I recently purchased a pickup truck from AU Motors and to be very blunt I will never purchase another from this company. People where nice and friendly. I fully understood AS IS but when you give someone almost $7000 they would tell you that the oil pan was cracked. Had vehicle checked and it would cost another $1000 to just get this fixed. There is no telling what else is wrong but thats my problem now. I WOULD NOT SEND MY WORST ENEMY TO BUY A CAR AT THIS DEALERSHIP. Came by dealership mgr on vacation, was told to take vehicle to Auburn Tires. Mgr didnt seem interested in working on truck was told put in stop leak and keep on driving. The following is a $3500.00 list of repairs that was needed to have safe and mechanical sound truck: Sway bar link bushing completely deteriorated, upper and lower ball joints had play and the boots were completely open, value cover gaskets are leaking oil, timing cover and gasket leaking coolant, transmission tail shaft seal fluid, both heater hose tees are leaking. By response to another individuals review, they inspect all vehicles, what are they looking at during these inspections? After numerous trips to have different items taken care of it has cost me over 6000 dollars to have problems fixed. I really dont understand how you say vehicles are checked out and you would not tell customers about problems.

When I was 20 years old looking to buy a car. No dealership in the opelika/auburn area would give me a car without a huge down payment because I’ve never owned a car before and I didn’t have any credit. After months of searching a coworker recommended AU cars to me because she had just bought her first car from them with no trouble. Before going there I tried Gil’s. They were willing to work with me but they were trying to put me in a car they wanted to sell. I did not like the car when they asked me to test drive it. Smelled of cigarettes, had burn holes and a huge stain in the back seat. At AU they let me choose the car that I wanted and I didn’t have to use all the money that I saved as a down payment leaving me with more than enough for insurance and tag. Since then I’ve upgraded my car with them and my mother and brother have also purchased cars. Highly recommended!

My parents bought a car from Tony about a year ago. Thought we were getting a good deal, they claimed the car was inspected and perfectly fine but would not show a car fax. We took their word because Tony goes to the same church as us. Turns out the car did not have the original motor in it. The car was a bad egg. Weve put thousands into the car whereas we should have just bought a brand new car. Wont be going back here again.

So far we have had a great experience. We got a great deal on a vehicle (I made a few phone calls to my former sales managers from when I sold cars to check NADA). We bought the truck on Saturday and called them Monday evening due to the transmission not shifting correctly. Tony said Well, you know all cars are technically sold As Is, but I will NOT sell one with a bad transmission. If I have to put a new transmission in it for you, thats what Ill do. We are waiting for the transmision shop to call for the diagnosis.

Most definitely isnt a great place to buy a car bought a car Red 2011 Hyundai sonata an had several issues within 30days took it to two different shops so I took the car back an ask for a partial of my down payment an Tony was very rude but claim to care about ppl an love to help ppl but god will handle him....

My wife and I bought a very nice Honda Pilot there, it has been great, we have had no issues with the car and the people there are friendly and helpful. We will be buying our next car there in a couple of months most likely.
