Oh my god, this STORE! Seriously, why arent there bead stores like this in Raleigh?! Michaels, Im so sorry 🙏🏻, but your bead selection cant even compare. This store doesnt sell just mass produced beads, but unique, one-of-a-kind, HANDMADE beads from around the world as well as antique beads!!! 💕💕💕 If you want to make your jewelry special then this is the place to go. My wife and I love this store and we will definitely be coming back whenever we visit Asheville.

I told my husband that I was just going to take a quick look at this store and would be back out asap. Well I didnt expect there to be the most beautiful, well kept aquarium in there! Out had such gorgeous coral in it. The girl at the register said theyve had it for about 15 years and the yellow tang is almost that old too!They have lots and lots of different types of beads, perfect for anyone interested in making jewelry. They also had some glass pieces, the sides of which had been rounded/dulled to look like sea glass. They also had pieces of abalone shell. Both cost 20 and 25 cents per gram. I got some of each.There was also a girl in there who had her beautiful cat, Renley on a leash! Ive only seen that twice before and was smitten with him!They also had a gorgeous fireplace that is worth admiring!

I loved this amazing bead shop! The staff members are incredibly friendly and super knowledgeable about the inventory and what may be needed for a certain craft. The prices are extremely reasonable and Id be surprised if you didnt leave with exactly what you set out to find :) if not better!

Tru helped me and was the sweetest person ever! She helped me pick out a star and it’s amazing! She is awesome and helped me get just what i wanted! Great service.

I completely agree with Jesse T. I LOVE this place ❣️ They have so many beautiful beads you can’t find in craft stores. That is almost all we have in Charlotte. The staff a wonderful too! We use to go Asheville a lot before my brother moved to Boone. So glad this shop is still here! I only have one complaint beside being far away….I buy so much (get lots of inspiration just walking thru), but I go home so happy and excited about my new found treasures. I’m hoping to come to Asheville this fall and know I need to set aside a few hours in this happy place. 🤔🍁🥰

The young lady who was checking us out was EXTREMELY RUDE. The store closed at 6. We were checking out at 6:05. Instead of helping us find what we were looking for she repeatedly stated we close at 6. I wish I knew the young ladies name because I would have loved to let the manager know. Wouldnt recommend the store if shes working. Wont be going back because of the attitude of the cashier and lack of help trying to find what we were looking for but repeated announcement of wanting to be out at 6pm. Spent quite a bit of money on our purchase. We looked at trying to return the stars however they actually make them or we would have unfortunately. If the blonde cashier isnt working the store may be great but if she is... shes rude.

The folks here are so friendly and the prices are reasonable too. I bought a star lantern from here and cant wait to see it opened Christmas morning! So beautiful and unique. I honestly did not expect the actual cord and light socket to be included! What a pleasant surprise! I also found some feathers and the girl helping me was able to show me exactly how to turn them into some cool earrings to gift my daughter. If youre in Asheville, you should stop in and see this place!

Extremly rude cashier. With several hundred dollars spent on stars. The blonde cashier was just plum rude. Kept announcing they close at 6 we checked out at 6:05 didnt have a problem maken the sale but had a major attitude doing so... Ive worked in retail and thats not the attitude to have! I wont be back. I rather order straight from the company rather then shopping in this store again with the young blonde cashier!

As a jewelry artist, this place is probably my favorite store in downtown Asheville. The owner is sweet as can be, and so are the employees. Sometimes theres even a sweet pupper there to love on while you shop. Good prices, especially on those glass crystal things that catch light. But the best part by far is the incredible salt water fish tank they have. You can sit on their comfy couch and watch the fish all you want. They have no problem with pets and my dog loves coming in here.

As a native to Asheville, I’ve been visiting Chevron since I was a kid. Some of my favorite childhood memories include visiting the shop during Bele Chere and admiring their vast selection of beautiful beads while my parents listened to live music. I’ll always love their star lamps, too! Such a great shop and an Asheville staple!

Horrible experience, the owner was incredibly rude and condescending, while asking very personal questions that were frankly none of her business and freely giving unsolicited advice. As much as I love to support local - I will pass on this shop, as I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable.

Incredibly huge selection of ALL things to make jewelry and they carry a variety of other unique finds. The owner and staff were very helpful, I could not have asked for a better shopping experience! They will show you how to assemble the jewelry and provide the tools so you can create your special piece in the store, or for a small fee they will do it for you. This store is truly special. I look forward to shopping there again.

My daughter and I love this store. FOUR rooms of carefully organized beads and super cute star lanterns! They have necklace kits that make it easy to attach a clasp for professional looking jewelry. Sweet and helpful staff. Downtown and close to lots of parking.

Wonderful shop. Excellent job of restringing beads for necklaces, bracelets, and just about anything beaded. During the past two years Chevron Trading Post has been our go to place for restringing and repairs. They also sell newly crafted original jewelry. Quite beautiful and very reasonable. We highly recommend.

If you are a bead freak on any level, you must visit this store! Every shape, size, old and new. Findings, clasps, wire, chain everything needed to get those creative juices flowing. My husband and I talked with the owner of the store for 20+ years. Very knowledgeable and we shared some bead stories as I used to deal in trade beads...lots of them! Take a class, meet some folks, and have some reading fun!

Seed bead collection is wonderful

I have been a customer of this place for the past 3 years. I was always happy with the wide selection of choice the store offered. Then, this week for the first time I had to bring back unopened metal wire for stone wrapping they still had the tag of the store on them. I didnt even want cash back, just a coupon to use in the store (and I had things to buy there that morning). And the ladies refused to do it. I think that it is really sad customer service. And their attitude was what really disappointed me: they werent sorry, they didnt try, they simply didnt care. Really sad knowing that customer service and a human face is the main reason why I do not buy online.

This charming place has beads of all sorts, stones, a large selection of light stars you can hang up anywhere, and more! Youll love this place if youre crafty!

The bead selection is great. The customer service is lacking. Most of those that work there dont even make eye contact with you. But their selection is awesome.

I have visited this store twice, and both times, my friends had to remind me that over an hour had passed, it was time for lunch, we needed to go. There is so much to see in the store, and I found plenty of beads to add to my collection. I dont live in Asheville, and recently I talked to the owner to place an order over the phone. She took a lot of time to make sure everything was just right. Excellent customer service!

I always stop here when in Asheville. They have great and unique stuff. I always feel SO inspired after visiting.

My experience was great! You pick, make and take jewelry that you put together. What you pay is based on what beads or stones you pick out. They dont make it for you but will help you get started. It was a nice break for us after having walked around downtown for much of the day. We laughed and joked with some other mom daughter duos. Look forward to doing it again!

Staff is always very helpful. I never leave empty handed. Also, I take in bead projects that I have made with the beads Ive purchased at the store.

The staff here are really nice and super helpful. I actually ended up not getting beads or jewelry but some amazing lotion. They have cool lamps/lighting that seem to be what draws people in to the store.

Good store. Very nice selection. I picked up 2 bags of yarn for me and my gf. Only thing i didnt like was the lady thought i was shoplifting. After i showed her i had the bags in my hand i didnt bother trying to find a pendant for my gf. I just bought the yarn and left because i felt uncomfortable.

The staff here is beyond friendly, always willing to answer questions and give advice, even if you are 100% ignorant of beads! Their selection is great. I love this store.

We love this store!!!! Wall to wall great variety of beads, findings, crystals, kits, books and resident snuggly doggie and warm, helpful staff. The only thing missing is a coffee/chocolate bar which would totally fit in the back room near the couch!!! That is my helpful suggestion

Very disappointed with my experience visting this store. This was my first visit to Asheville; Im visting from out of state for the weekend. When I was at the counter, I was never acknowledged (a sales person literally looked at me, turned around and walked away) or greeted when I first walked through the door while other customers that came in after me were and asked if they needed help. Im a jewelry designer and was so looking forward to visiting this shop and purchasing some supplies. I left without making a purchase.

Always a good experience. They are accommodating without being pushy and are always happy to help during the times Ive visited.
