I brought my friend here after seeing it online and we were both pleasantly surprised by the charm and personality of this hole in the wall. I knew shed love it because of her passion for reading but I ended up having a great time as well checking out the unique decor and wide variety of books. Make sure to check out the secret garden out back!

We had a house full of guests who wanted to explore the best of Maryland and we spent the day in Annapolis. This book store was on our schedule and it was a huge hit! The way the store is decorated and the way the books and merchandise are displayed create a nostalgic and mysterious feeling. The childrens section is adorable. The coffee shop within the store adds a nice touch even if you are not buying coffee because the aromas are intoxicating. One of our guests bought several books. I look forward to coming back.

Who doesnt love a bookstore? Bezos didnt get this one yet! Its got a lot of old books, which are creatively displayed. The basement has a cool room with Harry Potter and other similar books in a cool display area. I didnt try the coffee. Definitely worth stopping in.

Pretty on the outside but ugly on the inside....This bookstore is a treasure. It is simply a wonder for the senses. There is a gorgeous backyard for relaxing. I went here with my family during memorial day and ordered coffee and treats. The service was AWEFUL. No one asked me for my order. When we were finally addressed the woman was snarky at best. When I said thank you for my coffee, she said yeah. When I asked where I should wait because my kids wanted to explore, she said where ever you want. I just wish the service was as beautiful as the place. The people were simply mean.

Um, if I could just move in here, I would. Lovely bookstore that Id been trying to get to for some time now. Finally had some time one fall afternoon. The charm of the place is impossible not to notice the minute you walk through the door. Towards the back of the main floor theres a full on coffee shop that makes a mean Americano. I spentb way more $$ on a bar if chocolate (a specialty item)... But after taking one bite I had zero regrets. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. There is outdoor seating with a fantasy like small backyard. This is a great place to spend an afternoon, relaxing, reading and enjoying a good book. 🦊

I came in because the store is so cute and has so many great options! Unfortunately, masks were not being enforced while I was in the store (two women had no masks while looking at books) and a couple others too. I was so uncomfortable that I left. It would be a great local store I just hope they start requiring masks!

The best bookstore Ive ever seen! Small and intimate. New books and some precious oldies next to each other. A wonderful remnant of the heyday of independent bookstores. On first glance, it appears to be more coffee shop than bookstore, but look for the narrow spiral staircase leading to the lower level and many more books that are shelved on the main floor. On a nice day, the porch and terrace are a great place to enjoy the coffee with friends.

I could spend hours here! We stopped in for a quick look that turned into an hour of browsing through the eclectic mix of new and used books while enjoying a coffee. Our drinks were so good that we made our way back to the store today before departing Annapolis - and I left with another book! They also have a fun assortment of witty greeting cards that elicited some audible chuckles.

An absolute treasure in the bohemian heart of Annapolis. Before Old Fox, the Annapolis Bookstore stood in this location; when they decided to relocate further up Maryland Avenue, we were heartbroken, but Old Fox has taken everything they did well and improved it tenfold. This bookstore stocks a huge variety of aged but well-loved books, as well as new selections especially in their childrens nook. There is a Harry Potter theme throughout, which probably appeals to the Rowling fans. Their coffee shop in the back is quaint, but the prize area is the rear garden with its tranquil green space and reading area. Love this place.

This is a magical wonderful used book store. You open the door and the comforting smell of coffee and paper surrounds you. They have bookcases filled with an variety of different books (as one expects in a used store) and a few comfy spots scattered about to sit and read in, as well as a few dining tables with chairs for those who purchased a drink or a snack. When we walked, they would a copy of the Marauders Map on the main long table (something which I had always wanted to play around with, and did so for a while). This, however, is only the upstairs, folks. Down a vintage circle staircase is the basement, filled with more books and tables and comfy chairs, as well as an assortment of eclectic decorations. While you browse the titles, you can hear the creaking of wooden beams overhead as people walk about on the main floor. After all this, we discovered the backyard, which had a little book house that appears to be designed for little ones, and tables set in and around green shrubbery, with a suit of armor guarding the door to reenter the shop. All in all, my favorite bookstore Ive been in, very welcoming atmosphere for browsing, reading and relaxing.

Annapolis has a lot of bookstore that remind you of the movies...old, smell like decaying paper, and really cheap but great quality books. Old Fox was totally different. It was clearly new and decorated by a much younger group. This store had such a wide variety for its size. It had everything from history, science fiction, hobbies, comedy, to some that I believe would be classified as Wiccan How-To Guides. The place itself didnt feel too crowded and there was a large part of the store dedicated to a sitting area for the cafe. The staff were friendly and helpful as well!

As every book shop should be - unique and welcoming. Fox Books is literally the Shop Around the Corner. Grab a book, snuggle up in a corner, the only sound youll hear are the footsteps. Even on a Sunday before closing, the walkways are a constant flow of couples and browsers. I followed the finding staircase down to discover Harry and Hedweg, shelves are loosely labeled by category, and random baskets and crates hold surprise books, mysterious wrappings, and intrigue. At checkout, we verified our purchases at the desk, the pricing can be a little tricky, but very reasonable. We were also notified that Horcruxes are all over the building and only one had been found, so thats reason alone to return. I may have spotted the sword...Which House are you?
