine.

Menards always has what you need. And sometimes has what you dont need. Especially if you listen to your spouse.

Tool selection is terrible. Only house brand or cheap tools. Rebate system is horrible. Save 11% only to be forced to spend the money there. The outdoor lumber yard is complicating unless you go there everyday and already know where things are. Return process is horrible. If you return something with out receipt, they take the lowest sale price and plus another 11% off that and give you store credit. By the time you get the store credit, it seems like you only get a small fraction of what you actually spent.

Usually struggle to find help in any menards, but we were in the paint section and Stephen did a great job helping us.

Purchased a floor lamp & bulbs. A young gentleman helped us & was very friendly.

I was disappointed with my last couple of trips as when I needed to find an employee, once approaching and eye contact was made, they break away. Overall, the employees I interacted with didnt seem interested in assisting. Quite a difference from the Home Depot down the street where the employees were very helpful.

Im trying to figure out since when i can be denied service for not wearing a mask and i clearly showed them a doctors note signed from my doctor that i cannot wear a mask? I make sure i dont bring my kids or anything to any store i go to because of needing to wear a mask, i always come by myself and i always have my doctors note on hand for any employee to see if i am asked why i dont have one. This is by far the worst store ever. None of the other stores has denied me service because of not having one. But the manager said they are a private store and deny service to anybody. I feel thats total biased and bs. If you have a note from a doctor that should not qualify private store or not. I am a single mither its not like i have someone who can go to the stores for me. I will be contacting whoever i need to contact about this

Needed some help with flooring and fencing parts. Ben was great at helping me with the right choices available and showed me several options. He also saved me time by pointing me to the fencing as it was in a new spot since the last time I needed parts. Great service.

7/29/20 3-4pm: Michelle in flooring couldn’t be bothered for 15 mins with an inventory check so some kid from another department stumbled to help.Meanwhile she acted like I was the first person to ask/annoy her to use her phone and look up stock.The result was me waiting 30 mins up front for “palette in back” and 10 employees just hanging out around customer service desk.After having some tall kid call Michelle about it, he really tried to keep a straight face about Michelle “stalling” in back with fictional customers, looks like they pull this little stunt often. Will never be back and a $2000 order is sitting somewhere.

Needed a metal pipe cut to length so I could haul it home. Was told I could buy a hacksaw and THEN the associate would cut it for me. How is it you cut wood, trim, and PVC, but as a home improvement store, youre not equipped to cut a metal pipe if needed?

We just went in to return some batteries.we had no problems exchanging for the right size.everyone had a mask on.

I went out to pick up an order and it was a pull my own and I kept getting pushed off to someone else finally one man came with me and he stayed until he found someone to get my fence for me and he made sure I didnt need anymore help before he left he was very nice. Then in the garden center outside I was loading up river rock in my car and a man stopped what he was doing and came and got off his forklift and helped me load my car I received very good customer service and I drive from the far side of Des Moines to come to this location!

Used to be my go to store until they started demanding masks. I was forced to leave because I refused to put on a mask if they are so concerned about the people coming in to the buisness and they employees they would have shut the doors on day one like the mom and pop stores. They would have demanded the masks if they had to stay open from day one. This is just another one of their scams I will not go for lost my buisness for a very long time. I was a loyal customer.
