We ordered bride and groom themed chocolate covered strawberries for our wedding reception, and they turned out absolutely stunning. All of our guests enjoyed them and they were a perfect little dessert - something unique instead of a traditional wedding cake. Shelby, Lynn, Sadie and Camilla were all easy to work with and we were provided with exceptional customer service. I would highly recommend supporting this wonderful small business.
We had our ceremony cake included in our elopement package with custom weddings of Colorado! It was absolutely amazing! the most delicious fun and beautiful cakes, I say fun because we had specifically asked for a cake that had blue colouring on the inside, we were warned about the colouring of teeth and tongues and went with it anyway! lol it actually did neither of those things but it did make for GORGEOUS photos!I know they were hesitant in completing that request but honestly we are so thankful they did! Thank you for the delicious dessert and memorable moment!
Stopped here for a quick treat after a Target run. Shared an almond croissant, cheese danish and chocolate eclair with my husband. All three items were delicious! If you like overly sweet, sticky danish, this is not what you are looking for. The cheese danish was delicately flavored and enjoyable if you (like me) prefer your pastries less sweet. The croissant was light, buttery and so wonderfully flakey! I only wish it had contained more almond filling. The eclair was perfect. The chocolate filling was my favorite part but the choux pastry was also amazing.
(from a Chef of 43 years) Just plain old EPIC !!! I wanted something a little different than a birthday cake for my 53rd... so my wife proclaims were going to the French bakery.Weve been before, and Ive RAVED before. I dont care.Must Gets:- Napoleon ... one of our favorites and they do it RIGHT!!!- Macaroons (any flavor)- Eclairs (duh?) We had the Amaretto. Fan Tas Tic!!!- Fruit Tart... classic every time- Lemon Raspberry Tea Cake... As a fellow Chef who understands the relationship between the two flavors... Well Played.Thank you La Patisserie Francaisefor a Wonderful Birthday Memory! ! !Chef David EdelsteinSizzlin Skillet ProductionsOlde Town Arvada, CO 80002
Thank you so much for accommodating my friends egg allergy for their sweet little boys second birthday! His birthday cake was amazing!
They did our wedding cake for a small family elopement! It was beautiful and perfect. All our guests loves the cake. It wasn’t too rich, but still very flavorful. Also the texture was our guests favorite light and fluffy!
We got an assortment of all the macarons available, because I eat them whenever seen, some frosted cookies, and a lemon tart. The lemon tart was amazing. Best Ive ever had. Cookies were adorable and tasty! My kids actually ate them, they dont always. Crisp and sweet. The macarons had lovely flavors. The flavors themselves were strong and great. The shells of the macarons were such a disappointment. Hollow and very crunchy.Very kind staff, super helpful.
It pains me to post less than a 5-star review for this bakery I’ve loved and patronized for a decade, but the selection and service of late does not reflect times past.I travelled a good distance for petit fours today to view one 6x8” plate half of what would never pass as petit fours in any French bakery. What a shame. Half of what was on that plate could never pass as petit fours. I was so disappointed. I asked if there were other petit fours not yet on display; apparently not. And apparently clueless counter help. So disappointed at service and selection, I won’t do this trip again.
Agree with others that customer service is VERY SLOW. Only 3 people in store at a time and they forget others are waiting outside. I come here for the Florentine Lace cookies, yet they havent had them .... last 3 times I went, and there were none.. Got smart and called first, on a Sunday, and they still didnt have any. I do not think they make these cookies in store.... they get them from somewhere else. And, they were also not able to make an iced coffee drink last time I was in and asked for one.
Awful customer service, quick to dismiss. Do not recommend.
Paid premium price for a Mothers Day cake and ordered over a week earlier. Picked up item today and several things were wrong. Paid extra for additional items, they werent included. Requested specific filling (an option they offered), nope. We can make you another one, done in a week. Premium price warrants premium service.
Arvada has some great bakeries, but this one is tops for me. Tons of delicious sweets, a few outstanding savory options, and a staff that seems to be pretty happy every time Ive spoken with them. I called to place an order for a birthday cake with Mothra on top and whoever I spoke with sounded genuinely excited about it. I was able to find the image they used as a reference and I think they did an amazing job. Im already looking for to my next cake from them. Hopefully they are familiar with King Ghidorah.
Absolutely love this Bakery! Ive had a variety of items from here but my favorites are the spinach and feta croissant, tiramisu, and Grand Mariner cake. Everything is not too sweet and really well flavored/texture. Service is excellent, everyone is really nice and takes COVID precautions seriously.
Great little place with tons of options
Still delicious! Beautiful presentations. In my top 3 for pastry/dessert spots of all time.
This place sells the best desserts Ive had from a bakery in the area. Everything from the sugar cookies to meringues to croissants to cake are amazing. We buy a yule log cake from them every year, and it is a highlight of Christmas. We usually come and buy a box of the single serving pastries, and they are so rich and good that I often feel satisfied only eating half at a time. Its a good thing this place isnt closer to my house because if it were, Id be there every week.
The french pastries are so good. Everything is baked fresh and it is truly a gem in Arvada. They have AMAZING custom cakes too. I ordered one and it turned out so good. Very impressed. Go here for everything dessert!
Lovely pastry shop with french classics like pain au chocolat and chocolate ecairs. If youre in the mood for something small, they have petit fours and tiny macarons. They also offer a variety of 9 inch cakes and will do custom orders! My suggestion: treat yourself to a napoleon and some coffee.
First visit, croissants were over cooked and tough, not flaky as they should be and the bottoms were burned. There were 2 employees and 3 customers. One customer and oneemployee had a great old friends visit while I stood there waiting to be helped. When I walked over to the chatters I was told someone would be with me. Customer service is dead at this facility.
Great place. Locally owned.
I stopped in and got a dozen of delicious 😋 macarons, some meringues, the lemon raspberry torte, an apple tart and a blueberry tart. All I can say is..... EVERYTHING was amazing and made from the best ingredients. I also got a tiramisu that was one of THE BEST I have had in a LONG time. I cannot wait to go back and grab some more of those delectable macarons and explore more of the beautiful offerings.
Ordered a birthday cake for my husband a while back and they just did a beautiful job on it. Sometimes we stop at the shop for an occasional pastry, too. Always nice.
Love the cakes here. Have never gone wrong with whatever Ive chosen. Staff are polite & go above and beyond to wear face masks & keep things clean.
Love this place. I have been a few times over the last couple of years and have never been disappointed. Recently picked up a dozen turnovers for the office and everyone was raving about how flaky and tasty the turnovers were. They never fail to impress here. I do think theyre reasonably priced for most things but the cakes can get a little pricey. Worth it though.
I was in the target next door, I saw the line of rushed, unhappy people going to Starbucks. I decided the french bakery right next door was probably better, and I couldnt have been more correct. I walked in, as soon as the young gal behind the counter was done with the customer in front of me she smiled and greeted me more politely than any Starbucks ever has. The coffee was better, and the cherry filled pastry I had made me crave more. 10 out of 10 will be back.
Their fruit tarts are amazing. They can be pricey at times, but its more of a special treat place than an every day. Fresh ingredients well prepared. Sometimes their service can be a bit slow, but its usually only when they are busy which is about half the time Im there.
This review is based on my experience in December 2019 for the order and purchase of a Yule Log. Was driving by and saw the sign advertising Yule logs the Saturday before Christmas. My Mom and I decided to stop in. The young lady behind the counter was really nice and very helpful. Said the we could purchase what they had in the cooler or order one for pick up closer to the holiday. We chose to order one. Had choice of 3 flavors (we decided on Grand Marnier-know spelling wrong) and since they were open on Christmas Eve, told them I would be in early that afternoon to pick it up. She helped us to decide how large we would need based on number of people and took care of our order. I tried to pay in cash with $50 and she let me know they dont take anything larger than $20s. No big deal...used my trusty card. Pick up was a breeze. Now, about that Yule Log. OMG! It was beautiful!!! And the taste?!?! Wonderful!!! Our family has decided to make that a Christmas tradition. Cant wait to try all of the rest of their goodies! Yum!
Ordered 2 Sables and 2 Almond Tarts to go.The Sables were hard and stale tasting. Very limited selection. Employee was not even cordial. We were the only customers in the store.Wont patronize again.
Our wedding coordinator arranged for our intimate wedding cake to be made from La Patisserie, and we could not be happier! Not only was it gorgeous, but it tasted absolutely AMAZING! Everyone enjoyed it. I know we did not meet, but thank you SO MUCH for making our special day even better.
This is such a special bakery and they created the most amazingly beautiful set up for our wedding!! We had tuxedo strawberries, sugar cookies, two flavors of cupcakes and a cake of course! The whole process went smoothly and they made my dream come to life with amazing flavors to top it off. So appreciative and was cost friendly. We wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a brilliant job done!Cassie & Austin Ressler
I love the variety they offer, and everything is delicious!
On a Friday, I placed ordered via telephone from Kentucky and explained that I wanted an assortment of french pastries for a reception, gave them a budget and left the selection up to their discretion. I explained I would be flying into the Denver Area and would pick up the order on Monday afternoon. They were so helpful. The pastries were fresh and extraordinary in presentation and flavor. Thank you. It was the perfect amount for the number of guests as you suggested.
I have been here twice and each time I was impressed. Great little treats that are very unique. Im going this morning to get some stuff for mothers day. Although my wife did just tell me that when my mother came in from California she took her and my 2 year old daughter to get some stuff and my daughter was having a hard time not being able to grab the goodies so she was having a hard time, and the man up front was appalled, the word she used to describe his attitude. Still, the stuff I have tried was great and its right across the street.
Bought a cake for a birthday, based on the good reviews. I had really high hopes. Alas, it was not to bee. There was more buttercream than cake so it was sweet and greasy. The cake itself was bone dry. Ive definitely had much better grocery store bakery cakes. I also purchased macarons and they have lots of really sweet filling, so also disappointing. My wifes several day old, kind of dry, oatmeal cookies were more appetizing.
Great local bakery and cafe right next to Target on Wadsworth. Fantastic bread, croissant, cookies, cakes, and other sweets. They do custom cake orders for very reasonable prices. Also fresh made crepes and coffee.
I always enjoy coming into this place for my sweet tooth fix. Baked goods here are obviously made with a personal touch, and the staff has always been friendly to me, even when things are busy. And they are definitely busy for a reason. Great stuff!
Love everything in this place, everything is so delicious. I know this place for 20 years already I still love it.
Sadie and the bakery were a pleasure to work with for our wedding. They had amazing flavors to choose from for our cake, and we were not disappointed in our choice. They made around 400 petit fours for our wedding, which the guests loved. We also got to choose four different ones so there was a great variety. Amazing alternative to a giant wedding cake.
The last few years I was Extremely disappointed in their customer service. I chose to edit my original review in which I said this. Ive had consistently better service in 2016. I never had a problem with their delicious pastries, just their service, but I appreciate that it has improved.
Not really impressed. I saw the good reviews, and thought this would be a fun place to get some treats, but not so much. The selection wasnt very good, the service was barely acceptable, and the items we purchased werent that great. My husband tried the cheese twist/straw, and I grabbed a tiny black forest cake (or at least I think it was a cake). Ive had better black forest cake from king soopers.
Amazing cakes! We held a large charity event for our high schools athletic programs that La Patisserie supported with two sheet cakes. They looked fantastic and tasted even better! My wife commented that it was better than wedding cake, and she loves wedding cake.
The desserts here are amazing. Yummy, pretty looking and very reasonably priced!
I used to love to come in and get coffee and a pastry in the morning, everything that I have ever tried here has been amazing! They are a local business, and I have always felt at home here.Sadly, I live in Aurora now and its hard to get by to visit them again. I will be in as soon as possible...writing this review has sent me into a craving!
Very delicious and courteous service! I brought some small treats home to my parents and they have since made a couple trip back even though it is on the other side of town from them. It is nice to have something handcrafted and a good small business to support!
Absolutely have to go! Great for dates, good impressions, or just a great treat!!
Pastries are always a delight, customer service leaves much to be desired. Felt like I was being forged out of the shop the second she knew the store had been paid. Will not be back, the German bakery in Olde Town is a little out of my way but has wonderful pastries and exceptional customer service
The best French bakery I have come across in Colorado. They have a great selection of breads, desserts, ice cream... Super friendly and always a pleasure to visit.
Ordered a birthday cake for my husband a while back and they just did a beautiful job on it. Sometimes we stop at the shop for an occasional pastry, too. Always nice.
A delicious french bakery with excellent classic french breads and pastries as well as cookies, cakes, and crepes. The best fruit tart, macaroons, and petit fours Ive ever had! The staff is very kind and accommodating for custom orders also.
The pastries and desserts he look absolutely wonderful, but I feel, as a professional baker, they are a tad over priced. The lattes are good, but a little on the bitter side. And the tiramisu was too sweet with not enough espresso.
Tucked between a mattress store and a Target youll find a spectacular french bakery. Its all done the old school way here and it shows. Really doesnt matter what you get EVERYTHING is great. Wont hurt to call a head if you are looking for something special they will do orders. (Brioche - Hint hint... SOOOOOOO Good)
This is not for me, but it is for my God daughters parents. They went and bought macaroons here. First of, they didnt get the choice to choose the flavor or the color of the macaroons. When the employee went back to ask and came back she said he couldnt choose the flavor or the color of the macaroons. Let alone the macaroons didnt taste the way it should.
Lovely little shop to stop by and get a treat. Ive mostly had the pastries, but everything Ive tried was great.
This place is the real deal. Fresh baked pasteries daily. I went in shortly before closing hoping I might score something delicious. The poor dear behind the counter being monumentally apologetic for the lack of selection. I can only guess she must have gotten some attitude from people who dont understand how a true bakery works...an excellent one such as this has very little, if anything left at the end of the day. Still managed to get myself an amazing mini lemon cake with fresh raspberries in the middle, along with a cherry danish for my breakfast the day... which lasted uneaten for about 5 minutes after the cake.
Wow, this place is great. Seems a little surprising to see a place like this here, but very welcome. Theyve got a large selection and Im looking forward to trying more.A bit hard to find, its actually right next to the Target.
This place used to be the best pastry place in the north side of town. Just in the last two months, they doubled their prices for cakes, charged us $73 for a medium birthday cake with an animal design, which they have done many times for us before, and the quality for the finish was pretty bad. dont know if they changed their chef or what!.Be ready to cough up big bucks for their cakes ( actually more expensive than Whole Foods) if you are going back.. I know im not!!!!
I ordered a wedding cake from La Patisserie Francaise 1 week before I needed it. Granted, this is not customary, however, Sadie and her team took the picture of what I wanted and made it a reality. I was not a traditional bride, so there was no tasting or picking out details- only the picture. I knew what I wanted. Not only did I have them under a time crunch, I wanted a Boston Crème Pie flavored cake – my husband’s favorite flavor. Sadie said that it would be no problem. I was skeptical and I don’t eat cake so I relied totally on her expertise to make this happen. My day came and I went to pick up my cake (it was only for 25 people so I was able to transport it myself) and I was so excited to see what it looked like. She did send me a picture and I was floored- so I was a little prepared. When I arrived at the bakery and her manager kindly took the top of the box off of my cake I was speechless. I was so emotional in regards to how beautiful the cake was, I started crying, asking my husband to tell our guests that cannot eat my beautiful cake! Nonetheless, I “allowed” my guests to eat my gorgeous cake, and of course the flavor, texture and icing was PHENOMINAL! There was none left to save for my anniversary – which doesn’t bother me because I will be ordering my anniversary cake from La Patisserie Francaise!Mike and Sabrina Bowers
Used to come here when I was little and remember it being much better. The Macaroons were stale and chalky- had to spit them out, and they are $2.25 a piece!Never a good selection of cakes either, Ive come here several times and there is usually only one or two cakes in the display window. I would say the staff is very friendly, but very slow as well.I guess I keep coming back because Im hoping it will return to the bakery I remember it to be.
Predictably awesome pastries. Service is most often great. We gladly visit here at least weekly.
The carrot cake is to die for! Plus they made a custom rainbow unicorn cake for my girlfriend and it was perfect! Plus it was super delicious!
Amazing desserts! Super friendly staff. Would totally recommend this place to anyone!
This place has a friendly atmosphere and amazing treats! Im DEFINATLY returning
Its rare to find a true bakery and even more rare to find one which makes everything from scratch! We were in area and craving dessert, so my daughter found this via Google. Everything we got was scrumptious and obviously homemade like the owner assured me. A lot of bakeries buy frozen premade pastries and 5 gallon buckets of frostings, so everything across the country tastes like it came from the same Sysco factory - because it basically does....NOT HERE!Please, please support mom and pop bakeries like this! They are true community treasures! We are from Wyoming but go to the Denver area frequently, and will stop by here for napoleans and strudel whenever we can!
Gorgeous custom cakes that are as delicious as they look. Very easy to work with and professional the whole way!
We picked up some pastries here and they were delicious. The people were friendly and helpful. We will be going back for more.
We just got some cinnamon rolls brought over from a vendor and OMG!!! They were the best I have had and I love the Pink box. Made my Friday and my Co-workers happy happy!! Thank you Palo Duro and La Patisserie.
I come here to taste for French pastry. Each thing was dissapointing and much too expensive for chemical flavors with too much sugar. Macaron were stale and over sweet with artificial flavoring. Strawberry tastes like chemical, chocolate is awful. Shopgirl was assuring me that their macaron are fresh and the best in the area but they were terrible. Caramel mousse was much too sweet, chocolate too, mousse not keeping its consistency, the chocolate on top was soft and mushy, all three cakes had strange chocolate base that was not at all appetising. Blueberry tarte is real blueberry but the crust was soggy and inedible, hard, not at all crumby or flaky like tarte crust should taste. Terrible waste of money for too sweet cakes, pretty but not good tasting. If this is how Americains like over sweet pastry, it is disappointing, not at all française. Too sweet, artificial flavors, ridicule prices for things that only look good and do not taste like luxury dessert.
A little pricey but very good
They always have delicious treats here. Good customer service and usually no wait time.
Made the mistake of going to Rheinlanders, in old Arvada, because they claim they are the Best, and Never had a complaint. They were neither, but was looking for genuine German kuchen, which they claimed to have. They were very dry coffee cakes. They refused to credit and didnt care. This bakery, was like Daniels of Paris, but they are too far away now that we live in North Westminster. This place was very friendly, and it was near the end of a busy day. Their pastries were so awesome, I spent too much! Was trying to treat our son, who is deployed now, 5th time, and our neighbors, who the husband has now passed away. :(You gave us a lovely experience. We took the pastries to our neighborhood pool private picnic, and surprised them. Everything was So delicious, that we All shared bites! Our only complaint, was there wasnt more! Thanks and God Bless you!
Wanted nice French bread and twice tried baguettes there were too hard to eat within hours.
Wonderful staff and French pastries
Best ham and swiss croissant Ive ever had
I had the Feta and spinach crossaint, very tasty.
Ive had the occasion to buy 2 cakes from them. I like the cakes, the ingredients. Was disappointed both times with how they decorated it. Unprofessional, minimalist and sloppy. Both times they said they didnt have the time to make it right. Buh-bye, then!
Sadie and her team provide an outstanding, authentic, french pastry experience!!!-Thanks, Kim M.
Exceedingly poor customer service. I have lived in Arvada for 25 years and always try to use local, Arvada businesses. I ordered a very specific custom cake for a college graduation party a week in advance, I confirmed the order 2 days in advance of pickup. When I went to pickup the cake, it was the total opposite of my order!! The staff seemed very unconcerned and I made it clear I was not leaving with that cake and needed an alternate cake. The Manager found 2 smaller cakes in the back and I was offered those as an alternative. Not only did they not seem sorry about the mixup, they did not even offer me a discount on the 2 substitute cakes!! I paid full price which was $49.00!! When the time came at the party to cut the cakes, they were both frozen!! Needless to say, I will never use this Arvada business again and would not recommend them to anyone.
Best Black Forest Cake we have ever tasted!
I dont know why whenever i read a food magazine or a blog they give so much rave about this place. Best bakery? more like best dissapointment! Ive been here twice, once in 2012 and yesterday, june 2015. Still the same depressing old cakes, dessert and the saddest looking macarons ever presented. I was craving for a cream puff so i had no choice to go here for one. I had a hard time selecting, not because theres a whole lot to choose from, but because all of the desserts from cookies, cakes, puffs, eclairs, meringues look so damn old! There is no heart in its creation. They look sloppy, unprofessional and just very depress looking things. I just bought my cream puff and my husband bought a small cake. Also, another thing....what is the point of putting chairs n tables for the customers to eat if you dont give napkins, a plate or any sort of cutlery? My husband had to eat his cake with his bare hands like a barbarian. Do the French a favor by not insulting them with lousy, overpriced desserts....or just close down.
I never got to try anything here due to being completly ignored! You will never get my money now. Very rude! From what I seen while waiting to be aknowledged it didnt look all that great anyways. Not to clean either.
Delicious fresh made french sweets and coffee
The town I grew up in had 3 bakeries within 2 mins walking distance from my house. Warm baguettes, well proportioned religieuses au chocolat (nuns) and other chaussons aux pommes became a big part of my childhood in France. Thats where I developed the sweet tooth that I kept to this day.La Patisserie Francaise has brought me back incredibly close to the flavors and delicacies of my childhood without catering too closely to local tastes.Highly recommend it.
Always fresh, and magnificent meranges❣
Lemon tart had a long blond hair inside. Returned items and got full refund. Noticed employees were not wearing hair nets while preparing pastry items. Dont intend on going back.
Melt in your mouth treats. Try everything.
Amazing pastries and very friendly staff!
My favorite pastry shop. The Napoleons are my favorite.
Dirty, sub par food, horribly rude owner. Do yourself a favor and go to literally any bakery than this place.
Yummy yummy everything!
Hidden gem. Addicting tasty treats.
I love this bakery
Very Overpriced for subpar pastries and extremely uncomfortable customer service. Not going back. Dont recommend.
Love the cup cakes
Delicious Pastries
It is always great!!!
Never heard of it
