Wonderful allies, friendly staff with COMMON SENSE and assertive personalities that get the work done, and make sure we all stay safe and mask up. If you dont like that, then, I guess youll miss out on super friendly staff and amazing spices! Hands down trust them because of how WELL they keep to their rules and are excellent employers to my wife. She has been having a WONDERFUL time at work ever since going to penzys

If I could give 0 stars I would. Had an order to pick up for a friend so I thought I’d check it out while I was there. I didn’t have a mask on and the moment I walked in I was met with judge mental eyes, no hello or greeting, and when I said “I’m just here for a pick up” the lady at the counter didn’t even look up, just mumbled “right next to you” with a condescending tone. I took the order. I really wanted to look around and have no problems wearing a mask if it makes someone feel more comfortable so I put one on and went back in. I was not asked if I needed help or offered any friendly conversation…just glared at from behind the counter like was was worse than gum on the bottom of her shoe. I finally felt so uncomfortable I left. I work in retail customer service and would never treat my customers this way. I would have loved to have spent quite a bit of money there as I love spices and would have done so if not for the horrendous treatment. Will never go back.

So annoyed right now at Penzeys way of handling covid. Other retailers are finding ways to deal with the virus that dont alienate customers. Just ordered pickup and it wasnt until I completed the transaction that it told me I might not be able to pick up for 24 hrs. Im done with penzeys after this pickup. If I didt care when I got it I would have it delivered.

Love their sense of humor. Curbside pick up bag had a little badge of hug. Opened the card and said Made in China. Yes, indeed, this situation of curbside pick up was made in China! Love their ability to stay upbeat in these unprecedented times!

Best place for a wide variety of fresh spices

I ordered by phone from the parking lot. I expected at least an hour wait for return call. I was surprised to get a call in 10 minutes. Very pleasant and efficient people.

Terrible! Online they said the Appleton, Wi store was open....went there and it was curbside. No worries we bought everything we needed on Amazon we will never go to Penzey again!!!!!

Its so comfy! Its like walking into a big pot of fresh mashed potatoes with butter & chives. The people are so friendly & actually know what they are talking about plus everyone treats you like a friend🌷. I REALLY like this store! Add to it the delicious spices, common & uncommon, in various sizes & prices.... This place has become a favorite place for me to visit.

Penzeys makes the best spices around. I use them to make my hot chocolate and coffee tastier, to make my pizza extra delicious, and to bring out the best flavors in curry and other sauces. I love this store. They have a large selection of spices and spice blends. Their hot cocoa is amazing. Spices here are always fresh and the company is regularly creating new blends. Staff is friendly and not too pushy. They are able to suggest different options when I know a recipe needs something.As an aside in an effort to provide an honest review of this location, the staff here is super friendly regardless of your political views. They never even ask your political views. Im an independent and Ive gone into the store with my die hard Republican roommate and neither of us were denied service. Yes the owner does air his view points publicly, however, by not shopping a business because the owner has different views than your own remember more than doing a disservice to the business that you are doing a disservice to the employees who work there and have nothing to do with what owner says or does.

There was an employee who was very helpful, but another woman with short dark hair told him he wasnt supposed to help me understand what was in the spice blend I was looking for. She prevented me from purchasing more spices to create the blend. Not good customer service.

Always a great selection of spices you cant find at a standard grocery store. Friendly people who will help if you need but will give you space to browse. Wide range of spicy peppers to make your own pepper blends.

This is an excellent store with a great selection. They are almost always busy but the employees were quickly to check people out. There are frequently coupons and specials that get discounts or free products. They have a wide variety of sizes that range from a small jar to larger bags. The prices are fair for what they are. The majority of the products are filled with clean ingredients, typically just spices in the majority of cases.

Love their spices! I was a customer for many years. Cant stand all the politics in their emails. Had to unsubscribe. They will be hard to replace.

Its a nice store. Its clean and everything is organized in an easy to find manner. Prices are going to be a higher than in the supermarket - but thats really to be expected. I like to use the Arizona Dreaming blend on burgers.

Penzeys has a wide variety of excellent quality, fresh spices and herbs at reasonable prices. They have a very friendly and helpful staff. The store is very attractive with items sorted and well displayed for ease in locating. The ONLY place I purchase my spices.

Overpriced compared to similar stores. Just happened to be in the neighborhood when the need for a certain spice arose. The boss might consider keeping his ill-advised and uninformed political opinions to himself. Unless of course he is actually a socialist.

The spice selection is fantastic and the staff is too notch. The problem lies with the owner and his spouting off about his politics. If you dont agree with him (HARD left) then he considers you to be human debris.

Went into the Appleton WI location. Ive made purchases from this particular store in the past and have had good experiences. But I recently paid a visit and unfortunately I cannot not say the same this time. No greeting or acknowledgement from any employee upon entering the store (there were at least two employees standing at the checkout counter). I was not asked if I needed any help or assistance the entire time I was in the store. I buy certain spice blends I cant find anywhere else and they do have quality products, but they are more expensive than I really care to pay. Not a good experience and Im not sure I will buy from them in the future. Penzeys please step up your game when it comes to customer service.

I am in the Lifestyles program through Thedacare and have told many about Penzys and your wonderful spices. Many are now on your mailing list and getting their spices from you! I love Penzys but difficult to get out of work and make it to the store by 5:30. I live in Green Bay so dont want to make another 75 mile round trip on the weekend. PLEASE consider keeping the store open late one night a week!

It is fine to have political views; however, your place of business should not be your forum for sharing them. You have lost my business. I dont enjoy having to read political statements on your sites, when all I want to do is buy some double strength vanilla. Btw, Beanilla DS madascagar vanilla extract has a nice smooth finish and is less spendy. Their website offers free shipping too....And they dont make you feel bad for being a Republican...Or a Democrat.
