Very rude workers. Came to donate furniture. My uhaul had the things I need to dump in the back, and the things I needed to donate closest to the door. The manager Jerry came out and took one look and told me he didnt want my junk. I attempted to explain that I was only trying to donate the 2 coffee tables and bar cart, the rest was for the dump. Without looking at any of it he said we dont want it and left...I ended up dumping all of it. dont know what the mission is here but if its to support people in need, they do a great job encouraging waste instead.
It was great some friendly workers. If you ask a certain simple question they have a few workers that are rude with answers even toward elderly. Make sure you have hand sanitizer and a mask we saw a 2 little kids coughing on stuff. But overall its a great store. Get in early when they have the good stuff.
It would be extremely helpful if the website showed the hours for drop-off donations. It shows hours of operation from 10 til 7 Mon thru Sat. We didnt know the donation section closes at 3 until we drove there with a fully loaded pickup truckNot very good Customer service!!
Great store! Fantastic staff! They are energetic, enthusiastic, and professional here. I was able to find nice suit jackets in my size for only $9 each. What a bargain.
Well organized, clean. Great customer service!
Donating? Have some good stuff? Save yourself an enormous headache trying to deal with the endless, PICKY donation rules in Annapolis and support the Goodwill Store in Bowie! MUCH easier location to work with!!
Fun store to visitLots of variety like the others. But unglike the other, this store appears to have no incentive program for repeat customer. With my membership in Annandale, I get 75% discounts off specifically ma ked price tags.Still the values are to be found!
You really need to dig, but you can find really good things there
My all time favorite store! For about 15yrs.i love/supported this store.it was my best.it gets 10 stars👍🤗♥️
At this time, not worth shopping at. Very low inventory of summer clothes. Not sorted according to sz. Only had 1 person checking out line of customers. And not friendly. As for visual of store, very sloppy. You can tell they try to organize but not consistently. I’ve been to better. Disappointed because I heard good things about this one and it’s in Annapolis.I can say, been there but won’t be back!
This place is the hidden treasure of goodwill stores! Great clothes for really great prices. Its clean and set up nice. Everything is spread out and easy to browse through
Where is the good will?I and others showed up with lots of clothes and were shooed away as annoyances by a grumpy person as if we were asking for a favor?Apparantly we hadnt memorized their unique schedule - clothing cannot be dropped off after 3 00 PM on Monday. Off to Purple Heart I go.
Sure the store had plenty to choose from, but none of that matters if the employees are rude. Not sure when they stopped providing bags for items, inconvenient but not a big deal. If youre going to speak softly, get mad when I cannot hear you, and then shake my receipt in front of me saying hellooo when I finish checking out, please reevaluate if you should be working in customer service. You work at goodwill, sure that may not be the best job in the world, but dont show it for heavens sake.
Unfriendly staff, short responses as if they dont want to be bothered. These prices at this Goodwill location are over priced.
Is it because this is Annapolis? Or do they just not need donations anymore? The store is open but every time I stop by, there is a chain across the entrance to the drop off lane. So frustrated with Goodwill that I won’t go back. I have an entire house worth of donations due to a family member passing. This area doesn’t compare to the Central PA and Carroll County Goodwill.
Lots of broken stuff, high prices, employees have negative attitude, store is a disaster. Will never return.
Sometimes you find a treasure; sometimes you don’t but that is how it is with Goodwill hunting. Cashier is rather rude & have encountered this a couple of times which can be, frankly, such a downer. Prices have gotten too high for a second hand place and also I am disappointed with Goodwill no longer selling jewelry — they do it all online now.
Should be more organized, but it was very clean
Always pleasant when dropping off items, but disappointed by all of the trash around the property. Horrible.
All of your stores must have restrooms open to the public
Drove a hour back to here to do a return and just because it was a couple of hours over 48 hours the manager would not do a return.
I bought a suitcase today for $8. Good deal. Use to work there 13 yrs ago. I rate it 5 stars
This goodwill is very disorganized. Clothing is not organized by size so I found myself having to go through every single item to try and find stuff in my size. I usually look for really unique vintage clothing and, while I did come out with 2 amazing 90s skirts, I found that this goodwill lacked the treasures I was looking for. Majority of the clothing here is just pretty basic and uninteresting. The housewares were just kind of strewn about as well and nothing looked really interesting enough for me to root through it. I can’t say I would be interested in returning to this location.I would also like to note that I really wanted to buy a beautiful little purse that I found, but the employee at the register refused to sell it to me because it was found without a sticker. I get that corporate has to keep track of inventory or whatever, but I think this is one of the worst rules they could have ever enforced - no only are the losing an immediate sale, they are upsetting an interested customer. I understand this is policy in majority of the goodwill stores now, but they should seriously rethink that. Just something to think about when shopping.
Fast drop off service but currently only open to drop off donations one day per week.
I like to pop in and look for deals. You never know you might find. This one has a lot of womens clothes decorative home and kitchen stuff and xmas stuff all year round. I always get impulsive and bring way more than necessary home
In the store and customers are not social distancing and a woman here has been shopping maskless for over 20 minutes. An employee looked right at her and said nothing.
This is a quite large Goodwill Store. There is Furniture here, but not necessarily huge pieces. Much clothing, books, kitchen, cooking, decorative stuff, shoes and sporting good for everyone. Last weekend of the month is discounted clothing. Everyone is very nice. Donations around the back.
Wonderful Goodwill. It really improved when they opened that wall up and made it larger. They reorganized, and it is lovely now. I do think all the mens suits and jackets should be the same price as in Virginia. There are name brands priced high but they price them higher and the fabric is not in vogue at this time because even though it is a name brand it may be a jacket or suit from 10/15 years ago and the whole design of fabric has changed so that should be paid attention to, not a criticism because I am into mens clothes and know what to look for. One that accord they should all be the same price. The managers are wonderful!!!!!!! Professional, Courteous, willing and ready to help just delightful. Courteous, always cashiers!!!! LOVE THE STORE.
I am from Virginia. I agree with most that the prices are a little high. In Virginia, they are less expensve. I attribute the higher pricing to the bigger city lifestyles. I thought the store was very crowded and a lot of of clothing was incorrectly sized and in the wrong gender places. However, I am fully aware some of that is due to customers. I think the store had a very nice housewares section and would be much better served if the store space were bigger. Employees appeared to be few in number, but my cashier was nice, polite and pleasant. By the way, like always, when shopping at Goodwill, I made a purchase! 🙂
Customer service is pretty poor. You can find some good items because of its location. Worth a visit every so often, but sometimes its not worth the hassel.
Extremely rude over the phone. Have some manners.
They have increased prices to where they are individually ticketing them now. Tops that were typically 4.99 have now increased to about 10-12 dollars depending on the brand. Not really too keen of this new change.
Prices are way too high. Used to be fairly priced. All the Goodwills have raised their prices. They are also doing away with the 25 percent off every fifth shopping trip starting January 1. $12.00 for a mens dress shirt? Guess if people go elsewhere they will will have to figure something out. It would also be nice if when you ask an employee a question, they actually may know the answer. This is a common problem at all the Goodwill stores. Seems like poor training.
Its a great place to fine deals, but you have to be willing to look. Have bought several books, pictures and china. When you find that bargain it makes you feel good. Also you in a way are helping disadvantaged individuals by buying.
One of my favorite places to go to its amazing are the treasures you can find.
Recently remodeled which really made it easy to move around. The check out is a lot more organized. They have a reward system too!
This Goodwill is good, but on the smallish side. They have a small selection of decent items. The staff is really nice, and calm in the face of adversity.I occasionally find good deals, but like any thrift store its hit or miss. The staff is great. Friendly and professional.
Not the best goodwill Ive been to. Sizes are not in any order. Need to look at every pair of pants to find sizes. Seems more pricey to 10 dollars for a pair of jeans 5 more can buy new..
This location does honor Veterans at all. No discount, no nothing. I think this is disrespectful especially in a town like ANNAPOLIS. Also, This is most expensive Goodwill in Maryland. Elevated prices just to take advantage of people of AA county. There are items there priced as much as Marshalls and TJ MAXX. Used vs NEW..When I go there I just think of what a disservice to community and I give this Goodwill a new name. BADWILL.
This is one of the better Goodwills out there! Every time my partner and i come to Annapolis, we make sure to stop by. Clothing section is good, but where this Goodwill really shines is in the home goods department. I have acquired a large number of quirky/cool things from this shop.
I have only popped in once and was able to find some gems here. I picked up a Brooks Brothers button up, a small Wilson leather purse, Cole Han chelsea boots, and two skirts for $29. With a little cleaning, fixing a button and a $20 repair to the purse it was quite a good visit for me. This is one of the better Goodwill stores I have been to and one of the better organized ones. Like many, it can be a bit dusty and dingy, not to mention a lot of damaged items. If you have a good eye and the ability to follow through with repairs, then you might find something that suites you. I would say this location has a better than average chance at some higher end items, but they may need some love.
There is always something to find here. It is like a treasure hunt. Of course you need to separate the not-so-great stuff from the really cool. It is amazing what people donate to Goodwill Industries.
Organized, clean...Ms Gladys is the best!!
People that work there are great !!!! But prices have gone up so much they are more expensive than the local consignment shop. An Interior design firm just donated all the stuff they could not sell at their warehouse sale which I attended and Goodwill is selling them for 4 times what the warehouse sale prices are. There are no good deals left at good will. Time to find a new thrift store that is actually thrifty. You can not sell framed art at good will for $60 and $45. Crazy
I almost rated at a one, but then I thought well they did have some nice items. The issue is, they arent at thrift store prices. This isnt just this goodwill, its most of the Goodwill stores Ive been to on the shore in Annapolis and in the suburbs of Baltimore. They price as high as eBay if not more. Sorry but Id rather stick with shopping at home and delivery service plus good customer return policies, than in a thrift store that jacks up prices for profit. This IS an area problem, and I know of plenty of Goodwill stores in other areas that are way better. Even with designer items and antiques. Ive thrift store shopped in 6 different states on a regular basis(I have to travel a lot) this area is straight greedy. Yes things are more expensive in different areas, but even the NYC actual thrift stores not vintage or consignment stores, are more reasonable.
Great deals
I found some good deals today. Girls tights for 75 cents, a singing dog for $2, a lovely umbrella stand for $2 and a few other knickknacks for under a dollar. There were some things way over priced. They really do need a system for pricing. It seems to depend on who is the pricer on a given day. Still disappointed that GW stopped honoring vets with daily 30% discounts.
You never know what you will find one trip to next. Older designer items marked high now for thrift store. Accommodating mgrs, staff.
I thought your prices were high for used clothing but i did purchase a wool coat for 12.99.i shopped near closing time and The employees were kind and the cashier was exstremely patient friendly and polite .
Everytime I go to take my clothes for donation, there is no one there available to accept them even though the store is open. For example, I’m here on a Saturday at 5:30 and no one is here. I’m looking for another clothing drive to donate my clothes. Some of my items have tags on it. It’s just that they don’t fit me. Anyone know where I can take this? I’m tired of lugging this stuff around in my trunk waiting around for Goodwill to accept donations. Like literally I have come on saturdays and sundays and no one is here
Large store but selections were rather limited. Bought a sweater for my husbands Halloween costume off the rack that said $4.95. The sales clerk rung it up as a ladies sweater and charged me $10 for it (I bought several items so didnt notice until she gave me the itemized receipt afterwards). I pointed out to her that it came from the mens department and she said it didnt matter because they are all the same price. I then pointed to the signs in both the men and womens areas that said in large words Sweaters $4.95 and asked why this was $10. She simply shrugged her shoulders and moved on to the next customer.
They took a lot of my donations. But check carefully before you go, as there are some things they wont accept. I rented a UHaul to bring stuff there, then ended up having to go to he dump because they wouldnt take some of the items (partical board). Also got pointed this way and that for where I should park the truck for the donations I was making. Wasnt too thrilled about having to navigate around their parking lot in a UHaul.
I love sharing and being able to find eclectic cloths, home furishings and house wares in great shapeA lot of their glass ware is usually Lead Crystal, I just spent $6.00 on an 8pc set of pint and a half beer glasses. Took to an antique review an found out that the glasses where worth $400 German made Steins!
A fun place. Great selection. Interesting finds can be had!
They have lots of good stuff. You never know what you will find.
Some things are so over priced but others are a steal, check in the box if you buy something and make sure it has all of its components. They offer returns on electronics of they do not work, but not on anything else
Tons of variety. I dont even like shopping and I spent two hours in here. Good staff. Something for everyone.
This Goodwill is not so Good. Way overpriced. Glassware is outrageous. Glass bottle new at Home Goods $7.99 same bottle at Goodwill $12 Come On... who is doing the pricing for this store. Clothing is priced with black permanent marker on the labels instead of a price tag. Sometimes over the size or cleaning directions. The marker seeps through to the actual material ruining the item. Not worth your time unless it is a 50% off day.
Smaller than the goodwills Im used to. Not the best selection, mostly old clothes and dishes. Some good books.
Its a shame. I like to purchase things at places where money goes to a cause but whoever does the houseware pricing is overpricing. I wanted to purchase glass plates. I have found some at other places usually between $2-$6 for a stack of 4-8 plates. Goodwill wanted $4 a piece!
Found some nice Athletic shorts For a great find
The staff here are pretty friendly… and the store is generally clean… As far as Goodwills go anyway. The problem here is that I think they have forgotten they are thrift store. $15 for a used pair of jeans is ridiculous I don’t care what brand it is. Especially considering the store doesn’t have any restroom facilities. They charge like they are a Kohls or something. If someone’s been walking around and farting in a pair of jeans... they shouldn’t cost more than four or five dollars.
Staff was polite, courteous and very helpful and professional. Great finds and prices.
This is a great Goodwill. Large, excellent selection. If you are a thrifter, give it a shot.
Great place to shop for everything and anything! Well organized, fantastic prices and wonderful employees!
I like Goodwill, this was somewhat poorly stocked when I visited, but still a good place to stock up on dishes for budget conscious college students.
I like to shop here but sometime the prices is higher then going to from Wal-Mart u may find good deals on there 50% off days
This is a decent place to find clothing. There are many things to choose from books, clothes, and even jewelry to name a few.
I dont think its appropriate for a charitable thrift store like Goodwill to mark up items at random. This was widespread at this location. I wont allow my experience here to tarnish my opinion of Goodwill - mostly because this is the only location Ive ever noticed it to such an obvious extent. Why attach a price tag with a 20 (for 20 dollars) to clothing mixed in with the rest of reasonable $7 dollar dresses? I noticed a Baraschi dress for regular price. Surely the person hiking up the prices just didnt recognize this as an expensive brand. But since they HAVE heard of Banana Republic, its okay for them to staple a tacky purple tag with 15 written on it. It honestly should be brought to Goodwills attention that this store is practicing such greedy tactics.
Not very well kept, needs a good cleaning
Good old-goodwill. Ive purchased a few records and clothes here, you cant argue with the prices.
I like to support community businesses but really... $20 for used shoes? It doesnt feel right...
It was okay, clean.
It needs bigger clothes that can fit the bigger men and women. I went in to find pants that would fit me and came out with 2 shirts that I know would fit me but no pants.
Please, I beg of you;. post my Photo of my Goodwill Barstool together with the Map of this Stores location with My Review. Thanks.Goodwill, downtown Annapolis, is served by a few young Staff Members, blessed with energy, dignity, respect and an obvious love for their work. Ive visited this store three times. The first visit was exploratory, as I searched for Childrens Books and pleasant, warm, Family Movies as well as crockery; a strange combination, I must admit. Subsequent visits with a friend, focussed on finding Walkers and Wheelchairs for the Needy and general household items for Shut-ins. To my surprise I unexpectedly landed barstools for which Id been searching, in excess of five years; and at very welcoming prices! Not only were we both happy that we found what we wanted: but moreso with the help given us, to fit our purchases into the vehicle. In recent times, this store has been beautifully reorganized, and now boasts an excellent display area with a Customer Service Counter that is equally accommodating. Ive learned ONE very important LESSON from my visits to this store. This is, that the folks who give to This Specific Goodwill Store are passing on, through their donations, their Good Will. This Good Will is in turn, passed on to the Staff here; and they in turn, wittingly or unwittingly, pass this on to their Customers and ultimate Beneficiaries. Goodwill, A Visionary Nomenclature!
Hey do you like lofi? peep my Soundcloud: soundcloud. com/ sleepy-thoughts
Unfortunately, the website says that they are open for donations until 8 pm, but they stop taking donations at 5 pm. Wish theyd fix the website, or not act like jerks when informed of the issue.
Great place to find a good deal on clothes for your teenager.
Very clean store and staff has always been pleasent.
Convenient parking to take a call while driving into historic Annapolis.
It has good products you can find here
Fast
I get the best stuff here! I moved out of state but still stop in when Im in the area.
The employees were very helpful.
One of two best stored I like to shop
Love finding great deals at my local Goodwill.
Lots to look through and friendly staff
The staff are friendly and like any other thrift the selection can range from hit r miss. However, I have found great items here in great condition!
Horrible. I went to drop stuff during business hours...the guy working there acted like I was ruining his day dropping off 4 bags of mixture clothes toys and dishes
Good selection. Large store. Friendly staff
Good variety, some surprises and some real gems.
You would think that when you are donating items the staff would be polite... this however is not the case at this goodwill
Get great deal and awesome discounts everyday.
Frequent 2nd hand shopper worst stores ive ever run into are maryland Goodwill. One up in millersville is barely ok-ish. Could take a lesson from SAVERS. Annapolis Goodwill is a junk heap. Worst ever, and Ive been to just about all of em. Goodwill is on a quick slide. Anyone want a used up second hand store chain? Goodwill, what happened to you? As far as rude staff.
I have donated to the store on West Street before during their regular hours, but heaven forbid that you drop off items a few minutes before the donation center opens. The staff member working the donation center was rude and unprofessional in how he reminded me that I couldnt drop anything off before they open. He might have been having a bad day but that is no excuse to be unprofessional about it. I will be donating my goods elsewhere from now on.
Okay selection, but really rude employees ): they’re always really snappy when you ask questions and ring up discounted items incorrectly
Pricing is ridiculous for a so called thrift store. Goodwill has become a joke!
I used to call it the Gucci goodwill but since the Edgewater store opened their inventory is split between the two. The staff is ok. Hit or miss whether they will help with lifting purchases. The lady manager is not a huge fan of other ethnicities.
