Smaller than most exchanges, sometimes you can catch a good sale. Usually prices are similar (sometimes higher) to other big retailers - you just get the added benefit of tax free.

Cozy, smaller exchange. Mom likes the salon here. I like browsing while I wait. Nice staff and great for picking up odds and ends.

This place never has anything they hardly have any selections when it comes to makeup or hair care compared to every other single nex the navy has you have to drive an hour to nas Jax for a real exchange and that time is just not worth it they need to update this exchange or something this is crazy

Wide selection, clean and well organized store.

Went to Mayport to see some friends stationed there. So of course we ended up with a trip to the commissary. I found it odd the Exchange was off the installation. However, when you look at the location and size of the base, its a good move. The store had all the staples and some regional choices too. It was clean and check out lines were appropriate for the traffic of the day.

Recently purchased furniture there. They are Ashley Furniture affiliated. First went to the Ashley store to find out how much I wanted was. Next day went to NEX and when it was all said and done I saved $2,100 for the same thing and thats also because of the sale going on. Customer service top notch.

In A Nutshell:-The NEX-Mayport Mall is an unusual b/c normally NEXs are placed inside of Navy bases.-This location is outside of any military installation & acts like a normal civilian retail store would, the only caveat is that in order to shop you must present a military or veterans ID card.-Once inside, this location is medium-sized also offers the standard clothing, makeup and some household goods/supplies.-Right next door is the commissary, which for those of you who dont know means that its the military version of a grocery store.Overall, there was a decent selection of items at the NEX, dont forget the main benefits are that prices are traditionally lower than what civilians can buy on the outside + everything is tax-free.

Always clean and friendly. Pretty standard for a convenience store in regards to features. Free air on the side in car wash are nice.

There have been occasions where the cashiers don’t actually pay attention to the items being scanned. Products are marked down or advertised as a certain price, but don’t scan the correct price at check out, or the cashiers don’t care to input the correct price for a red tag item.It’s much better shopping at the NEX on base, however it’s smaller. They have expanded the building to include more items, such as women’s clothing and the staff there are more friendly and willing to help compared to the “main” NEX.

The inside of the store was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and the merchandise was nice with good prices. The road sign facing south is gone and the other side is not lit. So in the dark if you dont know where to turn, you wont see it. Its also in a suspect area of town.

This is a Neat Place! Its like a mini mall with a small furniture store, where you can get everything you need for the home front, and yes furniture too! And You Can Get Groceries right next door at the Food Commissary, its great! :) Truly a one-stop place to go😇😎

Renovated mid 2019! Clean, open flow, well stocked. Love the Burger Bus lunch truck outside, fantastic food! Remember, that the Navy Exchange stores operate FOR PROFIT, which is why their prices are often as much or more than civilian stores, and its why AAFES (Army Air Force Exchange Stores) are universally cheaper (AAFES is not for profit).Remember, the base exchange stores are glorified convenience stores, and they charge you a little extra for that. If youre watching your budget, shop off base or price match. Youll see the difference.

This facility is pretty awesome! A huge display of most anything a visitor may need. We were camping for a week so we were in and out a few times. Great sales were going on and the random discounted merchandise keeps you looking around. Great help from the staff too.

My husband and I got married a few weeks ago on the navy base at Mayport, and we ordered all of our flowers through the Navy Exchange flower shop. We were incredibly happy with how beautiful the flowers were, and how helpful the entire flower team was, especially Ada! We highly recommend the flower shop to anyone hosting an event :)

They do not sell military uniforms here!!! You have to go on base for those. Otherwise, very nice and clean. In line with most other Exchanges I have been to over the years. Selection is good and the pricing is pretty standard for the area. While it is not on base and anyone can walk in, only persons with military ID cards can make purchases.

Now open to disabled vets with VA ID card. Sale prices are amazing and no tax. Mayport location located off base, so dependents can also go inside. NAS JAX dependents cant go unless verified VA caregiver.

Cannot say enough about the unique and well deserved benefits that active duty, dependents and retirees have earned and that I am fortunate enough to be able to utilize. NEX Mayport is a benefit I enjoy from everyday household needs to basics and serious party needs. Champagne and all!

Barber shop policy sucks...arrived at 1030 and received sequence ticket. After several retirees and uniformed personnel illegally give their favorite barbers their tickets after I arrived. Im stuck sitting for 1.5 hours when my ticket finally made it on the display. By this time its lunch break for active duty personnel that gets head of the line privileges. At that point I just gave up. The management should stop the favorite barber policy and also designate fast track barbers for the uniformed personnel. Im a veteran and work for the Armed Forces as a contractor, I have no problems with the customers...just the mis-management of the way business is being conducted.

Always great to shop at the Exchange and Commissary... friendly employees who always greet you with a smile.

I have not found many bargains at the Exchange. The prices are equivalent to most chain stores (obviously minus the tax). Liquor is less expensive at Total Wine. What it has going for it is that it is near base housing and commuting DOD personnel and their dependents.

The Navy exchange is one of my favorite places to shop. The employees there are very kind and helpful. I save a lot When I shop there.Rose is a very nice lady! She works in the womens Department.

My father open my first Bank account there Ive been banking with them ever since... I also have my loan my home there, they dont charge you for normal checks! Also free consulting for loans

They do not seem to have a uniform section. I understand there is one on Mayport but some basics would be nice. Both locations could use more Marine items for those of us far away from home so to speak.

I would give this more stars if only the people that worked there were a little more engaged with sales and helping you find and navigate what you were looking for. Unfortunately often times you can go in and you will find sales women talking to themselves pretty much and often in another language which can make you feel uncomfortable. I stopped in for perfume on one occasion and was greeted with a friendly face and the next time I stepped in she was gone and the woman I asked help from looked at me like I was bothering her. Aside from these issues of poor training perhaps, you will run into some nice guys in the hardware section and electronics in particular. The ladies who check you out or always pretty nice. I fully appreciate being able to pick up a few things or a lot of things here without sales tax and being supportive of our local base store period thank you just please do a better job training your retail.

I really like the Mayport Naval Exchange because it has something for all members of our family including the two dogs. There are great price markdowns on clothes, electronics, liquor, and all of the general necessities of a home. The building is large enough and comfortable to be in and there are no sales taxes. A great bargain for our military familys.

This is a nice exchange. The people that work their are usually very helpful. The one draw back is the variety of sizes that is carried. I wish they carried larger sizes. I have been there when others have asked the same question.

Newly renovated...excellent service staff. It has two issues that need improvement:1. Ladies dressing rooms have NO air circulation ~ Ive actually taken clothes home to try them on as opposed to using their dressing rooms.2. Independent vendors (cell telephones) have NO supervision. We spent three hours in the PX to simply exchange a lemon iPhone. We will NEVER purchase from that vendor again.

This is a pretty good Exchange, with a wide variety of items and services. Parking is good, although getting out going back north towards the Base or Wonderwood is a bit of a challenge. But like most of the AAFES and NEX Exchanges, they cant really compete with Walmart or the other megastores even with no sales taxes.

My favorite place to shop. Price matching program is excellent. Also special orders on specialty items. I prefer here than walmart on many items.

There appeared to be a significant amount of empty shelving space. Not sure if this was intentional or there was a lack of merchandise to be sold. But overall the experience was very pleasant.

I needed a new TV The Man Who Sold it to me polite very honest and since I was handicapped he loaded it into my car for me I dont know his name but hes working right now he sounds Jamaican with a bald head and he is a wonderful wonderful employee you need more people like him working in the Navy Exchange

Navy Exchange Mayport. Not actually on the base but out in the community. Not sales tax, but priced like Macys. A lot of kind of top shelf stuff. Not really priced for the E-3 and below crowd. They dont t even have a uniform shop, that is back on the base with the Fleet store. AFEEs needs to take over.

It is exactly OK. Its neither great, nor is it horrible. Theyve changed some of the brands that they carry over the years and no longer can you find Coach or Pandora or the like. If you want that, its either out in town or to the other side of Jax to Nas, which honestly does carry better items.I really never think Im getting a good deal at the Exchange, and thats usually confirmed when looking at their food items. How a bag of chips at the Exchange is more expensive then the same bag 50ft away at the Commissary is beyond me.If you need foodstuffs and they have it at the Exchange, do yourself a favor and go buy it at the Commissary. Pretty much anything else can be had out in town for the same or maybe less money.

Its a nice place to shop, the staff is very nice and helpful, Im happy to see the price check verifications, I enjoy going there.

The NEX at NAS consistently has better variety in clothing. Nothing has changed in 20+ years at Mayport, they hire mostly older Filipino women that give a negative impression, but a good portion of the employees will assist you when needed. Great place to save $ on shoes, purses and cologne or perfumes

Always organized and staff ready to help. Will price match any advertised brand so additional savings are waiting for the asking.

Bought a video game console at a better price than local big box stores, and used a scratch off that saved me 15% more, plus no tax.

Not a very good selection of men’s clothes but as usual everything is geared towards officers pay. I don’t understand how some things like candy can be 2 or 3 dollars more than the commissary.

I was rather disappointed. It wasnt very clean, the produce wasnt very fresh, and the prices werent much to write home about. Also, its hard to find, and getting from the parking lot to the store was a pain.

I think the NEX is a little pricey. I also bought a shirt that came apart after washing the first time, I bought a pair of leggings for a Christmas gift and they have a rip in the leg, and the T-shirt gown I bought at Christmas shrunk after washing it for the first time as well. Im really disappointed. I wash everything in cold water too!

Nice small exchange. Not a lot to choose from, but overall a nice store. They do not have an appliance warehouse anymore. You have to go to NAS Jax to pick up your appliance.

They have just about anything you need here. I always find the things I need there.

Theyve continued to add quality clothing and other goods. The disappointing thing to me is the bargains or savings compared to purchasing equal items out in town are near gone. Liquor is equal to prices out in town, so if you were making special trips to the Exchange for it, save your gas, the selection isnt as good as it used to be either.

People can always expect clean, polite service. Sometimes may be a wait during the peak times, but otherwise quiet and neat

Shopping here allows me to give back to the military community. Precious dollars spent go to support Morale, Welfare and Recreation for active duty members and their families.

This is small for a department store but there is always a reasonable selection of merchandise and for whatever reason hundreds of upmarket sunglasses, purses, and watches.

First time to ever purchase furniture from a NEX Furniture Store. They called we set up a delivery,removed our old furniture and get a call the morning of the delivery that there was a glitch in the system and our delivery was not on the carriers manifest. Recieved a followup call from employee stating he would put in for a manual delivery but again the carrier would have to call me regarding the time. Tentative deliver the next day at ? time. OkSo now we are sitting on beach chairs making lemonade out of lemons. Fingers crossed the 3400.00 in furniture we paid cash for actually delivers.

Love shopping here though is not for everyone, you must be a military or Military family. All of their products are original quality. 👏❤

I would rate it a #2 on a 10 scale, the Mayport Navy Exchange is absolutely the worst of all the Exchanges. If I could help to close the doors, I would surely do so . I feel like their taking advantage of the military and cant compete with local businesses.

The Navy Exchange on NAS Jax is a lot better than the one at Atlantic Blvd.

The AC vent was dirty and moldy. Walls looks like something was thrown on it and ran down the wall. The breakfast was mostly bread in the form of waffles muffins. Yogurt was available and coffee but no juice or fruit. This place has so much potential.

Good prices with lots of goods but you must be either in the military and be with military friends or family to shop there as you need a military ID.

Best place to get a great deal on several items. Enjoy spendspree tax free without a doubt!
