Was looking for particular wood species for a custom job. The front end person was kind, knowledgeable, and helped me find what I needed quickly. The warehouse employee was less than cordial. When asked about a particular wood selection he cut me off mid sentence and said dude, Im trying to get ahead of the rain. I bought only what I absolutely needed and left.This place is great so long as you know what youre looking for and dont ask too many questions.

Excellent selection of all kinds of lumber. Friendly people and good prices. As with any lumber yard, sometimes you have to be patient and dig for just the right board for your project but its worth the effort. Its a 30 mile drive for me but I cant get better lumber anywhere closer, and its a pleasure shopping here.

Great selection but that doesnt necessarily mean quality. Bought a slab to make some shelves. On first cut half the slab cracked and wasnt usable. Used the other half to try and salvage something out of it and during my finishing sand *POP* the finished shelf cracked as well.

Looking to make a slab table from exotic or highly figured wood 48-60” long and 2-3 inches thick, what options can you suggest for a member of the turning clubs???

Never go without calling first to see if they have what you want in stock. The last two times I went their website showed what I wanted, only to drive there to be told they were out. Not like I wanted something exotic. Locust, a very common Maryland wood.

Never got to order anything. The person on the phone was insistent in proving his superior knowledge ( no argument here, I’m not a wood worker) and corrected everything, EVERYTHING, I said. Conversation stopped when he explained we are in America so I shouldn’t use metric measurements. I don’t need to be belittled when trying to place a several hundred dollar order.

Last time here I bought 1 x 1 x 18 sticks of Ebony and they charged for me for 1.5 x 1.5 x 18 when calculating the board feet. When I went back later to question it, they explained it away as milling. So wood that is $130/bf they are throwing away 1/4 on all sides? I feel i was overcharged and taken advantage of.

I needed to replace bulkheads in my 1972 Catalina Sloop and wanted as close to original teak as possible. This place is wonderful! You walk thru a warehouse filled with shelves of exotic lumber. I easily found the perfect pieces, cut and sanded them to size and still have some great teak board to make some accessories. Good Service good prices, nice selection.Dennis O, Frederick, MD

The wood selection is truly outstanding. You won’t find this variety of species anywhere else in the area. During the week help is generally available. Saturdays not as much. Prices are fair, w lots of milled off-cuts at bargain prices. Open air facility for all the woods. The office section is enclosed within the same building w climate control.
