Mike and Joaquin did a really great job helping me find a beautiful Spanish Style guitar so I can start to play flamenco music. As a beginner they made me feel very comfortable and not out of place at all about just starting out and even busted out some awesome jams and played amazing flamenco music together. It was so awesome. It sounded amazing. Great way to get people interested in learning a new instrument. It was a great experience and I really look forward to learning how to play this guitar now that they helped me pick out. The drum department hooked me up too and were very helpful as well. The entire staff is kind, helpful, and cool. It was a most bodacious narly epic experience that will forever be etched into the walls of rock history. RADICAL! BEST DAY EVER!! 😎

Jason and Joram of the Aurora, Illinois store both took an incredible amount of time with me on the phone and in person today. They helped me with the absolute best possible deal (I am certain of this) for some drum heads and cymbals. I really feel I can trust them again. I went in to get my guitar strings replaced and it was a much better experience than I was anticipating. The guy that helped me was named mike and was a much more advanced player than me. My family and I came to shop for our first guitar! The gentleman that originally helped us we wont mention his name was very knowledgeable but not very helpful! He asked us one probing question what was our favorite genre of music then proceeded to pick out the most expensive guitar without asking our budget or our needs! After we try to guide him towards something that fit what we needed he seemed to get bored with us and told us to get him when we were ready! Our son display interest in the bass guitars and when we asked about the bass guitars he still walked away leaving us to our own devices and to figure out exactly what direction we wanted to go and what we needed as far as learning how to play our very first guitar mind you! The gentleman that checked us out was more helpful in reaching our goals and our needs informed us of class prices and other accessories that we may have needed for guitar! Moving forward we suggest not only asking our favorite genre of music but price and what all is needed for successful guitar playing pleasure!

I had a great experience coming to this store to purchase a new acoustic guitar. The tech, Mike, that helped us was incredibly knowledgeable in the brand of guitar we were looking for and really showed the range of what the guitar could do. Joaquin was the employee that helped us at the checkout. He was very knowledgeable in the different types of products should purchase to keep the guitar sounding its best and was just a joy overall to interact with. I will be returning to this location for every guitar need that I have!

I came in looking to repair my guitar and buy an amp since i had just started learning and i had an a excellent time i had a great conversation with Mike as he expertly repaired my guitar he gave me great tips for starting out and when i needed an amp he directed me to another employee on the floor named Jake who was also fantastic had a great conversation with him as well while he helped me find an amp within my price range which he did not show one ounce of frustration about and was completely chill with walking me through things as I am a beginner and he even helped me bring it to my car because I stink at carrying around my guitar (No case yet) all in all it was an awesome experience i recommend for sure if you are just starting out

I come here all the time and have not had a bad experience once. Great selection, helpful staff, easy online pick up, and the repair shop has been very helpful to me. Be patient, this place is always slammed with customers.

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about items for sale. I noticed the shop seemed to be much better stocked than previous visits pre-covid. They have a very wide selection of different guitar straps right now, among other things. The only thing you might not find a lot of is used gear.

I wanted to post a quick review about the guitar tech Mike. I have had many guitars worked on over the years and Mike has been one of the best to work with. He is knowledgeable and has two traits that I respect. Integrity and honesty. When I ask him questions he tells me his thoughts...not just what I want to hear. He is thorough and listens to what I am looking for. When he tells me something will be done at a certain time..it is. I have only had pleasant experiences with Mike and every time I get a guitar back the only surprise I get is that it is in better condition than I expected. It is obvious he takes pride in his trade and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Terrible service. Not once was I asked if I needed help finding a guitar. I was here for 40 minutes trying to get their attention but they preferred to help the blonde lady and acted as if I was a ghost

Distaff here are very friendly and knowledgeable in the instruments they are selling. My husband loved his visit and his new guitar. He was there for 2 hours and didnt realize it.

Very disreputable. They sold an amp Id already paid for before I could come get it. They sent me no updates about my order and basically sold it out from under me. Customer service is a joke. No attempt was made to resolve the matter beyond sending my money back. Then they had the nerve to send me an email saying sorry you cancelled your order. Never once apologized. Very disappointing.

I am writing this review because the employees here are wizards in knowing their craft. I myself come here frequently for sound engineering tips and equipment and mr. Packey is always here going above and beyond. I want to say thank you to guitar center for hiring pros, and thank you pros for making us musicians better!!

Omg, the service was awesome. I brought my 2 kids for the first time and they had more than me. Granted I was only there for some cables. But left with a few extra things, I didnt even know I needed. And Im glad I did. Great store over all tho.

This is truly a great place for music. This is a one stop shop for music and they have it all. Drums, guitars. Pianos, bongos, DJ equipment and many other instruments. They have all the price points from beginners to experts. They also offer music lessons for all instruments. This place is outstanding. They allow you to play the instruments. Guitar Center is highly recommended!

Drove from St.Charles because they were open and seemed like a reliable place to get an mic/audio setup. But they were too busy and the guy who was their expert seemed overwhelmed and wasnt of much help. Probably shouldve waited a day an just gone to Best Buy.

This place has amazing staff. These guys go out of their way to inform me about the differences in quality and price without actually trying to sell me on it. They know the secret. Instruments sell themselves. Every time I visit I tell them what Im looking for and my price range, and they seem to have a blast showing me all the newest gear and how it works along with instruments and how to potentially upgrade them later. They have even helped me a few times when calling to compare prices of used equipment when Im buying gear from outside sources and cant find the info Im looking for online. Sometimes they even find me a better deals on the exact same product in better condition. Big shout out to Chris and Jake. Those two are who made me decide to go out of my way to write this review.

I came to Guitar Center looking for a new midi keyboard controller. Im not sure how many musicians buy keyboards through Guitar Center, but if you are wanting to actually demo a keyboard---especially a midi controller that has no tone generator---you wont be able to do that. In fact even synths are sparse. Meanwhile, guitars can be heard throughout the store. The sales associate, Packey, who helped me, was actually not a musician but was their Pro Sound guy. I would suggest that Guitar Center should have a computer with DAWs installed (since they sell DAW software) to allow customers to see what the midi controllers can do. Sure I can watch video reviews all day. Most of those reviews are done by guys that produce music. Theyre not really composing. Theyre not playing a composition, so you dont get any idea of the keyboards musical capabilities. If Guitar Center had DAWs and VSTs loaded and ready, I could have chosen an awesome Fender Strat instrument and had a guitar duel with the other customers. That would give your Pro Sound guy a chance to show his expertise in DAWs sound engineering.

Everyone at this location was very knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely continue shopping at this location.

Theyve got great instruments and equipment of every sort, and when its not at the location, they can easily find a way to get what you need shipped over.

I went to see a casio privia px770 that they showed on line as being in stock. When I got there I was told they had one in the box but that I could not try it out. I decided to look at the other keyboards they had, most of them had no prices on them. When I asked for help I was told they didnt know the prices or any of the features. This place treats potential customers like dirt. I would never return to this place ever again. I wound up going to Cordigans in Geneva and was shown a px770 an upgrade but plays the same way. They treated me like Royalty compared to Guitar center.

One of the worst guitar center Ive been too. Everyone pointed to the wall and have at it. No experience with any of the equipment and did not have much in stock so it was basically best to shop online to avoid a waste of time money and unprofessionalism of employees.

Super chill employees and the repair guy is really nice. Took a while to do my guitar repair because of shipping issues and he fixed a cracked part and also polished my guitar free of charge.

The staff was EXTREMELY helpful on the beginning of my 7 year olds music journey! Bridgette in drums was very knowledgeable, patient, and helped us pick an electronic drum kit that my son can grow with. And Mario helped me set up lessons for him and answered A LOT more of our qusetions lol. The staff here is wonderful and willing to help!

The sales associates are goofy! I had a positive experience because I knew what I was looking for.Guitar Center plays employees by commission, so be prepared for a customer experience rooted in making a sale and not in matching the right product to the customer. Start online and do your research first so you can make an educated purchase. That being said, most of the associates are musicians themselves, so they have helpful (albeit anecdotal) advice to help you narrow down a product to buy.

Had an awesome experience finding and purchasing a guitar with the help of Jake. Also had it checked out by Julio who did an amazing job, he even cleaned and tuned it for us. Guitar center is full of wonderful employees and I would definitely be returning in the future.

With the help of online support, I purchased a bass guitar as a birthday gift with the intention on picking it up that day via curbside pickup. I was never contacted alerting me the bass was ready for pickup. On the following day, I received an email stating the bass was shipped and would be at the store in 5 days. I contacted the store and asked if the bass was available there, to which they replied, yes. I asked if I could pick it up and they could replenish their stock with the one that was to arrive a week later (arriving AT THEIR STORE, not my home). I was told no and in fact, would have to purchase yet another bass AND once the shipped bass arrived, apply for a refund, and wait 3 to 5 days for the refund to process. Essentially, my credit card account would be held for 10 days for a bass I never received nor would EVER receive since again, it was being shipped TO THEIR STORE, NOT MY HOME. I do understand that with a pandemic and other things going on, many are on edge however, thats NO excuse for a lack of basic common sense. Sadly. their buy two, return one policy is one that I simply cant afford. I wont be shopping there again.

Keyboard guy knew nothing.

I visited this store to have my sons guitar strap repaired as the screw connecting it came out. The service was great - the associate filled the hole with glue and re-affixed the screw and didnt charge me! He took care of the issue immediately, and couldnt have been more helpful or nice about it!

Not as fun as it use to be . Very quiet. Since Covid you cant play anything and there are no displays set up.

We have always found this Guitar Center to have what we are looking for and at a reasonable price. I have bought items in every section of the store and have been satisfied with the quality every time. On our most recent visit we were treated very well by the staff and manager. There was no high pressure or attitude and I received my drums with a friction free transaction. Plenty of parking and easy to get to from Hwy 59.

For anyone in need of outstanding guitar repair work ask for Cory. He is a meticulous craftsman and I could not be more pleased with the stellar job he did on my 15 year old Martin acoustic guitar. Cory is honest, he works efficiently, he keeps an open line of communication and his fees are more than fair. He did a partial refret, leveled and polished the frets that were salvageable, cleaned my instrument up beautifully and put some nice new strings on. It sounds better than ever!Over the years, Ive had several major repairs done on this particular Martin guitar. The whole instrument has needed to be rebuilt twice; first after falling off a bed onto a hardwood floor and second after being crushed in an overhead luggage compartment by an inconsiderate passenger. Its been in for repairs and maintenance at least 10 times since I bought it thus I have ample experience dealing with guitar repair techs. Cory has done the best work to date of any repair technician and overall I had the most positive experience. Almost one year ago to the day, I brought my guitar into a ma and pop guitar repair shop for a restringing and to have the action tightened up. They kept it for 2 months, charged me an outrageous sum, and returned it in worse condition than when it arrived. The point is, if you really care about your guitar be sure to bring it somewhere you can trust. So if youre in the area and need work done, look no further then Cory at the guitar center in Naperville. He will take care of you!

Today I approached Packey in Audio, hoping to get some basic advice on microphone selection. The knowledge and advice I was given was beyond anything I expected. Being new to audio recording and trying to get my home studio up and running, Packey answered every question I had regarding specific microphone selection, matching them to voices, preamps, the recording process, and then some. I was unsure when I came in the store, but I walked out knowing I bought the right microphone for me! Ive been going to this location for a couple of weeks now, and I have nothing but good things to say. The Guitar Tech/Luthier Mike is very knowledgeable, and helped me understand the intricacies of guitar setup. He also helped me get my acoustics action where I need it. Bridget and Chris at checkout are very helpful and will make sure your needs are taken care of! All in all, I cant recommend this place enough!

Calm and sublte place I would say. The guys at the counter was super cool and had good customer skills that you can rarely find now. They clear your doubts if you have any even if you are a beginner or pro at an instrument. I saw lots of guitars, drums sets(new and used) and a lot of other cool stuff.

I actually enjoyed my visit to this guitar center, very knowledgeable staff on the product that they sell. Event though I didnt keep the speaker i bought due to a manufacturer defect i was fully reimbursed with no hesitation. Then they suggested another set of monitor speakers and they are great. Highly recommend these guys, they will answer any questions that you throw at them.

Bought my first acoustic guitar from here. There was a gentleman there that was just there to kill time before picking up his son and he really took the time to show me the different types and find a guitar in my price range. They should hire him!! The actual workers were really helpful even though I came in 20 min before closing.

Came in looking for assistance to purchase a guitar and accessories received no help. Another customer came in and received assistance right away. Pretty poor customer service.

I almost never write a review but I feel like telling my experience of today.My son was looking at a few guitars cause he was ready for a high quality guitar unfortunately my pocket not.Anyway we stared to look and I knew a number in my head right away.He pick a guitar that it was on display to be tested and use by pretty much any one.I ask this guy JULIO if he has the same guitar new unopened .Right away he try to tell me the guitar was new ...so I say is not .Its out of the box and its been used.Am I right here ?Then this Julio stared to try harder to convince me the guitar was new.Comparing it with cars and even fruits.Ridiculous.This kid need to realize he was talking with an adult that easy twice his age.Just because we both are Hispanics doesnt mean Im gonna buy your childish explanations .He need to upgrade his poor sales skills if we can call that skill.In the other hand ...this Exelent employee named Chris.He actually listen my point of view deals with me in a very profesional and productive manner that I had no problems dropping735 dllsIf it wasnt for CHRIS .I was ready to walk out .This guy JULIO almost ruined a 735 dlls sale.Thanks CHRIS.it was a very pleasant experienceIts unbelievable how a good employees can actually make a huge difference.

Two stars for selection.I was looking to purchase a digital piano today. After 15 minutes of looking and playing, still no one had talked to or acknowledged me. Not even a hello on the way in or a goodbye on the way out.I would say its a fluke but three guys got help upon walking in. It sucks because I was ready to buy, now I will be spending $600 somewhere else. Customer service is important, especially when they are helping people just browsing and messing with guitars but ignore other customers who are ready to buy.

Took my kids in to show them instruments, 2 of the kids already play guitar. The fact that a person can go in and spend an hour checking different instruments without hassle from salespeople is awesome. I have bought several instruments from Guitar Center and will again.

I had a poor experience with music lessons at guitar center. I had my son get sick with stomach flu and was told it was within the 24 hour window so we could not reschedule. I remain put off that my sons stomach flu didnt matter and that a reasonable reschedule wouldnt be accommodated.For any parent out there i would suggest alternative music lesson options that are more considerate of the needs of your children.
