They did an amazing job overhauling my 119,xxx mile Porsche 911. Amazing and timely work at a reasonable price. Felipe, the shop owner/manager, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a true enthusiast. I cannot recommend German Performance enough regardless of what car car bring them !

I was able to make the appointment on the day and time I requested. Although this was just an oil change and a few filter replacements, the work was done exactly on time and at a cost significantly less than what I would have paid at the BMW dealership. I am definitely mechanically challenged, but Bryan answered my questions very clearly. I definitely recommend German Performance without reservations.

I took it in. They diagnosed it for free which was surprising because the place before I took it here said it would cost 187$ per hour just to diagnose it. They diagnosed it and found out the problem(s) in a short amount of time. Told me what I should mainly get done, since money is tight. They weren’t trying to scam me of my money. And they fixed the problem(s) perfectly.

Good Morning Everyone...So, some of you may have experienced what I have in the past with an auto repair shop. Yes, your car comes back worse than it was AND they want more money...leaving you broke & with trust issues. Now you have to choose a different auto repair shop because your car wasnt fixed right & it came back with a NEW oil leak!!Well, thats where I was before I met Brian & Bob at German Performance!!I have a Volkswagen GTI, Turbo, 6 speed, its my Other baby!! It was right before Memorial Day weekend & My clutch went out!! The shop I usually go to was fully booked Beyond two weeks, so I started making phone calls!I called German Performance & spoke with Brian. He was very professional & quite easy to talk to.. I told him the clutch went out in my car & the place I usually go to wasnt available. I also told him that I had trust issues about bringing my car to somebody else, & to please bear with me...He laughed & said go ahead & bring it on down. He said that he would take a look at it first & let me know what all needed to be done.It turned out to be A lot more than just my clutch! It was also my water pump & my Radiator had a small hole in it which was A LOT BIGGER than I was told by another shop!! Though it took a little longer because of Memorial Day Weekend, my experience overall is that...I would DEFINITELY recommend Brian at German Performance to my friends, family & anyone whos reading this now!I got my car back & it runs better than it ever has!! Bob is very skilled & meticulous as an auto mechanic!! What also impressed me was that I asked them to save my parts, ya know, Trust issues...When I got there Brian & Bob showed me EVERYTHING I needed to Know & See!! Every single time I take my Audi Q7 in for service. The staff is polite, willing to answer questions and give me an estimate of cost and the time it will take. Their service is spot on. They go above and beyond to make sure your vehicle is safe, runs properly and if youre close enough theyll pick up and deliver your vehicle. They have certified mechanics for foreign made cars which is a plus. Id recommend them to anyone for any automobile service or repairs.

PHENOMENALI have owned German performance cars since 1972 and have had them serviced by only the best German mechanics in Southern California. When we moved to the Central Coast 10+ years ago I continued to drive south for service, for fear of making a mistake with the bad choice of a mechanic here.I followed the online reviews and asked my friends about their experiences but never felt comfortable enough to try a new mechanic. I took our 2015 Mercedes Benz ML 359 to German Performance for the first time yesterday. It was due for a 40000 mile service. They were courteous, professional and price for service was reasonable.I plan to return their for future services. However they are unable to do warranty work.

Felipe was quick to respond to my needs and showed some love by putting on my diffuser. Definitely recommended for any work or advice👌

Brian always gets me in on an appointment as soon as he can. I give Bob, the mechanic, an A+ because he diagnosed and fixed multiple leaks on my Audi that I didn’t know about. Now I feel like it drives great.

Ive been taking my BMW to shops convenient to where I live, or who my family recommends etc- but after my last experience, Its been decided that my BMW will now only go to German Performance. Other shops see a variety of cars- and sometimes BMWs- but they really dont know, or understand the car specifically. The last shop I went to for a smog told me theres no way my car was going to pass- They tried a couple of things, and for three weeks, and several more visits to the shop, I was stressing out, wondering what I was going to do, as my registration was running out. I decided to get a second opinion and came here- after a quick once-over, they could not determine why it would not pass. I took it across the street to a smog station, and sure enough- it passed! Three weeks of freaking out over nothing! My car needed some routine service done- so back it went. The work was completed in a day- and for a BMW- was not a heart-stopping amount of money. Everyone at the shop is really nice and willing to stop what they are doing to help or answer questions. When it comes to my BMW, my peace of mind, and knowing it will get done right- it will only be serviced by German Performance in the future!

Had normal servicing today. Went very well. They also helped me install a new (old) hardtop on my convertible. Really enjoyed their great support.

This was my first visit to Ricks German Performance. Very well satisfied with my experience. I provided some of my own new parts and this was not a problem with them. They were willing to work with me on various aspects of this visit and seem to be willing to do the same on future work. My vehicle is an older Mercedes Sports Car that I am not restoring, but having put back into more of an original condition.

These guys really know their business! Ive taken my Volvo and my Mercedes to this shop for several years and have never been disappointed.

I had my 2007 BMW 530i (e60) in for transmission fluid change, transmission pan/filter change and brake fluid flush and change. I brought in the trans pan and the genuine ZF transmission fluid myself that I had purchased previously, and the guys at German did the service. This is the second time I’ve had this car worked on at German Performance and the work was done quickly and effectively, at a reasonable price. I will be back when I need next service.

Rick and Brian took a bad situation and turned it into an excellent experience. They did not rush me out the door but took all the time that they needed to get to the bottom of a tough diagnoses. I was so impressed with their thorough diagnosis that I knew that their recommendation was the best thing I could do for my car and peace of mind. Rick even provided my wife with his own car as a loaner while ours was in his shop. Rick is very empathetic to his customers and provided me with the best possible service and was mindful of the price. I cannot speak highly enough of their service.

We live in Atascadero but took our MB E-350 to a big shop in SLO whenever it needed service. Invariably they found a little this or that that brought our costs up over $400 per visit. A couple years ago I tried German Performance here in town and we couldnt be happier. They provide great service and note items requiring work but always share the expected life remaining in systems. For instance, the SLO shop said we needed to do the brakes 3 years ago. We didnt bite and German Performance checked them last year and again 2 weeks ago. Front still have about 60% life and rear about 15% life remaining. They also shared that a light will come on when its time to work on the brakes. These guys deserve a pat on the back for honesty!

Having recently moved to Atascadero I needed to find a independent Mercedes mechanic. I was more than pleased to find German performance. Not only are the mechanics Mercedes-Benz certified, Brian at the front desk is extremely personable and judging from the repeat clientele that came and went during my short visit, I’m confident I will be coming back.

Rick’s take great care of our company car. With their help our Model Year 2000 Beetle has made it to over 400,000 miles and is still going strong. Good customer service and good communication. The job is always done right the first time.

Awesome, prompt service! Brought my 2004 Jetta in for a 1pm appt. to replace the oil dip stick tunnel. I had other business in Atascadero, and arrived a full hour ahead of schedule. Bryan asked if I was going to hang out, which I was, then he promptly rolled my car into the shop, and put a technician right on it. I was out of there in 20 minutes! What a great experience from the first call to the last. My older VW Jetta needed a need ignition cylinder and the pricing and quality from Ricks was far superior to the dealership. They even changed the oil on the same visit even though it was not part of the original appointment. My wife told me her 11 year old car is driving like new and purring like a kitten. I recommend Ricks highly to anyone who needs service or repair!And...by the way...they were all very nice and patient with someone who knows very little about cars.

I tried to do a coolant flush on my 02 Audi and managed to produce more problems than I had previously, right before a long trip. I came to Ricks while I was heading north on my trip when the problems started. They helped me diagnose the issue and although I couldnt get the work done at the time, they were very friendly and helpful. They found time to do diagnostics and explain it to me. Made my day even though I couldnt get it fixed right then.

Have had major repairs done here 3 times. They communicate clearly. This last time, there was an elbow joint that disintegrated when they removed a part to get at another area. They could have just replaced the whole part, but they went out of their way to go just get the elbow replaced, saving us over $100. Totally trust these guys!

These guys can fix almost anything. Ive gone there three times and they have fixed some serious problems; even one problem a different auto shop couldnt even figure out. My only ding is that they dont do smoke checks. Otherwise, they would be my one stop shop for everything.
