Really nice record store. Great selection of both new and used. And the used stuff was pristine! Super nice store employee at the register, too. Will definitely be making a return visit when in Asheville again.
Brought my son to look for an iPod (last ditch effort to find a used one locally), they only sell record and cassette players, but we found a few good albums. One classical mix that comes paired with a coloring book, and has his favorite bedtime song, Gymnopédies No. 1. He also picked a couple Ella Fitzgerald albums to try out. Very helpful staff and good selection.
Awesome record store. New reissues and releases. The best is tons of OG vinyl. Great vibe with good people that work there.
Best place in town for all your vinyl needs. Cant imagine Asheville without Harvest. Their store is impeccable. Love you guys.
Great selection! A lot of brand new vinyl, great stuff, not the best for the used bargain crate diggers, but definitely found a few gems.
Really nice selection of new and used vinyl. Lots of great new issues in the Jazz section.
I always enjoy going into Harvest. Good atmosphere and a knowledgeable staff that is super helpful. This is the stop for Records in Asheville.
Wanted to hit a record store while on vacation and was glad I picked this one. I found a bunch of good albums that Ive been looking for. They had a great selection, a lot of vinyl and a much bigger and better metal vinyl selection than Im used to.Would absolutely come back next time Im in the area!!
Fantastic staff! They have a wide selection of new and used vinyl and cds, all genres represented. I personally go for the metal section, which always has the latest releases. Used metal lps as well. Harvest also know how to run a record store day event, well organized and staffed. I always shop here and highly recommend this store to others. 5 stars.
Decent record store. But cheats you on buying records.
Harvest Records in West Asheville is rad. Theyve got (obviously) all kinds of vinyl, both new and used, as well as CDs and new and used stereo equipment plus books and DVDs and even some other stuff like new & used cassettes, 45s, and used 78s. If you love music you need to check this place out. If you want to get rid of your music collection they buy stuff and give you cash or store credit. The most recent time we were in there they had an art show going on and there were some photos shot on film hanging on the wall as well as some cool macrame plant hangers. Another cool part of the shop is the staff picks wall where you can see what other people are listening to and then check it out for yourself. I also really like the small-ish section that is devoted to the latest album from bands that are about to visit town. Last but not least you can get tickets to the Mothlight, Grey Eagle and Orange Peel (music and event venues in Asheville) at Harvest Records and save yourself a few bucks in fees.
Really can’t say enough good things about Harvest Records. Mark, Matt, and the rest of the staff always bend over backwards to answer questions or help you find something. Not only is the vinyl usually less expensive than you find online, but also sleeves, cartridges, and other accessories. These folks are in it for the right reasons and it shows.
Great selection. Scored a mint copy of a super rare Shitwind first pressing.
Great store! Fair prices, excellent selection, easy to shop. Love this place!!!
Great record store. Im a bit of a vinyl junkie, so I try to always hit a couple of record stores when I travel, and this is definitely one of the better ones. Pretty big selection, nice space and layout, and the people working there are friendly. And prices seemed reasonable.
Great place for all forms of music, especially vinyl.
Went for one record and bought 20 - best record shop in WNC🍻
These folks have always been a cornerstone to the revitalization of West Asheville. I bought records from time to time but just bought a record player and speakers from them. Proof that you shouldn’t shop at a big box store or Amazon. I had some issues connecting the two and they went out of their way to help me and showed me lots of features of my record player. Thanks! Buy local!
The best record store ever with the best owners
They’re so easy and fun to deal with virtually during COVID. I’ve been able to collect vinyl in ways that feel safe and socially distance. Awesome 👏🏻
Really cool shop, great selection with nice and helpful staff.
Love the place. Can spend hrs looking
They do a great job dealing with Covid-19 and public safety. Very informative and helpful staff.
Cool as hell, pretty large Metal selection
Excellent experience from begining to end. Staff were friendly and helpful, offered a quick tour of the store to kick off the visit. The selection of both used and new music is top notch. Prices are great along with the condition of the used records. Highly recommended as a must stop when in the Asheville area. Large selection of Jazz and Rock.
Amazing record store and awesome staff. Buy more records. Yep.
We just got into vinyl. Its nice to be able to browse their selection on their website. They offer appointment only visits during COVID but also curbside pick up. Friendly staff.
Best record/CD store in Asheville/WNC by far.. excellent selection for all music genre s
Item we wanted was in stock - thanksEasy online ordering!
Sold records, decent amount given for them.
Harvest Records has the best customer service Ive ever experienced! I happened to overhear that my husband special ordered a record SIX MONTHS AGO but wasnt able to pick it up. When I called Harvest Records not only did they still have the record but they offered to deliver it. And...they didnt just deliver it...they dropped it off with my husband and managed to keep the whole thing a secret! He had no idea who was dropping off the package and because it had my name on it he left it for me to open. Nice work guys!! He is so happy with his new tunes and you have gained a customer for life!
Great people who are super friendly and very knowledgeable about a wide variety of music genres. I appreciate how well theyve adapted and its apparent that they care for their employees and customers. The curbside service is great!
Super helpful staff!
They had two of the three really obscure records we were looking for, amazing.
Helpful staff and great selections.
Decent selection of vinyl!
Pretty awesome! They have a huge selection within many genres. I found a couple great selections and their vinyl is super clean. They seem to take great care to have great stock, there was a guy in the back cleaning some vinyl while I was there. If youre visiting Asheville and into into the hunt for some great vinyl I would highly recommend that you stop into Harvest.
Top notch staff. Friendly and covid-19 compliant with curb side puck up. Inventory available on their webpage.
The absolute best record shop in the area hands down. Excellent selection, wonderful staff and all around laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend
Great spot for music nicely curated selection at competitive prices.
A fun record store with an eclectic mix of selection! Not exactly mainstream or contemporary. You may just find that hard to find treasure there. Very well organized.
I no longer live in Asheville and God do I miss harvest. No other record store Ive been to has had the selection harvest does. Such a wide range and so many niche picks. Please if youre in Asheville dont take this place for granted. The grass is not always greener when it comes to record stores. Heed my warning.
Great Record store! Friendly and professional staff!
The coolest record store in Asheville! The folks are friendly and they 10/10 will have whatever you are looking for. Great selection and hard to find records. Harvest Records is the bees knees!
Best record store I have been in this side of Waterloo Records in Austin. Staff is very friendly and helpful - if they dont have it, theyll try to find it for you. I just wish I had more money to spend in here. The fresh vinyl section is stacked with goodies - I found Dylans Desire for $4.00 and I like how they have a section entitled 90s to Now. They were playing some pretty cool electronic music which I will pinch myself for not asking about. Downside is there is little to no parking in this area. Otherwise, great record store.
Staff was nice not all that helpful. Cool little shop overall. I went to sell items so I didnt really look around to shop but looked like alot of cool vinyls and other music related items. Its a nice little store to go look for old records. If Id had more time and wasnt busy I would have been more interested but didnt really have time to see what all they had.
On vacation from the Atlanta area. This record shop is one of the best I’ve ever set foot in. The most diverse selection. Will definitely be back in the future.
I had never really taken time to do a deep dive in this place. I did a quick browse-through on a date a number of years ago, but I finally had time to come here by myself and go through everything. There is a marvelous selection of vinyl, and much of it a fair prices. I came away with some treasures, and I will return next time I have some extra time and dollars. Way to go, independent record store Harvest Records!
Amazing selection of vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. The record selection is expansive, and organized really well. There is also some record players and speakers for sale. The used records are priced reasonably. They also buy records, if you are looking to slim your collection down. Always a stop on pay day to get some fresh records!
Excellent independent music retail store. Great used and new CDs and records. Eclectic choices. Great staff.
Great staff! Great selection! Reasonably priced considering it is a local owned business!
Excellent selection of music, and probably the best prices I have seen in the state. The store is well laid out and the folks working there were very helpful. Highly recommended!
Always a great experience. Always a great selection of imported black metal (which is always tough to find in a lot of shops besides just a few more popular releases.) Definitely worth the hour drive from Sylva to come to Harvest!
Nice shop! Music always great tho right! Regardless of the service they provide!
Best record shop in asheville, period. Huge selection on vinyl (very neatly displayed and labeled - making it easy find what youre looking for), CDs, and cassettes. They also sell used music equipment for fairly reasonable prices. They put out new stuff very often, and I have found many hidden gems here. Highly recommend.
A wide and varied collection of vinyl, CDs, and much more. New and used, this is the place to dig for treasure. Very nice store, and neatly organized. Easy to find your genre and spent all the time you want digging in the crates!
EXCELLENT, I have lived in walking distance of Harvest Records all my life. I am so glad to have such a fantastic store so close. I dont know who had a bad experience, because they have always been so polite and helpful to me, and Im sure Im old enough to be their mother!
WAS LOOKING FOR OLD CYPRESS HILL TODAY. WAS UNHAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE AND THE GENTLEMEN HERE WERE GRACIOUS ABOUT SEEING THAT I WAS HAPPY WITH MY FINAL PURCHASE
Great record store. Everything was in alphabetical order and easy to sort through. Very well organized. Nice selection of pre owned and new vinyl. I was pleasantly surprised at the obscure/underground/indie selections they had. Im giving four stars because of the ever present, often cliche, pretentious staff.
The only place in town that had the CD I was looking for. Also they didnt make fun of my prunciation of Raconteur.
Best record store in the state by far. Awesome selection and very reasonable price points. This place is unmatched.
Definitely worth a visit if you like vinyl and want to support the businesses selling them. Great vibe and collection
This record shop has a pretty nice setup and the prices are fair. I found a few gems here that are difficult to find and I didnt lighten my wallet too much in the process. The staff is cool and the selection is decent with most of the offerings organized by musical style, in alphabetical order. There is a nice mix of new vinyls and used vinyls as well as an area dedicated to recent acquisitions that is easy enough to thumb through. There is also a nice selection of CDs and tapes, used and new, organized just as well as the vinyl. Next time Im in Asheville Ill definitely spend some more time at Harvest Records flipping through their collection.
Good record store with a relaxed vibe and a nice hand-picked selection. There are some deals to be found, but you must scrounge for them, new items and vinyl are on the high side. A good selection of American genres, but not very deep picks for world or international styles of music
They really have a great selection of music, and it stretches across many genres. I especially like the 45 selections, as well as the 78s. Another plus, is that I can buy records sleeves, here, also, which I often need. Another plus, is the turntables with headphones they have set up, so you can listen and check out the used records before purchasing. Nice touch for customers.
Of the Holy Trinity of record stores that exists within Asheville, this is byfar the most expansive and serving to modern tastes. If you are a collector of new music, this is the place. If you have never collected before, this maybe the easiest place to start. The owner and employees are a fountain of patience and have always been kind to me in busy situations. There is also a selection of oldies, but the emphasis is on newer things. Did your record come with a defect? Theyll replace it or give you in store credit. You cant find a record youre looking for? Just ask and theyll search their catalogue and point you to it. They dont have it in stock? Theyll try to order it.
Great Record Store! Harvest has a fantastic selection of all genres of music both new and used vinyl. I found some gems while digging through some of their crates. They also sell some decent vintage receivers and record players. A definite stop if you are in Asheville.
Its been 20+ Years since visiting Asheville. This is exactly what a record store should be! Found some gems and other goodies the other day. Excellent selection of indie stuff and other genres. Staff is amazing too. Thank you Harvest Recs!
Best record store in Asheville. Diverse selection and great used prices.
Remarkable source for new and used music. The recoding studio has a great reputation.
Great curated selection, and fair prices for trade ins. Knowledgeable staff too!
One of the best record stores in existence run by some of the best people ever.
An Asheville record store. My fiance was in heaven. They even allowed my dogs inside. Very much like what youd expect in Asheville though. Great record store!!
Nice record store in W. Asheville. Not much of my fave genre available used, but clean and neat, decent prices, and quite a few unique albums.
Great selection of new & old, lots of smaller labels represent. Love it!
They always have exactly what I want and more. Harvest provides everything a person could want in a record store. Great staff, amazing selection, overall a great experience. Thanks Harvest Records!
Classic and vintage. Knowledgeable staff. Challenge them
This place has a great selection! If you cant find what youre looking for theyll take your number down and order it for you!Highly recommended!
Wonderful place to hang out and flip through albums new old used, and even including 45s.
Wide selection, great prices, and friendly people! Would highly recommend
One of the best priced shops Ive ever been to. Spend 100 to get a free tshirt!
Very Cool Record shop with a great feel! All of the employees are very helpful in helping you find what you need and always very nice, and Ive been buying records from them for 8 years.
Very cool record store. Great selection and atmosphere. We were bummed because we tried to go back a second time while staying in Asheville but they were closed.
The best place in town for new and used vinal!
Favorite record store in asheville. Keep an eye out for their basement sales - I swear half my collection comes from there. Hit them up on black Friday, record store day, and any other day.
This place has a huge selection, and is so conveniently located in W. Asheville. I cant wait to come back.
Recently moved to Asheville from Chicago and Harvest Records was, surprisingly, bigger and more stocked than most stores in Chicago. a fantastic place with an impressive selection of new and classic vinyl releases. pricing was also about as good as it gets. couches to chill on and friendly staff make this place a 10/10
You want it, they got it. Great record store.
Good selection, will order what they dont currently have in stock which is swell
Nice selections, clean and nice interior design. Had quite a strange mix of music blasting through the store but what can you do. Regardless, I would go there again.
Wonderful place. Tons of great vinyl. Picked up Black Messiah and To Pimp A Butterfly (the latter, alas, on CD).
What a store. The hottest records for miles around and the chillest vibes too. I heard the owner Marks got a cock as fat as a coke can. Respect
We are very lucky to have such an extraordinary record shop in Asheville. This place is a safe haven—full of all thats good in the world. Be sure to visit!
Awesome selection of most genres. If youre into vintage/specialty stuff you need to check this place out. They had a ton of rarities.
One of my favorite record stores in the country. Great selection of used modern records
Love this place. So many good records to choose from!
