The guys at Hill Top Barn Wood were excellent. The finished work speaks for itself — love the transformation of our living room! But the differentiator for me was the customer service and quality communication directly from the owner, Mike. The guys at Hilltop worked with me each step of the way to help me make my vision come to life. The people at Hilltop Barn are a pleasure to work with. They re-sawed a hundred year old 12x12 Oak beam into the 4x6 beams you see at the ceiling in the image. They also provided a Chestnut mantle cut from from an old, log cabin. They are kind, fair, easy to work with, do good work, and are on-time. I love that we have this awesome resource in Asheville! I contacted Hill Top Barn Wood Shop for what I thought was a unique request. I wanted reclaimed hardwood stair treads and risers for the steps in our new home. Jared was my main point of contact via phone and email throughout this whole process. He explained to me the benefits of Oak, Chestnut, and Pine. I decided that Oak was in my budget and was excited to see what Jared and the guys at Hill Top could whip up for me. Jared seemed just as enthusiastic as I was to see the project unfold. I have been amazed at the quality of service that the guys at Hill Top provided. From the very first phone call I have been happy with the response time, quality of work, and the flexibility that they offered. I can’t say enough about how wonderful my experience was with Hill Top, their customer service and professionalism was top notch! I contacted them about making a mantle for us, they responded immediately and sent pictures of options for us within a couple days. After we chose our mantle they kept in touch, letting us know how the progress of milling was going along with pictures. Within a few weeks we had the final product and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you Hill Top got making our mantle vision come true!

I have been a customer at Hill Top for over a year. I used to have to wait a few weeks for material to be processed to my specs but on the last 2 orders they turned my order around in just a few days. They have always done a great job but their quality has improved. I asked what changed and they said new people and larger more powerful equipment. Thanks guys. Ill be back.

Ive been a customer for almost a year now and these fellas are the heat. They are knowledgeable, have a plethora of great materials, and most importantly, want to help me get exactly what I need. Cant recommend them highly enough.

I went to Hilltop in February to have them make me a custom 8 foot wood slab. Dealt entirely with Jared throughout the process. They had issues related to a mill being stolen but I was willing to wait because theyre a small, local company. So Jared says my slab is set to be cut first week of May and he contacted me May 3rd to verify measurements and he says theyre getting ready to cut it. Thats the last contact Jared had with me. I recommended to my family to go to hilltop for an unrelated wood project. While they were at hilltop in early July, they asked about the status of my wood slab and were told yeah, we couldnt do that. That was the entire explanation. I never heard from Jared. Horrible customer service and honestly would never do business with them. Id still be waiting if family members hadnt happened to ask while they were there.Do yourself a favor and go to Asheville Hardware instead, I walked in and had my pick of >100 slabs, got one for cheaper than hilltop quoted me and had it in my garage that same day.So hilltop took 6 months and I got no slab.Asheville Hardware, I had a slab in my truck within an hour.The owner of hilltop left me a voicemail after I contacted them. Apparently he had no idea any of the issues with my order or the customer service I received which isnt a good sign for an extremely small business.
