Sarah at Gathered Bakeshop designed, created, and delivered our wedding cake to our venue in Astoria and we could not have been more impressed!She textured our cake icing, as well as decorated it to absolute perfection (sage green sugar crystals and dried greenery), and the chocolate and passion fruit curd cake itself was incredible. We could not have asked for a more delicious or beautiful cake for our wedding!

A very lovely and thoughtfully curated local store. They feature items from local artists, various sundries from local makers (hot sauce, chips, salsas, hummus, etc), a few produce items, and a very delicious assortment of baked goods. The pastries are surprising and innovative, like this French toast bread pudding/cake thing which was delicious and lightly sweet, or this incredible Asian pear tart.Staff was very welcoming and kind and helpful without being intrusive. I dont know how to describe the customer service style but maybe genuine is the right word. It just doesnt feel forced or overly cheerful, it feels really real and nice. We really liked this space even though its slightly strange because you cant really do your grocery shopping there and its not quite a souvenir or gift shop or art gallery or a full fledged bakery... its like a little mishmosh of everything.

It’s been really difficult fitting in to a new community moving from across the country. I’ve been to a few bake shops in the area and none compare to this place. Their customer service is amazing and I felt so welcomed here. Also, they have gluten free and vegan options that are divine. Thank you people of this business for making this place my new favorite bake shop in town. I am very fond of sweets and kind people.

I cant say enough good things about the piece of cake I had from Gathered.It just so happened that we were in the neighborhood and stopped by. I had heard about Gathered, but had not planned to visit that day.I am so glad I did.The chocolate passion fruit cake was to die for. Its something I am still thinking about daily! Rarely is there a bakery that knows when to say when on sugar. This bakery is clearly one of them and I cant wait to come back soon.

Gathered Bakeshop & Market provided our wedding cake this summer and it was a huge hit!! The chocolate buttermilk passionfruit curd cake is what dreams are made of. Sarah is a true artist and all her cakes are almost too pretty to eat (but they are delicious so dont skip that part!). As a bride, out of all the things youll be trying to juggle with your wedding - I recommend you give her total creative control, give her the details she asks for, and she will completely surpass your Pinterest expectations. Sarah was professional yet easy going, and you can tell just by looking at the uniqueness of her cakes that she really cares about her clients and the vision they have for their special occasion.

What a lovely bake shop. The cake I ordered was absolutely perfect and gorgeous. Every care was taken to make something beautiful. The cake would already be a 5 star, but then I had an additional baked good that was just divine. Im really looking forward to visiting Gathered every time Im in town in the future. What a special and wonderful business.

Takes about a week toake a cake but there premade stuff is great I recommend getting cakes here

I love all things hot, and this shop is definitely hot and spicy! I love knowing I can walk downtown, get a beer, a bottle of hot sauce, and a sweet treat that cant be beat. A Great selection of produce too! For those that like to shop, cook, and greet your neighbor daily, this is the place! Best local neighborhood market this side of the Mississippi River.

Not only does Gathered sell local goods, fruits, vegetables and baked goods, but their staff is incredible. I had a baked goods emergency and Shana was so helpful with solving my dilemma. I left laughing, with a copious amount of treats and a smile on my face.If you need a delicious and beautiful cake for any occasion, order from Gathered. Youre supporting local, wonderful people while getting amazing treats.

Super cute market with produce and few staples. We were here for the frickin beautiful and delicious baked goods. They had maybe a dozen different items that day, we tried like 5 and they were all extremely good. The slice of cake was great. And the drip coffee was good too.

The best cake and baked goods of my life. Better than anywhere in San Francisco, Portland, or Paris, all places Ive eaten baked goods in statistically significant quantities. High quality ingredients that support the environment, local producers, and your health. And they were lovely to talk with. NB: Theyre not heavy handed with sugar; this is not your place if you prefer uber sweet treats.

This slice of cake I bought was the best decision (amongst many solid ones) that I made all day. It was incredible! I also picked up a bottle of Pineapple / Szechuan Pepper drinking vinegar (sooo good) and excellent drinks. What a gem this place is!

Full disclosure - Im friends with the folks that run this shop.This place has a little bit of everything. Fresh baked goods. Coffee. Grab and go sandwiches. Local veggies, dairy, and alcohol. Pantry items. Sundry items. I recently bought a plant there. Its location downtown makes it a great stop for locals who just need a quick item or folks passing through.

Really awesome little market, especially when you’re vacationing in the area and forgot an essential or just need a little snack. The best part was the (vegan and gf!!) baked goods. One of the best slices of cake I’ve had in years ☺️

We purchased our wedding cake from Gathered. This delicious salted caramel cake was wonderful! They are reasonably priced and they even stored the cake until a few hours before we needed to pick it up! We love going to the store for tea, coffee, and flowers!

We had some fantastic cake and pastries and some fabulous coffee and tea. Very friendly service along with high quality product. What more can you ask for?

What caught my attention was my partner told me there were organic snacks in this coffee shop/ market and went in for a a refill of coffee and the people who work there are such a kind spirited people that keeps me coming back and their Vegan GF Peanut Butter Cookies, and macaroons are just so good. I highly recommend.

This is such a perfect Market and bakery for our Downtown Astoria neighborhood, and Sara’s pastries are absolutely stunning and flavorful, and her partner Andy is always so helpful and friendly. Welcome to the neighborhood!
