I have been a customer for many years. I get excellent customer service every time I go here. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I recently bought a used mountain bike, rode it a couple times and realized it had a couple issues. Took it back and they got it fixed up right for me. You can feel confident purchasing anything from Play It Again Sports that you have gotten a good deal and they will stand by their products.

We came to get disc golf discs without know too much, and Adam was extremely helpful at walking us through all the basics and want to get. Very happy we came here, they had more than we even thought they would. Plenty of other sports as well but they rock at disc golf!

Charles and Brian were fantastic in coming to my house to move a treadmill from one level of my house to another; they arrived promptly, dismantled the treadmill and had it reassembled downstairs and serviced in no time at all. Very reasonably priced.J. Jones

Good selection of elliptical machines, good prices, very knowledgeable about products, parts, options, etc. After purchase, Charles and his assistant delivered, set up, explained features of new machine, disassembled old one and removed it…all with great good humor and efficiently. They arrived on time exactly as promised during purchase. Highly recommend the store and the people!

I’ve had several great experiences with the Asheville Play It Again Sports. The also offer moving services if you have larger pieces to be moved. Gave me a fair market price for all my equipment. Even offered assistance in one of my gym pieces that needed slight repair. I’d highly recommend these guys for used and even new equipment!

Charles went above and beyond to save my NordicTrac Elliptical which was partially submerged during a basement flood. I cannot express how grateful and impressed I am for the effort he made to bring it back to life. I just finished my first workout on it since its return and it runs like new!!! Thank you so much.

No help what so ever. Everything I have ever been there they have some excuse to not want my equipment even when you are asking for change almost. Is it profiling? Who knows...but the experiences Ive had were at best disappointing.

Recently purchased a very large elliptical machine from play it again sports. Had a very good experience. Brian spent a lot of time with me, explaining all the features of the different machines they had for sale and letting me try them all out. He and Charles answered all my questions. I wanted to buy this from them rather than from a private party because I want to be able to call on them, should it ever need servicing. They delivered the machine to me in about a week because they were busy. Getting this big machine downstairs into my house was a major effort, but they accomplished it. Then Charles made sure that it was working well. Fixed a minor sound that was happening when using it. And even helped bring a piece of furniture downstairs for me. Been using the machine everyday and so far its working fine. Grateful to be getting some exercise again at last.

Yes its used, but the quality of the products themselves does the selling. This is not a junk store. I needed a new softball glove, I play in an over 40 league and I just didnt want to pay new or break one in. I found a high quality brand used to just the right amount to save me its break in and still give me a new glove feel, all for way less then half the price of new. Love this place and the staff couldnt have been any more friendly or helpful. Want good quality at a bargain, go here first, period

My wife and I went there to buy a weight lifting bench and weights for our sons. The staff was friendly and helpful, paying attention and listening, but not acting pushy. We found what we were looking for at a reasonable price, and they gladly helped us load it in our car. Id say they earned an A+.

Outstanding experience. The crew gave us a fair price for our used golf and baseball gear and we scored an excellent used bike. Charles offered to tune up the bike due to some apparent brake issues. We got a call the same afternoon and picked up a fully functional sweet bike for my son. Terrific!

Great place for disc golfers and anyone looking to save money on their sports gear. Fantastic customer service as well. The employees are also extremely humble about losing ping matches 😎 got the pleasure of meeting one of their finest by the name of Jason who I got to play ping pong with and crushed him. Just kidding he beat me it was a great match.

Im a cheapskate when it comes to used equipment. So, id like it to be cheaper, but still, good used at a used price.

Just bought a new Pro Form exercise bike and was very pleased with the whole experience. Charles was very knowledgeable about the product and delivered it as well as put it together. I’d recommend you visit these guys before making any decision on an equipment purchase.

Service was excellent; Charlie went completely out of his way to help me. I purchased a bike rack for the back of my car. He was kind enough to put it on for me and make sure it was secure...he even zip-tied the loose bands so they wouldnt flap around. THEN, he helped get my new windshield wiper on ~ which I was unable to figure out. Thank you, Charlie! You ROCK!

Slack mask policy- nothing on the doors did I could see even saying to wear a mask oh, but I could have missed it. However there was like 10 customers in the store and only two had a mask on. The staff is friendly and will leave you alone if you dont need any help but the selection was a little threadbare. Of course he could just be a reflection of the time.

Employees are friendly i was there looking for a slowpitch softball bat found one or two that I liked the only problem was that both had cracks in them cant believe they are selling damaged goods if you plan on shopping there look closely at the items you are buying

I am so impressed with the knowledge and courtesy of Doug, Charlie and staff! When my gym closed on Monday, I was desperate for an elliptical. Charlie and Doug spoke with me by phone on 4 occasions and gave me excellent advice before I made the trip to Asheville. While I was in the store, Charlie and crew broke down the machine, gave us instructions on how to put it back together and loaded it in my car. Charlie assured me that he is available to service the machine if I have problems. I was so happy with the product and service that I also bought a new treadmill (that Charlie will deliver for a nominal price). this business exemplifies fabulous customer service and I will return for all my sporting needs.

Play It Again Sports is a great store with great staff and great customer support. This business has been in the exact same spot since the early 1990s and can be relied upon for customer support for anything they sell.Its like one of those old fashioned family run stores that is so reliable & friendly that one just cant imagine buying sports equipment from anyone else.

Bought a used Wilson Impact tennis racket at a great price, while playing with it the performance was awesome and I love the racket, but the grip was turning my hands black from the old rapping on the handle. So I went back to get handle tape and when they asked what I was doing they said they would rap it for free if I brought it back in, so I did just that and they did an amazing job rapping the handle and did it at no charge, I was blown away by the service and how they handled the situation. This place is great! I’ve bought a few little things here over the last couple years, and they often have used items which fit our needs for kids’ sports so I always check here first when we need something. Today I was trying to trade in an older street bicycle and find a mountain bike to buy. The owner didn’t feel he could give me much for the older bike, so he recommended I keep it but gave me a really nice discount on a mountain bike anyway, which he totally didn’t have to do!! So nice!!!

My daughter and I dropped in just to check out the kayaks. They had just gotten one in that wasnt out on the showroom floor yet. We went in the back, they pulled the kayak down so my daughter could try it out. They were so helpful explaining they can accept payments. I went back the next day on Christmas Eve to make a down payment, and they offered me a great deal for Christmas. Instead of putting money down on it that day, I left with it and was able to give it to my daughter for Christmas. I had not planned on taking it home that day, but they made it possible. They even measured the kayak and loaded up in my car for me. These people were really nice and so easy to work with. Definitely will be going back if I need anything else!

Went in to the store to get a treadmill for my mom, I had a hard time finding one that I thought would fit her needs. They have such a great variety of new and used products. I was able to ask the staff about the treadmills they carried and they were able to answer every question I threw at them. I cant believe how knowledgeable they are about their products. Another great thing is that the manager was able to give me a great deal! Ill definitely be going back to this store.

I went in to trade some of my stuff to get some exercise equipment. They gave me more than fair price for my stuff toward the equipment. The staff were friendly and made me a good deal. The manager is very friendly and Proffesional. If they dont have the exact item you need, talk to him about your project, he often can point you in the right direction and/or he will actively keep an eye out to find what your looking for.

Ive been here several times over the years, and its always been a disappointment. They dont often have what Im hoping to find, or if they do, its not in very good condition, and/or it seems overpriced. Went here the other day hoping to find kettlebells, but there were none. The store was packed with people though, almost too many, so I guess they are doing something right.

Sunday, 10/30/16, bought a second piece of new exercise equipment from Play it Again Sports. As for the price, it was the same price as on Amazon for prime members. However, Amazon charged $150 for in-home assembly. The elliptical I purchased was assembled and we brought it home thinking it would go down the hallway into the exercise room. It didnt. A quick call and the owner/staff said they would be by after the store closed to help with getting it in. Removal of a few parts and within 30 minutes they had the elliptical in the room and re-assembled. Now, this was after hours on a Sunday. Given that customer service is a thing of the past, they made 5 stars for that alone in my book. Will be a return customer.
