Stopped in Staples in Athens on Thursday Sept 23 around 3:30 PM to possibly get an office desk and office chair. I found the chair that I wanted and was looking at desks but noticed several did not have any prices on them. Just then, a younger man, early 20s, asked if I needed help and I asked about a couple of desks. He looked up the ones I asked about and started telling about their warranty program. I cant remember the specifics because honestly I wasnt paying much attention as I dont get warranties anyway. I asked about one desk that had a couple of scratches on it as to if they had any more in stock. He said no, that was the only one. He then said that if I liked it, I should get it as it would be free with the warranty program. I said, what? He said, Yea thats the nice thing about the warranty that if within the first 30 or 60 days, or somewhere around there, I could file a claim, and they would replace the desk, plus refund all the money that I paid for the desk. I looked at him and said, But wouldnt that kind of be dishonest since I would be buying it knowing it had the scratches already on it? He said no, that was the good thing about getting the warranty. I said, Well why dont you just give me the desk for free then. He said, Oh we cant do that, we would lose money. With the warranty program we dont lose money, just the insurance company does. I looked at him and said no thanks. He said, You could save some money. I said, Not that way, and just turned and walked out of the store. Will not be back in the Athens Staples store. I hope people in other Staples stores are not as under handed and dishonest as this fellow was.
Customer service is seriously lacking. Tried to make an address stamp on their computer. Staples, if you want the customer to create their own stamp then it must be user friendly. After asking for assistance for the second time and receiving instruction again, I asked if would be faster if he could just fill the address information for me. He said they were time based and really didn’t have the time to do that. You don’t have time to type 3 lines of font for a return address? The other departments seem to be well staffed however the copy and ink department... don’t waste your time.
Sadly they will be closing.
The staff was awesome. They did not have the desk I wanted in stock so they called other stores until they found it. I would definatly recommend them to everyone.
Never have I been in a business that the employees go well beyond their job to take such good care of their customers. I have made two trips to the Staples in Athens Tenn in 24 hours to get simple copies printed. My mistake of my copy caused a blur reprint. Marcus, the gentleman that took care of my prints made sure I got quality prints. He went well beyond what I would have ever expected him to do. Thank you Staples and a great big Thank you to Marcus for your help and kind service. Staples is lucky to have an employee that is interested in the quality of work he puts into his job for Staples.
I am always very pleased with this staples location. Well stocked with all my needs and the staff is always very helpful when I need them to be. They do not hesitate to help you, more importantly they give you the space to browse and shop. Many thanks.

Cashier was not very friendly. She did not smile, once, during the 3 times I encountered her during my visit. I use this Staples for most of my personal business and have never encountered this before. I also wanted to update my email for receipts and asked which option I needed to push and instead of answering, she turned the screen on the device around and pushed the button like I was not able to do it on my own. Her customer service skills could have been better.
Wanted several copies b&w one side. They only had one copier working. The girl was polite but person attempting to use the copier could not figure it out. We 20 minutes. No one checked on us. People were stacking up. We left with out our copies.
I was forced to make a copy at self copy and put 13 cents on my debit card. What a waste. The store is absolutely nasty.
I dont remember his name, but a really cute black kid waited on me. He was very professional & eager to help me. I left happy!
Terrible customer service. Because of cashiers mistake i was charged twice for office furniture. Was assumed at the of sale that on charge would be deleted. 2 days later both charges are on bank account. First call to correct and was told that it was my banks problem and they would have to correct Second call spoke with manager who claimed he would look into and call me back He did not. When I called him again he claimed to have called and left me a message. No message was left. He then informed me that it would take as much as 5 business days to remove charge. In the mean time staples will hang on to my money. Will not be doing any more business with them

Wanted to purchase some office supplies. Got to the check out line and there was 6 people ahead of me. Line wasnt moving. I laid my stuff down and left the store. Went back 2 days later and my items were still laying right where I had put them down.
I have had a horrible time with Staples this past year. I have been planning my wedding and ordering signs and such through Staples. First, they make the two signs I bought two different shades of blue. The young lady happily fixed it for me. Second, I get the next group of signs and they are scratched. I brought that to their attention and they provided me with a free stamper rather than remake the signs. Which I was also okay with, but beginning to get annoyed at the constant mistakes within 6 months time. Finally, the first set of signs I bought needed frames. I went to purchase designed frames from somewhere and one of the signs do not fit the frame!! Staples Copy & Print gave me a 22x33 instead of a 24x36. (A random frame size that is going to be impossible to find unless customized) I am just now noticing because I just now found the perfect frames. I get married in 11 days. So Im not even taking them back. Im just done with Staples in Athens as a whole. Absolutely careless and ridiculous.

Opened promptly at 9. Didnt have the color ink for my printer; only the black.
Cant answer simple question like what is your outgoing fax #. It was critical that I know the number so the receiver could search or it. I was told wrong number over phone and when I went there in person. Clueless

I waited in line for 20 minutes to pay for a fax I had sent. It wasnt busy but it took two employees to check out one person ahead of meAfter 20 minutes they decided to open a second register. If I had somewhere else I could fax from I wouldnt go back.

$.49 per copy even if i do it myself... Then I have to ask for a receipt then the young lady advises me I must stand in line again to even get a receipt. So my question is Staples how much would it cost me if one of your employees actually touched a piece of paper that I walked in with absolutely ridiculous $0.54 with tax all together for one copy when I can go to Office Depot and actually get them to make it for me for $0.14 absolutely dumbest thing ever
