I love Austin Homebrew! I prefer to go into the store because I live in Austin and enjoy the experience every time I visit. I am starting out as a homebrewer, and have family that brews there beer from home so its a great place to go for gift ideas. I am starting out with a hard seltzer and the employees were very friendly and informative. Dan, the owner, personally showed us around and gave me tips on a successful brew. He even told me to reach out to him for any questions along the way. I am already looking forward to my next trip!

Knowledgeable staff, pretty big, good selection and variety, you can order online and pickup in the store, while grains in the back.

The staff here are super helpful and knowledgeable and if they dont know something, theyll find someone who does! I really enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the staff, and they seem to enjoy being there. They are not pushy or in your face with intrusive sales tactics, everyone is laid back and will let you browse to your hearts content. Its a store where you can go at your own pace to find whatever you want/need, or to come to them where they are actually happy to help you no matter what your level of expertise or field.

I have to drive an hour to get there but I love this place. The staff are great, and helpful but not intrusive. Their prices are comparable to Amazon and I love to support a brick and mortar store. They nearly always have what I need and when they dont, they can get it. If you are into any kind of home brewing, cheese making, sourdough baking, vegetable fermenting, check these guys out. You wont be disappointed.

I recently attended their cheesemaking class which was taught by Dan and Jeremy, two pun-loving guys that are passionate and extremely knowledgeable about the topic. The class was quite enjoyable and may have gotten me hooked. Im looking forward to attending the wine class as well!

All the home brew supplies you could need at reasonable prices. I bought wood chips to tune up some of my unloved whiskies.

I cant give this place enough stars! I wish I were close enough to visit. But I did order hop rhizomes from them early this year. The customer service has been amazing! I had an issue with my order and it was solved within minutes of me emailing them. I cant wait to order from them again. The variety of items they have is great, along with the pricing that is very fair. I will be ordering from them again soon!

I cant say enough nice things about Austin Homebrew Supply. I started brewing just over a year ago, and theyve been my go to place for basically everything. Their prices are more than fair, especially since you can pick things up right at the store. The real reason to go is the staff. Im not accustomed to folks working in retail who actually care about what theyre selling. These people do! Theyre kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. They usually come in very competitively in pricing and I can get my CO2 tanks exchanged here. If you are new to homebrewing or a seasoned vet this is a great place to get what you need to have a successful brew day.

Excellent service and a good range of supplies. The reason for four stars is the items were packed in Styrofoam noodles. I know these can be recycled in Austin but I dont live there anymore. If they would just use a Greener packaging material I would give them five stars.They responded and corrected me that they use a bio-degradable starch based foam noodle that can be composted. So kudos on the green packaging and a good business to deal with.

Great store for homebrewing. I used to mail order from them when I lived in Illinois. They have always had an amazing inventory and low prices. I recently learned that they are now a 5 minute drive from my house. From 1,000 miles away to around the corner! I plan to brew a lot more often.

I have placed several orders, all have shipped quickly, all have been correct, and received undamaged including many glass items. I recently found an unusually good price on an item. Thinking it was probably clearance discounted due to expiration date or something I ordered it. I was sent an email stating that the item was incorrectly priced on the website. I told them to just cancel the order but they shipped it anyway. I feel that it was outstanding for them to honor their price. I have had absolutely no bad experiences with this company and HIGHLY recommend. Thanks AHS!

I love the smell if milling my own grains. I havent yet needed anything for homebrew that they havent had. They have quite a lot of parallel hobby items for cheese, wine, fermenting in general and more. Helpful and friendly staff. Safe environment during Covid.

The service can be gruff but for the most part they are knowledgeable and helpful. They have a decent amount of product on hand at all times. They carry product for more than just the home brew and wine hobbies. I make cheese and they have been indispensable.

This place is great, not only do they have good kits they have great customer service. I was working with another company who had promised a delivery date for some brewing equipment and they ended up dropping the ball and letting me know the day before I needed the equipment that they could not make the date. Super friendly staff helped me get my legging operation up and running. They are very knowledgeable and were able to answer all my questions. They also have an entire recipe book to get ideas plus kits they will make for you based on the recipes.

I visited here for the first time, because my boyfriend and I are making mead, and I was really impressed with all the products they have in the store. The store was laid out nicely and everything was easy to find. Definitely going back for our mead making needs!

Ordered online and did not receive all of my items. Ordered a mead recipe kit paid almost 100$ for it received 4lbs of honey, additives and a can of blackberry juice....and thats after i paid for a mead brew kit and did not receive items from that either. Not EVER buying from them again and its a shame bc thats where i bought all my supplies from before i ordered online...

I pre-ordered a couple Cascade hop rhizomes from here on April 11th. At the time the website said they would be shipping out in early April and they would notify me once they shipped. Its May 5th, so about a month has passed and they havent sent me any additional update, so I just emailed support for an update.Aaron responded and basically confirmed they dont have any to ship yet, but should get more by the end of the week. I replied and asked that if they werent able to ship it by the end of the week (which he just mentioned they should be able to do) that they just cancel the order at that time. He instead cancelled the order immediately, which I received notification of, and then a few minutes later responded and said that since he doesnt know 100% when they will ship he just went ahead and cancelled the order.It was a small order, around $10 and not worth the trouble of dealing with for them I suppose. Or, he knew that it is highly unlikely he would be able to ship them in the next week, in which case he should have provided that information by now and other customers will be waiting for their orders (which were stated to ship in early April) for another couple of weeks at least, without any update.They were a few bucks cheaper than some other places, which was why I ordered from them initially. But, that doesnt matter if you dont receive your order. Im under the impression many of these sites get their rhizomes from the same suppliers, but regardless... the supplier doesnt control your customer service.

Great recipes and outstanding service! The best beers Ive made have been from their recipes. Ive only dealt with them online but they have quickly answered all my questions. I even had to message them about mistakes I made placing my order and Jason corrected it for me with no hassle. I highly recommend!

Fantastic brew shop! Staff has always been polite and very helpful. Selection is great, and from their recipes on tap I found a new seasonal favorite (try their pumpkin cream ale!).Out of the 3 shops that Ive frequented over the years, these guys maintain the cleanest grain room. Maybe not the most important thing, but that attention to detail stood out to me.

But this where you go to seek knowledge, the staff knows what they are talking about, they will take the time to educate you and answer your questions. Highly recommend this store.

Placed an order on 9/03 and finally got the order on 9/10. They claimed it was because of the holiday. I usually get my orders the next day since I am only 90 miles north. My order was not complete today lacking one item. They said that it was being delivered by the post office. The order today was U.P.S. Terrible service on this order. Might have to find another place to order from. No e-mail letting me know of the delay.

Not a bad little home brew supply. A good selection of beer, wine, cheese and yogurt starters, plenty of brewing kit, and even some bottling options.A great place to get started. Everybody I talked to seemed to know what they were talking about and were friendly enough to share.

I love this place for my homebrewing needs. I live an hour and a half away but their selection is hard to beat so its worth the trip. Or they have reasonable in state shipping and a well made website. I would recommend online or the store location to beginners and professionals alike!

Simply the best brew store Ive ever been to. The employees are very knowledgeable and can help make any idea you may have into a reality. Their grain room is now open to the public, and I recommend going in and looking around to expand your brewing know how.

I wish I could rate this place higher, but I can’t. The only reason I give it two and not one star is because they do have a great inventory of supplies. What they lack is a friendly and helpful staff. Although they like to tell you to call if you have any questions, don’t bother. The one time I really needed some advice I called. The person who answered sounded so indifferent that my call ended with me having more questions than answers. My first attempt at home brewing was a complete failure. Next time I homebrew my supplies will be mail ordered from another supplier.

Ive never ran into anyone that worked there that was a jerk. Theyre all super cool and very helpful and will answer your questions and give you advice. Im lucky to live so close to such a great home brew supplier. Its true, beer makes everyone happy!

Great Homebrew store with an enclosed grain area to keep the dust separate from everything else. Their prices are awesome too. They have wine supplies, beer supplies, cheesemaking, and stuff not for distilling purposes.The staff is friendly and helpful, and they have tasters for a few rotating selections. They have a frequent buyer program as well.

This place is pretty cool. Not only can you buy materials to brew your own beer at home, they also offer classes on how to do it. If Im not mistaken I think they offer more classes than just brewing too.
