Lots of good book choices here, which is maybe not surprising. We were looking for Moleskine planners on our recent visit, and found multiple choices here. Picked the ones we wanted and were on our way - thank you Northtown Books!

Love this bookstore. Love being able to sit and read the first several pages of a stack of books and pick what I want, leave what I dont. They will order it if they dont have it, and books come fast this way. Helpful, friendly staff. Great rewards program.

A very nicely curated, and welcoming, independent bookstore. A wide range of topics, with the best periodical section for hundreds of miles. They hold monthly authors readings/discussions, and childrens book readings. If a book isnt in stock, it can be ordered and almost always arrives within 1-3 days (depending on the day of the week it is ordered). Ask about their frequent readers program, and dont forget to grab a free bookmark! Oh, and the music they play in the store is always interesting.

This little bookstore is phenomenal. I passed through Arcata while hitchhiking and was very taken with how expansive their variety/selection was, specifically in the Poli-sci section; lots of radical material. It boasts more than the same usual assortment of AK Press books you’d find at other small bookstores. I ended up adding 15lbs of books to my pack before leaving Arcata.

Huge selection of books! I have spent a lot of time here just checking out all the sections. They are pretty good at buying books too if you have any.
