Better lumber than Home Depot. Good customer service. Not the best roofing selection but times are tough.

Heavy duty lumber yard and construction materials. Mostly used by contractors. Friendly and helpful staff. Everything from asphalt to xtractor bolts!! Most customers have credit Accounts. Easy assess for trucks. Close to highway 49.

Update: There is a new manager at the Grass Valley location who has taken initiative and made himself the end-all for any future errors. No more passing the buck, so I have upgraded my review.This company has numerous locations. My experience is at the Auburn and Grass Valley stores. The local people and management are great. They are polite and attentive. My problem is with the billing department. I have stopped letting the local salesmen even bid on my lumber packages because of the billing practices coming out of the rancho cordova corporate office.Last winter I ordered 40 or so copper deck post caps. They showed up wrong twice. I got charged for all three shipments, with fuel surcharge and delivery fee on each invoice. Understandable mistake, but it took two months of repeated phone calls to get them to correct their error.This month I built another deck and picked up all the materials with a large dump trailer. I had sent a PO for will call a week prior and had the load built in the yard. They fork-lift loaded me in 5 minutes. When the bill arrived for that single will call load they had split it into 3 invoices, each with a $60 fuel surcharge and a $35 delivery fee. Tomorrow I will begin calling them and, based on past experience expect to be treated rudely by a woman who sounds like she has 78lbs of blubber tugging on her vocal chords. I cant help but suspect that its an intentional practice. Bottom line: scrutinize your bill if you open an account here. If youre paying COD or at the counter you should be fine.
