Best Place we have ate in Atlanta . I had the Shimp and grits and i cant Express how wonderful this Dish is, my son and girlfriend had the Pan Fried chicken ( only available on Sunday and Wednesday) with Mac and cheese... they loved it ! My mouth is still watering thinking about how great the Shrimp and Grits are .
This is what you should call a finer diner. It looks glitz on the outside and inside is classic early 20th century. I had a chef special, veal meatballs and spaghetti with a glass of cool wine. Exactly what I needed. Friendly service and an obvious family favourite. A bit out of the centre, but my recommend for anyone visiting Atlanta.
Go ahead and erase the word diner from the forefront of your mind. Only the exterior is the representation of what many consider a diner. However, it is an upscale diner-so remember that if you choose to visit. Parking can be tricky at peak times but there is also valet, I don’t believe they could take cards so bring cash. The atmosphere is dark and classy. I’m mostly a single diner, and they have nice seating for single diners. The unwritten dress code is business casual or nicer it seems. The actual waitress and bartender that served me were amiable. The hosts, on both occasions seemed a bit thrower off by me. I’m not sure if I was in the right spot for me. However, the food was pretty good. I’ve visited this place twice, not quite sure if I’d go back. Thank you for the great waitress and bartender!
Atlanta tradition! This well know diner has been serving the area for nearly 30 years. The service is always above par although there can be a wait at peak times. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable in a traditional diner style. It features all the diner fair that one would expect with an upscale presentation and delicious taste. Specials are often a good choice. Several local craft beers are served or your choice of cocktail. A favorite appetizer is the Warm Blue Cheese Chips. Are you kidding me with the White Chocolate Banana Cream pie, cant go wrong here, a must have! There is also a menu for the Little Diner for age 12 and under. Local or a visitor you should try this place if you havent.
Great place to stop and eat. A lot of great actors and athletes have walked these Halls. The menu is a tad bit on the high side but worth every bite. With all these good reviews it should get five stars, right? I cannot give a full five stars only because waiting for checks at the end of service took extremely long. I had a Bus full of seniors who had to wait patiently on the bus and some who were still sitting at their tables waiting on checks. It could have just been the time of day but for a group that large we should have had more than one person helping on that side of the business. Aside from that I would recommend this place as something to check out.
$$+ Typical Buckhead pricing for eats. What was neither typical nor anticipated was the high quality food, the exemplary service of the waitstaff and the atmosphere inside. So, if you are thinking diner when you see the place as your driving around, dont let that stop you from enjoying one of Buckheads finest eating establishments. We went here for the first time when the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group gave of a $25 gift card. We have been back 3 more times after that.Great food and service at a reasonable price. The ambiance is very cool.This is the least expensive Buckhead Life Restaurant, The Fish Market comes in a close second.
My two sons and I love dining at the famous Buckhead Diner whenever we visit Atlanta.Buckhead Diner is just minutes from Lenox Mall in Buckhead Community that never sleeps.My family really does enjoy eating the best-fried chicken in Atlanta at Buckhead Diner.They have amazing kid’s menu, my youngest son likes the Little Diner’s menu with flash fried chicken fingers.The best pastry chefs in the world are working at Buckhead Diner, they have a dessert menu that is mind blowing.My favorite desserts are their famous white chocolate banana cream pie and their peaches & cream custard.
After a not so good time at Rosatis restaurant😐, my family saw this place on Atlanta eats and decided to give it a run. We didnt order much due to leaving Rosatis. Once we arrived our greeter took us to our table. We met our waitress and was given our menus. I ordered my family milkshakes🍧 and I got the original blue 🧀cheese chips. While waiting for our food, we had complimentary bread🥖. Were also were delightfully entertained by the 🃏magician. He actually brightened our mood😁. I felt like a little🙎🏽♂️ kid as he did trick after trick. We came to the conclusion that we shouldve dined in here in the first place. 👌🏼We DEFINITELY will be back! 🤙🏾

Bring back Buckhead Diner! This is my go to place. The crab cakes are the best in Atlanta, even sister Chops doesnt make them as good. I need crab cakes!!!
I loved this place. What a gem. When my coworkers picked it for our meeting in Buckhead, I didnt have high hopes. I cant stop thinking Waffle House vibe when you say diner. Ha! Was I wrong! Best diner food, ever! Which explained the higher prices!I had the famous pear martini. Delicious. The lemon drop didnt do it for me. Skip that.The blue cheese chips are absolute crack, especially after two of those pear martinis. Our table devoured them! The deviled eggs and egg rolls werent stars, but they were good! And I asked for some of those mini corn potatoes to go. Dont judge me.My steak was huge and perfection. I was only able to eat half ... and I happily destroyed the other half the next day. I dont know what they put in those potatoes (by the time the menu came I was tipsy), but let me tell you, they were soooo good! Been thinking about them ever since!Our table ordered a variety of desserts. I can tell you that the coffee cake and chocolate cake were slam dunks for me, though nobody complained about any of them.Im actually not a fan of the Buckhead area. The congestion drives me nuts, but if Im ever in the area during dinner time, I would absolutely come back.
This is one of my go to restaurants. The Buckhead Diner makes one of the best tasing burgers- ask for medium. The fries are thin, crisp and delish. All the dishes Ive tried have been prepared with fresh ingredients, prepared perfectly for each individual item and I have taken pictures of the presntation it is so beautiful. Destiny in the bar is welcoming along with all the staff. Mike is the new manager and he is brinigng new life to the upscale diner. Valentines day included a dj and a magician to make it extra special and engaging. Reservations are encouraged at prime times.
I hadnt been here for a while and went recently for a work dinner. It was a great spot with lots of options for everyone. I love the old school dinner feel but classy. Everyone in white tuxes. Chrome and red leather. Lots of history.I had the special...ramen! Great broth. Nice skirt steak. Loved the mushrooms! Egg for added creaminess!
I came here for my birthday and will never forget how good the food was. Great quality and selection of different types of food.
Excellent dining experience, the lump crab cake appitizer was delicious. Next, I had the Reuben sandwich, very tasty. Last, for the pièce de resistance, the white chocolate banana Creme pie, it was as I remembered it, so tasty, well worth driving all the way into Buckhead just for this one treat!Amen!
A fav place for quality american food. I give this spot a thumbs up. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. This place has a nice feel to it. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.
The Buckhead Diner was a magic find, we were not disappointed at all. It combines Art Deco surroundings with 21st century amazingly tasty food. Our server was really attentive and the shrimp tacos and ID milk shakes are to die for. We would definitely recommend. What a wonderful oasis to find in a busy modern city. A big pat on the back to all the staff.
My husband and I spent a weekend in Atlanta recently-we lived there before the Olympics, and dont get back very often. We decided, out of convenience, to revisit Buckhead Diner which was new when we first moved to the city. Its still pretty darned shiny, but it wasnt the food as much as the incredibly over the top excellence of service provided by Sean, our server. We were not rushed, which is what wed requested, he split plates for us, made great recommendations, and was always available and present when we needed him. Charming and funny, he made the food better. Nothing ruins a meal like bad or average service. The shortcake for dessert was by far the most special piece of the meal food-wise, but it was Sean who made our visit memorable. .We would come back for him and his service alone. We were planning on finding a hole in the wall breakfast place, but found out that the Diner served brunch and that Sean would be serving. We changed our plans and came back for brunch on Sunday before we drove back to Birmingham. I hope that the owners know what a talented and hard-working employee they have in him. Made us sad that we arent closer. Really made the weekend special.
Food was very good as was the service, and the price was not too high for the neighborhood. I would tell you our servers name as I usually do, both so that management and you the readers of this review would know who gives great service...but she never told us her name...Otherwise, everything was five star...but, it is important for a server to introduce her/himself to establish a personal connection with the customer-at least with this customer. Didnt happen...she must have been raised north of Mason-Dixon!All food was quite good, including its amazing sticky toffee cake.
This is a tier above diner food, and the price reflects that. Im satisfied with places like Marietta Diner, but if youre craving more, this is the place for you.

Went here before a party for the first time and everything was perfect! Our waiter was very personable and attentive, even going as far as to make some Star Wars references once he noticed the theme of my clutch. The food was delicious and the portions were well worth the price. I would suggest people treat themselves to the free muffins that are offered and try an alcoholic milkshake!
If you are in town, this is one of the places to visit to get some upscale comfort food. Set up a reservation as it can get busy for dinner. All parking is valet and is not free. The fish is great and definitely order the blue cheese chips. The cocktails are also great here.
This has been a neighborhood staple for years . This is fine dining diner style. Every thing you can image is on the menu. The food is well prepared and service is fast and excellent even when it’s extremely busy. Whenever you need basic American favorite meals, come here to enjoy them with a classic upscale twist. Classy establishment.
I havent eaten here in many, many years. I decided to stay in Buckhead for Valentines and try out the Buckhead Diner. As always. Great food. And they have really good coffee also. I wish they would sell it. But they dont. My friend had the Chilean Sea Bass. Which is really great. I had the Veal meatloaf. Very tasty as well. Ive been to this restaurant and various times of the day or night. No matter what. Great food and great service. I used Open Table which helped me get seated much more quickly. Hardly had time to have a cocktail at the bar.
Buck head Diner’s food is great! I also met some great people there at the bar prior to the pandemic. 😊
The restaurant was very beautifully decorated for Christmas. When I went, it was busy, but we still got seated pretty quickly, and served quickly. The seafood we all ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly. Only thing I would have preferred differently was that shortly after our appetizers came, our food came right out. (A bit too quickly because we didnt even finish our apps)

The locals love this spot its a gem to a lot of people, I wanted to be one of those people. I visited this restaurant with a dear friend because we heard about the amazing food. The staff was very nice and inviting truly. We got seated and we noticed a strong smell, so we asked if we could be moved to the opposite end of the restaurant and we did. The problem was the overall odor inside the eatery it was overwhelming from all locations but the front door. The fishy odor was so grossly unappetizing we could not eat nor drink our tasty cocktails. Our waiter said the odor would subside but unfortunately for us it did not. We had a lovely waiter he did apologies for the smell. Like we said it wasnt his doing. I might return to this location later in the weeks to give it another try, hopefully that odor issue will be resolved.
Usually a great place. They are struggling since covid19. They are doing the best they can. It is clean and safe. Not a full menu, so if you come for a particular item, call ahead to see if it’s on the menu.

A local took me (an out-of-town visitor) here, and what a great choice it was! The menu had great variety, from comfort food to unique cuisine. Delicious main course and dessert. Service was superb. Prices push the envelope, but not obscenely so. Look at my other reviews to see that I dont easily impress like this.
Delicious food, great customer service and valet parking, YES! This is not your standard diner, be prepared for fine dining! I had a taste for fried chicken and the chef prepared it perfectly; it was well seasoned, crisp on outside and juicy on inside. I also had sauteed kale and asked for mushrooms to be added and oh my Lord, I could have eaten a pot of that kale! If you are in or visiting Atlanta-Buckhead, you must dine here.

Love this restaurant! Fun Atlanta staple, with American food. Fun milkshakes (ones with alcohol too) and full bar. Awesome appetizers and salads, main dishes and sandwiches. Known for their amazing banana pie, really tasty!
I have always loved this place, but on this visit service was lacking, though food was wonderful. No server at our table for 15 minutes and until we asked. Then one server for water and then no server. Then a different server 10 minutes later for drinks and ordering. Good came and was good, then our server disappeared again. Asked twice for some sauce for one of our dishes, and we got two different sauces from to servers and neither was correct. Then our server disappeared for another 20 minutes while we were asking for our check. Very disappointing.
Buckhead Diner is where the those with discretionary money go to splurge on upscale fried classics. Service is always top notch. The atmosphere is classy diner, but it is feeling somewhat dated circa mid-90s. Nearly every dish will please if you ignore the dollar amount. Best experience for a late dinner or late night out, as it closes midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Property EXCEPTIONAL in appearance and condition. Staff was 5 star. Service by Ryan extraordinary. We wanted for nothing it was there before even thinking to have to about what was needed or wished for.The food outstanding plentiful hot well prepared and presented. Priced extremely fair for venue and fare. We will return and recommend to all.
Blue cheese chips, deep fried oysters, sweet chili calamari and veal meat loaf. Yummy! The waiter, Brian, who’s worked their forever is the classic mildly abusive but totally helpful southern waiter. He takes it and gives it punch for punch. Made for a great time.
I enjoyed the CBS Burger and the fries were good but I took it to go. I was seated in front and the air conditioning was on when it was 40 degrees outside. It was too cold to even stay. So I switched my order to go. It was extremely too cold for me. I has a Kashmir full-length coat on. It be there for over 30 years. I might give it a go again. Just dont get the first table unless you are a polar bear. Icy blizzard
Not your typical diner. Food is outstanding and service is white glove. More like a fine dining establishment than a diner. Try the meatloaf served with green beans and sauteed carrots in butter with mashed potatoes. Top notch.

Excellent Atmosphere, Service and Food at a great location in Buckhead!! On my recent, and only visit so far, the Crab Cakes were highly recommended, did not disappoint, and were indeed to die for along with the 4 layer chocolate cake. But, Im sure their extensive menu includes many other delectable dishes that I plan to sample on my return visits when I am in the Atlanta area.
Essence is a very good server. Great service and a great personality. She made great recommendations. The grilled chicken sandwich on the pretzel bun was very good. My wife had the sticky muffin for her dessert and really like it.
Parked my own car but attended still wanted $2 to park in their lot. Guy came to give us water and ran out after 3 of 4 glasses and said he would be back but never came. Crab cake as appetizer was very good. Ordered 3 burgers and 1 pretzel chicken. Waited a very long time for the meal during mid day when it was very light customer traffic. At one point waitress said it was one more minute. 12 minutes later here it comes but one burger comes without cheese and all are cooked medium well when one was supposed to be medium. To be honest these burgers tasted like they came from frozen Bubba burgers and were not very good. These were advertised as gourmet burgers with brisket and beef, but no where close to that. Manager came over to ask how everything was and we said service and food was subpar and he apologized. Waitress then offered a piece of banana cream pie for free but declined. Have to say we were very disappointed in both service and food quality overall and probably won’t ever come back.a real shame as this place was more a 4+ star place for us many years ago when we came.

Impeccable service.... Very friendly and helpful staff from greeting at the entry til my departure.... Wait staff hustled and shared duties so everything arrived timely and hot, glasses and cup were never empty... Shrimp and grits were outstanding... Large shrimp cooked just enough to be done and still tender and juicy... The tasso ham and gravy really sets off the mix of flavors.... Excellent brunch.....
Our server was the best. We had just walked up the street to the diner on a whim only to find Senior prom dates filling the restaurant. The kitchen and wait staff were very conscientious attending to other guests making a potentially riotous evening out tame, fun in the midst of senior high school students. Food was fresh and well seasoned.

Okay, I know you are thinking it says Diner, but this is not like the other diners scattered around Greater Atlanta. Dont be mistaken... I love those places as well, but this is a great establishment with good food and awesome service. Is it pricey ... yeah... ; Is it worth it... yeah; will you want to come back... I am most sure of it. I suggest making a reservation and they also have valet parking. They have a few things they are famous for, and I am not one to tell someone what to order, but I will say that the shrimp spring rolls are really good, as well as the calamari and the blue cheese covered potato chips. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was served similarly to their sister restaurant (Atlanta Fish Market) and it was super tasty. My brother ordered 2 deserts ... yeah I said 2! He shared though and the Banana Cream Pie was d*#*@! good.
Fried lobster pieces were nice & crunchy. Fried perfect. The love drink w/proseco was light crispy champagne Sangria taste, good! Scallops Risotto was rich, creamy delicious. Hangar steak was very medium, tender.Peaches and cream dessert was the perfect finishing touch to our meal. Oh the Love drink w/proseco, nice!
Very nice customer service..food is excellent. Pecan Trout with garlic Mashed potatoes and asparagus is to die for...Hubby said the Veal is good also. We will be back again!
This place is listed as a dinner. Way too up scale to be considered one. Food was alright. Some very tasty and other stuff was kind of bland. My sons chicken was overcooked. Disappointed by the plate size for the prices. Dinners didnt even come with a veggie. Service and staff was very good though.
We had an amazing time here. The serving staff was friendly and efficient. Our main Server, Micha was very helpful and entertaining. I love the general atmosphere and the decor is anything but a diner. Quite superb. Food was five stars as well.
Buckhead Diner always has some good food and an awesome beer selection. Lots of local breweries to choose from.The BIGGEST reason to come here are the home-made Bleu cheese potato chips. 😍🤤 Yes, you will find some NOT covered in Bleu Cheese, and they are great for a pallet cleansing.The majority of the entrees Ive had have been well executed and delicious. Also, cocktails and Adult milkshakes here are tasty!I bring everyone that comes to visit here at least once. Most ask for it again.... And Ill gladly join them.One star for mandatory valet. Without a doubt some of the best food and service I have EVER experienced at a restaurant. A minor error in my order resulted in them covering the cost of my entire bill, and serving the correct item promptly.If you’re looking for delicious meal options, a great atmosphere and superb service; look no further.
Pretty good food, but the smell of fish throughout the restaurant coming from the open kitchen was rather unpleasant the entire time we were there. I believe this is probably a design flaw with their layout. In summary, the food is up to par, service is decent, but the interior design/layout and strong smell of fish throughout the restaurant keep this from being higher rated.
Nice place to grab a bite to eat. Nostalgic atmosphere, stellar service, and seriously tasty food, if not a tad salty and rich. The desserts looked amazing but gult kept me from going that route! Ha! Overall, it was kind of like stepping back in time, in a good, fun way. Definitely worth checking out, if youre in the vicinity of Buckhead.
We always visit the Buckhead Diner when we are in Atlanta, and yesterdays visit did not disappoint! The food and the service were excellent!! We tried a new appetizer, well, new to us, the fried Mac n Cheese tots, and they were out of this world!! Everything is delicious here though, so we werent surprised they were excellent as well! For breakfast, lunch, brunch, or dinner, (not to mention cocktails!) Youll find your needs deliciously filled at The Buckhead Diner. :)

Never been to a upscale diner restaurant before I am glad I gave this place a try. Service was very very good my food was excellent, banana cream piepastrami sandwich and fries. And for the appetizers fresh cut potatoes chips with blue cheese sauce.
We had crab cakes and fried chicken. Both were perfect! I had the White Chocolate Banana Cream Pie for desert! Perfect, Plus! If you want a terrific meal and dont want to spend an immense amount, eat here. A very pleasant place, very capable and helpful wait staff, just a delightful place for a really nice dinner!
