I had a awful experience in Palatine(IL) store on 10/27/2021.I needed to split what I bought to 2 transactions. I politely explain it to the cashier.I had a coupon $10 if your total amount is $50 or more. In my first transaction I didnt have any clearances or doorbuster items. Suddenly Ive been told that I cant use tge coupon even the whole amount was $54. I tried to ask why us tgat. The explanation was that I have some items on sale. When I said that this coupon valid for items on sale also, and exclude only clearance and doorbuster. And if the produst is on clearance it doesnt mean its doorbuster. The cashier didnt understand my explanation. She didnt know the details of their coupons at all. And she was the only cashier in the store. I felt awful at this time, infront all the people in the line. The cashier even didnt bother to call for tge help. I called to the supervisor and it was the samecstory, they didn know tgeir system and they didnt know all the coupon details. No bother to understand the costumer or be at least polite. Its never happened to me before.
This is solely based on a male’s perspective that has never really been here before. Can I ask? Why is it that you cutting service had only one person cutting fabric? This was insane. All my girlfriend needed was one piece of fabric cut and before her were women with 4-10 things that needed to be cut…and you only had one women that was as slow as molasses cutting fabric. You should really have more than one person in this department working as I could tell there was frustration building while I waited. Arlene! Yes, you cut fabric nicely, but you DO NOT have to cut fabric and then fold it as if you are going to ship it to the Vatican. It’s fabric! Cut the fabric and move to the next item.

Always can find so many things that Im looking for with different options. And find some things that are just interesting that I buy to add fresh accents to my home. My go-to crafting place and I do lots of different crafts and I always find what I need.
Absolutely horrible service. Line is to the middle of the store. Associate right at the door is extremly rude. She rolled her eyes when i asked where to go for returns and gave a attitude. I will not be back.

This store is a Superstore which is really very big. One of the sad things is that some employees are not so nice, they could be new because some take long time to do check out. They sometimes look like in a bad mood because of the amount of work they have. A lot of clearance items but is being over a year and they still have some of the same items and they dont go down with the price, or some of the clearance price is just like $1 off the original price. A lot of the fabric they have are beautiful, they have a huge selection which I love! I really think the store is awesome but they might need more people working there. This is my view, Im sure the employees have their own different view of the situation there.
I try to avoid this store at all costs. The lines are always ridiculously long. The employees arent just not very helpful, but often rude. In addition to all that, their prices are astronomical. They are the highest priced craft store around, and they sell the same exact merchandise as the other stores.
Framing Services: Had them frame one of those scratch off world maps and the quality of work and attention to detail is deplorable. For over $250 (after 50%+ discount), we got back a scratched up map (see picture of Africa as example), bowed backboard, and gaps in the matting (see picture of gap along top). I was suspicious of their quality but given the friendly and helpful staff, and hefty price tag, I figured theyd produce quality work. I was wrong, and will never use them again for framing and would not recommend them to anyone looking for showpiece quality in their homes.
Not enough help at checkout. A lot of employees on the floor, but only 1 checkout open with 4 people in line. Years ago at K Mart we had a saying 4 or more in line call for more help Those were the good old days.

EXCELLENT Joann!!! They have a wonderful faux floral department, and one of the BEST fabric selections in the area. Quilting cotton? Yes. Leather? They’ve got it. Cricut selection is smaller, but the fabric selection is unparalleled next to a warehouse.

During covid the staff is maintaining all regulations. Store is well stocked. Enough spacing in aisle. The stock is very good compared to neighbouring stores.

Wow!! Such a huge store compared to what we have at home. Amazing selection of blizzard fleece for blankets, flannel for baby projects. Fall decor is out, no Christmas yet. Happened to have a clearance sale with additional markdown, paid about 12 cents per sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper.
Usually I love this place but I have to say I will not go to this location again. I had gone for fabric for a blanket and I left with $192.20 coming out of my bank account. The fabric I had bought was $38.44, that was it. When we got to the checkout I had swiped my card, it said approved on the card machine, on the computer it said my card did not go through. I was asked to swipe my card THREE more times on this register, all saying it was approved on the card machine, and all saying it did not go through on their computer. I, even, told the cashier that it had said my card was approved on the card machine but she still said I had to swipe again. My brother was then asked to swipe his card and again it said approved on the card machine and it did not go through on the computer. After moving to another register and swiping my card one more time, it went through and I left not knowing I was going to get charged FIVE times. (1 for the actual purchase and four extra). That was on black friday. Two days later I called and had to come in and explain to them what had happened. When we went it, I showed the one receipt I had and the five transactions on my phone clearly stating they are from this store. The manager said he would look over their transactions for that time. We contacted the store three times about this within four days. He got back with us, the first time, and told us that the transaction only came up once and he said that he talked TO CORPORATE of the store and could not do anything. Then called back a day later, on December 3, saying that the stores transactions says only one went through. Duh! It only regsitered on the computer once but on the card machines, it said clearly my card was approved five times. They also said I had to go to my bank to dispute because they couldnt do anything about it. I finally got my money back December 16th. 19 days later. Seriously?!? If I told you clearly that the card machine said my card was approved, why couldnt the store give me my money back after getting charged FIVE TIMES??
Had to get a specific fabric I was looking for. When I couldnt find it myself, I asked for help and the staff person pointed to extractly where I needed to look. Found what I wanted, on sale, and was done in a few mins.

While they are offering curbside pickup its very overwhelming for them because theyre very busy inside and now someone has to leave and go outside but I appreciate them doing it and I did go yesterday and actually go in the store and the clerk was very nice and did all my coupons and save me money so I appreciate that
Totally nonsense. They give a price online and then when I arrived they said... the sewing machines is sold by a another company who have higher prices. Although it’s showing buy online and pickup in store.One more reason to shop on Amazon and avoid retail shops that lies about their offer and prices.

Sales floor staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The issue was during checkout. only on person working the registers. I was the first one inline. Prior person had a return. It took over 15 minutes for them to check me out. TOTALLY mismanaged!!

Have placed multiple curbside orders and had nothing but issues. When Covid 19 first started there was no one that answers the phone number that you were instructed to call when you were waiting for your pickup. It was a major inconvenience since there was no real way to get the orders and stores were closed since the the stay at home order was in place. Recently placed an order for curbside pickup and have attempted to curbside pick up the order 3 days in a row. When we call the number the same thing happens. Press 0 and it says the operator is not available exiting the system goodbye. There is a huge banner above the door that says this is the number to call. There is no extension or any direction as to what to press and when you wait to be transferred or press 0 you get hung up on. What is the point of having curbside pickup if there is no way to get the pickup? We can see your employees looking out the window directly at our car as we sit for 30 min waiting to see if an employee will come out. Read others complaints and when they go in the store the person tells them their phone system has been down for 5 days.Actually your phone system has been down since Covid 19 started back in March. It is absurd that this hasnt been fixed since then and none of your employees have bothered to address this matter. If they dont want to bring the stuff out to your patrons then they shouldnt offer curbside and have a big banner flying with the phone number on it. If the phone number doesnt work then put a alternative number like the day managers cell phone number down until it gets fixed. Or have someone be lookout through the window or near the door for each car that pulls up. A good portion of your customers are elderly, immune compromised, high risk, in which curbside pickup determines where they shop. Today is the last day for my pickup since you allow only 3 days before cancelling and I have no idea what to do since there is no way to get a hold of anyone. Your company is the only one that I have experience having issues with getting curbside orders. If this continues you may lose more customers.Understand things were chaotic in the beginning, but now that the dust has settled, all the bugs should be addressed and fixed.
Shelia, the manager at this location, is by far the most patient and kind person. She was extremely helpful with our pick up order and even went out of her way to help us. Thank you again!

This store has a huge selection for all your crafting needs, can be a bit overwhelming at times. Some clutter out front as you walk in, but the interior is clean and organized. Lots of options for kids as well. Friendly and helpful staff. Register broke as we were checking out, cashier had to take us to another. Not a frequent occurrence though
Dont bother with online orders unless you want to wait... Oh, I was also told we have like 3 people here, I dont know what you want lady. I, personally, didnt appreciate the experience.

Went for the sale item of fabric. They had so many choices and colors. It was hard to decide. The store was very crowded with shoppers, staff was patient and helpful. What a great store. They have everything right in one store. Could of spent hours looking. Checkout was quick and helpful.
This location had the exact fabric I was looking for at a great price.The line at the cutting station was long, but they called extra help and I didnt have to wait too long for service. The check out queue was also long, but there were enough cashiers that it moved quickly.

Called them multiple times after 10 am on a Friday. Nobody answers the phone. It rings for a couple minutes then says nobody is available, exiting the system then it hangs up. Ok local store I guess Ill order from Amazon.

This is a great place to find all the things you need to create something beautiful. And they have wonderful coupons to help you save money while you add two your collection of beautiful things youve created. They have a knowledgeable staff answers your questions.
Incredible store- or technically, a Superstore, as the entrance says. Ill admit I rarely do complex sewing projects, so I cant speak for their knowledge in that department. But I have come to this store with countless other projects and have always been treated like a visiting patron, as opposed to just a customer.The staff have always put up with my unusual art questions with genuine (or at least very well faked!) interest and sometimes excellent suggestions.One day I needed a large amount of furniture foam and fabric, and a young gentleman staffer saw me struggling to get the giant cushions on the top shelf (its a huge store, so height is an issue). Instead of finding a cart, he took the items himself and offered to help me find everything on my list. I doubt that such service is available on busier days, but Ive still always enjoyed their extraordinary customer service.The store is very clean, and theres pretty much always something on sale. Their selection is surprisingly varied for what is generally synonymous with fabric only. Theres a nice floral and a large framing department; their home decor and seasonal items are usually very attractive and reasonably priced; and they have a magnificent collection of wood items, paints, fabric patches/jewels, ribbons, and jewelry/beads/gems/paper. They also have a good sized clearance aisle; however the items there are rather mixed as many of the best deals (like jewelry beads) are just located in their appropriate section.The only downside is the store is ridiculously huge- it takes a while to figure the layout of the place, and if a salesperson cant actually take you an item and just points, ten to one youll have trouble finding it.But still, its a great store, and its amazing to get lost in- or, if you want to be in and out in less than two hours, you can view their online store and compare before heading here. 5/5

In the department where the New Years decorations are out of order, everything is scattered and I did not like it.
Store is too small for the amount of merchandise they carry (which is large) resulting in a very messy store. Finding a particular fabric can be challenging to say the least and check out lines can be long. Associates are generally helpful but managers not so much and have at times been rude. Pretty much the only game in town, Palatine-Arlington Hts area though.
I enjoy visiting various stores in Wisconsin and Illinois. But the store closest to Wheeling, Illinois is laid out oddly, because of the space. Wish they would go to a different space or location. Love their merchandise.
Unbelievable place the order. You get an email saying its ready to be picked up. Drive to the store 17 miles away as the person is taking my name. I get an email saying two of the items have been cancelled and are no longer available which are the two most important items out of the 4 i ordered. No direction on which store has these now. Sent an email reply back no response. They have now wasted my time, my gas, and now my wife gets to open half of her gift on saturday which is unbelievable. Dont care how good the promos are i will find the missing cricut press and cutting tool set and never shop with joanns as a company again.

Awesome place for the craft lovers. They have plenty of DIY ideas, and stitching classes available. Faux flower collection is really nice. Bit pricey compared to their competitors.

Always a great selection of fabrics and loads of fleece. Awesome sales any time you come in and lets not forget the online coupons you can use at the register. Could be a bit under staffed, when you need a bit more floor help, looking for stuff, but I can deal with that in lieu of lower prices.
The ladies at JoAnn are always very nice and eager to make conversation. Though, as a 63 man with a full beard and construction clothes I think they may just be surprised to see me shopping for crafts supplies and knick knacks. Novelty or not, I enjoy shopping here.
We came to pick up an order and we received an email earlier before we came to pick the item that it was ready for pick up. We come to pick it up and they can’t find the order we are sitting in the car for about 30 minutes. About 7 other people come to pick up their orders, they got their orders right away. The lady who was try to help us came back about 5 times to read the email and said “let me go check again.” After half an hour the lady said “I will just go to the shelf to pick up a new one for you.” They couldn’t even find the order form for my item.
Workers there are mostly nice to help find things and explain about products unless theyre too busy. I took the one to one sewing class, and the instructor was very pleasant working with. I plan to take another group classes.
Not the friendliest of people. Checked the price online- regular price. Checked the price in-store- no sale signs for my product. Tried to use my 60% coupon at checkout and it was on sale for only 15% off. They also removed all the price check scanners, could have saved everybodys time.

Worst service imaginable. This store is convienent and has good coupons. However the service is terrible. There will be 3 women behind the cutting counter and only 1 is cutting the other 2 are on the computer and on the phone. The lines are long and there never seem to be enough people to cut and ring up. Not to mention the employees seem to be very unhappy people. I really wish they would try to train their employees more on customer service.

O.M.G. the BEST Joann Ive ever been in. HUGE selection. I mean. HUGE!!! AMAZING!! I cant even put into words how great this Joann is!!
The store itself offers wonderful coupons and has great items to choose from. The only problem Ive had is the one time I went in with a group of friends and one began to bounce a ball. An associate told her to stop, so she did stop. Throughout the course of our time there, the associate was following us and when we made eye contact with her, she threatened to kick us out if she saw the ball bounce again (even though we had longed stopped).
They have a great selection, their prices are fair, but they often seem understaffed. The poor staffers try very hard to run the place, and seem knowledgeable, but often struggle to keep up when there are more than a few customers in the store. If you know what youre looking for, Jo-Ann is a good place to find it. If you need help with a project, you might be better off going to a smaller craft store that has more hands-on service.
Most of the people who work in this store are helpful and often make suggestions to ensure a successful project.

I had a wonderful experience working with Kathy on how to choose and purchase a sewing machine. I didnt know at this location free sewing classes are offered when you make a sewing machine purchase. I am looking forward to the classes!

I like this location it is very convenience especially when my children have some school project. I gave only one star for two reasons first if you would like to find something its hard to find someone to help you and 2nd God forbid that you talk over the phone theres one lady at the register that shes so rude that is insane. Long story short I have unfortunately talk over the phone while she was doing her job with my items that I have purchased and Lady looking at me and she said that this is pretty disgusting and very rude for me to talk to someone over the phone while she was working on the register. Gosh I am businessmen and unfortunately this is my bread and bother but I was very nice and polite I said to the person that called me give me 2 minutes and Ill call you back but the lady got out of work thats crazy
I asked for help to find fusible heat bond but the worker could not find it for me. I eventually found it myself.There was a line of at least six people trying to get fabric cut and only two employees were cutting. Yet there were three or four other employees available. Therefore we each waited in line at least 15 minutes.When I eventually was helped, though the employee was very nice, she had to re-enter into her handheld computer my order about four times before it would work.Needless to say I was frustrated!
They had a lot of craft that is useful for decoration. Staffs were helpful and interactive.

Tried to go in to look for a sewing machine and the woman couldnt have been ruder. very unfriendly when trying to learn more about the products they (maybe) sold since she did say not all of them are available for sale and some sewing machines only seniors could purchase....interesting. also high prices for what I was looking for. found the exact same sewing machine at Wal-Mart for $30 cheaper and I was allowed to purchase it as a non senior citizen. the location is good and they most likely have what you are looking for in terms of craft supplies but I deducted one star for the repeated bad/nonexistent customer service and another star for the prices.
Had sale items I wanted. Only 2 cashiers at 6:00 pm. They were efficient, but needed at least 4 at busy time.
So very lucky to have this store close by. Fabric selections and other crafty products are great. Never leave home without my coupons. Fun store.

This is one of the larger Joann Fabrics around with a wide variety of items for the craftiest of projects. Its very spacious, clean, and for the most part easy to find what youre looking for.
Giving this store 2⭐ because whomever was teaching the sewing class around 11am in the back room by the yarn was loud as heck. She was rude and unprofessional to the students. You could hear her 3-4 aisles away. Hard to enjoy shopping for yarn when someone is over the top loud.Otherwise good location, lots of parking.

Needed a sewing foot and they only have an elite brand. Tried to look at them and the lady yelled at me and said that area was closed. I apologized and she basically hurried me along... she was so rude. I felt bad for even trying to shop there. I miss the old format for joanns where you could look at sewing machines and buy parts without feeling like a dirty peasant.

The one time I came here with some friends was the worst. One of my friends passed by the toys section and was tempeted enough to bounce a ball lightly. She got caught by this chubby white woman with brown hair in a bun (employee) and she told my friend If you bounce that ball one more time, I will escort you out of this store. We stayed silent for the rest of the visit and when we were on our way out of the store, that same lady was following us four on our way out. She yet again said to my friend and us that we will be escorted if another ball is bounced. None of us bounced another ball after the first warning. That made us to never go back there again.
