We go here for the ice cream and milkshakes. Theyre always super friendly in here and understanding when my boys change their minds in the midst of ordering. The milkshakes are delicious and my kids love having the option of candy milkshakes or cereal milkshakes.

This is easily one of my favorite lunch places in the area if not entire southeast area. Their sandwiches are the best and the environment is relaxing and hometown feeling as well. I make a point to come here each time Im in town and their Black Forest ham sandwich is the absolute best!

From out of town and wanted to try a smaller, hole-in-the-wall place that had really good reviews, but unfortunately…First impression was made notable by terrible attitude of staff. No personality, monotone, and serious attitude about having to do their job- like they hate their life and prefer to be anywhere but there. Secondly, food was not great…was definitely frozen food heated up rather quickly..upset our stomachs. Chocolate ice cream in milkshake is bland, and the strawberry milkshake is way too sweet..like cotton candy..not fruity and tangy like strawberry. Would not recommend.

My son and I went for the first time and got the rolled ice cream (cookie butter, and cookies and cream). It was fantastic! The owners were so friendly; taking the time to explain the ice cream options, the history of their store, and more. We certainly will be back!

This place was on a different plane of existence when it comes to restaurants. People need to be more aware of this restaurants chosen one stature. The sandwich i ordered was just a sneak peak of the heavenly selection of items on the extensive menu. The ice cream was the perfect way to seal off my meal. And the service i received from a young man named Brady was just outstanding. Will definitely return.

Was out of pretty much everything. Sent out a burnt grilled cheese, a sandwich with nothing that it said it came with it on it. Three girls working that couldnt bother to mop the sticky floor. They are looked miserable and bothered to be working.

Best quality Ive had in the city. Shrimp salad wrap couldnt be fresher. The pasta side salad was delicious. Great service and the Strawberry Nutella ice cream roll was awesome- too much- but how could I refuse at $.49!! Love this place and will be back very soon.

Half of the menu was not available. The menu itself was very limited and only had one option for vegetarians. The vegetarian option consisted of a shredded cheese mixed with mayonnaise with lettuce and tomato. Being a vegetarian for over 30 years that was the first time I ever ate anything like that. It was quite bizarre. The other sandwiches in my group were also small for the 9 and 10 dollar prices that were charged. No one in my group liked there sandwiches....nor would ever return. The people were friendly that worked there. Im scratching my head as to why this has such a high rating. Might be because theyre the only sandwich shop in town ... I dont know.

Most of the menu was not available. The 2 chicken breast sandwich was $9.00+ was horrible, greasy and cold. VERY Overpriced!! The sandwich came within 3 minutes, this wasnt cooked! The sides offered was ridiculous in choice. I would not recommend this deli to my greatest enemy. 👎 My grandson said his sandwich didnt look right and had to have his dad look at it in the sunlight. Save yourself!

Went there last night and had the Italian sandwich, my wife had the NELI. All the food was excellent and we can see this being a regular date night spot for us.

The $12 lobster roll with a side tasted good. The cafe was clean and the staff was friendly.After eating with my eyes first, i was disappointed. It didnt look like $12. It is made with real lobster so it definitely satisfied my seafood craving.

I thought this place was great, but its horrible. The first time I ate here with my boyfriend the food was fine, but the second time he got food poisoning from their undercooked hamburger meat. They didnt even have hamburger buns or the soup of the day in stock, and the best tasting part of our meal were the soda machine drinks. Dont eat here if you dont want to spend six hours throwing up. Terrible food.

I live in Knoxville and visit Athens every few weeks. I usually have lunch at Maddi Mae’s. Mainly this is because of the lobster roll, which I enjoy and was surprised to find in a small town. I’m not sure where I’d get one in Knoxville. The lobster Meat is good. They dress it lightly with mayo And that’s about it so the meat speaks for itself. Availability is seasonal so while it’s available I pretty much stick to Maddi Maes when I’m in town.
