Unless you want to go to Hendersonville or Arden, this place has a monopoly on your interlock device options. And they act like it. Its a they dont need you, you need them kind of business and thats how they treat you as a customer. They get the job done I guess and seemingly do so without damaging your vehicle. Itd be nice if they had some competition to compare them to, or at least had access to a waiting room/bathroom that was open to the customers keeping them in business instead of having to wait out in your car and hold it with risk of losing your place in line if you go to the gas station around the corner. The device is also super loud when in use and there is no way to turn the volume down on your own.

Quick and painless install, completed in less than 1.5hrs. The gentleman (don’t remember his name) that helped me was kind and professional. I’m sure he deals with a lot of problematic customers who take out their frustrations on him, but he was patient with me and made sure to take the time to explain everything necessary to me and make sure I left knowing what to expect and feeling comfortable.

Thus far ive been a client 3 months . the guy doing the install will give yoiu some good tips so listen. so far no violations. only hiccup was taking my to hickory for calibration. nobodys fault hue to their local officeflooding really but it did make for a stressful few days ax my svc lockout was now on i just begrudgingly made the trip. im seeing where there is an office now ar 12 glenn willow dr unit 52 arden nc 28704.. good tech and customer service is always what it what it is . slow but efficient. im happy they have yet not to solve any of my issues

Lets face it: youre not in the best place in your life if you have to come here. The folks who work here have to deal with a lot of frustrated, unhappy people, but Ive always been treated with the utmost respect and helpful attitude.I read some seriously troubling reviews before I first came here (presumably from people who didnt play by the rules--rules that are set by the state, mind you), but my experience has been professional and issue-free. Its hard to recommend given the context, but Im grateful the people at this establishment are reasonable and fair.

3 more months to go. Occasionally, I think the breathylizer is defective as it gave me a violation before I even had a chance to blow into it. Was told to submit a complaint and issue would be resolved in 5 days.... Its been 10 days w/o any word from the company.I gave it 4 stars only because Robert is an excellent employee.

With having to go through this unfortunate event in my life, Smart Start made overcoming this negative time a wonderful experience. Chadwick was always super helpful anytime I had a concern or question. As long as you follow the instructions, do as youre told, and come in when youre supposed to for calibrations, time will fly by and youll be done before you know it. My year went faster than a year normally feels. I recommend anyone that needs to have this system installed to come here. Cheapest option and the best customer service!

They suck they wouldnt even get one of their techs to come to their own place of business to fix there device that burnt up in my truck had me stranded 54 miles from my home and they tell me I have to have my truck towed home and then towed back which would it cost $200 each way. I told the lady shes fucking crazy

I dont agree with this racket of a company who kicks people when theyre down, but to make good of a bad situation... this location offers a staff that tries to put themselves in your shoes and work with you on any problems you may have. The only recommendations I have is to better address appointment times and be open more than four days in the week.

They were very friendly and helpful. We had a difficult time using the equipment. The technician was patient and had to reinstall a different model product for us to use. It was a good experience.

So, even though the door to the building states they open at 7am, this is not the case. I arrived there at 7am thinking there would be someone available to re-calibrate my car and he didnt roll up until 715. Even though he saw me waiting outside in the cold he didnt acknowledge my presence and when I asked him if they opened at 7 he said no 715 to which I replied it was 717 and I have to be at work in 15 min.Also, we were never told this, but you have to have an appointment before attempting to be seen.

Unreliable device. The clients car had not been driven at all since installation and registered a violation! Dont use them, not reliable devices at all!

Showed up 15 minutes late to our appointment because of their useless corporate phone number and lack of signage on building to make it locatable, and they turned us away saying we should have called. On top of it the guy we spoke to was a completely rude jerk. And their “shop” is a warehouse with next to nothing in it. Its a useless establishment.

I went to Smart Start in Asheville back around May and uninstall date was Sept. 20th. The reason it was just a few months is because I had an interlock through Monotech. During that time my license were suspended and I didnt even know until 4 months later. They said it was no problem. I got my unrestricted license back. But then 4 years later I had to go to dmv they inform me that I have to get another interlock until September 20th.Because in theor words i slipped through cracks. But anyway I go to Smart Start. 1st month was fine. The 2nd month one morning I drive to Asheville Crossroads Treatment Center and as Im leaving Im almost home to Marion NC and it starts beeping so I do my rolling test and it detects alcohol. So I go back up there and pay the fee for the violation. In the 4 and a half months this happened every day even though I wished with water. Then finally the day comes to get it taken out. Im in the waiting area in a good mood until one of the guys comes in and says we removed the interlock but your car wont start. I said I live in Marion so your telling me Im stuck and plus Im going to have to pay to get it fixed. He said the good news is that you wont have to pay for a rollback, the repairshis so close it can be pushed but Ill work on it for about 20 minutes. I have to get home. Im like Ive got get home. I finally got a ride before I left they said leave your keys this repair shop behind here can fix it over the weekend and if they find that it was our fault Smart Start will cover it. Monday came and we went to get my car. They charged me 250 bucks to repair a bad contact, replace wires and form labor and they said It wasnt Smart Starts fault even if they knocked it loose it would have come off on its on. I filed grievance with Smart Start they said if I needed their services again the installation would be free.Thats Smart Start

Worker are helpful and insightful but if your not careful and dont get mouth washed out you can get a violation just for food first time Starbucks coffees second time a bit of pizza but its not staff its the machine its finicky but 53$ later you are good again i think lol
