Associate (Required).They have the right set their own requirements, but to have no allowance for an alternate educational experience is a joke, and a very bad one at that. Being trained in all major elements of electronics I found all of the community colleges courses wanting. They touch only one the most basic concepts, as I write this I stop to review the requirements for one community college. For instance there is no coverage of: radio frequency devices at all, the words surface mount and through hole do not exist, soldering technique not covered. They talk of lab work, but I have have been in several of their labs, maybe all the test equipment is locked up in those small cabinets, but they are not hiding a stereoscopic microscope, hot air rework station or BGA machine in them. Indeed the only totally equipped lad I saw in a college was at MIT!
